I think my thighs are the worst, as long as the bump stays proportinally bigger am hoping to get away with it

My sis in law had her scan yesterday and i am going to have a nephew! Wahooo, was worried my little boy fix was doomed.

PJ i know you are not fat i have seen you, if you weighed a nork i am sure they are about 2 stone each

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2008 10:23

Creena!!!!! You have been away for longer than me! How are you? Boys everywhere here but not for me for a change! Am 22 weeks pregnant with a GIRL >

AprilMeadow · 11/09/2008 10:25

Hey there Creena, I have been meaning to email you for weeks to see how you are getting on. Good news on the hosue move front. Have you checked out Allied Carpets for prices (if you have them by you). They do a great wood effect laminate. We have it here at Meadow Towers and you cant tell its not solid wood

Poor Phin, i hope she feels better as the day goes on.

cravingaquietlife · 11/09/2008 10:28

Me too, the 12 stone bit.

farcking things to do, thats the real reason I want my own house ya know, so I can spend ALL day mning with NO one to see. Feel guilty here with M&D wandering around busy!

My List:

Hugh Grant
Dermot O'Leary
James Nesbitt
Kevin McCloud
Davina McCall

PJ, On my specialist subject, "Holidaying in France" Begin.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:29

Poor Phin. And I've seen you too LG&T - you look amazing. I love the curls.

Hi Creena .

I wanted a new baby until I saw a lady in the shop in front of me with a double buggy, with babies who looked about 18m and 6m. Both screaming. She coped admirably, although I'm sure she was silently screaming herself, and I just wanted to help her so much!!!

L stayed asleep last night fron 8.30pm until 2.45am!! A triumph in PJ land.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:31

OK, CAQL, I really want to holiday in France next year. Villa with a pool, somewhere village-y with maybe a couple of restaurants and a nice shop where I can buy gorgeous fresh bread in the morning . Ideally I would like to fly from Liverpool.

Any ideas???????? And if we're doing girl crushes, Kelly Brook. As long as she didn't speak.

And can I add Phil fron Location Location Location to my list. I should have married him.

AprilMeadow · 11/09/2008 10:40

Woo Hoo on L's sleeping that's BRILLIANT

cravingaquietlife · 11/09/2008 10:45

Ryanair fly from Liverpool to Limoges/Nantes or Bergerac. Obviously I can only comment on "our" region all 3 of those airports serve this area.

Nantes is near the sea if you'd also like a bit of beach. North of La Rochelle (gorgeous place, as is Royan) along the west coast. Limoges / Bergerac are in land. Bergerac is the furthest south, foresty, warm, very beautiful. Limoges is the closest of the 3 to me. (we could have a meet up ) More agricultural, vine yards, still beautiful. The out door pool would be no probs, they are everywhere here, have a look at some small gite complexes, most have self catering accomodation on a shared garden and pool site. If you want good weather then obviously the further south you go the more heat you should get. Stay south of the Loire River and you'll be fine. hth.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:52

Thanks CAQL.

Creena · 11/09/2008 10:59

Wowser, LG&T - a wee girl! How excellent! I know your DD will be so happy to have a sister as I remember you saying that she would love one. I am carrying on in the blue flavoured tradition as we're having another boy. We're really pleased as we're hoping that it will mean a little playmate for Conor to grow up with as we're not planning on any more after this one - I shall be far too old and my pelvis will be far too knackered!!

Hi there April! We've had some quotes from Allied and we're thinking of possibly having some of the flooring from them - either engineered wood or the wood effect laminate (I agree that they look really good and just like wood) which I'd like for the hall, dining room, downstairs WC and kitchen, so that it all flows through and of course is easy to keep clean!

Is this a list of crushes that we're compiling? If so, mine is;

  1. Joaquin Phoenix
  2. Julian Barratt
  3. Giles Coren
  4. Dominic West
  5. Noah Wyle (Carter from ER)

As for my weight, I daren't weigh myself as I know for a fact that I am absolutely MASSIVE. I never really lost the baby weight I gained carrying Conor and now I'm adding to it.

cravingaquietlife · 11/09/2008 11:00

look here PJ if and when you see something you like, let me know and I'll check out the area for you.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 11:02

I know I'm being thick - but what region do I look at?

Pebblemum · 11/09/2008 11:18

Morning everyone

Things have been soo busy here. Poor E was getting so fed up with not being able to start school he was driving me mad so for the past week we've been out and about as much as possible.

The good news is he started school yesterday and loved it. He looks sooo cute in his uniform.

J has settled into seniors really well, he stayed behind yesterday to play in a football tournament and today he has auditions for the school play 'Oliver'. He had to walk on his own this morning, his friend's ill. He was a bit nervous as he wasnt completely confident he knew the way but I didnt get a phone call to say he was lost so he must have made it lol. He still hates the 40min walk though but at least hes getting some exercise

A has been a bit off colour since Sunday, nothing obvious but shes been very clingy and the other day she must have cried for about 10hrs in total, spread out from 7am-11.30pm when she finally fell asleep from exhaustion. She's not got a temperature, her nose is a bit runny but thats about it and its not teeth so god knows whats up but hopefully she's on the mend. She's been dosed up with medicine and was a bit less grisly yesterday so fingers crossed.

Am now off to try to catch up, it was quiet on here the other day now Ive got about 10 pages to read, what happened?

cravingaquietlife · 11/09/2008 11:34

Poitou-Charente, sorry, you are not thick, I should have done that bit for you.

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 11:42

LG&T my old friend. I missed you. I really missed you.

PJ, DH has just asked if I want to go to France next year. Presumably only because Lance Armstrong is coming back to try to win the Tour again. He's probably on his list. I want to go to the Languedoc-Roussillon province. Carcassonne's been on my list of places to go for years.

Women on your lists? How gauche! LG&T, having dabbled t'other way, do you still eye up women? That's rather nosy isn't it?

I must go for a run... Can do about 6 miles without flagging now. Has no real use does it?

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 11:44

Oh my Lord - 6 miles? I can't even run up the stairs without clutching my chest and gasping for breath!

JamInMyWellies · 11/09/2008 12:12

6 miles for gods sake woman sit still.

We want to do France next year too, maybe we could do a huge villa and have a mass meet up.

LG&T lovely to see you congrats on the pink one.

Just been to mums and tots godd I hate it loads of woman who have known each other for yrs and talk to no-one else, saying that it is a good excuse to catch up on grazia.

Themasterandmargaritas · 11/09/2008 12:18

MrsJB, you and me, separated at birth. How could I forget James Nesbitt? Btw, J is outside asleep in the car. Mean, moi? Jamais.

As for those others, pah, they are little boys. You need some real men, like Nicholas Cage and his cute sardonic eyebrow lifting thing he does.

Is it really you Ma Larkin? Finished with all that jigjigging now? Bet dh is exhausted. Poor wee Phin, hope she is soon on the mend.

Hi Creena, good to see you back, and joining us at a crucial moment in our intellectual debate on who wouldn't you kick out of bed. I bet TYG pops up now

I wish i had norks that weighed 1stone each. Mine are inverted, concave. . Also I went to the drs today because I thought I was dying and it turns out I have just pulled a muscle, and I am to find out that I am 2kgs more than I thought I was. Bah.

MKG · 11/09/2008 12:25

Well it's about time the prodigal daughter returned (looks sternly at LG&T). Congratulations on the pink one btw!

Nothing exciting here. I took out my maternity clothes yesterday to "take inventory" Still don't have the bump to wear them, but they are so comfortable I really don't care.

cravingaquietlife · 11/09/2008 12:32

I've always felt like someone was missing in my life TMAM James Nesbitt...it's the accent.

As for Davina McCall on my list, she's just so lovely! I am envious of her all round, she's funny, witty, beautiful, fit. I wouldn't shag her, but I'd love to BE her.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 13:21

I've got a job interview next week, but one bit of the process is an interview with a psychologist. A bit much, methinks. Although the HR bod in me is curious...

charleymouse · 11/09/2008 13:56

Sorry ladies can't catch up as sat here roaring like a baby at the mo. I knew a distant friend/aquaintance (DHs 2nd cousin friend) was pregnant and I am embarassed to say I was a bit jealous as it is her third child and obv mine isn't here anymore.
Anyhoo I have just checked on babycentre (DH will think I am stalker) to see if she has had her babe yet and was shocked to discover she had twins blue and pink yesterday.
I thought it odd we hadn't heard from DHs cousin lately and now wondered if this is why.

Why can't I just be happy for them I am sat here so upset I don't have my twins anymore and feel like such a * bitch. OPbviously I dpn't have any ill feeling toward them just am so jealous of what they have and I don't.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 14:01

CM - it's perfectly natural for you to feel that way, don't beat yourself up. What happened to B was just tragic, and there is no one in the world that would think you were a bitch for feeling cheated and wondering what could have been.

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 14:06

charley, that's the point isn't it? It's the sharp jolt and physical reminder of what's missing in your life. It's normal to feel this way. It's not directed at them, it's a sadness that sometimes overwhelms you. Don't call yourself names please, it's not acceptable.

I'm sorry today's a hard one.

charleymouse · 11/09/2008 14:28

Thank you PJ and SOH I am now sporting a fetching shade of purple around the eyes and a shiny red nose.
Move over Rudolph you have been superseded. A mouse will be leading the sleigh this year.

I have just been informed by colleagues
"it was proabably for the best" me thinks not; "it will make you stronger" I would rather not be; "be grateful for what you have" don't you think I bloody am; "My * lost 3 babies think yourself lucky" I do but I can still fell like shite.

Think I will leave work early and go and snuggle my most precious babies.
