Hi laydeez

Sorry I've been AWOL for a bit - since our wonderful Portugal holiday, I've not had much time/energy to jump back in to MN!

Hope you're all fine. Well Done Annie with the no booze month - v impressed! Hope all the pregnant ladies are ok.

Ryan grows by the day... I was a bit worried on holiday as he developed a stammer but it seems to have eased off. I talked to his nursery carer and she said all the bi-lingual kids stutter a bit and that it's nothing to worry about at this age. Other than that, he's very cuddely and still a big Mummy's boy! I feel bad for DP cos Ry only ever wants me in the morning and shouts "nooo!" at DP if he goes through to him... Luckily DP is secure enough in himself not to get upset and just takes it in his stride. I know someday soon Ry won't want anything to do with me, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts!

Well, just a quickie "me-me" post to get back on to the thread. Hugs to all, Impy x

HumphreysCorner · 05/10/2008 19:52

Lovely to hear from you Impy and fab piccies.

Tonight I cooked the new potatoes in mint out of the garden as usual but when they were cooked I took the lid off and found a boiled caterpillar which must have been living on the mint. Confessed to DH who was less than impressed but agreed we would eat them and not tell the girls-so we did! Credit crunch and all that, can't throw food out but did throw the caterpillar out though.

Love to all!

Morning Ladies!!

BIG NEWS! Mimi slept through on Saturday night!!! It may well have been that both of us responsible for her care were too comatoze to hear her, or she may have been intoxicated from the fumes from the pub, but neither of us had to get up!! So yaaaaaaaaaay!
She didn't provide a repeat performance last night though, dammit, though she only woke once for a cry and wanted ME, not Daddy.

Also some success on the toilet with Joey, a bribe of Tin Top and Mr Carberettor, and he managed to keep dry all day yesterday (bar once I think). The Excitement and Joy and Utter Over-Whelmedness when he got it! DH is at home now awaiting the arrival of a poo.
I think he probably thought he'd never get it, so when he had a minor success and Did get it, he was just thrilled.
But I wouldn't be ordering a new carpet just yet!

Thanks for all the support for the booze-free month! I must admit I was actually a bit nervous heading off to the pub, but a couple of pints later, and a glass of red and happy as larry! We are going to try and keep it down now, but there will be times when a drink is absolutely necessary! Like today is DH's birthday for instance!

HC, LOL at your caterpillar!!! I would have eaten it too (not the caterpillar, obviously!). What a wildlife filled garden you have!

Impy, lovely photos! What a dreamy boy!

Spin, how's the house shuffle going?!

Pixel, good to hear from you! Emma sounds fab - I find it hilarious when they imitate adults 'GO in the naughty corner NOW!' for instance... No, Mimi, I just dropped my hairbrush, no biggie... mental...

Anyways, best do some work.

ImpyChica · 06/10/2008 20:45

Well done Mimi! Hurrah! And to Joey for a dry day. Time to crack open the bubbly Chez Annie...

Caterpillers are packed with protein - no one would have noticed HC and BIG Happy Birthday for Wednesday!!!! (Oh the beauty of FB!)

Hope the shuffling around is going well Spin. Need to do some big re-sorting of our flat - overrun with baby clothes and dvds. Gone is my minimalist dream!

Thanks for all your nice words about the Ryan pictures. He's the cutest thing. He's currently obsessed with the "lally bundster" (lady monster) who apparently lives in the lift...

GORGE pix of Josh and your boys Bloss!

Emma sounds hilarious, Pixel. Yeah, wish we could have a meet-up... can't believe none of you have ventured out for a mini-break to Madrid! It's v child friendly and the wine is delish....

Well, take it easy, hugs to all, Impy xxx

Long time no see ladies

I see that you managed your booze-free month Annie. Hope the Mimi's sleeping continues to improve. Mostly good here, if we do get a wake up DS is happy with a pat and a slurry 'go back sleep' from either me or DH - now that's progress!

My bump seems to have suddenly grown and I feel like such a waddly thing, have less energy to run after DS when he scoots off. His favourite trick is burrowing down into racks of clothes when we're out in a large shop. I can usually tell where he is as there are stifled giggles and 'I hidin mummy'. He's doing a bit of counting, numbers up to 10 are mainly in place, all colours are blue or 'colour', and he sings along with his little goodnight song. Pleeses and fankoos starting to come along too...

Sorry this is a me post - have skimmed thread, hope all going well

ceebee74 · 07/10/2008 10:27

Rhinestone - love the name, tis fab!! I have to get Josh to pick things up off the floor for me if I drop them as I can't bend down anymore This 'being pg and having a toddler' is great isn't it?

Impy/Pixel - lovely to hear from you both. Ry is just a real cutie isn't he? And Emma sounds like a delight! Josh does the copying thing aswell - in fact DH used a word which I won't repeat in front of him yesterday which Josh repeated - DH has had a very stern talking to and hopefully will not do it again.

Annie great news about Mimi - hopefully that one night is the start of 'sleeping through' forever! And a huge congratulations on a whole dry month -I bet that first drink tasted just lovely!!

Hi to everyone else - did we ever find out where Flick has gone???

Josh's favourite phrase at the moment is 'fankyou mummy' - he says it constantly, even if he is giving you something that you need to say thankyou for! He even said it this morning after I had changed his nappy Even nursery commented on how polite he is - although I know he hasn't picked it up from home .

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 07/10/2008 10:50

Don't know where Flick went-v. mysterious but the 10 days will soon be up and I'm sure all will be revealed.

Big wave!

hi everyone

annie - congrats on the whole month, hope mimi's sleeping continues to improve.

hc - love the caterpillar story, would have ate the potatoes too

impy - good to hear from you, gorgeous pics

bloss, cb & spin - gorgeous pics too

rhinestone/cb - not looking forward to the getting huge bit, already feel tummy swelling, could be all the eating ive been doing though, been following the 'eat whatever makes me feel ok' plan - problem is morning sickness lasts all day so ive been eating non-stop feeling much better since last week so trying to be healthy again

Charlotte is coming on loads lately, speech has improved and its great that she can tell me what she wants now (most of time) saves a lot of frustration. Shes loving jigsaws and play dough just now.

Best be off to bed, good night xx

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 08/10/2008 14:00

Hi Ladies!

I THINK! I THINK! We had another sleep though last night. Does it count if she wakes at 5.30am, glugs some milk and sleeps again til 6.30am? Still, things are on the up, I did think Saturday night was going to be a once-off, but we MAY just be on the way.
Woo hoo!

She was still hysterical when I left her at nursery yesterday though. They said she was ok though after, but she was set off again when DH went to pick her up. Must be very emotional for her! Bless.

Rhinestone, great that the sleep thing is progressing for you too. Hopefully just in time for the new baby!! Then...
Sounds so funny and CUTE in the shops!
I took Mimi 'shopping' once with me (the local one shop!) and she wanted to try on these pink high heels. So funny. The lady didn't have them in her size though...

Beadmum, hope that morning sickness passes soon for you. What a great excuse to eats loads! mmm.

CB, the first drink was ok, not as Oooooh as I was expecting, but I soon got into it! LOL at Josh, what a polite boy he is!

HC, I've finally got round to playing my Scrabble move! Your turn!!

Well, best be off ladies, I have done all of an hour's work today, yoga class, and now I have to head off for my flu jab...

Latery poo

Xmas Grin

TheGoddessBlossom · 08/10/2008 14:19

Happy Birthday HC!! Hope you are being thoroughly spoilt.

I think Flick has gone to the South of France - I think the unresolved question was whether her DH was allowed to go with her....

On day 3 of new job. As CB knows was in Preston Monday and Tuesday, and am in the City today. Have just had a meeting with the CEO (Indian, doesn't get women, sarcasm or humour so you can imagine how that went) thankfully I managed to persuade him to do it whilst sitting in the sunshine outside Pret a Manger instead of in the stuffy board room.

So far so good, not fired yet...it's going to be a lot of pressure i hope I can be a success at it...

DH coped reasonably well with me away for two full days, house was not the pit I expcted it to be and he had even hoovered and done some washing! I was very impressed. I was less impressed by the fact that he was plastered when i got home at 10pm last night but hey, he had bent under the pressure of looking after two small boys on his own, at least he knows what it feels like now. And that's with them in nursery all day!

He did make the comment also that he doesn't think he should be left alone very often with Toby! I think he was mostly joking, but he really really struggles with Toby's whinging, which is pretty relentless sometimes...I think I have more ways of dealing with it than he does and he is not as used to it.

Great news on Mimi's sleeping Annie!

Hi to everyone else.

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 08/10/2008 17:59

Thank you for your B'Day wishes girls.

Bloss-have never been in a board room in my life. It sounds so important-hope it works out for you.

Hope all OK-DH has rung to say have I bought myself any tea. The plot thickens.

I have it from a reliable source (ie Facebook) that Flick is in Langkawi. No mention of DH...

Joey is running around naked in the garden being squirted by DH and weeing on the grass. Mimi is asleep (stroke the wall!) and we are off to a 2 year old's party in 40 mins...

Get off Mumsnet then Annie...

x

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 11/10/2008 15:10

Er where the feck is Langkawi??????????????????????

Have a fun filled afternoon Annie followed swiftly by a glass of the hard stuff.

Afternoon ladies - hope you are all enjoying the sunshine

Annie - I saw that about Flick aswell on Facebook although I also didn't know where Langkawi is/was

Spin - that trampoline sounds brill and love the thought of being able to zip Josh in - with him having the attention span of a gnat, at least we might get him to play on something for longer than 2 minutes

Josh also does his own shopping now - as long as it has Thomas/Percy/James on it, it can be bought and worn

Hope everyone else is ok.

Not much going on here either tbh - just time ticking along until our lives are turned upside down again!

TheGoddessBlossom · 12/10/2008 20:25

Evening all.

Mega busy here. Friday enjoyed my day with the boys, and then went to the wrong park in the afternoon when I wassuppoed to meetup with three friends! Luckily went there with three other friends so still managed to catch up with some people. I blame wine, read the location text whilst squiffy...

Saturday was swimming, tescos (spent most of the time in the loo as both boys are obssessed with going in public loos and then washing their hands ) cousin's party in afternoon, dinner party for 6 last night, Church for Harvest Festival service this morning, visiting my parents, park this avo, BIL here for dinner this evening.

Loads of work to do tonight, and have to do my nails. So hungover so I am a bit disgusted that I haven't been able to resist finishing the bottle of wolfblass left over from last night...

London tomorrow, Bracknell Tuesday, Thame (wherever the hell that is) Wednesday and Swindon Thursday.

Lying down in a dark room whilst the boys watch back to back Peppa Pig on Friday.

Afternoon Ladies!

Bloss your life is far too hectic, I could never keep up. Hello if you are in London

CB how many days left at work now? Not many!! Exciting!

Spin, what a little lady Roshi is! That trampoline sounds brilliant. We were at a two-year-old's party on Saturday and he had a bouncy castle - the 'skidgers' (love that word!) were in Heaven.

Not much to report really, everyone is 'not very well', except me! Mimi woke screaming last night, only to eventually tell me through the sobs, that 'I have a snotty nose'...

Sigh...
