Tis a good thing I feel.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AnneOfAvonlea · 27/10/2008 07:44

Oli - My DDs are very tired and I agree that half term has come at the right time. We have a few playdates booked in. ALthough yesterday they were bored and squabbled all day so I hope I dont get that today. 'Mine' seems to be the fave word in Avonlea at the moment.

jabberwocky · 27/10/2008 15:10

oli, have definitely gained a more appreciative attitude towards dh. It's amazing how just a little change on his part has resulted in a huge shift in my feelings towards him - for the better, obviously

More "mine" from ds2 as well. We had to explain what the terrible twos were to ds1 after he asked why ds2 was "acting this way", lol.

castlesintheair · 27/10/2008 17:45

Good news jabber

And AQ you sound like you are doing really well. Double

God, I'm absolutely shattered. Just back from a 3 day 'holiday' in Cornwall. I feel like going to sleep for a week. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...

castlesintheair · 27/10/2008 17:52

Oh btw, Lennied, DS was breech, DD1 was a tranny and DD2 was a tranny until she turned to head down during labour. They were all cs though. Can't remember your concerns (see previous post) but don't worry: they are all ok (ish).

castlesintheair · 27/10/2008 17:54

Me again! OMG, I can't believe how much DD2 vomitted in the car on way home

Sorry will bu**er orf now

Can't resist using these little twinkie halloween emoticons.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 27/10/2008 18:03

only here could you say my child was a tranny and get awqay with it lololololololol

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 27/10/2008 18:04

sorry - posting and running. I have a pooey bum situation, well not mine, obviously

LenniEd · 27/10/2008 19:02

Oh good (not right word I know ) - lots of you have had transverse babies, I've got loads and loads of questions but will save most of them for now, not worth worrying about it until get to stage where need to be referred. Baby still hasn't shifted and my right lung is completely squashed by his head - feels very strange, don't much like it. I think if he's going to turn it will be breech at least at first as most of the kicks are either on my left side or at the bottom left of my bump. Seems so much more active at night though so hopefully will switch round when I'm stretched out in bed.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 27/10/2008 19:58

Oh Lennied - I've nominated your last sentence as quote of the week

Olihan · 27/10/2008 22:03

LenniEd, I've read somewhere that putting a bag of frozen peas on the area where baby's head is can 'encourage' a baby to move round . ROFL at your last sentence - can't wait to see that quoted on the homepage.

Castles, urgh @ massive amounts of vomit. I hate it when they puke in the car

jabberwocky · 27/10/2008 22:08

btw lenniEd, ds1 was transverse for a bit then turned frank breech. Of course the breech part was only discovered after 36 hours of labor but did explain why he didn't really kick at all the last month or so.

accessorizequeen · 28/10/2008 18:16

LOL at trannies
Oli, parents' evening was 5 mins, think even I can manage that although left mum with dt's, ds1 and tesco delivery - she's such a trooper!

New photo in my pics of dt's.Will add more to FB when I've a free minute, they were so gorgeous this morning posing for me!Am zombie with 2 hrs sleep every night, will get back when things better.

LenniEd · 28/10/2008 20:45

They are gorgeous AQ, I could sit and stare at the photo for ages, so can only imagine how cute they are in real life.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 28/10/2008 20:45

They're lovely ans so much like their elder brother.

castlesintheair · 28/10/2008 20:46

Ahh, they are growing beautifully AQ.

Elibean · 28/10/2008 22:24

at all the halloweeny s here since the weekend!

AQ, your dts are lovely lovely lovely...times two

dd2 has had the hugest cold I've ever encountered since Friday (well of course, we went away Friday) and just woke up choking on snot for the fifth night in a row. I'm not used to sleep deprivation anymore and am, appropriately, a zombie

I think I've caught it too, something to do with sleeping face to face with a germ-bomb no doubt...

Castles, text me when you've recovered from Cornwall (wow, did you drive there? Just you and the dcs? Respect!) and if the viral cloud has abated we can try and get together in whats left of half-term....

Lennied, glad the thought of a tranny is seeming a little less daunting!

Indith · 29/10/2008 13:04

Hello!

Munich was lovely, I have slept sooooo much (sorry AQ ) and eaten far too much. Also just about found the time between meals and naps to see the exhibition that the whole trip was based around seeing.

Flying while so pg is not comfortable.

Ds still amusing himself at my parents'. He adores them. Am slightly though as by all accounts he is perfectly behaved there, when told it is nappy change time he gets his mat and lies down etc etc. Here getting dressed involves shouting at me, nappy change is the most hated thing in the world ever, even if he has done a huge smelly poo he says "no" and escapes when I suggest we change it! He clearly knows that grandparents are worth sucking up to

AQ your twins are beautiful

Lol at the "tranny" talk, gets my vote for quote of the week!

Castles hope you are recovering

Eli fingers crossed the snot doesn't last too long.

Job interview this afternoon, have to leave in less than an hour....feel very unprepared but nom idea what to do to get more prepared. Which probably means I'm about as prepared as I can be it is just that I'm terrified, it has been a while!

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 29/10/2008 16:04

Glad you had a good time in munich, indith, you deserve it when soon enough you'll be knee deep in newborn-ness too! Are you down in Hull again before the new arrival so we can meet up?
I sit and gaze at them for hours too, lennied, you're v.sweet!Sobbed over ds3 last night as I'm a bit emotional at present and know he & dd are my last babies. He's still so tiny but his sister is getting massive, she's outgrown all newborn stuff in 5 days! I guess he's throwing a lot of the good milk up and she keeps it down (sigh).
Eli, hope dd gets better soon and take some echinacea to ward it off! Both dt's, ds2 and nanny full of cold, I best go and have that flu shot...

Indith · 29/10/2008 16:20

I'm down 22nd/23rd November AQ. My sister is coming over too so tis a bit of a family gathering but I expect she and her dp will head off fairly early on the Sunday, they usually do, or we may well go down the Friday night and so have Sat morning before they arrive.

Find out about job tomorrow! Argh! Not sure how interviews went, I'm terrible at those things. My old Russian lecturer kept winking at me...never know what her winks mean. She is the head of the Russian mafia you know.

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 29/10/2008 17:32

Good luck with job indith!

Twins are beautiful x 2, AQ

eli about colds. We've been flirting with allergies and colds here but nothing really serious yet

Got a babysitter and went to a sake tasting night at a local restaurant. Each wine was served with an Asian appetizer. It was yummy!

Elibean · 30/10/2008 09:13

Jabber sounds delicious! Keep flirting and not getting serious, by far the best way

AQ, sorry to hear your house is full of colds too...esp for the dts May they shift fast. dh getting flu shot because of his asthma, dd2 because of her laryngomalacia, and dd1 is taking homeopathic French stuff. I am flagging with large headcold atm and thats done it: I'm off for flu shot asap (will have to be Boots for me) on grounds that someone has to stay well

dd2 off to GP this morning after 6th dreadful night and worsening cough. dd1 now sick too, which is half a relief as her behaviour was pretty awful yesterday, nice to have an explanation. dh, for once, is the well one....

Indith, your interview and interviewers sound fascinating - interviewed by a winking head of Mafia: can I borrow that for my forthcoming writing course please? Good luck! I'm glad Munich was good, agree with AQ, well deserved and timely

Elibean · 30/10/2008 09:14

Tut tut, no marks for consistency with the [h]s.....I blame lack of sleep...

Indith · 30/10/2008 12:16

I am employed I shall be helping the head of the mafia sort out the next crop of Russian students in their year abroad preparations. 100 hours a year to keep my toes in, should make things a bit easier if/when it comes to finding a proper job when dc2 is older.

Mind you I'm feeling the pull of doing another degree........ Unrealistic really unless it had a real point to it. Dh happy for me to be a SAHM but I doubt he'd be quite as happy paying course costs and childcare just because I want to do more linguistics.

Hope the snot is abating chez Eli

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 30/10/2008 13:02

Congratulations Indith!!

I wouldn't worry too much about the second degree longing - baby #2 will put that out of your head soon enough, if only from the sleep deprivation, lol.

eli, so sorry that (almost)everyone is down at your house. Nice to hear that dh is on the mend though.

Missed the bit about the twins having a cold, AQ Ds2 had one quite early on as I recall. That's the problem with late year babies I guess. So many bugs going about.

Latest news in the jabber household. I am now officially a full-time member of the handbell choir. I've been doing fill-in and played in the quartet but I have hit the big time and play 4 (?!) of the big bass bells

castlesintheair · 30/10/2008 14:32

Congrats Indith!

Handbells Jabber!! Am so of all of you who are able to do non-children related stuff. I had my 1st accupuncture appointment on Tuesday (had to pay £50 in childcare for the privilege ). Inbetween her holding my hand and saying "I'm so sorry" and "You are doing so well" she asked if I can fit in 3 sessions of exercise before next week. Ha ha! It was quite horrifying to hear myself list my physical list of complaints. No wonder I'm falling apart ...

Hope everyone is snot and nasty bug free soon. A huge bonus for the Castles household (apart from my blood-loss related problems) is that we are a healthy lot
