Tis a good thing I feel.

James Bond was great.

Hectic day here with DD2 playdate this am and then DD1 playdate after school. Knackered now.

Indith · 06/11/2008 20:14

But I want it to be December!!!

Rose tinted glasses have a lot to answer for, I just remembered being pg as floating along, rubbing my belly, loving the baby moving.........now I'm remembering the seriously painfull, sharp pokes, the feeling sick when I bend over, the inability to bend down without knowing that there is something to grab to haul myself up, the back ache....

Ah well, head getting further down according to MW and she is coming round on Tues to do my home visit which is great as ds will be in creche so I can get a proper chat and actually get to know her as she is new.

Ds is loving bears too Lennied, thakfully only doudou is needed for bed but he randomly gives other ones cuddles and kisses He is also getting fabulous at actions to songs and starting to speak more (word of the day is "car") though much of it only understandable to me due to lack of consonants Really think we have potential issues there. Am very impressed at his leaps in communication skills though, When he is tugging at me legs I can now say "show me" and he takes me to the TV, fruit bowl etc. Since moving nappy changing stuff downstairs due to laziness on my part he is also being more communicative about needing changing. //ramble

I want to do this Maybe one day......

Work induction tomorrow!

Hope life, coughs, colds etc clear and return our straying members to us. Quiet here with you all missing.

You know it's november when everyone is sick...poor sick mummies and babies. How is dh's chest now, eli have things improved?

Finding it hard to do more than scan tonight, I'm afraid but want to keep up with you all!

Wld love a visit to cheshire, oli & a visit to you too Lennied although haven't actually figured out which county you live in despite posting you various things. Forgot to tell you I sent the baby name book to you as well as you still seem a bit undecided

aoa, bond rocks - am desperately trying to figure out how to see it....

things getting a bit better here, I had dp give them both bottles (not at same time) last night whilst I retired to bed at 10ish and first baby didn't wake until nearly 3 yayayayay! Just feeling v.teary all the time and getting upset over looking frumpy constantly as nothing (even shoes cos my feet grew again) will fit or look nice or if it does ds3 will cover it in sick within 10 mins.

castles, dh working again this weekend?

indith, when is your actual due date ??? You're going to be huge if/when I see you in a couple of weeks, aren't you? The last weeks are such a trial, lucky we do forget about it as I certainly wouldn't have got pg for the 3rd (and hasten to say LAST) time

Olihan · 06/11/2008 22:24

Just spent 2 hours in A&E with ds2. Such fun . Little monkey stood up in his pushchair and flung himself out before I could catch him. Luckily he put his hand out so he didn't smash face first into the floor but he cried so much and kept saying 'my hand hurting' . When I looked at it, his thumb was really swollen and bent a bit oddly. He wouldn't move it and just held his hand away from him, I honestly thought he'd dislocated it. By the time we'd hung around in A&E for a couple of hours before we were triaged the swelling had gone down a bit and he was using it so the nurse thinks it's just a sprain, thank goodness.

On the plus side, we're not drowning in quite so much snot today!

Indith, I am still very of pg ladies - all the recent birth stories on here have made me long to be pg again but my rose tinted glasses are firmly in place too. Remembering the raging heartburn and numb hips in bed every night, not to mention the post birth stitches bring me firmly to my senses .

LenniEd, I was looking at your FB photos the other day and your dd is so grown up looking. She looks so much older than ds2. She is gorgeous with it, though.

Eli, end of Jan is pretty soon. Best get decluttering! I'll send plenty of positive moving vibes over the next few weeks.

Don't the 2nd birthdays start soon? Anyone else struggling to believe that we're soon going to be mothers of 2yos? It doesn't feel like 2 years have passed.

accessorizequeen · 06/11/2008 22:27

Poor little ds2! We were in A&E with ds2 a few months ago, it was horrendous, I hate the place.

I know 2nd birthdays argghhhh, I have to book a party for the boys as they're a week apart & have done nothing. Christmas is coming, christmas is coming (aq runs around flapping her arms in panic....).

must look at FB as well. I have a photo of me holding both the dt's to upload!

Olihan · 06/11/2008 22:28

X-posts AQ - LenniEd is a bit more north of me, somewhere in Greater Manchester area, iirc. I reckon you'd have to go past her to get to me.

If I bring cake, can I come to you when Indith comes?

Olihan · 06/11/2008 22:31

Yup, 3 days between my ds's birthdays and haven't even considered it yet. Or thought about, never mind bought any Birthday/Christmas presents, plus it's DH's 30th just after Xmas, and FIL's 60th

LenniEd · 06/11/2008 23:04

I'm in Lancs ladies - deffo would have to pass me (more or less) to get to Oli from you AQ Am east lancs, but the nice bit, not the horrid bit if you know the place at all you'll know where I mean by the horrid bit
Am on the edge of the Dales, 'tis lovely.

Aaaaaa, thanks Oli - I think she's cute, but only when she's nice! She is quite grown up generally, very laid back and even-tempered most of the time - takes after DH, definately not me in that regard well I'm relatively laid back I spose, but not even tempered. Not at the moment anyhow

MB arrived today AQ - DH has already been pushing it round the garden and DD has taken her toy rabbit for a ride in the carrycot We are all very pleased with it, and have been admiring it most of the afternoon. Now we just need a baby to put in it . Thank you for the names book - what on earth gave you the idea we were undecided hee heee, undecided just doesn't cover it! You accidentally sent me a couple of bits of instructions and things for other stuff in amongst the MB instructions which I have posted back to you. And as for feeling frumpy, it will soon pass - you have only just had the twins and in amongst piles of nappies, vomit and everything else I defy anyone to feel glamourous. You really are doing an amazing job and in 6 months time you'll feel so much better when you've had time to recover.

Indith · 08/11/2008 08:11

Oh the pressure in my arse, why on earth did the child think it was a good idea to wedge its head there at 34 weeks?

Horrible coming down with something/teething nappy, refusall to go to bed, up in the night. Ho hum.

Ds and dh both still sleeping though

OP posts:
Elibean · 08/11/2008 13:55

Sorry, awol again, drowning in homework (writing course) now as well as slightly less snot (I think)....

Oli, poor ds! I'm glad he's ok, and also glad less snotty: long may it last, hopefully immunity built up for the whole winter?!

AQ, dh is much much better thanks - he saw lung specialist who confirmed post-bronchitis inflammation and hopes to take him off asthma meds in a few weeks' time, except for brown inhaler thru' winter as precaution. Am with you on birthday panic, just booked someone who calls herself a Disco Diva for dd's 5th birthday: they can all learn a few moves and prance around working up an appetite for chocolate cake. Might have to join them!

Must go and check FB out one of these days - sooo many photos to catch up on

Am supposed to be writing 1600 words per day, but lucky if I get to 800...even that has me scribbling on the loo, between chores, when I should be asleep, etc. Mad, utterly mad, feel free to have me committed....

Hope everyone is well and un-mad, and that Indith's poor bottom has a better night, and that I surface back to sanity and have time to catch up properly soon

LenniEd · 08/11/2008 18:58

Eli - when I'm writing for uni I am exactly the same. Think it is par for the course unfortunately with study and kids - but makes it extra rewarding in the end, so no you aren't mad, perfectly normal in fact. Don't worry about how much you write - I never used to write as much as most others but found I ended up dumping far less and you will pick up speed once the impotus (spelt wrong!) builds.

Indith - head well down=good news esp with a second baby - perhaps you won't need to wait as long for DC2 - how scary does DC2 sound!

DD still got diarrhoea - 3 days now and I'm starting to worry. No sign of teeth. She's perfectly well otherwise... eating and drinking well and weeing lots so not dehydrated. No temp. Why does she always get ill at the weekend when its a choice between waiting til Monday or A&E. NHS Direct were as helpful as usual

Elibean · 08/11/2008 19:10

Lennied, thanks so much I feel better. Its hard holding on to 'doesn't matter how much I write' when I'm getting Sgt Major emails from the tutor saying 'whats your word count today/keep at it/write write write' etc

Not just me, group emails, not totally paranoid yet

Poor dd...sounds like a bug, though if she's not got a temp and is drinking plenty of fluids it doesn't sound too bad? Horrid for her, and for you, but hopefully not scary IYSWIM? If she's not vomiting, and is drinking, she shouldn't dehydrate - but if you're worried try and send dp out to all night chemist and get rehydration salts (diarolyte) to put in her water. Tastes quite nice too. Hope she's better soon.

DC2 is very scary, trust me, you have only to meet dd2 atm and you'd be shaking in your shoes. She's at the 'Nope' stage and tantrummed all afternoon about not being carried (by me and me alone). Hopefully thats teeth too, though she is TWO in a couple of weeks so.....aaargh...'course, utterly adorable once home, smiling and talking and playing babies with her doudou Bear. Yup, be very afraid

Indith · 08/11/2008 19:13

Eli anything written is fantastic Even if you don't hit the targets from the course then just having made progress you won't want to stop until you are finished. Personally I'm in awe of anyone who can keep the threads of their thoughts together long enough for them to make it to paper.

Still have a head in my arse. I know that it is a good thing it is just bloody uncomfortable. And yes Lennied dc2 does sound very scary! Especially when I realised that 37 weeks and within the time scale for "term" is in 3 weeks time!

I should probably write some Christmas cards!

Ds now has a cold so of course doesn't want to go to bed for the second night in a row. On inspection of his mouth though he also has 2 more back molars than last time I looked! Just one more to go!

OP posts:
Indith · 08/11/2008 19:16

doh! Lennied also meant to say that drinking and weeing is great so I wouldn't worry at all yet, tummy bugs of the poo sort can take a while to get over, just keep the food plain and the fluid intake high.

OP posts:
Indith · 08/11/2008 19:17

Oh and Eli...I'm not listening

Tantrums are not too bad here though...quite amusing really. Told him not to play with a plug today, he stopped, considered for a moment, lay down on the floor and pretended to cry for 30seconds then got up and found something else to destroy play with

OP posts:
AnneOfAvonlea · 08/11/2008 20:11

Terrible Twos seem to have hit here. My 2 have been squabbling all day with 'mine' being the key words.

Lennied - tummy bugs can affect the system for a while. It can take a couple of weeks for it to get back to normal. Try and avoid too much fruity acidic stuff and stick with bread, rice, bananas etc which will bind it all.

LenniEd · 09/11/2008 08:22

Thanks everyone, made me much less worried. No diarrhoea in the night last night so hopefully things getting better although awful runny nappy this morning - trust it to be DHs turn for a lie in

I am very afraid Eli! But I trust you wise women to get me through

castlesintheair · 09/11/2008 09:29

Aww poor DS2 Oli. Hope he is feeling better xx

Hugs to AQ. I remember the same feeling after DD2 was born when I looking at magazines with everyone all dolled up for Xmas and I felt (and looked) like a bucket of lard. Fwiw, when things do settle down and you get the chance, I never feel like making an effort anyway!! You are amazing. Post a piccy and we'll all tell you how gorgeous you are

Eli, less is always more imo You are making me seriously re-think my great idea to re-educate myself! Glad you are all feeling better.

OMG Indith, 3 weeks to go?!!! That went so quickly!!!!

Hope DD is better Lennied. Bugs always last much longer with littlies.

Talking of hospitals (which I always avoid if possible btw) DS has his 1st assessment in 2 weeks. Was bricking it until I spoke to my uncle (dental surgeon) who told me what op involves and how long hospital stay would be and now I'm majorly bricking it Was reassured by cranial osteopath though who thinks just an MRI scan and surgery highly unlikely.

So, who has the first birthday? Jabber or Elibean's iirc??? DD2's birthday is on 30th November. She's such a little horror

Olihan · 09/11/2008 10:42

Indith · 09/11/2008 15:20

Well done Oli, very organised

Castles I'm in denial about the 3 week thing, still counting to 42 weeks which would be 8 weeks left, far more reasonable

Head still in arse, applying pressure where no pressure should ever be applied. Did not sleep well last night, then had to go and remember soldiers with the Rainbows in the freezing cold. This has somewhat been made up for by a pub lunch and coming home to find that ds was in bed. Ds is still snoozing, poor shattered, snotty child.

OP posts:
MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 09/11/2008 21:02

Good luck Castles with the assessment.

An A&E visit on Friday for DD2. She tripped and hit her forehead on the corner of a table. They glued it together, my poor little humpty dumpty.

accessorizequeen · 09/11/2008 21:12

Yikes, Indith, you are getting close! Hope dc moves from your bottom forthwith (although of course it could be down the birth canal hee hee). FWIW, Lennied & Indith, I found no.2 way way easier than no.1 and still do. Although he had his moments today

Lennied, awww hope dd gets better soon. haven't had a chance to email you (or Indith for that matter!) but glad the mb arrived safe & sound & you're happy with it. I so miss pushing it, was a doddle even with one hand as other holding ds1 on his bike.

My little boy learnt to ride without his stabilizers a couple of weeks ago (he's 5 in Dec) and I feel so proud watching him zoom down the street ahead of me! Guess he's not so little anymore...

Eli, v.glad to hear things better with dh, it did go on for long enough. Is he having flu jab as well as asthmatics usually get them? Must go and have mine done!

Jabber if and when you come back, what cake are you going to do for ds2 this year! Turkey was such an idea last year.

I have managed to book a bouncy castle party for the ds's & friends in early december, hope it will be alright. DS1 wants fancy dress for all, so that will be interesting!

Castles, listen to the osteopath and not your uncle! Fingers crossed for ds when time comes. BTW, I ought to stop buying those magazines too but what made me feel really really crap was turning up at my music group last week looking like death (2 hrs sleep) in baggy cardigan and yoga trousers and the woman with the 3 week old has an immaculate all-black outfit with heels and perfect hair. She does only have the 2 dcs but still I felt so rubbish! Neither she nor anyone else there made me feel bad, just my own insecurity. Good friend of mine did a trinny & susannah on me yesterday and forced me to try on lots of stuff I normally say no to - my god I'm stuck in my ways. No skirts, no dresses largely because NO tights, no boots, no jumpers, no gray...I was driving her mad. So came home with gray skirt and tights And I am getting my hair chopped off tomorrow, gamine I think. I will look good for christmas, am ignoring the double, nay triple stomach roll (hard to ignore when tandem feeding twins, let me tell you). And then I will post a photo on FB!

AnneOfAvonlea · 09/11/2008 21:46

AQ - you sound like you're doing fine to me/ If you cant get away with 'comfy' clothes now you never will

I just made DDs nativity costume all by myself!!!! She is an angel and I have used a white cot sheet and silver tinsel to make a long dress with silver cuffs and bottom. I bought a sewing machine to do it and actualy quite enjoyed doing it. Ignoring the sewing machine it only cost me about £4 for tinsel and cotton

Indith · 10/11/2008 15:37

I'm sure ds had clothes on before I went to butter his toast.........

Anne I bow down and worship your sewing skills. One day I shall learn though I doubt I shall ever have my mother's talent.

AQ comfy clothes are allowed, though so are nice, new, make you feel human clothes Shall consult with parents over when dsis and her dp are arriving and mail you!

Poor dd Margo

Feel a bit sorry for ds at the moment. I've been a grotty moo this weekend for various reasons. Better today and we are having quite a nice time but I intended to take him for a good potter this morning but by the time I'd been to the post office and the greengrocer it was all I could do to stagger on the bus home.

The head left my arse overnight, it is now doing interesting things in the frontal regions. Oddly this has made the varicose veins almost go away Not sure if this is a move forwards or backwards in the proceedings since ds didn't bother with this part..he just went "oh bugger I'm overdone...woosh!"

OP posts:
Elibean · 10/11/2008 18:23

I can almost feel your relief, Indith, have been trying to imagine head in bottom and it sounds worse than head in one side feet in the other

Speaking of which, hows the tranny, LenniEd?

Poor dd Margo, is she ok tonight? I hate it when dd2 hurts herself, she always looks so...upset and baffled.

dd2....I had to take her for flu jab tonight (yes, thanks AQ, dh has had one make sure you get yours!) as she still needs one larynx-wise, and she was so excited about going, I kept thinking she would be betrayed and howl when the jab happened but as it turned out she gave the nurse a dirty look but didn't cry, and turned her interest directly to the treat in my pocketses

Writing going not so great, but its still going, so I'm very proud. Thank you Wise Ones Indith and Lennied for helping me keep perspective!
