Sorry - for all the typo's. Should read 'She also had a horrible habit of picking up my shoes'

conkertree · 05/01/2009 16:54

happy new year everyone.

great to hear from you mamamila - and congratulations - thats great news.

am now at 24 weeks, so all the kicking is really getting going - its great but the uncomfortable sleeping positions are not so great.

we had a great christmas to - although spent most of early afternoon in the kitchen as pil were round for xmas dinner and it was much more pleasant to be in the kitchen by myself .

new year was fine - was at my brothers and sister and parents there too - but was more fun during the day with the four cousins running around together. could have joined lots of you going to bed well before midnight.

ds loves his train set and for all the sets that say for over 3 years - nonsense - he is loving pushing the train round the track and only breaks it occasionally. now says banana, mummum and daddad, no, and lots of animal and vehicle noises, so it all getting much more fun vocally - sings lots too - am impressed with the definite tune hersetta - we normally know which song ds is singing by his hand actions.

hope those of you back at work are having ok days - mine is rather dull hence the mnetting.

conkertree · 05/01/2009 16:55

too not to

meandjoe · 05/01/2009 17:13

woohoo congratulation mamamila, what a lovely start to the new year! hope the sickness goes soon though. xxx

mamamila · 05/01/2009 19:55

hello hersetta, meandjoe and conkertree, i'm really meet you here again!

so conkertree 24 wks..does that make you due in april? gosh the sleepless nights with a toddler to contend with too. we must be mad.
have you tried one of those long pillow things? i keep looking at the one often advertised on the right hand side of the page, dream genie or something.

does everyone's dc's sleep through the night? mila will sometimes but then will start waking up again at the same time each night and still ends up in our bed most nights, has never fallen asleep in her own cot

mamamila · 05/01/2009 19:57

happy

loler · 05/01/2009 20:42

Congratulations Mama - isn't that no.3? My no.3 is completely fantastic in every way (apart from newly discovered biting!) - hope yours is too!

Shouldn't TT have had her dd? Wonder if she'll come on to say.

I had a very very late new year - lots of friends, loads of kids (one sober adult), too much alcohol and a Wii = dangerous combination. Ended up going to bed at 4am. Was up at 6am when ds1 and his bf were running around shouting with a torch! Think I'm still getting over it!

Have just booked to go to south of france with the same group of friends - will be 4 families with 11 dc. Very much looking forward to it but really must do something about my stomach as will be getting it out in public (well behind a cossie!)

Happy new year - may 2009 be a good vintage!

lizziemun · 05/01/2009 21:10

Congrates Mamamila.

I am 31wks pg with 'surprise' number 3.

Lexie sleeps through most night, although she appears to be cutting all her teeth at once. She cut 6 since a week before christmas.

We had a quite christmas and new year as i realy just wanted to crawl away and hide as we were told on the 23rd that dad only has a few weeks. He is going into the hospice tomorrow.

I not going to say much more as i just fall apart again.

meandjoe · 06/01/2009 07:23

gosh lizzie your pg seems to have gone so quickly (for me anyway, probably not for you!!!). not be long now. how sad about your dad, so sorry for you all . it must be so hard for you.

loler, your late new year sounds hectic but fun. not sure how you manged to get up at 6 though.

mamamila, happy to meet you here again too! especially with you having such exciting news!!! ds does sleep through in his own cot but always wakes at 6am if not before so we have very early starts here.

lizziemun · 06/01/2009 07:35

Thanks meandjoe

and yes pg has gone quick mind you not knowing i'm pg for the 1st 10/11 helps.

lizziemun · 06/01/2009 07:36

Thanks meandjoe

and yes pg has gone quick mind you not knowing i'm pg for the 1st 10/11 weeks (sorry missed that bit) helps.

Hersetta · 06/01/2009 12:30

Lizzie - so sorry to hear about your Dad. You are in our thoughts.

TT is having her CS section tomoorow and I deliberating whether to give a good luck card to her husband (we work at the same company). Do you think that's an odd thing to do as I've never met either of them?

meandjoe · 06/01/2009 19:49

no i don't think it's odd btw. i think it's very thoughtful of you to think of doing that hersetta.

good luck for tomorrow tt!!!xxx

conkertree · 07/01/2009 13:33

ooh thats exciting hersetta - so she may have had it by now.

yes mamamila - due 24th april. going fine so far (touch wood) - think i'm a bit bigger than last time but not too gigantic just yet.

ds goes to sleep in his own cot and goes through phases of sleeping through, then for a week or so waking every night at about 1.30 and comes in with us, and then one night snaps out of it and sleeps through again. so its unpredictable, but we find it works for us.

lizziemum - really sorry to hear about your dad - sending you a hug.

loler - the wii featured in our new year as well - a few sore muscles the next day

conkertree · 07/01/2009 16:18

forgot to add before that over the christmas holidays, along with gaining the word banana, ds has also started saying obama - dh got two of barack obama's books and so every time ds sees one he says obama - think he will be a political whizzkid by the time he is 4 (poor thing )

helibee · 07/01/2009 22:43

conker-thats so funny, we got given the books for christmas too by some relative of dh's and when Callum sees the pic he says "ama". He's started to do the animal sounds and actions a wee bit more now and it's so funny cos even when he only knows onw word out of a sentence you see him copying all the syllables that you have just said but with just babble talk and then adding in the word e knows and carrying on

mamamila-Huge congrats on the pregnancy, I am so jealous. I had hyperemesis in my pregnancy so no amount of sickness could put me off beingbroody i'm afraid

glad everyone had good new years and fun in the sales. Callum was too poorly to venture out and we had to postpone his jabs yet again, so hopefully next week!

lizzie-so sorry to hear about your dad-we'll be thinking of you and sending you big hugs

meandjoe-how are you doing? has the anniversary of your mums death just gone? My mums is coming up in a few weeks, i don't much like the end of jan but we're going to spend it with my brother and sil whch will be nice. Wow to joe fitting age 2-3 clothes. Callum is mainly in 9-12 and 12-18month depending on the shop but he's just having ther growth spurt so i think i'll be able to pack the 9-12month clothes away soon.

Gill-hope you're ok

Hersetta-Caitlin sounds so cute and very clever-has she had anymore modelling jobs yet?

loler-we played the wii a few times over christmas and and Callum tried to help his uncle do the triple jump which had us all in hysterics!

Congrats TT, hope the Csection was ok

lizziemun · 08/01/2009 07:06

Just a quick post.

Dad went into a coma Tuesday night and passed away yesterday afternoon .

Hersetta · 08/01/2009 08:24

So sorry about your dad lizzie. Bigs hugs from us all.

meandjoe · 08/01/2009 09:05

so sorry to hear about your dad lizzie. such a sad time for you all. huge hugs.

heli, the anniversary is on january 10th so i am already getting emotional and snappy with ds. i don't mean to but i really just want to hibernate through the whole of january. i even hate new year cos it just makes me so sad. hope you and your brother get through it ok, it's so hard.

hope everyone else is doing ok. xxxxxxxx

conkertree · 08/01/2009 10:15

sorry to hear that lizzie - hugs to you and to meandjoe too.

GillL · 08/01/2009 14:57

Lizzie I'm so sorry to hear about your dad

GillL · 08/01/2009 14:57

Hello. The dcs have been keeping me busy. Dd went to see a consultant about her bowel issues so she's been in nappies for a few days. Sorry for tmi but he wanted to clear her out completely so it wasn't particularly pleasant.

meandjoe - thanks for the reminder about monkeys. I have a mental picture of everyone and their dcs and I just couldn't picture monkeys. Does anyone else do that?

Joe must be the same height as my dd (97.5cm). Her age 2-3 trousers fit her perfectly too Ds is in 9-12 and 12-18 trousers but he's in 18-24 tops. He has short legs and a long body. He still struggles to climb up on the sofa.

mamamila - congratulations!!! I'm so pleased for you. Hope the nausea doesn't last too long. Ds has 8 teeth but he only just cut the last 4 just before Christmas. He does sleep through the night but if he falls asleep in the car when I pick him up after work then he has a 2-3 hours nap and then is awake and raring to go at 9 or 10pm just when I'm getting ready for bed.

Hey loler - glad you had a good new year celebration. Your holiday sounds fun. We've booked to go away to CenterParcs in April. It will be our first holiday for 3 years so it's well overdue.

Helibee - I'm fine thanks. It's rubbish being back at work but at the moment I'm just thankful that I still have a job. So many people I know are at risk and I still no nothing about what's happening here.
