MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 22:32

I never get a chance to come online much nowadays.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 22:37

ok well just pop in now and again to let us know youre ok?

simpson · 31/08/2008 22:37

Hi Awen don't think we have "chatted" before am relatively new!!

DD had her first BLW meal today roast dinner and did ok a bit of gagging but not much although is lazy and wants me to put food in mouth, guess she is used to spoon but we are getting there!!
She had a strawberry today for first time for pudding.

Has anyone given their LO grapes BLW style?? Do you have to peel it or just cut in half and let her suck it out iyswim?? Want to try it tomorrow.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 22:38

Not done grapes they scare me too much.

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 22:41

Grape i cut in half and ds sucks the inside out. Only started him on these last week. He loves nectarines now. JUst put some new pics on.

Hi simpson when is your lo birthday. Mine's 27 Dec.. slo strictly i should =nt be on here but went through the pregnancy with these lovely ladies

simpson · 31/08/2008 22:47

Cheers thats what I thought about grapes, going to try tomorrow. Also going to try banana again as it did not go down very well last week.

My DD was born 29th jan. She is tiny although now starting to look decidedly chubby. She is no where near as advanced as your Lo. Her trick for the last few weeks is rolling but no where near moving, standing etc... Her fav thing is activity station and whizzing round and round in seat!!

Going to really persevere with BLW when we get back from Ireland. It was my aim all along TBH but got sucked into buying jars etc. She has had a few things like broccoli, bread sticks, rice cakes, pasta etc.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 22:49

Oh Awen Gorgeous piccies - DD's got one of those piano thingies and loves it. Never tried it with just 2 feet on though. Hmmmm
ideas flowing. lol

Co-sleeping - did you always do it with DS naked? I never did that as I was too scared she'd get cold wish I had now.

As for grapes I'm still abit of a wimp so will wait a little while longer.

simpson · 31/08/2008 22:51

Awen love the pic of him in the sink

gingeme · 31/08/2008 22:57

Hey Awen long time no post. Your babys are so cute. Glad your doing well.
Just to let you know George pulls himself up ALL the time on the furniture now I just cant believe how early he is doing this. He started in his cot Friday but pulls himself up on the sofa now and has been doing it all day. Dh reckons hell be walking before Christmas
Re baby proofing:
Plug covers
Wires hidden as best you can
If you have other dc things like lego, crayons, matchbox cars etc up up up out the way.
Tissue boxes up.
Basicaly everything up out the way.
Stair gate at the foot of stairs and in doorways like kitchens and bathrooms.
Erm think thats it.
Youll work it out as baby gets more on the move.
Well Ive had a pretty busy day today so I'll bid you all hopefuly a goodnight xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 22:58

lucky - all 4 feet on it now.. he moves around the whole table. The annoying thing is i really didnt expect him to be mobile so fast and ds1 only crawled at 8 months and didnt walk till he was over a year old. Dont tend to co-sleep nakey but when very hot in the day I strip him off for feed (he wont nap in his cot).. I need to remedy that as at the moment i spend every nap time napping too! Not good really.

Thanks simpson Re the blw, i have listed loads of stuff he likes but he doesnt eat much of anything really in terms of clearing his plate iykwim. He will not 'eat' strwaberries' and eat some other foods but alot of it is about sucking the food and explroing it. Dont worry if baby dones seem to be eating much of it as they will have what they need. I find it tricky sometimes as see friends spooning the baby food in to their babies (older ones) and their pbaby now dropped milk feeds etc but i keep reminding myself there is no hurry. Ds is gaining weight and is happy and enjoys food and that is the main thing. Sorry to spout off, not at you just realising what i have been thinking when i am asked by family, is he dropping his milk feeds, or comments like 'youve bfed him for long enough you can stop now if you want .. tsk

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 23:00

Not got stair gate at bottom of stairs but got one of those roller ones at the top.

Forgot to say that ds2 been managing to catch the bunny and has tried eating him! lol

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 23:00

DD has only just started dropping a feed and its normally the 1pm (ish) one cos she's sleeping. Other than that she still drinks 4/5 8oz bottles a day. AS long as she wants it i'll give it to her.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 23:02

LMAO Awen - DD tries to eat the cats tail but the thing is he's stupid enough to lie and let her. She pulls clumps of his hair out and he purrs!! Stupid cat. lol

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 23:19

lol about the cats letting her, the bunny is just as stupid. Samuel still having 6 feeds a day (no idea how much he has) the other day he fed for 3 hours but he had been poorly so i think it was a catch up. Alot of it is about comfort for him too, he uses it to go to sleep. Last night he woke up a fair bit but i think it was because he sensed things were different, his daddy on other side of the world and his brother wasnt here.

MrsMcJnr · 31/08/2008 23:24

Back again
Gingeme ? glad you had a good time at the wedding but sorry to hear about poor George clear outs feel good don?t they?
LaTrucha ? wow! Mobile Sabela!!
Lucky ? room done?
Thanks Simpson (why didn?t I think of that?) basically, I can get it sent to a PO Box in the UK and then have it brought over by courier but it will cost me 1 euro for every 100g ? so is it worth paying 100 euros for it in addition to the original cost don?t know. It is virtually impossible to get them here and Kiddicare won?t send to me. Better have a think about this. Sorry to hear you are dreading the trip to Ireland
Angechica ? hope your DS is much better soon.
Oh Awen so lovely to hear from you! So sorry to hear about the fall though, hope you are both ok? What lovely photos! I keep trying to upload new ones but it crashes my pc!
Madmouse ? sorry to hear about the lump, I hope all your worries are put to rest tomorrow.
DS tried chicken today ? Annabel Karmel recipe with apple and sweet potato, he hated it

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 23:33

Nope room not finished but they're not coming for the homecheck till Saturday and DP has promised to help me finish on Wednesday.

LaTrucha · 01/09/2008 08:12

LOL Mrsmc - tried the same one. DD hated it too!

back later.....

Hi Awen! Was wondering about you.

bluebell82 · 01/09/2008 08:13

hello ladies had a horrible weekend Ruby had the runs on fri then I got it and shewouldn't sleep because shehas a new tooth and I feel totally knackered today. Had to steam clean her mattress I've never seen anything like it! But she is also crawling now, all in three days, we had to baby proof the house last night, if I never see sticky back plastic again it will be too soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LaTrucha · 01/09/2008 08:36

SOrry for bad weekend Bluebell. And congratulations on the crawling.

Simpson - I have every sympathy, believe me. Is there anything you can do to get out of it?

Lucky and ~Gingeme at yourmobile children. Well done!

MM - shocking nights here too. IT happened last time she ahd a tooth come through so maybe it's the same again but essentially she has only slept one night out of the last 4. She just plays and plays until she gets fed up then cries, feeds a bit gets a bit sleepy, maybe sleeps for 40 minutes and then it all starts again. She's really well otherwise but it can't be good for her.

Sabela 8 months today! Not quite mobile yet and I think we have more teeth on the way because she's stopped sleeping again like she did when DH was away and the first teeth came through. I've cleaned the whole of downstaris this morning already. We were all up at about 6 because we thought she'd get tired for her nap but she's still going strong. Curse teething!

See you later!

justkeepswimming · 01/09/2008 09:36

awen, great to see you back

ds2 at grabbing stage too - and scratching too, ouch.
ds2 up once a night at the mo, have given in and am feeding him again just couldn't face the 4am starts when i was trying to resist!
sometimes he goes to 5.30 tho, so we are getting there...

mrsmc - the entertainers are fab - but they will grow out of them fairly quickly so bear that in mind.

gingeme & lucky - good clearing out going on! putting me to shame (well me & dh as he's meant to be helping ).

simpson - you have my sympathies just got back from 2 days at in-laws, i really wonder why we put ourselves through it.....argh sums it up!
dh actually said that once his brother emigrates (next year sometime) we will have no reason to go there so they can just come to us - hoorah
tho i think mil is not that keen coming here cos of our cats - anyone allergic who can give me tips on how to make life better for her when she's here? thinking of laminating the floor in 'her' bedroom instead of carpet as a start...

well in-laws liked their 'ruby' anniversary presents (laundry basket full of themed presents, curry sauce, ruby wax pic, lyrics & guitar music of 'ruby' songs, etc.), so that part was worth it i guess...

right, dh back to work , tho still locally rather than london for now, and got lots of laundry/jobs to do today, so best get on with them!

LuckySalem · 01/09/2008 12:55

JKS - DP promised to help me finish on Wednesday cos there's things that are too heavy for me to lift now... we'll see

simpson · 01/09/2008 13:39

All this talk of clearing stuff out has inspired me I have gone through DS's toy box which was starting to take over the whole front room got rid of a big bin liner full of stuff he doesn't play with anymore.

DD has been awake since 8am She has showed no signs of being tired but have now put her down.

LaT - Unfortunately cannot get out of trip MIL is hell. Will think nothing of going into room DD is in and getting her out of bed coz she was crying when I had said I was trying to settle for bed and Lo was in strange house. (This is what she did with DS). Also stripping ALL clothes off coz she thought LO wet or nappy not on properly when Lo had just been changed

Ange - Hope Lo better today.

Madmouse - hope Nathan ok

LuckySalem · 01/09/2008 13:40

Simpson - My mum does that with the stripping thing but she does it cos she thinks fresh air shold get there and I agree so don't mind too much. DD LOVES it.

simpson · 01/09/2008 13:46

Lucky - My mum changes DD's nappy etc but its just the way MIL does it, I can't explain but I do think its important for her to ask permission from me. Maybe I am over reacting a bit but DD doesn't even know who she is

I will also get the "she is much better for DH"
Grrrr....

JKS - good luck with boring chores

An all mighty battle going on upstairs!!! DD screaming blue murder for nap and keeps rolling on tummy. She is over tired but I have been in town all morning and she has been in buggy and could have slept then...

LuckySalem · 01/09/2008 13:47

I had a battle with DD about 1 hour ago to get her to go to sleep (she normally sleeps 10-12 but wouldn't today) I'm glad she's sleeping now though. She needs it.
