Thought I'd start a new thread before we ran out of space! Couldn't remember the exact name suggestion so have paraphrased, the sentiment is still the same though...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hedgehog1979 · 20/08/2008 19:54

SBBP Sorry you feel like that, not sure if you have made any suggestions to me but if you have thanks. It is hard though to read all the posts and then comment on everyones so sorry if you feel ignored.

Am about to be banished from the living room as 'the men' (DH and Isaac) are going to watch the England game.

Sorry if this is TMI but has anyone else's period come back yet? Have had the tell tale cramps all day and it has now reared it's ugly head, was hoping that by BF would be able to delay it and hence save some cash too -obviously not, and Isaac is only 8 weeks old

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 19:56

hedgehog, as I said I'm probably being paranoid. Sorry . Don't know why I'm feeling so crap today - went to our IVF clinic yesterday and it hit me that I've got to do it all again next year and maybe that's why I'm feeling so bad.

Btw, yes, my periods came back two weeks ago but I'm ff so was expecting it anyway.

hedgehog1979 · 20/08/2008 20:10

SBBP Sorry you are feeling so rubbish, just think of how well you have done so far. Just had a quick butchers at your profile and he really is georgous. Surely it's worth it for another one of those .

fungle · 20/08/2008 20:15

Sponge, you have given me words of kindness and wisdom, and I am guilty if not doing much in the way of personal replys, I dont know how some people manage it. I will try harder in future because i know how you feel, sometimes I have felt the same.
Thankyou to everyone for support on the FF issue. Like many have said, its none of anyone elses buisness, and we are all happy to have made the hard choice to switch.
Re periods, I was chatting to a freind today about em, Im expecting mine back within the month. They returned 6 weeks after stopping BF DD1. They returned worse im afraid to say. I was always blessed with quite easy pain free periods before DD1. Hope there not too bad this time.
Well, LO is still fighting the daytime sleep, did ok today tho cos we where out and about in the pushchair. I LOVE my pushchair! Made sure i got one that was very good this time as i dont drive and it is a very important piece of kit! Mamas and Papas sport. Anyone else got one?
Very envious of those with big sleeps. I honestly dont expect it for a long time. DD 1 didnt sleep through till 2 years old!! Was totally milk reliant, my fault but its a hard habit to break.
Today LO has gone to sleep not wanting the dummy. Keeps trying to find her fingers/thumb to suck. Would be very pleased if she did

poppy34 · 20/08/2008 20:15

sbsp -think people have to dash in to post so quickly that stuff inadvertently gets missed.. sounds like you've got lots on your plate with the IVF but it'll be worth it. Plus keep posting as we can hopefully give you a bit of support if we poss can....

And if your period coming back bound to make you emotional (still waiting for mine but bound to be a lovely bout of PMT when it does hit)

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/08/2008 20:20

sponge i postyed many times and was completely ignored which is why I initially left the thread as it is upsetting, I would give info that people were asking for and it would be go unacknowledged, so you are not the only one and they will come back to you.

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 20:34

hedgehog, thank you, yes he is gorgeous - I just hope I get to have another one . .

fungle, I don't want to sound like a spoilt child demanding that everyone focuses on me, but it been quite a number of posts that had been ignored and in my paranoid state I thought I wasn't welcome anymore or maybe that what I was saying was total crap cos I'm doing it all wrong . I feel like such a useless mother sometimes and that my little boy deserves something better .

poppy, thank you for the offer of support - I won't be going through another cycle for some months as need to lose the baby weight first but I hope that I can post about it next year and not bore everyone to tears.

5gomad, thank you too. Btw, I think your guest was a complete tit and think I would have said the same to him.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/08/2008 20:36

YOu are also not a useless mother, think about all the good things you do for him and how much joy he brings into your life.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/08/2008 20:37

Oh and have started doing the GI diet, weight is coming off, portions are big and really enjoying it.

katyjo · 20/08/2008 20:42

sponge Sorry your feeling crap I really hope I haven't ignored any of your posts. I find I end up scanning the posts and getting distracted then when I come to reply sometimes I can't remember who said what. I really appreciate all the advice and support from everyone on this thread it means alot to me and I love hearing everyones news and stories. Big hugs to you, I will make more of an effort .

fungle I think I saw those in m&p do they look a bit like a bugaboo?

Laura I'll be the harassed looking mother who arrives late, and last time I forgot my trainers don't think anyone notice!

Amberc · 20/08/2008 20:48

SBBP Sorry hun - I am rubbish at answering stuff, but quite often my questions go unanswered too and figure people have extremely limited time and just skim through things really quickly like I do. Gonna make more effort from now on! Why do you think you're a useless mother - if you were you wouldn't be coming on here asking questions and giving advice would you? Keep your chin up, I often feel miserable - you just need to have what I call 'a good day' where the baby smiles at you all day and doesn't cry too much!

Re periods - I got mine and it was really short and light - used to have horrific painful periods like niagara falls so am hoping it stays like this forever!! Maybe they got rid of my fibroid when I had my c section or something???

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 20:56

Thank you for all the lovely replies - I know everyone's really busy and as I said I don't want to behave like a spoilt child .

I just felt I was the only one being ignored - I know that sounds paranoid, but that's how I felt.

Anyway, enough said. But please don't any of you feel that you have to reply to everyone's posts from now on. I know that isn't possible and not all the posts are relevant to all of us anyway.

It's just I really enjoy being part of this thread and have received so much useful advice from it, I really want to stay but there's only so much my little ego can take .

Apologies again.

goingfor3 · 20/08/2008 20:58

hedgehog1979 my periods came back at 8 weeks and I'm also bf'ing, though I was very regular before having ds I haven't had one since and he is now 13 weeks old.

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 21:03

Amber, I also used to have really painful periods and mine was also really short and light this time (in fact, bizarrely I noticed I came on on exactly the same day as you and obviously our sons were born on the same day too).

My mum tells me that periods can be much lighter after you've had a period so fingers crossed.

goingfor3 · 20/08/2008 21:04

I know this is shameless showing off but here is a picture of ds.

"my ds"

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 21:05

, of course, I meant after you've had a baby . . . .

katyjo · 20/08/2008 21:05

sponge Oh my god, how can you think you're a useless mother, you've been through so much to give your little boy life. When I feel like that I try to think of all the useless mothers there are in the world, people that don't give a crap about their kids and then think how lucky your little boy is! It's feeling guilty and crap that shows how much we care and makes us f...ing GREAT mums!!

poppy34 · 20/08/2008 21:07

fivegomad...where did you get info on GI diet(book, net site etC)? am very interested as sounds sensible way to lose my lovely tummy..esp if you say you can eat big portions ..and applaud your restraint with your idiot guest

and am hoping amber/sbsp light periods are universal.....still have shedloads of industrial strength pain killers from pre pregnancy

katyjo · 20/08/2008 21:08

GF3 he is so cute and FAMOUS!! I love the outfit too, don't think Mia would appreciate it though!

bitofadramaqueen · 20/08/2008 21:10

Spongebrain just echoing what everyone else says! I pop on our thread a lot but usually by the time I've finished reading the thread S is stirring and I have to rush through my own post. I think sometimes a post can get overtaken by other posts or people are in a hurry. I felt a bit the same when S was born - because I was one of the last to hatch I felt that the response to S's birth was pretty underwhelming when I had tried to make sure that I sent heartfelt congratulations to everyone else on the thread.

If you ask a question and it doesn't get answered its always worth asking again - chances are its just been missed. Just harass everyone - that's what I do now

Periods - not had mine but not long since I stopped expressing. They were a nightmare before so hoping they dont get worse.

Am having serious concerns re: my ladybits and the removal of my stitches. Far TMI even for a public forum - may have to bore you Glasgow ladies with in on the 1st instead!

5gomad glad you're departure from the thread was shortlived!

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 21:13

G43 - cute! Love the jacket too! Did you get a free one for doing the shoot?!

bitofadramaqueen · 20/08/2008 21:16

G$£ check you with your famous baby

bitofadramaqueen · 20/08/2008 21:17

Clearly I meant G43

spongebrainbigpants · 20/08/2008 21:18

katyjo, thank you. Yes, should remind myself of that .

BDQ, will try harassing in future! Sorry to hear about your ladybits - not sure why you need your stitches removed but won't pry!

goingfor3 · 20/08/2008 21:22

Thanks everyone, I nearly cried when I saw the picture and it's nice to have people to show it too as i don't like showing off to real life people! No free clothes unfortuatley!!!
