Why were you going awol? And why aren't you pink anymore?

I can't comment on your list, apart from not knowing who two of them are, the other 3 are on my 'not if it was the end of the world' list. TrouserSnake? Really? He'd start singing you know and then you'd be obliged to tear your own ears off. And Hugh Grant looks like he's lost, wandered off from teaching geography, never to find his way back. Oh, turns out I can comment on your list.

What's wrong with Jakey?

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 09:32

I love trousersnake so much, don't you love his curls. Sexyback came on in the car this morning and I nearly peed my pants. I like the Hugh Grant in Bridget Jones Diary, as Daniel Cleaver, 'I bet you did, you dirty bitch'. I love it!!!!!!!!!

I find Jake a bit, boyish. Although if it's good enough for Reese Witherspoon, I suppose.

I was going to go AWOL after my disastrous weekend at AM's. I felt a little exposed, I think, although she (and Scoot) were absolutely amazing, and couldn't have done any more for me. I just felt like the worst mother in the world. And I don't feel like any of us came off well, and I don't think they saw the relationship with L that I normally have. Just feel a bit cheated, and I think I was going to go AWOL because, ultimately, I feel a bit embarrassed about it all.

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 09:49

Pardon my French but that's bollocks. Please read back what AM said about how lovely you and L are and the only thing either of them said was that M needs to get more involved. But you know that don't you? You need to be kinder to yourself. A child that won't sleep is something AM was extremely used to with ds, she knows what it's like to have children and a marriage and to find things overwhelming. Don't you even think about going AWOL and you won't get out of coming to stay with me. I can't promise such beautiful surroundings as Meadow Towers but I'll do my best.

And come on, you would, wouldn't you?

AprilMeadow · 11/09/2008 09:50

Shush, shush, shush, none of this talk of going AWOL. We had a great time and it was lovely to meet all 3 of you. Always tricky when you stay away from home, esp in someone else's house. Dont worry, coz when we come to stay with you, you wont know whats hit you I have 2 that struggle to sleep in strange places and they REALLY scream.

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 09:51

C'mon AM, where's your list?

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 09:52

OK, nuff said.

AprilMeadow · 11/09/2008 09:57

Well...... i havent ever really had a list, but having thought about it, my first draft would go somehting like this:

1: Mark Owen (when T were here the 1st time)
2: Duncan James

Cant really think of anyone else.... how lame!

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 09:59

Duncan James? Really? Don't you think he's a bit smug?

I used to lurrrve Mark Owen, but my 31 year old self is drawn to Jason Orange now.

AprilMeadow · 11/09/2008 10:02

I think he is lovely.
Worryingly i found myself drawn to Gary & Howard this time round!

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 10:03

PJ, you're missing the point somewhat I feel. These men are ones that if they turn up and beg you to spend the night with them, you are allowed to. It's acceptable extra-curricular activity. Thus far, you've listed two gay men. You're wasting your votes.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:04

One of my friends has a big thing for Gary Barlow. I'm not sure, myself. I can't get out of my head the bits in Robbie's book about Gary.

My administrator won't shut up this morning. Seriously , I have never met anyone I have less in common with, although she is lovely. But, shut up! I'm trying to MN.

Where is CAQL - I need her advice on holidays in France.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:06

Listen SOH - I am queen of the gays, they love me. I could turn George, honestly. I've loved him every minute since I was 5. Although, admittedly all the political stuff turns me off slightly, 'shut up George, and sing I'm your man!'

ShowOfHands · 11/09/2008 10:09

I could turn most men I think. The other way. I'm a sorry sight naked now. I don't think Jakey's coming round any time soon.

AprilMeadow · 11/09/2008 10:11

LOL at wasted votes!

Have you read Gary's book? It was very good and made me think that it was actually blown totally out of proportion.

I guess i could add Matthew McConaughey to my list

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:12

Oh SOH - I still have two stone of baby weight. But somehow, I still can't stop stuffing my face.

I never realised I was so vain!

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:13

Yes Matthew McConaghey is a good one. Agreed.

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2008 10:13

I quite like Jeff Goldblum, although it is the voice that really does it for me.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:14

Oh you're sneaking in are you? The bloody wanderer returns!!!!!!!

HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2008 10:14

I have a stone of Beau weight and a stone of new baby weight. Am about 12 stone...

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2008 10:16

I have not been wandering, have been writing in uniforms, settling children in to new school and tending to sailor joe.

< longs for a wander >

He is sewing atm.

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2008 10:18

Creena · 11/09/2008 10:18

Hello ladies. I haven't been around for a while and so I'm popping in to say hello to you all and I hope you're all well. Also, congratulations to TYG and Sky, who I understand have both had lovely baby boys - well done, both of you! Looking at the thread title, it seems as though there are some other May 07ers who are now up of the duff! I haven't been able to catch up on all of threads so I don't know who you are but congratulations to you all! Am I right in thinking that LG&T thought that she might be expecting? I can't think of anyone else in addition to her but congrats all around anyway!

Not much to report from here - SPD has been a killer and work a nightmare but I'm now on leave so hurrah! Maternity leave yet to start but I have lots of annual leave to take in advance. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with you a bit more effectively now! We should also be moving house soon, after many many months of house selling/buying stress and frustration. It's a new build so I'm currently checking out flooring, as everywhere will need to be done. I've had some unbelievably astronomical quotes, which has really surprised me but then it's been 7 years since we last moved house and I guess prices have gone up a lot during that time.

Anyway. Will stop clogging up the thread with an enormo post now - hello to you all and hope you're all fine and dandy.

Jennyusedtobepink · 11/09/2008 10:19

LG&T - I weigh that and I'm not pregnant. Just a fatty.
