SOL, apparently you can't use low energy light bulbs with dimmer switches so you were right to change it back. Something to do with the voltage needed make them work because they are such low wattage (according to my electrician dh!). I know nothing about all things electrical! We have a few lights on dimmers, and I was going to change the bulbs but he said I shouldn't, so it is nothing to do with you having to compromise!
Hope you have sorted things with your dh though, sounds like we were a few weeks ago and it was horrible.

Nice afternoon with friend and her dc's yesterday, except that her ds (age 3) completely trashed the place and broke a few things too She did apologise, she isn't the sort of mum to let her dc's away with murder iykwim!
It didn't rain SOL, but it is pouring down again today. So crap.

Hensden, so lovely to hear from you and I am glad you are well

GM, so sorry to hear about your sister's friend. So young. Really puts things into perspective. Hope your sister is ok today.

Not sure what to do today. F is up, but ds is still in bed. Not like him, but he has had several late nights this week so he probably needs to catch up a bit.

mammyjo · 09/08/2008 08:40

Morning eddas and spb x posted with you both.

SPB, the instructions printed on the sticker from the pharmacy will be the ones that the GP wrote on the prescription, so I would follow those. Hope his eyes are better soon. What drops did you get?

Eddas, enjoy your peace

Sexonlegs · 09/08/2008 09:08

Morning.

Thanks ladies for your electrical tips I shall pass the message on to dh!!!

Eddas, enjoy your quiet time.

MJ, hope you have a good day. Ds up yet?

SPB, how are you? I feel like I have man-flu too. Chest feels tights, got a headache and generally feel pants. On the good old Aspro Clear.

How is everyone else? Has been so quiet on here of late.

Meeting up with friends today, athough not sure what we are going to do. I fancy curling up in bed - on my own obviously!

Right, better get on. See you all later. xx

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2008 09:10

Morning ladies Quick post on the way to shower. Older 2 are colouring and P is in garden "helping" DH put up new sand pit

about your SILs friend GM - so young Am praying for her friends and family at this time.

Sounds like you are having a rough time atm. xx

Continuing to feel a little better, still pretty rough in the mornings, but improving. Really hoping anti-b's work, so tired and so fed-up with being ill. Yuk. Yuk. Yuk Feeling very down and low tbh; can't shake these feelings. Feel like I am stuck in a fog Not nice. Sorry to moan, but it's the truth. Sigh.

Hi Hensden btw Good to "see" you! Really hope you get HB sweetie. Sounds like a tought situation - you should really take Eddas up on her offer if you need to

Eddas - will get back to you about date for visit (if you still want to come after hearing my moaning ) ........

mammyjo · 09/08/2008 09:22

CD, glad you are feeling a bit better. I remember feeling really low when I was unwell for a long time. Hopefully when you feel better in yourself, the fog will lift

Ds has just got up It is the latest he has ever slept! Could have been a lovely lie in, except for the fact that F got me up early anyway! Oh well, at least she had the courtesy to leave me until just after 7am. Could have been much worse

SPB and SOL, hope you both feel better soon. Flu is just vile.

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2008 09:54

Wow to your DS MJ! Rock on!

Ooooh, meant to say - we had the same dilemma was Hensden when buying our car - we thought we wanted 4 DC (not so any more ) but I wasn't happy about driving one of those massive people carrier things (only passed my test last year) so we compromised and bought a Fiat Multipla - I know they are ugly; but they are fab - soooooo practical and you can have you, your DH / DP and 4 DCs without feeling too massive - just a thought!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/08/2008 19:37

Hi All - I'm back

Eddas - I have a washing machine sat here, but I'm guessing it would be too difficult to get it to you

Have a poorly J here, no idea what's wrong, very unsettled.

I had a fab weekend, pics are on facebook but I'll put them on an online album for you too.

I'm off to the London thingy on Tuesday, have my dress, and I think I may now have shoes, bag and belt too. Might take some pics for opinions

Evening ladies

Dippy, hope you are having a good evening. Sorry you are still feeling so down. Really hope things pick up soon. Lots of love to you.

Hi POTC, what's up with J? Hope he and you are ok.

Eddas, buggering balls to your washing machine [grr]

MJ, wow at ds's lie in What did you end up doing today?
We are coming to Wales on the 23rd I think it is. Will FB you and we can sort something out.

Dooby, I didn't know Roger was going to the the Dogs Trust. Can I ask why? Hope you are ok.

Hi Runny, good to see you

Brain emptied. Hope everyone else is ok. Anyone heard from Caz; text or anything?

All ok here. Still feel rough, but not too awful. Had a great day, although it has been peeing with rain all day. We met friends at a Water Festival being held in a town near us, then went for a fab lunch and then back to theirs where the dc had tea. Dh now off out baby-sitting and I am watching crap TV. B and K have been on top form; K was flirting outrageously with the waiter in the restaurant which was embarrasing, but cute - can't think where she gets it from!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/08/2008 21:01

I'm excellent thanks SOL, I went out last night and home with a man

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 09/08/2008 21:26

Oooh POTC, you minx! Tasty man???

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/08/2008 21:31

Very tasty
went out in Swindon with my sis, bro in law and cousin, met a couple of guys towards the end of the night, and went back with them (making sure that sis and hubby who went home knew exactly where we were) and rolled in at hers at 5am

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 09/08/2008 21:43

Blimey woman! You are a minx indeed

Doobydoo · 09/08/2008 22:04

hI soL.Rehoming as moving osmaller place and also can't cope with 3 dogs!Roger is just over a year old and has a good few years in him.HEIS SO FAB and we just can't give him the attention etc he needs.WE ha dto pay to send him over but though i feel pants I know its the right thing to do for him and us.I know now i could never foster children or animals too heartwrenching!xx

Sexonlegs · 09/08/2008 22:06

Oh Dooby, that is so sad, but he sounds like a fab dog and I am sure he will be snapped up. What sort of dog is he?

Doobydoo · 09/08/2008 22:13

He is across between a springer and something else maybe a grey hound!Apparently Irish dogs are often snapped up as they can be quite laid back, which he is.My friend in uk has one from Ireland and he is spoiled rotten.Roger is fab with kids so i think a family will be delighted. He seemed far less bothered than me...mre intested in what was going on.I couldn't say goodbye when he was in the van,as I started blubbibg and didn't want him to seeMad as box o frogs. We know its the right thing but why is the right thing to do sometimes the hardest?
I will have it all in perspective soon.Just been a knackering few weeks. Thanks for asking SOL

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/08/2008 23:01

Aww Dooby but you know it's what's best for him so keep that at the front of your mind

On the subject of next week - these are my shoes
this is my dress

I need a bag and some kind of cover-up for my shoulders!
