Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Good morning ladies. Had a lovely time at my ss wedding. Was very romantic and floaty Unfortunately no children were allowed to go to either so dh went to the reception on his own . We left the boys at my sil which the bigger two loved because she has a full size trampoline in her garden. George however hated it. Wouldn't eat or sleep just wanred to be carried all the time. My sil even tried him with a dummy, she has a 3 year old who has a couple of dummys, but he wouldn't have it. Once dh and I got there he polished off a bottle and dropped off to sleep
Have just had mega blitz of the flat and cleared out our hallway cupboard and am throwing away loads of stuff like old mops and an old old camp bed. Feels good
Right I'm off for a shower as I'm 'glowing'
Have a good day all xx

LaTrucha · 31/08/2008 12:24

Sorry - just popping in to ask a question -

What have you done / do I need to do to child-proof our house? I've read the gazillion pages in 'what to expect' and I'm terrified!

If there was any sleeping going on in our house last night, it wasn't me or dd. She decided to try and learn to crawl at 2am this morning. I'm not joking. Bum up in the air, legs going!

simpson · 31/08/2008 12:25

I just want to say "happy birthday" to my DS.

He has loved all his presents so far. Am taking the bike to my mum's house where my brother and dad can put it together for me.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 14:11

Happy Birthday all whose it is - Sorry got really crap brain today.

MrsMcJnr · 31/08/2008 14:22

Simpson ? odd question I know but how much do you think that activity station weighs? Thanks it looks really fun Happy birthday to your DS! hope you didn?t have a bad night with DD last night and that she slept through.

So glad it went well Lilyloo

Lucky ? how is the spare room looking? I can recommend Gumtree for getting rid of stuff, that?s how I cleared our house in Scotland!

More later off to BBQ at Mum and Dad?s

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 16:31

I'm freecycling everything and its near enough all going today
I've cleared about half the room should only take me another 2/3 hours to finish lol

gingeme · 31/08/2008 16:47

Ive had a mega clear out today too but can't be asked to freecycle it all cause I just want it all out the house. We were going to do a car boot with it all but I'm just sick of it all so dh will take it to the charity shop tommorrow.
Oh ds5 ate potatoe waffles and a fish finger for his lunch today. Ate the lot without a hitch Think I might be putting the jars on hold for a bit .....

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 16:50

Ginge - sounds like he likes this finger food lark. lol

simpson · 31/08/2008 18:22

Talking of finger food DD ate her first roast dinner today she had some chicken which went down out a treat and some broccoli too.

DS had a great time and LOVES his bike but has to learn to balance on it properly.

Lucky - hope you get rid of your stuff on free cycle.

MrsMcjr - Have googled it and weight and dimensions are: 23.2 x 71.1 x 72.1cms weight 10kgs. Another person said 9.1 x 28 x 28.4 inches weighing 21 lbs. Hope that helps

Gingeme - I would love to get rid of jars but DD seems hooked Suprisingly she has now decided she only likes the savoury ones like veg, or meat ones.

simpson · 31/08/2008 18:51

LaT - I have done absolutely nothing to baby proof house yet (bad mummy)but DD is a long way off moving around but not looking forward to it.

Oh I lie I have just thought of something, we have put all the glass photo frames high up on the top shelves

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 18:55

All gone except the 2 cabinets. Although I'm sure I'll find some more when I do abit tonight.

LaTrucha · 31/08/2008 19:39

IT's really our bookshelf I'm worried about. Do we have to get rid of them somehow?

Sounds good about the finger food gingeme - have been thinking about a fish finger or two myself. She's still terribly fussy still though and there are a lot of jars here too. Expensive!

Well done Lucky!

AngeChica · 31/08/2008 20:58

LaT - we need to childproof ASAP: DS is well and truly on the move. Also as soon as I lie him on back now he flips over and starts to crawl away (incl nappy changing). Also have found him crawling round cot at night (gets tangled in grobag - gets cross) and sitting up in corner of cot, being so used to seeing him lie where you plonked him, it's really freaky at first. You have to re-evaluate all previous habits i.e. I cannot leave him on sofas or beds any more!!!

Bookshelves: you can fix them to wall with L shaped brackets so they can't tip over, then just keep toys and babybooks on lower shelves.

4 bad nights so far. DS still has his virus - Still sleepy and whingey. Now has mild rash on torso. Not too concerned though, he's still eating and drinking well.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 21:24

I hope he has a better night for you tonight.

I don't want to be a scaremonger but you have checked for meningitus? What with the rash appearing.

simpson · 31/08/2008 22:03

Stressing about trip to Ireland. Is a major headache trying to get car seats, travel cot sorted etc.

Everyone thinks it will be ok for all 4 of us to be in one room and I am made out to be the bad person because I am not happy about it. Just want the 2 Dcs separated. Fair enough MIL's house is small but BIL has a motor home and was going to park it in drive for DH and DS but has now announced 2 days before we go he doesn't want to do it as its his "pride & joy"

Also had lots of comments about how DD should be going through the night and she should not wake DS up in night as she is 7mths

The fact is that she does go through the night (but that is beside the point) she just wants to go to bed so early so sleeps from 6pm till 5am, feeds then sleeps till 7/8am.

God dreading trip can you tell

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 22:11

Hello how is everyone. Sorry not been around. Been very hectic here with moving house etc etc etc.

Baby is dong very well, 91st centile, still bf, on solids (did the blw route, which is very messy!) He has a fascination with dropping everything of his handysitt and then laughing and pointing at it.. that or pitching it across the kitchen!

He has been crawling since 6.5 months (started off backwards ) now pulls to standing (occasional free stands for a second or two but i keep missing it) and cruising on sofa. ONly 2 bottom teeth and they have been hard work coming through. Still in our bedroom but been in cot for about 4 weeks from when he fell out of bed. He doesnt like it and often snuggles in with me in the early hours.. I am a sucker!

Dp away again for 2 weeks and first time really since baby born. Finding it hard especially as baby and i fell downstairs today. Lucky neighbour is gp who gave ds all clear but i am still upset about it.

He is making sounds that sound like words like mum mum when wanting me/milk/cuddles/sleep and when he woke from nap yesterday he said hew wo

I there anyone who can do a run down of events on here? I am sorry i am a crap mnetter

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 22:14

re the food, basically is having what we have as long as low salt. His fav things are fruits.. strawberrys, nectarine, grapes, tomatoes. Tried olives yesterday and he loves them, oh and bbq chicken and tomato pasta. Still having lots of milk feeds though but am letting him lead when he wants to cut them down.

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 22:15

AWEN Wondered where you been, glad you're back now. BLW is sooo much fun isnt' it? lol

Sorry about the fall.

I'm crap at round ups too and have already forgotten half of what's happened today!! lol

I can give you a round up of DD if you want? but that's about it. lol

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2008 22:17

oo yes lucky how is she doing? Nice to hear what the babies are getting up to.

madmouse · 31/08/2008 22:18

Hi all

Rubbish nights here. Despairing of ever sleeping through, helped by kind ladies in church saying teirs was 18months and still putting them in the car at 2am to get them to sleep

Discovered Nathan has a huge (1.5in by 1in) lump on his left bum, near his hip somewhere. Freaked out when I discovered it this morning, told dh just before going into church (he came from another service) who told me to calm down and not be silly, but when he felt the thing for himself he wanted it checked out on Monday. In the end I phoned out of hours doc who was very pleasant and said that it cannot be anything nasty and to show it to health visitor or gp but not to worry. It does not hurt, it is not red or sensitive. She asked (perceptive woman! ) are you thinking about cancer. Err yes, bone cancer, leukemia, non hogkins, she said no way, not happening. Her confidence reassured me, but i am very curious to know what it is. Am going to get him weighed tomorrow and will asked hv, which doc thought as best idea. I am such a worrier. I always knew that would be the hardest part of parenting. God help us all when he is 18 and wants to go whitewater rafting in the rainforest

Ginge and Lucky, hard work ladies well done. Lucky pmsl at the pepper and salt kits

Physio coming 9am, better be up on time. And curious what Nathan has put on. he feels huge and his face has gone all chubby.

Night all

LuckySalem · 31/08/2008 22:21

Well {proud mummy beware}

She's now 15lbs (75th percentile) but short! (just like me lol) She is BLW too, Although she does have the odd jar here and there when SHE wants it. If she doesn't want it as soon as I get them out the cupboard I get a yell from her! lol so then I have to cook but its making me eat alot healthier which is a good job.

Development - She sits alone, pulls to standing, cruises either along the sofa or grabs your hands and just walks off. lol She hasn't grasped crawling yet - just pushes herself backwards and in circles. We've had a couple of "hiya's" off her but I really don't think they're delibrate.
She's just started to get from belly to butt now and a couple of mornings I've woke to find her standing in her cot giggling at me

All in all she's a very happy bright 7 1/2 month old.

madmouse · 31/08/2008 22:21
