Evening ladies.
Oh George does not keep still . He is currently climbing up my legs as I type this.
He fell aslepp eating his dinner last night at 6pm. Looked so cute nodding in his chair . Put his jamas on and put him to bed. He woke at 2.25 and had a bottle then woke again at 6.05
We signed ds4 up for two mornings at a playgroup where ds3 went. When he went they wouldn't take any babys with nappies but they do now as long as the parent signs a consent form that the staff can change the nappy. He'll be starting early Novemeber. Just hope he likes it.
Well thats about it realy. Going to see if I can get a teething guard to put on Georges cot as he bites the top and I'm sure it cant be a good thing.
Well have a good weekend everyone whatever your doing. xx

simpson · 12/09/2008 20:33

Forgot to say got DD weighed today and she is now 16lbs 10 ozs so definately getting there!!

I cannot stand my HV I only go as am curious about DD's weight and today was telling HV I have switched DD to follow on milk coz its cheaper, clubcard points etc and she said "no point just put her on cows milk!!"

Imagine if i was a first time mum who believed her!!

Lilyloo · 12/09/2008 21:07

Evening all

DD is teething really badly i am sure she has her front bottom two but she is sooo unsettled. Unless she is being carried around she is winging! We are using Ashton and Parsons just oured from packet on to tongue!
Last night a mare she up basically from 3 until 6 then up at 6.30!
She was tired but unsettled!
DP now in bed and ds still up with me
We all have awful cough and cold! DD1 sent home from nursery and ds had phone call saying he was under weather and would ring back after lunch if he got any worse! Untypical for a man he braved it and did the full school day!
Off to bed soon as i am going to the theatre and out in Manchester tom for my bf 30th. We watching flash dance!

justkeepswimming · 12/09/2008 21:25

think we are all getting colds here too
may overdose everyone on orange juice tomorrow...

am defrosting some expressed bm from a while back so i can leave ds2 with dh tomorrow afternoon while i go out with ds1 and other antenatal friends to the same farm we went to yesterday. ds1 v keen on the idea when i mentioned it earlier - in fact was ready to go at 5pm, lol. had to explain it was closed

ds2 dropping feeds anyway at the mo so dh prob won't need the milk anyway. ds2 happy with water from his cup as well.

gingeme - being nosy here, do you get on with your ex/older boys dad? must be so fab to have them so close after scotland. sure they will love being grown up and travelling on their own

simpson - def recycle toys! we are, tho i didn't think to hide some in the loft for poss presents! but realistically under-1's aren't going to notice number of presents - think the wrapping and lights will be the main attractions

sorry to all those with teething troubles - try nelsons teetha powders for something different.
and sympathies to those with sleep deprivation;
ds2 did have a 12 hour night, then was up at 4 last night for a feed. don't want to deny him atm what with him being weird about bf.
so better than some, worse than some...

been out to dinner with dh, just a quick italian, but was yummy, came home for ben and jerry's ice cream

off to bed soon, sure i meant to answer other questions but.....

MrsMcJnr · 12/09/2008 23:54

Angechica congrats Auntie!!!!

Filly ? you?ll never believe this but DH and I left the house this morning together (I had appointment at potential nursery) and he shut the front door with the keys in the other side so we were locked out ? cue locksmith and mucho hassle and arguing !!

LaTrucha ? I?m with you on things soaking ? yuck!!!! I?ll have to go back to work when I get a job only got a date for the Christening yesterday but yes, making lots of plans I?ll let you know what I discover, I plan to mix the traditions again like we did for our wedding.

Fragolina ? I give Xavier Ashton & Parsons, he loves it, opens his mouth wide for me to tip it onto his tongue I think our babies are meant to have 500-600ml/day but some of that can be in food (as long as it?s ?human? milk not cows) I give Xavier a puree of some sort (veg rather than meat) and a yoghurt at 7pm, he goes to bed @ 9pm.

Hey Madmouse ? Catholic Church like to do these things VERY early on!!

Hello Simpson ? sorry about the buggy hon

Hey Kelix, Gingeme, Lilyloo & JKS!

Nursery was nice and lady was lovely but I?d be happier if DS was a few months older. I think DS crawled today!! he was in his playpen, I was at the gate and said, as a joke ?come to Mummy? and he put one arm in front of the other on all fours and reached me!

Fragolina · 13/09/2008 09:16

Will try eith the ashton and parsons or the nelsons teething powders - thanks guys. T now has her first real cough/cold, up so often last night that I lost count . Still no sign of tooth but lots of crying and whining. This too shall pass, and soon I hope. Sorry, no personals again, but am too tired! Have a good weekend everyone

LaTrucha · 13/09/2008 10:10

.... pray silence and then a slowly mounting drumroll....

DD went to sleep at 7.45, grizzled at midnight and took a few minutes to settle slept until 5am yest that's FIVE AM... then was awake for a while and went back to sleep until 8am, yes, I said EIGHT AM!

I think that's a record in this house...

Enjoy the sunshine all!

Gingeme · 13/09/2008 10:26

LaTrucha but well done to your lo
Sunshine ha ha ha you make me laugh !
JKS yes I do get on well with ex. Hasn't always been this way though. He went a bit when I first met DH. I think it was the realisation that another man was going to bring up his dc. Went to court a few times over it but all settled down. Now things are back on track to the point where he had them for a week when ds3 was born and I had my appendix out 5 weeks later
Oh mrsmcjnr what a hassle shutting your keys in doors Luckily I keep a spare set with my upstairs neighbour so don't have to worry.
On the search for a teethin cot rail. Goerge can stand in his cot now and scrapes his teeth on the top of the cot
Right off out soon.
Have a good day all xxx

simpson · 13/09/2008 11:28

LaT - waiting for sunshine too start here hope it brightens up by 2pm.

DD still shocking lots of screaming etc am going to take her to docs if there is no change on Monday to rule out an ear infection or something although she doesn't have a temperature.

Right best get on and make party bags...

rockdoctor · 13/09/2008 11:39

Just back from our first swimming class! Lots of fun. Thought DD would have a meltdown when the teacher dunked her in the water but she couldn't care less. Think she enjoyed it.

Congratulations on the sleeping La Trucha. How did you get there? I must go back and read the other sleeping thread. We had been going quite well sleeping through from 7 to 7 with one bottle between 11 and midnight but last night we were up from 1 -4 again and then she slept with us from 4am, I think (hope) the top teeth may be coming through and we haven't just reverted to a rubbish sleeping pattern.

Gingeme, we are having the same thing with DD trying to climb up everything. Yesterday morning she managed to stand up in the cot and grab the baby monitor so we woke up to her bashing the baby monitor against the chest of drawers next to her cot - it was a very effective way of getting mum and dad out of bed. I'm also finding naps are a challenge at the moment as she wants to be mobile all the time, result is she's often too tired to eat anything in the evening but I'm trying not to stress.

Congrats on the weight gain Simpson. I'll get DD weighed again on Monday, last time she was 15lb 8oz, so I'm also hoping to crack the 16lb mark this week. My HVs are great but I still worry that she looks so skinny against the other babies - particularly as she's so long.

MrsMc, I started on the nursery visits myself yesterday, got a couple more next week. The one I looked at yesterday seemed quite nice but I'm hoping one nearer home will be better. Unfortunately DD cried and cried the minute I put her down and walked a few feet away to talk to the manager. It's going to be so hard to leave her - it would be great to hear some positive nursery stories from others who have been through it already.

OK, question about paper... I'm sure all the babies here love ripping newspapers and magazines up as much as mine does. Anyone else paranoid about them swallowing the little bits or do you just let them get on with it?

LaTrucha · 13/09/2008 13:25

Half anf half rockdoctor - I don't let her have newspaper or stuff that looks poisonous but I don't stress too much if she eats a bit of kitchen paper - though why she wants to is beyond me. With the sleeping - it's very random. She hardly ate anything yesterday and is teething so I thought we were in for a bad one. She doesn't seem to go by any obvious rules.

Congratulations on weight gain Simpson. DD still about 15lb 5oz. But healthy, which is what I keep telling myself.

Sorry about the 'sun' thing. The weather report this morning said sun, now it said sun and rain.

nicky6 · 13/09/2008 13:53

rockdoctor - dont worry about paper - i went to library last week gave charlie a book to hold whilst i was looking for a couple of books to take out, returned to her buggy 5 minutes later to find her with paper/card all round her mouth and a book with a very soggy corner

All fine here charlie still a little angel most of the time, no teeth though and barely any movement at all but very good with hands and picking p little things , and eating and speaking, but moving hell no too much like effort.

off to a party today and meeting friends for lunch tomorrow
nice weather here though

madmouse · 13/09/2008 16:54

felt heartbroken this morning when I realised what Nathan does when he is on his tummy buries his head in the mat and screams. He is trying to push his upper body off the floor so he can crawl, but because his right arm wont play ball he tries to use his head to push up too . determined though isn't he . and the rest of him is clearly ready to crawl.

oh and he took six consecutive gulps of water from doidy cup and decided to eat my cheese sandwich (well, had a go )

will post later when he is not leaning on my arm sleeping.

LaTrucha · 13/09/2008 19:12

He'll get there MM - Sabela isn't nearly so interested in crawling.

Had such a shock earlier. Sabela has been a little out of sorts today but nothing obviously wrong - no temperature or anything. Then, this afternoon I was feeding her in bed and she suddenly got extremely hot and bright, bright red in the face. She had 39.1 temperature! Phoned NHS direct and they think it's just the teething but we're monitoring her. She seems a bit happier now but she was awful earlier.

COME ON TEETH! How can they cost her this much.

simpson · 13/09/2008 21:00

Am absolutely knackered!! Party was good fun we just let them run round like mad things and had bouncy castle and bubble machine going. Most of the food went too The weather even perked up and we were in garden for most of it.

DS has a ball and went to bed absolutely hanging. DD was not the best and spent most of the day wingeing, nothing new there then!!Wish these damn teeth would hurry up...

justkeepswimming · 13/09/2008 21:18

simpson - glad party went well.

gingeme - sounds like things are civilised now which must make life easier for all. sounds like ds3's arrival was um stressful?

LaT - hope she's ok now? cooler at least. it's amazing what teething can cause.

madmouse - aww that's so sad but...he is still way ahead of ds2 so maybe time and effort will strengthen his arm and he'll be off! prob before ds2 at this rate! he's just too lazy chilled

rockdoctor - i was twitchy with ds1 but more relaxed/careless with ds2, so he has chewed/eaten a sky magazine

nicky - sounds like you have things pretty sorted with charlie

angechica - congrats on new arrival

i know that's not everyone but it's a start!

all ok here, think ds2 going back to more feeds after 2 last night (first time in aaaaages) and lots today. left him with some defrosted ebm and dh so ds1 and i could go off to farm with friends, had fun, mostly in the sandpit but hey whatever floats his boat...

got ideas for jobs in the morning, then out to friends for sunday lunch.
trying to get dh to take monday off as weather is meant to be nice so should make the most of it and go out somewhere....

right, bedtime, night all

madmouse · 13/09/2008 21:38

susie is that really teething? . what do I know Nathan is still toothless, althouh his jaw is lumpy.

simpson so glad party was not the washout you faired

jks, sure your lo is just chilling. glad you had fun in the sandpit.

spent a few hours in church today as it is heritage weekend and the church was open with an exhibition about our local tradition about ribbon weaving. dh and I did a stint in greeting visitors, although Nathan and his smile did most of the work , he is such a social little animal. although I had a pause for a bf while I still had the chance to undress myself . We all slept until 9am (after 6am feed) so just did not manage to get solid lunch in too.

oh well, had a good two course tea, so here is hoping for a quiet night.

madmouse · 13/09/2008 21:38

sorry simpson 'feared' even

madmouse · 13/09/2008 22:01

here's one for a quick laugh funny thread

simpson · 13/09/2008 22:31

Madmouse - i wish my DD was a bit more social She HATES crowds which was she wasn't fun today I think. She is still going through a very clingy phase but is not herself and even slept for 2 hours midday till 2pm Good on nathan for trying to crawl, he sounds a determined little fellow

JKS - Glad you had a good day today and enjoy your Sunday lunch tomorrow

LaT - sorry to hear about Sabela. Hope her temp stays down and she is ok tonight...

Rockdoctor - Have to confess am quite chilled about paper here DD had a good old munch on wrapping paper today

Nicky - Hope you enjoyed the party you went to LOL at soggy book

Gingeme - My brother who lives nearby has our spare set of keys. DD no where near moving in cot and mattress has not even been lowered at all yet!!

Fragolina - teething definitely shall pass This is what I am saying to myself anyway!!Hope you get more sleep tonight.

MrsMcJnr · 13/09/2008 22:54

Hey ladies

Poor you (and Tana) Fragolina, hope she is feeling much better!

LaTrucha ? how much did you enjoy that sleep!! hope it happens again! My DS weighs 8.8kgs now which I think is about 19lb4, he is very long though too, not fat.

Gingeme ? we couldn?t get in at all as the keys were in the other side of the door and it?s a security door so my keys were no good Have you tried kiddicare.com for those teething guards? sure I saw them on there.

Simpson ? poor thing hope she feels better soon. Glad the party went well.

Hey Nicky6

Oh Madmouse if it?s any conciliation, I think they all get frustrated trying to get moving.

Sorry to hear about all the teeth issues DS has just thrown up in his sleep poor little guy

Rockdoctor ? DS starts swimming lessons this week, can?t wait. We had a similar incident with the baby monitor, DS managed to get the baby unit into his cot and was sucking the pin that connects the monitor to the wall and it was still plugged in

Ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrr ? 4 family members (all male I might add) have asked me if I am pg again yet because DS would like a sister, FGS, he?s 7 months old. My FIL is the biggest pain, every week after my MC before we got pg with DS he asked me if I was pg again can?t believe he?s started harassing me already.

simpson · 13/09/2008 22:59

Mrs Mcjnr - that would drive me up the wall

Can you not tell them that you have planned not to have anymore just to get them off your back, then when you do get pg again can say oops??!

Me and Dh were talking about having another DC tonight funnily enough and previously he has been reluctant but now is more keen and I am now rapidly changing my mind!!!

bluebell82 · 14/09/2008 10:21
