Well that and our pregnancies and other non-dec '06 children

Tis a good thing I feel.

Congrats Indith!! And Jabber, congrats to you too! Russian and bells....we are a pretty wonderful bunch here

Castles, getting yourself to acupuncture is no mean feat either - I've been needing osteopath for weeks and haven't made it, and I only have the two. Snotty, admittedly, but still

£50 though but good for you for doing it anyway!

Ok, back to snotsnotsnotcoughsnotcoughcough....dd2 did spectacular choking cough in GP reception, got seen super fast, but its 'only' a virus, as I thought. We have AB script in case though, knowing her. Rest of us are deteriorating slowly but surely around her....

Indith · 30/10/2008 15:23

Oh dear Eli, fecking winter with all its bugs. Tis hailing here

Handbells sound like fun

Castles am impressed at your needle sticking. Am at her asking to fit in 3 exercise sessions. I'd have dissolved into fits of giggles and I've just got the one. Did you ask her if she'd mind childminding while you went to the gym?

Jabber I'm sure dc2 will indeed put me straight about the degree. Must keep reminding myself how impossible it was to get work done last year!

Congratulations Indith and Jabber

Castles - what did you make of the acupuncture? I went a couple of years back when my arthritis was bad and found it all a bit strange, but it seemed to work. Was surprised that it didn't hurt, but reminded me too much of that horror film with the man with the pins in his head... No can't remember name of it...

Indith - I managed to get part funded for my Masters so haven't had to pay very much at all, plus have done evening lectures most of the time so only needed very occasional childcare and have managed to get by on relatives and friends rather than anything paid for (in money anyhow ) - so it can be done on a shoestring... although it has been hard work and I've only got one DC so not sure how easy it would be with 2....Guess I'll find out soon...

Sorry to hear about all the bugs Eli - flu shot sounds very wise. Snowing here, so think winter well and truly here. ... I love winter

Indith, have you reached the 'everything is too much effort' stage of pg yet? I am feeling very overwhelmed with the thought of getting DD fed, bathed and in bed... am hoping my lethargy is timely, and I'm not just being downright lazy

Indith · 30/10/2008 17:03

Yup cannot be arsed to do much at all (and there is so much still to be done in getting the house sorted/finishing bits of unpacking etc even before adding the usual housework). Dh is away a lot at the moment too and November is particularly busy Thankfully he is on a travel ban from the end of November Am not even thinking about January though when assessment centres will be frequent and I think the German recruitment will be getting going

OP posts:
Indith · 30/10/2008 17:04

On the plus side my "can't be arsed" attitude has not spread to the biscuits currently in my oven

LenniEd · 30/10/2008 17:21

Yep, much left to do here too - and I flit between mad surges of activity which leave me crippled an hour or two afterwards, and complete apathy for everything. And I am trying to deny any accusations of nesting from DH - why does it irritate me so much when he goes "Someone nesting?" Arrggghhh!

Oooh, bicuits, yum. My lethargy doesn't stretch to food either - am suddenly very hungry all the time...

castlesintheair · 30/10/2008 19:32

Lennied & Indith, I was a major blob of lethargy during 3rd trimester with DD2. You have my sympathy. But make the most of it though, eh

Found accupuncture interesting Lennied. Am fascinated though by all things medical - conventional and alternative. Was quite disappointed not to look down at my body and find 1000s of needles sticking out of it She said I will respond well and weirdly enough got my period today and am not flooding (one of my problems/areas of treatment). So, so far, so good!

Btw, do any of your kind souls know anything about fibroids/endometriosis? Have a thread in general health. Don't know how to link but if anyone does know ... Mwah, mwah

Talking halloween ... the DCs tried on their costumes today. Aaah, bless, will try and post photos on FB soon.

LenniEd · 30/10/2008 19:52

Don't know anything about them I'm afraid but can do links:

What's happening AA?

Am massively bored here. DH working all weekend again. Had mini-breakdown in front of him before he went to work. DS & DD1 comforting me and DS saying "you'll never be the bad guy mummy" made me do one of those huge theatrical sobs where it catches in your throat

babypowder · 02/11/2008 13:48

Remember me?!

I will catch up with the whole thread, but LenniEd had me in stitches with the tranny comment

jabberwocky · 02/11/2008 14:09

Hey bp

awww, castles

Ds2 has been sleeping through for 3 nights in a row!!! Seems to take my dcs til the ripe old age of two to finally get the hang of sleeping . But he's still waking up at 5:00am so I walk around feeling like I've almost gotten a decent night's sleep. So close....

Elibean · 02/11/2008 15:41

I'm here just

Castles, sorry I can't help re the endo/fibroid stuff....could name you a few dozen other gynae/obs issues I'm hot on, but not those. Really hope there's been some help on your thread. Your kids are lovely, I wish you/your dh could get a break from this work thang

LenniEd, do you remember Castles and me having endless tranny convos on our old antenatal thread? If I had time/energy, I'd go find it for you and attempt a link (probably just as well I'm rushing, remembering my last attempt )

Yeay for Jabber's ds2!

Back to snot-cough-whinge-cough (and thats just me)...

Elibean · 02/11/2008 15:42

Ah, helloo BP

Indith · 02/11/2008 20:29

Hello

I was thinking about you today, you've been gone a while

Yay for sleep in the Jabber house.

Very un-MN style {hugs} for Castles.

Got ds back from my parents . The house is way too empty without him. Unfortunately he was delivered back with the news that he has been an angel all week apart from the very end where he was getting shouty, nap refusing, nappy rashed and red cheeked.......True to form he has been the devil child most of the weekend and is off his food I hate back molars.

LenniEd · 02/11/2008 20:29

Hello BP, glad to be of service

Will catch up properly tomorrow, just stopping in so don't lose you all - Castles sorry to hear about your weekend, really hope things improve for you

LenniEd · 02/11/2008 20:31

Ooh, yes we are getting those here too Indith - many demands for calpol and noo-noos are being made. But food seems to be being consumed at a fair old rate so looks like we are only at the start of it yet...

babypowder · 02/11/2008 21:57

All your dentally-advanced children! DD2 is still getting her eye teeth through and thoroughly miserable with them at times.

Jabber, my children don't sleep through the night until they're ...umm...about 6. I have quite detailed fantasies about a full night's sleep!

I'm on the mend now, have been quite poorly and very down, but things are on the up again. Yay

Will join in fully from tomorrow! Glad you're all well.

castlesintheair · 03/11/2008 16:51

Get well soon Elibean et famille

Good to see you back BP

Very ious of your DS free time Indith. I always miss mine too.

I think this is the first time ever that I have really enjoyed the DCs going back to school

Olihan · 04/11/2008 14:55

Just getting you all back on my Threads I'm On list, poorly children are keeping me occupied........

jabberwocky · 04/11/2008 15:23

Well, it was a nice 3 nights but I jinxed myself and he's woken two nights in a row

Getting ready to fly out early tomorrow so won't be around for a week. I hope all the sick dcs and parents are on the mend by then.

Indith · 04/11/2008 21:08

Oh dear, hope for swift recoveries and sleep.

Ds still living the Calpol dream Poor boy. Great advantage was that when his playdate arrived yesterday the calpol was just kicking in and he was in dopy, snuggly mode so didn't care at all that some other toddler was getting all his toys out one by one

He has already woken this evening, was a lovely snuggle once he calmed down though, could happily have gone back to sleep with him.

Snuggled a friend's 5 week old today. I want one. Is it December yet?

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 04/11/2008 21:35

I've got 2 five week olds you can come snuggle, Indith. You can snuggle ds3 between 1 and 6am when he screams the house down (sigh) .My sister's also here those dates you mentioned, she's coming up from Brighton cos it's our birthday on the 21st. I'll try and email you this week about it, need some advice on trying terries on the dt's too.

nice to see you back, bp, glad you're feeling better
