Oh Jammy ....hope she improves....if she needs the security of a bag to sleep could you not just put her in a 1 tog bag with just a nappy on? My DD just slept in a sleeveless vest last night....but she always sleeps with her comfort blanket, which gives her a bit of warmth when the temp drops a bit.

Hope you get to the party

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/07/2008 10:28

I think we are going to try bag and no jammies tonight. Unfortunately her 1 tog bag was washed yesterday and was still a bit damp by bedtime, but we can use it tonight.

foxythesnowfox · 27/07/2008 10:30

how about a pillow case as a sleeping bag?

LO fitful here too. and getting warm again. Will do the nurofen/calpol combo.

Sputnik · 27/07/2008 12:42

Sorry to hear of your bad nights Jammy and Foxy. I love the pillowcase as sleeping bag idea! We have a 0.5 tog sleeping bag and it's the equivalent of a sheet, on hot night he just has that and a nappy.

My sister has gone home, so catching up on Mumsnet!

foxythesnowfox · 27/07/2008 13:30

she puked up her nurofen, so gave her calpol. Now pinned to the sofa (again). At least I have the papers, but I am getting hungry!

foxythesnowfox · 27/07/2008 15:06

oh you are all off having fun in the sun aren't you?

hope LO is getting better Jammy and you make the party.

I am stuck indoors with sickly poorly baby.

actually, when was the last time I spent the day watching TV, reading the paper and watching T4? might as well enjoy it. where's hotel chocolate box then?

Sputnik · 27/07/2008 16:09

Actually it's raining here
We were out late last night and DD is whingy. And I've ust realised she hasn't pooed for several days. So I'm stuck on the sofa with a clingy 4 year old that keeps farting. And there is no chocolate in the house.
Do you feel better now?

foxythesnowfox · 27/07/2008 20:45

Thanks Sputnik! Your misery helps me

DP is being a right twunt. Still makes it easier to look forward to him going though

Sputnik · 27/07/2008 20:57

Is it just us tonight then?

At least I got my 2 in bed tonight super early by our standards.

foxythesnowfox · 27/07/2008 20:59

aye. seems to be.

mine are still up. LO in bed, seems to be sleeping a bit more soundly (fingers crossed).

We are in for rain here. For the next week apparently

Sputnik · 27/07/2008 21:10

Ha, just spotted you on the mad MIL thread advising the op to take the moral high ground

justbeme · 27/07/2008 21:19

Hi Foxy and Sputnik!
Sorry to hear about all the poorly Lo's.
L still is hardly eating anything and nor is DP!
Just stayed in today - and I too was pinned to the sofa, but i have to say it was quite nice doing nothing. Enjoyed watching "Place in the sun", only to find out at the end that it was based on exchange rates from 2002 - wtf! Why are they showing such outdated programmes!!

LittleMissNorty · 27/07/2008 22:28

Evening...hope LOs are sleeping soundly?

Is DP off t'other side of world Foxy?

I don't mind rain ....its so blardy hot here!

Night all...may you all have unbroken sleep

HellHathNoFury · 28/07/2008 08:49

Morning all, hope y'all had a good weekend.

I went to Essex for the weekend to stay with parents. Got back late last night.

Izzy, so sorry to hear about your dog. We are in the same boat except we both really want to keep him (he's lovely and so good with DS) and we are not really sure what to do at this point. We figure we'll keep him until we can sort out some of his allergies then rehome him. I am dreading it, as he and I are very close, it's like he can read my mind sometimes. DH gets annoyed as he wants the same sort of relationship with the dog.
I tell him he has a better relationship with DS though

Was hot yesterday but no problem, we just spent the day in the garden under a tree on the grass. Twas lovely.

DS was smashing all weekend, good as gold. FF and Foxy, DS is also a climber, as long as the windowsills are locked we generally get by ok, but he does look like a child abuse victim most of the time he is that covered in bruises.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2008 12:15

Our internet connection went awol yesterday before lunch and didn't come back until this morning, so DH & I were very twitchy last night. We had to talk to each other . you lot were quiet though, so I've caught up in no time.

Jamlet was "off" all day yesterday. We made it to the party, and she was a little better there, but still sat by me pretty much all the time. When we started getting the LOs undressed for the paddling pool, I noticed she had a rash all over. While I was convinced it was just a heat rash or a viral thing, I wasn't prepared to risk putting her in the pool with 5 other LOs in case it was anything more serious, so we packed up and went home. She was off her food too, which is most unlike her. She cried in pain at eating a strawberry even, so I reckon her teeth must be the main cause of it. But we had a better night last night, though she need resttling several times up to about 10pm. She's at nursery today though, so it's not my problem for a few hours at least [bad mummy]

Izzy and Fury, sorry to hear about your dog probs. Hope you manage to find lovely, lovely, solutions that keep everyone happy.

have we decided about the meet up yet I am going to devon for 2 weeks on friday so would be good to know what is happening

Bumperlicious · 28/07/2008 16:56

Hello all.

Sorry to hear about Fury and Izzy's dog woes. And poorly LO's.

I want a wii fit

I cycled into work today at 7.30 which took me half an hour, forgetting that I had to be at another site across town for a course. Fortunately there is a bus that goes across town as I couldn't take my bike, apart from taking me another 45 minutes it is up a very steep hill. The annoying thing is the site I was meant to be at is nearer my house and I could have had an extra hour at home - grrr!

DH has taken DD to a birthday party (the joys of sharing care!) and I am appreciating an hour of peace and catching up on celeb masterchef.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2008 20:02

Ooooh, I'd be kicking myself over the site mix up thing Bumper. But well done you for getting on your bike.

I think I must have a/some blocked duct/s, as my right boob is very big and sore and hard and a bit hot. Twice at work today I had to manually express some milk out into a wad of tissue paper (not bottle with me as I've stopped expressing at work) and I'm now going to sit down with the pump and try to sort it out. Jamlet didn't BF last night, this morning or tonight and the left side feels fine but the right feels awful.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2008 20:03

And arse! The nursery are increasing their food charges from £2 per day to £3.25 !!

Sputnik · 28/07/2008 20:18

Good luck with your duct clearing Jammy. Try massaging it as you express too.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2008 20:29

Thanks Sputnik. I seem to have cleared the worst - I can certainly put my right hand to mt left shoulder now without wincing as my arm squashes the boob Will have another go before bed and fingers crossed.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/07/2008 20:35

So how is the weather with you Sputnik. We had thunder and rain earlier, but it is still muggy. Not quite as bad but not great.

Sputnik · 28/07/2008 21:39

Hot and muggy here too.

Bumperlicious · 28/07/2008 21:44

Ouch jammy. Hope it gets sorted.

Andie thanks for your advice on the bfing thread. Still just plodding along atm.

Really pissed off as despite our income reducing our tax credits have actually gone down which is really going to scupper our monthly budget.

Jammy, doesn't look like Lido weather for Friday I'm afraid. Heavy showers apparently.
