Feel a bit behind in that Jamlet doesn't seem to do so much stuff as some of your LOs But she does try to put her socks and shoes on (nearly as much as she tries to take them off ) and I think she understands a fair but, just doesn't always want to join in IYKWIM. She knows how to open and close the DVD drive on my laptop and likes to put her sunglasses on her toys, even if she won't wear them herself.

We get the odd shrill shriek too - largely when I try to stop her doing something, particularly when I (try to) stop her ripping the pop-up bits out of her books.

Might be tempted in a day out at the safari park, even if we're miserable old tight buggers who won't come to CP

And ouch for Little Storm! Could be worse though - DH slid down a mirror that was leant against a wall as a child. Somehow managed to avoid cutting his bum apparently, but ripped the back of his legs.

Don't feel left behind Jammy, my LO is very much a baby not a toddler. She might stand up and take her hands off the sofa, but as soon as she's had the applause and appreciation, she's over it!

And she still wakes 4 hourly most nights.

Toddlers are trouble in my book! Give me babies any day. She loved chucking herself into the swimming pool today, bum shuffling to the edge and into my arms.

Jammy - my DD will only do stuff when she feels like it. She can get things I ask for & put toys & books away but usually ignores my requests. She joins in with 'bang' when I sing 5 fat sausages but refuses to do it on the phone for daddy & will point & say lots of words until you ask what's that which elicits blank stares. Definitely not a performer. Sounds like the Jamlet is much te same.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/09/2008 20:27

Tallulah - yes, definitely NOT a performer! If she's in the mood she'll happily point (at the right place) when you say "where's mummy's nose?" but if she's not in the mood ...

lol at the chat, my DD is more interested n taking things out of the bin at the moment........and eating it . She must have the constitution of an ox!

but all cuddly toys are either baby, whether they are a doll or an elephant, or Benny (her new favourite who is a golden retriever just like my DSis's dog Ben), even if they are DSs and already have a name!

she loves rummaging in the hat box and putting hats on though and is obsessed with shoes and bags...good girl

and she is most definately a toddler, not a baby anymore

Jamlet likes taking things out of the bin too. Or just stroking it - it's a wire mesh type material (from Ikea) so interesting to touch I guess.

All fruit is a banana in this house but to my nephew everything's an apple. Funny how they latch on to one idea & just won't be persuaded otherwise. Certainly makes for an interesting snack time when they're together. Have some strawberries DD & DN. DD - NAAAA NAAA, DN - AAAA - PLE Repeat ad nauseum.

Storm - is Forres anywhere near to you? Can't remember where you are. There's a meet up being organised there which is why I ask.

jammy, how is your sis doing? any more word from the wandering wally?

fruit here is either nanna or bebby (berry)

I went to sing-a-long sound of music when I was just pregnant with DD...it was fantastic . Are you dressing up?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/09/2008 21:37

I don't think we'll dress up - my sis didn't seem keen and tbh after paying for the tickets I don't think I can splash out on a pair of wigs for us, much as I'd love to (she's blonde, I'm brunette )

She's doing OK-ish. Not her usual happy self, but has done amazingly getting things sorted. Her son, bless him, is moving back home for a while to help with the bills. And she's heard from her H, and has come to an agreement with him over the house. Of course she needs to get it sorted officially but at least he seems to be being reasonable about that. She says she needs a little time to get her head round the idea of divorce but that it is probably going to go that way.

Oh dear, Jamlet started crying and the cat was sick at the exact same moment. DH has never been so keen to go attend to a crying baby

phew, chatty tonight.

re your medication fury, we have a cupboard of the stuff, DHs shoulder/dodgy knee/most bits of his body barring his sperm count, my back and my clicky neck. I think opur GP prescribes it for everything but it's good stuff. And it doesn't seem to have nasty side-effects.

DSS is going home on Thursday. I am to be relieved, but hopefully we can sort something regular out with him and it will be better (but no doubt he won't be in touch again for another year+ until no-one else can deal with him). On Thursday night I will drink too much and wear my Pjs!!!

I am jammy. can't you both grow your hair accordingly? I really want to see Mama Mia. I thought me & my sis's would go but big Dsis wouldn't.

baggins doesn't really do stuff at all, though he is pretty fond of shoes. and he went through a phase of pretending to wipe his bottom with a tissue. He does lots of shrillness though. He screamed for ages tonight

Glad things are looking a bit brighter for Chloe Trace and that the home-made remedy worked. I've put cordial in it as well to disguise the salty flavour, but it does seem to go down better than the over the counter preps.

I've got some clothes as well for you; just need to go through the bags and sort them out.....was it 6-9mo or 9-12mo?

DD is now in 12-18mo stuff but it's drowning her. She has a new pair of dungarees on today and they are rolled up three times at the bottom and she is still tripping herself up on them.

She woke up in a right old grump this morning and has whinged ever since, refusing breakfast or her usual cup of milk and just being stroppy and tantrummy.

And I threw up in the shower, gastric reflux is sooooooore and I feel bloody awful

No worries Trace. I'm sure she'll grow into them soon.

Daisy, hope you're feeling a bit perkier as the day goes on.

Jamlet asleep now, our morning out wore her out. PLus they give us a good lunch at the children's centre on a Weds now, in fact I'm feeling a little sleepy myself...

Great news on Chloe Trace!

L touched some buttons earlier - possibly control or alt and all my screen went tiny and i couldnt add a message or anything - figured out how to get it bigger by luck though!!

Went to a new Toddler group yesterday run by a HV. I was when this heavily pregnant mum dragged her 3yr old son across the floor by his arm with the HV running after her saying "that really isnt appropriate behaviour" and the Mum ignored her!! L enjoyed herself, but not sure if there was anyone my type there!!

feeling much better now thanks and have been mainlining gaviscon all day and taken some ranitidine as well. I think I need to see the GP for a ranitidine prescription as it costs a fortune over the counter.

jbm...you should give it a few more weeks before giving up; there might be someone you click with hiding in the wings.....maybe not the heavily pregnant mumzilla though

trace, I'll have a sort through hopefully at the weekend (if I get that organised, lol). CAT me or FB me your address, or we could meet up somewhere if Chloe is up to it.

DD has worn me out today. She has been miserable all day; not sure the cause. Doesn't appear to be teeth or her arm from her tarzan impression yesterday (tried prodding around her shoulder and she just giggled as it's obviously tickly). she has refused to eat anything all day and has only had one and a bit bananas, a few grapes, half a slice of toast and a couple of (her) handfuls of noodles and half a wee box of raisins that she uncovered from who knows where, and some milk and yogurt. She seems to not want savoury food at all now, unless it's pasta in tomato sauce, but I can't feed her that every meal.....can I? Anyway, I've put her to bed already as I couldn't stand her whinging any longer.
