Wow baby bee is so advanced! Bas still gets the newborn attention when out!

Ellie baby is now at that age where she can determine what she wants and ask for it. You need to make it clear that you hear her and are there, but its still bedtime. Lots of patting etc but don't give her what she wants (a cuddle), just what she needs (security).

Didn't sleep much again- bas wasn't too bad for once but am starting to worry as next week is the last week of float building and dh will be gone 11am - 3am each day. That's hard work with the boys and I am Not Impressed.

Seeing vicar tomorrow to arrange Baptism- awwwww. Been looking for outfits but not found one I like yet. Has to be white- dont want the Canan tinking I didnt listen to his uni lecture on white in the baptism LOL

SalLikesCoffee · 04/09/2008 14:26

Ahhhhh Peachy, post links of any nice Baptism outfits on here, I also have to decide (and is too lazy to do my own work ). I had this "conversation" already with myself, even had the thread to get opinions on whether he'd be too old for a gown, and then decided I wanted a gown for him, something as a family heirloom (as we always Christen quite young, but with passport issues he's grown out of any existing ones). But now, as he's so big, I start wondering again... Whichever way, I'm going to go for something traditional, so will also be white or cream (probably raw silk ish or fine cotton). My mom will be making it, but I have to tell her around now so that she's got enough time. Oh, the pressure.

Ladybee, he looks quite happy. Hehehe, I think it's nice to be "the tallest" for a change. Oh, and never mind the nosh, I keep chuckling at his pics, he looks very longingly at that beer...

Not much sleep here either. Doesn't help that teething and a cold has now hit at the same time. Poor thing is living up to his name: Rudolph the red-nosed "reign dear". . Oh, I should get a life, shouldn't I??

VictorianSqualor · 04/09/2008 15:06

Tried to get Alex to crawl on video but this was all he would do Never work with children or animals.

LadyBee · 04/09/2008 16:20

what a little wriggler!!!

Benedict doesn't do that sort of movement at all - he's v good at staying still sitting and standing, but not very mobile. Think he needs to watch the video too to get the idea

SalLikesCoffee · 04/09/2008 18:35

That's so cool, VS. What a happy little boy too!

scorpio1 · 04/09/2008 20:38

VS he is beautiful, so lovely!! Mimi wriggles lke that too, like they are swimming in mid air, lol

Mimi has her cot today so nice! (Thanks again OMa, emailed you)

Millie looks smaller than your babies....but she is 99.6th centile for height! may be tall and skinny like me maybe. (skinny ish me at mo, lol)

Off to France tomorrow. i shall miss you all

Ellie - I too am a let her cry mummy. You need to be firm with her NOW otherwise you will be doing it for ages, maybe years yet. Obv look out for teeth at this age; if you can't tell what it is then 5 minutes will not hurt, i promise.

SalLikesCoffee · 04/09/2008 20:41

Scorpio, have a lovely time! Will miss you loads.

VictorianSqualor · 04/09/2008 20:51

Miss you Steph!
I'm moving tuesday so will be offline for 10-15 days whilst I wait for the internet to be sorted

oops!
I knew I'd use your RL name eventually

OMaLittle · 04/09/2008 20:56

JUST GORGEOUS!

Scorpio, really pleased you got it, some reason email hasn't come through and was totally paranoid! The chocolates helped me through my paranoia, though . Have an amazing holiday, make sure DH looks after you.

Knackered here today. Having one of those days where I feel like posting 'HOW THE F*CK DOES ANYONE LOOK AFTER MORE THAN ONE CHILD WITHOUT GOING INSANE!'

scorpio1 · 04/09/2008 21:09

OMa - wine though sometimes i look at mimi in her buggy and one child either side and think OMG

VS - will email you my mobile number so can text me if you like! Will be back on 13th so can update you then, lol.

scorpio1 · 04/09/2008 21:13

DH is already looking after me....chinese and wine!

Mimi went to bed at 8pm . 1am, anybody??

OMaLittle · 04/09/2008 21:47

Wine - good call, just polishing off my second glass and hoping DD2 doesn't fancy a 10.30 feed as none expressed and I have been a'boozin.

That was going to be a main thread in chat, by the way. I spend ridiculous amounts of time thinking of mumsnet threads I could start (and never starting any).

Have totally forgotten my highly amusing third point. Maybe I should neck the wine and hit the hay.

VictorianSqualor · 04/09/2008 21:48

I#m being treated too, that easy peasy pasta dish from tescos that I adore, beers and DP has done the housework three days in a row from getting in
He has also agreed to do the night feeds sat if I want but not sure I can be bothered to express.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 04/09/2008 21:51

Well, im off - chinese and some loving

LadyBee · 04/09/2008 23:10

lucky ladies - I made dinner and have just been trying to tidy up a bit, I have a HV coming around at 9:30 tomorrow morning

I think they're checking on me.
Which is good I suppose. Good that they're following up, I mean. Not good that she's arriving at 9:30 in the morning and the place is chaotic.

Have a lovely holiday Scorpio, hope the weather's good for you and you get to eat all the delicious things you've been looking forward to.

VictorianSqualor · 05/09/2008 06:55

I am soooooooooooooooooooo tired
21 weeks of broken sleep fgs, ONCE he slept through, ONCE.
Yes, at the beginning he was great, only waking at 4am but now, ma! one waking?!?!?! you must be kidding. He's up every half an hour from midnight on, then won't go back to sleep form 5.
I've just sat in his room crying begging him to sleep and kicked off at DP when he had he audacity to tell me he 'didn't get much sleep last night so he knows how I feel' WHAT?!?!?! I had Alex in our bed for two hours and he thinks he as a fucking clue??
I've given up on sleep now, it ain't going t happen, I've tried dosing him up on calpol incase it's his teeth but he's still wide awake. I'm tempted to fuck off back to bed and leave him in front of babytv, so tempted.

KnitterInTheNW · 05/09/2008 08:39

I can't resist this.......

VS, maybe he needs some baby rice?

I AM joking, will you get a chance of a lie down during the day?

LadyBee · 05/09/2008 09:13

Poor you VS, What does he do when he wakes up? Is he crying or just awake and making noises?

What's his daytime napping like?

Can you take a nap together today?

Lots of questions and not much help I'm afraid but you do have my sympathy.

DonDons · 05/09/2008 09:44

Hi Ladies
Poor VS - hope your absence means that you are getting some sleep. I have been up since 5 also but will not complain now as your night sounds like a complete mare. Love the video! So cute

Scorpio - you've probably gone already but hope you have a fantastic time.

Ellie - leave her to cry...5 minutes will not hurt her and hopefully after a couple of times she will get the message (it took us about a week IIRC but now A cries only for about a minute when I put her down for naps) - definately worth a try I think. ANs as Scorpio says, she needs to learn sooner rather than later.

LadyB - hope it goes okay with the HV

Right - I'm off to buy a new bathroom. Am I completely insane having my house rebuilt with a 4 month old?

Peachy · 05/09/2008 09:57

pmsl at the baby rice- deffo a sign he needs solids I think lol

Bas has given up on mobility and is concentrating n babbling now lol- mum-um-um over on repeat. Tis fab- ds3 was 2 before he got there

EllieG · 05/09/2008 10:43

Poor VS - I hate it when DH tries to say how tired he is after a night of listening to DD being awake. Especially as I quite often hear him snoring while I am pacing....

Night before last I was so annoyed by the snores that I kicked him hee hee

Scorpio - enjoy your hols lady!

Thanks for advice people. After an argument discussion with DH we are on the same page with the grizzling stuff - we leave and/or pat if just whinging and pick up and cuddle for proper yells.

She slept through again last night! Has done it 5 times now in last two weeks. Mind you, have also had some shockers interspersed so ain't counting chickens. I think her teeth bother her sometimes. Plus she gets windy. Last night she was wriggling round, then did an enourmous fart, and went back to sleep. DH was quite chuffed I think - said 'That's my girl!'. Men.

Mol has turned me into a complete sap, and I have officially lost all brain cells. Was watching her playing with her toes this morning, and Elton John 'Your Song' came on radio, and I blubbed like a baby cos I love her so much. I used to be well 'ard, me.

Having said that, I have NO idea how anyone manages with more than one little one at once, so hats off to ladies that do [ellie goes to doff hat forgetting that she isn't wearing one]

EllieG · 05/09/2008 10:44

That's good babbling from Bas - how old is he now?

Peachy · 05/09/2008 10:46

21 weeks ellie

definitely at the 'older baby' stage now but great fun

EllieG · 05/09/2008 10:53

Bless. Mol can't babble yet though very noisy. Am off to go and make her talk more in competitive-mummy manner. Will be back when she is speaking whole sentences.

Have just checked out your pics - Bas is sweeeeet! Doesn't he look like his bigger brother? Curly haired one - think is your DS3? In that photo anyway.
