That last bit sounded rather cryptic, I meant I wonder how he will get on with the name

simpson · 11/09/2008 18:59

Madmouse - don't worry I knew what you meant

Gingeme - LoL getting banned from e bay is something I would do (by DH obviously!!)

Just when me and DH are stressing about money or lack of it DD's buggy has broken

Its a mothercare citylite which has been handed down and is 5 years old, the chassis looks out of alignment. My dad will pick it up tomorrow as I don't drive and he has a mothercare round the corner from his but TBH I think its knackered

DD does go in the maclaren but she won't sleep in it as she needs to be lying down flat so more expense Grrrr...

DS has been playing on his bouncy castle which we have finally got round to blowing up and he has having melt down in bath having got over tired bless him but DH is coping

Lilyloo · 11/09/2008 20:22

Ladies would highly reccomen selling before buying snything that way you have money in your paypla account so it's as if your not spending anything

Although have had someone ask for first refund as they bought a new watch and hip flask gift set off me for £3.50 but it had been stored on a windowsill so the gift box it was in was faded which i stated but she said it was 'more' faded than i said so she couldn't give it as a gift

Ange 80% pay for 12 mths sounds fab!

Simpson i know what you mean my childcare is more or less more than my wage but only for tax credits it would be waste of time.
Sadly when dp buisness went bust it left us loads of debt so even though it only going to bring in a token gesture we need it!

Sleep still pants here and i am dreading dp going away Sun till Fri for a course with his new job and i will be doing it on my own! Which i have through the night but dp got up with her in the morning so i have stayed in bed until 8!

Madmouse - i like DD in Pj's too easier for night time nappy change but the legs are ALWAYS too long for her SIL bought some for DD when we were in Ireland so hopefully they will fit her.

Lilyloo - I definitely need to assess tax credits etc for when I am not earning any more must make sure I get maximum I am entitled to

LaT - definitely good idea re cranial osteopath. Mums know best would also definitely say doc recommended it, good plan!!

Nicky6 - hope gym went well and creche was ok. I know what you mean about people holding Lo's A few people in ireland were DESPERATE to hold DD and I know they meant well but she is having a really clingy stage ATM and it just upsets her.

Well earlier today whenever i wanted to put something somewhere ie DD's bumbo or bouncy chair her car seat was there!! After about the 10th time (honestly you would think there were 100 car seats in this house) I lost my rag and flung the car seat across the front room and shouted "fucking thing!!" Guess what DS has been saying all afternoon!!

fillybuster · 11/09/2008 22:09

Honestly, I shouldn't have got out of bed this morning...

First, I (finally) got both kids breakfasted, toilet-ed, nappy changed etc and out of the house at 8.55am for ds's nursery...got both into car when the penny dropped....I had left my housekeys and my phone inside the house....

Day just continued in the same vein from there on in....next best moment was at 7.10pm tonight, Tamara screaming blue murder after her birth, ds wanting attention and being overtired, me in kitchen making bottle and being pleased there were exactly 7 scoops left in carton for tonight's bottle when I knocked the damn thing over and suddenly there is bloody formula milk all over the kitchen, all over the floor, dripping inside all the flipping drawers and all over the pan etc inside the drawers (7ozs goes a very very long way, let me tell you)....sigh....

Anyway, dh is out but brought me takeaway home first. We agreed that tonight was not a good night for me to attempt to cook anything at all!! Not even an omelette for myself...!!

Madmouse (and everyone else),check out this site - I found them through MN last year and got quite a few decent quality things for ds for very very little money....cheaper than ebay although I didn't think that was possible. Ds particularly loved his Thomas pyjamas (which were lovely quality), jumper and raincoat

OK, off to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be an improvement...

Fillybuster - sorry you have had such a bad day but LOL How did you get back in house??

lilyloo - Am going to have to stop saying things like that otherwise he will go to pre school saying naughty words

Feck... DD just squawked!! Is definately teeth hope it doesn't go on long... Mean me has sent DH up to give teething powders which seem to be the only thing that works...

Lucky - hope DD was ok today?

MrsMcJnr · 12/09/2008 00:08

Hey ladies, exhausted again, its 12.30am and this is the first bit of me time I?ve had! We have a busy weekend ahead so I?ve been batch cooking for Xavier. I finally managed to track down the Priest and Xavier?s christening is booked for Sunday 26/10 ? better late than never! I have an appointment tomorrow morning at 10am (oh so early!) with the Spanish private nursery in the village, we?ll see how it goes, makes me feel sick just thinking about it. In the afternoon a neighbour and I (and X) are going shopping in Marbella, should be fun!

Lilyloo ? I agree, we need income to do the most important job there is

Angechica ? Maybe I?ll move to Norway!!

Gingeme ? LOL at the extra exercise!! I remember you being banned from eBay too!

Hey Rockdoctor ? lovely to hear from you my DS gets really frustrated too!

Will do Simpson your poor DH! whoops on DS?s new words!

Nicky6 ? same problem here with Velcro it?ll be is nappy next I suspect

LaTrucha ? yup, he?s still on the bottle, 3 a day now. Great eBay win, you won?t look back!

Hello Madmouse

Filly ? hope tomorrow is a better day I can empathise, I knocked 500ml of chicken stock (home made ) over my kitchen floor (which is tiled) so sticky and smelly!

AngeChica · 12/09/2008 08:16

Morning all! SIL's baby has arrived hurrah!! Little girl 8 lb 7. Straightforward LAB. Not at all like my nephew who was 3 weeks early and under 6 lb. No name yet - if I know my brother and SIL she'll be Baby B for days . I have planned visit to Suffolk next week with Alek so I get to see lots of them.

Have a good day all.

DS woke loads last night I'm at my wit's end. He's happy as larry in the daytimes though!

LaTrucha · 12/09/2008 10:20

Hooray! Ange. Glad everything went well. Sorry about sleep. I~ can be of no help whatsoever to you - although we had a decent night last night.

Simpson - if he does it in public just tell them he picked it up from someone else - naughty person!

Filly- oh dear! Hope you didn't have to call a locksmith. I did a similar thing to your formula by playing discus with a pan of chicken soup a while ago. Lord! It's sticky.

Lilyloo- that's a VERY good idea!

MM - how are you? where are you? Sabela actually drank two oz this morning.

MrsMC - Glad it's working out for you. When do you have to go back to work? Are you busy making lots of preparations for the Christening? You'll have to give me the low down on on the Spanish style as we're having Sabela baptised when we go to Spain and I haven't a clue of the ettiquette.

Am completely skiving off the housework as DH, who normally does the washing up at night, left it soaking in the sink.I have a real thing about this. It really repulses me to think of all that food in all that warm water all night. I'm doing anything to keep my hands out of that watwr. Hopefully he'll wake up soon and put me out of my misery.

Off to clean the bathroom, and anything else I can find except that awful washing up....

mixedmama · 12/09/2008 12:18

Just popping on to say we are all back. Will catch up (well prob not as I have missed so much) but will post properlt soon.

Fragolina · 12/09/2008 12:25

Simpson - I thought your maclaren did lie flat - is it not the triumph? Am still dithering over getting the quest. ROFL at your DS and the swearing - sorry, but I can just picture it.
LaT - the cot episode with shrieking thankfully ended, but poor mite has been really whiny and clingy, where is that bl**dy tooth?? Well done Sabela on taking 2oz.
MrsMc - Happy shopping!
Filly - isn't it amazing what a HUGE mess a small quantity of liquid makes? DH had a similar accident with the espresso pot this morning.
For everyone I've missed out, waves have had a couple of days of screams so no mn time to post, but have caught up!

Advice please on teething powders (how do you give them and which ones are good)- the anbesol doesn't seem to be doing anything anymore.

Also - how much milk are the los mean to be having now?

AND also need ideas on what to give for dinner. Was doing just fruit puree and yogurt at about 4:30, but T was waking up hungry in the night, so have now added pitta bread w hummus, but then she didn't drink her milk before bed.

madmouse · 12/09/2008 12:37

hello

Susie did not know I was missing? more sleep equals more energy equals less time on bum mning. I that 20z with bottle? Nathan had a few sips of formula from doidy cup and seemed to like taste so just hates bottle.

typing with baby sleeping on lap can you tell?

nathan fed 2.30 and 6.30am, then slept till 8.30. dh and i are enjoying morning cuddle again

mmrsmc not that late for baptism? Nathans wil prob be after christmas and we are supposed to give example .

ange congrats on little (well not so little) new arrival

hello everyone else.

simpson · 12/09/2008 13:06

fragolina - have got the truimph it does lie back but not totally flat still on a slight recline.

On teething powders we are using Ashtons & Parsons powders got it from boots. Seems to be the only thing working ATM. I just put powder on finger and rub into gums.

Hi to everyone else, will do a better catch up when I have eaten... am starving!!!!

Kelix · 12/09/2008 13:09

hello everyone - havnt been around much recently but hav just managed to more or less catch up.

DD doing very well with food not found anything that she wont eat yet! she loves feeding herself (with her hands = very messy) but doesnt mnd me feeding her either so its all good.

have had a few unsettled nights recently which i am blaming teething for - lumpy gums red cheeky and drooling but still no teeth as yet.

first time ever i have bought xmas prezzies early!! got 14 v-tech toys off e-bay for 35 quid which was great! also picked up about 5-6 other bits for DD over the past few weeks so got to get to toys r us soon for a few more.

my mat pay has run out so i am skint!!

be back soon - hello to all

simpson · 12/09/2008 13:59

MrsMcj - good luck with looking at nursery You have just reminded me I need to do some more cooking for Dcs...

Angechica - congratulations on SIl's LO. DD not great last night either but unfortunately NOT as happy as larry today!!

LaT - hpe DH did the washing up for you

Mixed mama - welcome back

madmouse - go Nathan!! Glad you are getting more sleep

Kelix - Hi desperately counting pennies here too. Are you going back to work??

nicky6 · 12/09/2008 14:20

frag - i bought the new maclaren quest from boots as they have 20% off so it was £80 not cheap but it is great and does go back quite a long way charlie sleeps in it no problem.

gym and creche all good although they need letter from my physio before i can go again .

went swimming this morning and charlie has now been asleep for 1 and a quarter hours hence me mumsnetting.

Off to deliver forms for the local catholic school and nursery as apparently you have to do it really early....unbelievable.

Bought charlie a whole new winter winter wardrobe from sainsburys

Lunch time today charlie started screaming at end of main course - i know my cooking is nice but thats ridiculous - actually not that nice at all. so had to give her her usual big bowl of chicken and vegetable and potato then a slice of bread and butter and then a yoghurt - she still had one eye and a few little grunts towards my sandwich - but no complaints taken to food really well .

LaTrucha · 12/09/2008 14:29

Oh no MM - that means two! It's better than one which is her normal intkae. I just give her a bottle after breakfast to get her used to it. She used to just chew and sip but in the last couple of days she's started proper sucking. I don't think I'm going to try anything more until she's 9 months, although she took 4oz from DH one night.

He did help me with the washing up! He LIKES it!

She's teething like hell today and not eating. COME ON ALREADY TEETH!

Got to put baby to bed.. back soon.

madmouse · 12/09/2008 14:39

susie try doidy cup, it looks a bit funny but makes so much sense. it will appeal to Sabela's independent streak, which like Nathan's is about a mile wide.

Got it via Amazon [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doidy-Cup-Light-Green/dp/B0012GFV7S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=122122672 9&sr=8-3 here]]

madmouse · 12/09/2008 14:40

here

LaTrucha · 12/09/2008 14:53

Yup, I keep meaning to get one of those. It's good?

simpson · 12/09/2008 17:55

Just spoken to mothercare and described whats wrong with DD's buggy and its definitely knackered not worth fixing it so have to buy another one. Grrr...

Just wish we had got insurance for flight as it is definitely caused by being chucked about on plane

I need to have a single buggy with a big shopping basket as neither me or DH drive and don't want to take the double out with just one child in it as its SOOOO wide.

Both Dcs have had total melt down this afternoon. DD is in bed but will be woken at 7 for feed in room and DS is so tired (and I want him fresh for birthday party tomorrow) I think he will be in bed by 6.30.
