Bumper, I am just pissed off because I made one stupid mistake, I changed into the wrong gear, therefore the car slowed down and I caused the car behind me to slow down. That was why I failed. One silly mistake. I wasn't going to cause an accident or crash, I just caused the car behind me to slow down! I only got 5 minors and turn in the road and reverse park were perfect! I am sooooo annoyed with myself! Glad dd was good when you were away and that you had a lovely time.

Andie, that sounds lovely, I shall let you know what we are doing. I may have to use some persuasion techniques on dp to get him to agree to my cunning plan! Sorry your holiday was rainy, but glad it was good anyway.

Hi trace, hope you are well.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/08/2008 19:31

That sounds like a good idea fairy. He might agree to friday instead. Oh bumholes, there won't be enough room in the sodding car for us all.

FUCKING HELL, WHY DIDN'T I JUST PASS MY TEST?!

AAAARRRRSSSSSEEEE!

I guess dd could stay with my mum and I could come up with ds? I'll work something out I'm sure.

Bumperlicious · 18/08/2008 19:33

My third test I failed going back into the test centre! It's galling though, I have every bit of sympathy for you. It was like a mill stone around my neck for years.

DKMA · 18/08/2008 19:49

Evening!

Daisy - sorry to hear your feeling shitty, we will have to meet so I can give you the car seat base - but there's no mad rush at my end. Perhaps we can meet at the Trafford Centre? It's easy for me to get to too.

Lovely ring JBM - big congratulations

Massive big shitty bummer Holly about your test!!! (I passed mine first time after 10 lessons so can't join in on the whole I cried too thing! - But you didn't want to hear that did you - and you are probably shouting fuck off at the screen now )

Fury - hope your little man perks up soon - poor little monkey

I burnt my boobs on the sunbed yesterday
I have this horrible rash on the tops of my arms that only seems to go when I get in the sun or on the sunbed - and I hate the sun / bed etc as it's just sooooo bad for the skin etc but the rash was awful and I was getting people asking me what it was all the time. So I went on the sunbed - and I think it was a bit strong! My nips hurt! And my bum does too a bit!!!

HellHathNoFury · 18/08/2008 19:58

Holly, I want a fag too, let's go be rebels and have a sneaky B&H together.

Am so sorry to hear about your test. I know it won't make you feel better but I failed mine first time too, well actually kind of, I got told off for dangerous driving and was banned from a resit for 6 months. Then I passed and within 3 weeks wrote my car off. I have improved but only just

Daisy that's shit about your do and your pain. Can you see a GP/MW or something? You are pg, you shouldn't be struggling and being ignored like this.

I am very happy to do another meet up, generally I am happy to meet up any time! Anything to get out of work!
But I am a bit worried about DS, he still sounds like darth vadar and the weather forecast is poo, I just don't think it would be fair on him if he is still poorly.

DH and I had a mega row tonight, I stormed out and told him I was leaving, he said GO THEN, but I didn't, argh.

Bumper, no green card! We're in the UK for the forseeable future then!

HellHathNoFury · 18/08/2008 20:00

DKMA!
burnt nips!! LOL!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/08/2008 20:16

If the meeting on Thursday is only going to be a little one then I might pass as well [guilty] Despite best intentions I'm short of cash and I've just checked the train prices and FECK they've gone up!!! Now, if it was meet lots of people I'd willingly raid my piggy bank and pay up, but if it's just to meet a few people, and especially if the weather's poo, I think I might wait until another time and get more MNers for my money . And if I'm more organised next time I might get tickets in advance and keep the cost down anyway. Big, big apologies though and hope to see everyone soon.

LackaDAISYcal · 18/08/2008 20:32

oh, dear, I feel like I've let the side down now

dkma...trafford centre would be good. I can get DH to do the driving and he can entertain the DCs whilst we have a coffee and a good old natter . ouch at the burnt nips

holly, if a silly gear change caused the car behind to slow down, then it was obviously driving too close and I fail to see how that was your fault

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/08/2008 20:41

Don't feel bad Daisy, it's just one of those things. And one (or other) of those things has happened to several of us all at once.

But huzzah! Have finally booked our holiday We're going to property W10540 from here

LackaDAISYcal · 18/08/2008 20:43

Was in sainsbos earlier and noticed they are selling this range of chocolate. The labels are v v funny, but I drew the line at £1.99 for a wee bar of chocolate.

looks good jammy; when are you off?

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 18/08/2008 20:51

weren't you supposed to be having an early night Daisy

Don't worry about the meet-up, these things happen and your health is WAY more important. Also, there were quite a few who couldn't make it, for lots of good reasons, not just you. There will be plenty more opportunities, I'm sure.

justbeme · 18/08/2008 20:51

Evening!
Thanks for the congrats!!

Daisy - I felt very for you re your book party - some people are just Sooooo rude - hope you're feeling better too.

Holly - what a PITA! I couldn't believe that I passed my test after I mounted a kerb going round a tight bend in a residential road!! Perhaps because I kept my cool - could you appeal??

Any one heard from Izzy??

Sorry the weather was crap Andiem - thats the problem with UK hols isnt it?? I was oo lucky in June with mine though.

FrazzledFairyFay · 18/08/2008 20:53

That looks lovely Jammy. I love stone cottages.

FrazzledFairyFay · 18/08/2008 20:54

So whens the big day JBM? Can we have a MN hen-night?

justbeme · 18/08/2008 20:59

Er no!!! Marriage isnt on the cards - Im calling it a sort of "commitment ring!"
although we're not talking tonight -
tomorrow we've got our blood tests for miscarriage tests at 08:30 and he came home from work and told me that he's agreed to take a bloke (who he has no contact nos for) to work tomorrow - this bloke is coming on the train 12 miles to near our house - and then work is about 15 miles away.
Of all the days!! He forgot obviously, but is now saying not to worry about this bloke, he'll have to get the bus!! WTF!!! Poor bloke! Im so annoyed that he obv. thinks so little about the tests that he forgot about them. [angry!!]

ps - your Jammy hol cottage looks v nice!!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/08/2008 21:02

fairy I have to wait up so I can take DS to the loo and plant his fiver 50p!

has everyone used their child trust fund voucher? Mine expires at the end of August and i can't find it. I have requested a replacement but it said it'll take up to a month to arrive. No mention of expiry dates or what happens if you don;t use it within the allocated time, although I'd read something somewhere saying the govt will invest it for you.

am really pissed off that DS missed out on getting it by three fecking months.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 18/08/2008 21:07

sorry about your DP's insensitivity jbm. If it's any consolation I think it's just blokeyness rather then him forgetting/not meaning anything to him. the anniversary of our due dates has been merrily passing DH by where I remember the due dates and the dates of the MCs. I know he still thinks about them though and thinks about my feelings in it often

but you're still allowed to be narked at him about it

good luck with the tests anyway, and I hope they find something that will give you some answers, even if that will be a hard thing to deal with iyswim {{{{hugs}}}}

We just got our CTF set up this week - well I posted the voucher and application form to our chosen provider on Saturday. We had a letter a while back saying it had to be done by end August of the gov will set it up for you. I think that you might be able to move it later though [unsure]

We're off on Sept 20th. Just booked the ferry too - as much as the cottage . And I rang the company a couple of weeks back who checked with the owner and yes we will be able to use the swimming pool (the thing said open in summer), so fingers crossed for a warm September. DH not so keen on the early start though, we're on the 7am ferry, with a 45 minute check in.

FrazzledFairyFay · 18/08/2008 21:16

Ok Daisy, you are let off .

The govt do invest the voucher for you. DDs is now worth less than £250, nearly three years on, and DS' has mae about £1 in a year. I don't think they'll exactly be travelling the world on what they end up with.

LackaDAISYcal · 18/08/2008 21:17

we are going to invest it with the local credit union. Might not get a great return, but at least it will be doing good at a local level (hopefully giving me a small business loan )

I think you can change provider at any time storm, so even if the govt do invest it, we'll be able to change it at a later date.

I'd said yesterday I was going to have a week of bland food to try to give my tum a chance to sort itself out properly. SO yesterday I had potato for lunch, and mashed potato & carrots for tea with a few beans. Today i had toast for breakfast, bread & butter for lunch, and some crisps because I wanted something salty. Dinner tonight was potato wedges and salad, and a tiny little burger, grilled plainly. But DH bought shed loads of cheap cake at the supermarket, so I have given in a little. However, oddly I wasn't that tempted, so just had a small piece of a banana muffin, leaving the big bit with the cream cheese smothered all over it. Must be something wrong with me!

LittleMissNorty · 18/08/2008 21:25

You sure you're not pregnant Jammy?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/08/2008 21:26

OK, bed for me abd fingers crossed that the little bit of muffin isn't going to keep me up half the night
