December 2006- where they've grown so much we spend more time talking about our lives than our children

Tis a good thing I feel.

Bug season clearly well and truly here, then . Hope your LOs better soon, Oli, and Indith's ds's teeth too.

Am in blur of coughey, fluey, cold, and in good company with poor dd2 who is still waking coughing and splutternig twice a night, and needing medised and pholcodine to keep her throat from getting more inflamed and full than it is. Am not expecting the novel writing course to get off to good start

Interestingly, in the midst of viral daze and static property markets, we seem to have sold our house and bought one nearer dd1's school (less popular road, bigger garden) so I am also in as well as daze

Indith, please don't talk to me about the down side of moving, I am trying hard to stay in denial for a bit...lalalalala....

AQ, its funny how reading about wakeful babies still makes me go all gooey, though the reality, IIRC, doesn't! Wouldn't it be nice if we could loan them out for a few hours around 2am...then capture them back for that morning snuggle

Elibean · 04/11/2008 22:29

Anyone else staying up to watch US elections? dh is

I would if I could sleep all day tomorrow, but....

jabberwocky · 04/11/2008 23:08

Am going to stay up as late as I can - which will not be that late compared to all of you. But flying out early tomorrow so have to watch bedtime more than usual. I'm hoping it gets called early but the way the last two elections went...just hoping the Republicans don't steal this one as well.

Indith · 05/11/2008 07:40

Think I'll pass on those particular snuggles AQ Always happy to play with terries

Great news on the house Eli Moving not that bad...just don't start doing it every year or less! Poor ds has lived in 4 houses so far.

High five Jabber

Didn't stay up, but raced dh to tv this morning before girls up - v v unusual

Thanks, Indith, yes, house moving is something best done only after enough time has elapsed to have forgotten what its like!

AnneOfAvonlea · 05/11/2008 09:28

I stayed up until about 2 to watch . Knackered now though...

AnneOfAvonlea · 05/11/2008 09:29

Actually, that should read : Dh watched tb while I dozed and he nudged me at important moments

Elibean · 05/11/2008 10:48

Someone sent me a funny clip of a song about Sarah Palin...should I post it?? Its slightly rude

Or maybe that would be in bad taste....

AnneOfAvonlea · 05/11/2008 11:21

Yes post please

castlesintheair · 05/11/2008 11:22

Yes, post clip Elibean.

High-five to Jabber (and the rest of us). I didn't have to stay up as I knew Obama was going to win

You sound great AQ. Like you are really taking everything in your stride. Would you like to share your secret??

Congrats on house Elibean and the best of luck with moving We will be doing the same in a year.

Have a good break Jabber, though you've probably gone by now.

jabberwocky · 05/11/2008 12:37

Having a quick peek before I head off to the airport. We are all smiles in the jabber house!!

Congrats on the house btw eli.

Elibean · 05/11/2008 14:00

Happy break, Jabber!

Here it is...

Thanks for congrats, think its probably good though currently in waahh-I-want-to-stay-in-bed-not-move-house mode, which is blurring the issue somewhat

Elibean · 05/11/2008 14:01

now why didn't that work?!

Elibean · 05/11/2008 14:15

Sorry

If you search for 'Sarah Palin song' on www.youtube, its the first listed one!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 05/11/2008 14:32

Eli - well done about the house.

I'm lurking at the moment and not posting much. Too much stuff going on to be drawn in to MN addiction at the moment. (I'm doing a second job)

Elibean · 05/11/2008 15:40

Thanks AofA. Too woolly headed to figure that one out today

Margo, second job? Do you like it? Is the because of the job, or because of not having time to MN much?

Elibean · 05/11/2008 22:34

Is everyone at a firework display?

I let dd1 have her first sparkler tonight, and (dh being at work till late) lit a few minor fireworks in the back garden...dd1 and her friend were in heaven (I was ridiculously nervous, and dd2 was sat firmly in front of Peppa Pig indoors saying 'me peur/scared').

Both of us less snotty/coughy, here's hoping...

How are yours, Oli?

And EV, been thinking of you...miss you!

AnneOfAvonlea · 05/11/2008 23:00

Ahem. Eli....I'm here ;)

Good for you getting fireworks. We're doing some in the back garden at the weekend although the last few years we've had to watch from inside as DD1 has been scared of the noise.

Just been to cinema to see James Bond . DDs went to bed at 7.10 and didnt wake up at all for babysitter. New found freedom....

Olihan · 05/11/2008 23:08

Still snotty (ds2), still hacking coughs (dd), but rattling chest (ds2) and temp (dd) are gone so hopefully we're on the mend...... Good old winter, eh Eli!

Went to the village firework display tonight - ds1 loved it but dd and ds2 got very fed up after the first few fireworks so I brought them home. They weren't scared, just tired and bored, I think! Sparklers were a big hit though, even ds2 held one briefly.

Margo, thinking of you.

BP, glad you are also on the mend, come back soon, we've missed you .

Jabber, have a good break.

Casstles, ((hugs)) for half term, will things improve when you move?

Eli, YAY for selling/buying houses, how exciting . When do you think it'll all go through (piece. string. long, rearrange these words, I know )?

Indith, we're still on canines here (2 more to go ), I'm seriously dreading the back molars, even dd fussed about those and I never knew she was teething until I saw a tooth popping through. Poor mite, but aw at the calpol snuggles - I love those cuddles.

AQ, I want to cuddle your dts - fancy a trip to Cheshire (seeing as you don't have much to do in the day)?

LenniEd · 06/11/2008 12:57

Am still here too - very busy week. Will be back to normal soon... well sort of normal, not sure I really do normal

If you are going to Cheshire AQ then you can stop in with me on the way...

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 06/11/2008 13:49

Sad face because I'm not catching up on here as much.

castlesintheair · 06/11/2008 13:58

Do you mean you actually have a RL Margo? horror

Sorry to hear about all the bugs etc.

Seem to be madly busy again which is probably good as stops me loitering on the internet ...

Elibean · 06/11/2008 14:17

Then back Margo, 'cos we miss you being on more

Oli, much same here - will think of you as my fellow-in-snot. Or something along those lines - forgive brain cells, they are shaking with exhaustion after day 1 of my writing course. House...hopefully end January? Don't want earlier, really, as Xmas and birthdays and dd1 starts f/t school in January so...

I'd send energy vibes to you busy people, Lennied and Castles, but have none left!

Oooooh, a child-free night with 007, A of A

LenniEd · 06/11/2008 19:20

DD has asked to go to bed early again tonight - in bed at 6.30pm 2nd night in a row and she is also poorly - diarrhoea and general grouchiness, although no temp and eating well/running around all day so sure its her teeth.

Anyone else having 'bear issues' all of a sudden? DD now taking about 5 bears into bed with her and wants them in the car, round at other peoples houses etc. etc. I wouldn't mind but 2 of them are bloomin enormous things and I'm not exactly in need of extra stuff to carry around with me.

Eli and Oli - hope you are turning the illness corner - tis miserable.

Don't blame you for waiting on the house Eli - Dec/Jan overwhelming enough without house moves, school etc. etc.

Very jealous of your new found freedom AoA - I was just starting to see the light for a while, but am too pg now to appreciate it - in 2 years time though I have plans, they are starting to get quite extensive...

No Indith, it is not yet December ... or January... and the waiting game begins...

Margo, and BP and others... you know where to find us
