hi everyone,

I have a new mobile up and running with my old number so if you have my number please would you text me so I have your number again thanks

Sexonlegs · 29/07/2008 16:25

POC, I am all ears

Eddas · 29/07/2008 16:32

oh crap my car is a heap of crap and needs a million things done to it, it's gonna cost a fortune

CaptainDippy · 29/07/2008 17:31

How well I know that feeling Eddas xx Does this means your visit will have to be postponed for a little while!!?

Eddas · 29/07/2008 18:13

we'll be getting rid of it asap and getting a new one. My nan is gonna help us out, bless her, she offered when I had the accident before but went with my sisters car! She said she wanted to help as she won't see her great-grand-kids without (they're the only 2 great-grandchildren out of 5 of her grandchildren) she also said 'well you won't get help from your dad' not a lot of love lost between those two after dad re-married

There was some good news in that it's dh's uncle who serviced the car and he is only charging us £40 as he didn't do too much once he'd taken a quick look and told us if he were us he'd get rid quick!!

Also, I went to the monsoon sale and got dd a gorgeous dress reduced to £16.50 from £55. It's the dress I wanted for her birthfay party but couldn't part with £55 on a childs dress. It's a absolutely gorgeous and fitted her critera, pink, sparkles and butterflies. am so pleased. now she just need a party to go to

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2008 20:06

Hope all are ok.Am going to bed after 9 when i have made ds1 go!

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 20:46

hi all

sorry to have been absent this week. Work is busy and dull and a bit depressing really! B is adorable though and I just don't know what I'm doing It seems so mad to be making myself wilfully miserable at work when I could be at home with her We are a bit better off with me working and I do want to carry on working but I just felt so crap at the end of the day that I could cry! B loves her nursery and I'm really pleased with them but I can't, can't go on like this. I've got an interview next week and I'm really getting anxious. If I don't get the job and think I will feel really down - and if I do get it then it's all change and that's really scary. Not as scary as staying in this miserable state though I suppose. Sorry to vent here - it's crap of me

Eddas - hope you get a lovely new vehicle.
Oooggs - how is it going now you are back at work?
SOL - my big girls are away this week as well
Dippy - have you been to the docs? >

Hi to everyone else

CaptainDippy · 29/07/2008 21:18

Oh NL Please accept some

Eddas · 29/07/2008 21:25

nl {{{hugs}}} hope it all works out. Change is scary. I personally hate it.

CD, yep car really not gonna make it any distance tbh. I can't do friday's anyway as it's the day I work.

Hi spb/dooby

quite looking forward to car shopping[grn] hoping the kids behave for us

weeonion · 29/07/2008 21:44

NL - as eddas says - change is scary but when you are feeling so drained and down about work - then things do have to change. Dont get too focused on the possible outcomes of next week. you know you are good at your job and something better will come along - interview next week or not. i really believe that sometimes situations have to be so bad that i have to allow change to happen and, because of that it, usually it will work out better.
xx

Eddas · 29/07/2008 21:47

aw, lovely post wo, and so true

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 21:55

Thanks Eddas, Dippy and WO.

WO - you are right I am good at my job. I need to focus on that thought a bit more I think! Have you started your new job yet - how's it going?

Sexonlegs · 29/07/2008 22:00

Evening all

Eddas, what a pita re your car, but lovely that your Nan can help you with getting a new one. What do you think you are going to go for? Some sporty number

NL, lovely to see you. I am sorry that you are feeling so down about work. Good luck with the interview. There is a job out there with your name on that will be perfect. Glad B is being so lovely for you. You missing your big girls??

Dippy, how are you feeling? Docs???????????

WO, lovely to see you

POTC, I am still waiting......

All ok here. For some reason I am feeling really fed up and I have absolutely no reason to be. B is away, so life is peaceful. K is being absolutely adorable and dh has had a bit of a windfall from work. And the inlaws have offered to look after the girls on Friday night while we have a meal out.

So, what is wrong with me??????

I think it is work. I am fed up of it, and I never thought I would say that. I enjoy working, and don't think I could be a SAHM - correction - I definitely could not be a SAHM There are just so many issues and I am fed up of dealing with them. Rant rant.... Sorry.

How is everyone else??

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 22:06

Hi SOL - yes indeed - work - aaaaaaaaaargh!!!! It's really hard isn't it? Could you look for something else?

I am sort of missing the big girls - it's nice to have the peace and to be able to go between work and home with just the one stop at nursery instead of two and it is easier to get just B and I out of the house etc etc. On the other hand - they are so fab - and particularly dd1 are so supportive and such good friends to me. Dh is away tonight and tomorrow so I guess it is a bit lonely here really.

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2008 22:10

When's your interview NL? That kind of change is almost always a good thing, i tend to find.

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 22:14

It's Tuesday - yes you're right. Of course if I don't get it I will be gutted

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 22:15

Sorry -

Sexonlegs · 29/07/2008 22:16

Hi NL. I am keeping my eyes open tbh. I enjoy HR, but I just find it a minefield, and I no longer have the time or the inclination to keep up to date with it all But then there is the issue of the fact that being at a certain level as I am means the pay is reasonable. It is such a toss up and something I need to think about before leaping from the frying pan in to the fire iyswim.

I suppose I have also had time to think about my relationship with B. We just irritate the hell out of each other. I know I am the adult and I need to get a grip, but I am finding her a real challenge and last week said some pretty awful things. I even contemplate leaving dh and passing custody of the girls to him

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2008 22:16

If you don't get it it means there is something better waiting round the corner!

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 22:24

SPB - that's true

SOL - I know what you mean re level and pay - I certainly feel a bit trapped atm. If the job made no financial sense it would be much easier to walk away.
Regarding your B - mothers love their children - they don't necessarily have to like them all the time! You will get through this and although you may feel you irritate her - you are the centre of her world and she would be lost without you. Give yourself credit for raising a feisty daughter

Eddas · 29/07/2008 22:57

sol, you know my dd irrates my alot too. I think if i'm honest, she is just too similar to me and we wind each other up! It doesn't mean you are a bad mum if you shout and say things you regret. At least you realise. Lots of mothers out there don't and the kids get it all day every day. I'm sure when you do it, it's rare. We are allowed to have bad days too. Be kind to yourself

nl, i'd love a cornetto please do you have mint, tis my fav. Strawberry's nice too though

Oh and i'm thinking of getting a sporty 2 seater car with maybe a roof rack for dc

or in the real world a fiesta is looking a good option. We're open to whatever's there tbh. We're not planning more dc so a little car is fine

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2008 23:23

I do have mint Eddas - here catch
What about a citroen Picasso Eddas - they seem very popular and you get loads of room.

Eddas · 30/07/2008 06:59

thanks for the cornetto, yummmy

dh not keen on a piscasso i'd have one, like you say they have loads of room. not sure why dh doesn't like them. maybe they are too 'family'

Sexonlegs · 30/07/2008 07:27

We have a Picasso, and they are fab. So much room for stuff and I think quite a nice design for a "family car". I like being a bit higher up as well.

Morning btw

Feeling much more positive this morning, so thanks Eddas and NL for your words.

How is everyone this morning?
