Not unless pg causes green/brown liquid to gush out of your bottom! (Sorry!)

LittleMissNorty · 18/08/2008 21:29

wonder if its time for some blood tests Jammy? Helicobacter? etc

justbeme · 18/08/2008 21:31

Or a stool sample!!
yes TMI Jammy!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/08/2008 21:32

Well if it's not better in a week, I'm off to the docs. I've not been right since I had that stomach upset early July, when I had to miss my walk. It was D&V that time, and since then there have been several episodes of D, on and off. Am fed up with it!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/08/2008 21:36

jammy, not wanting to alarm you, but my coeliac disease didn't really make itsefl known until after I'd had DS (although I'd had dodgy innards on and off since being a teenager). It really kicked off after I'd had food poisoning and the D bit just didn't go away.

Might be worth a mention to the GP?

Think our CTF ran out , you can move though. However, having not done anything for the past year, can't imagine us doing much now!

Fury, hope you and DH sort things out. That's v unlike you two...

So, we are off for thurs? What a shame! But it is a bit of a huge effort for some of us so can understand wanting to make sure is it worth the while, and DCs are all well and good. No offence to those who could make it , but I know I was really looking forward to seeing everyone. I was telling jammy though, I think I am winning at mnet Bingo! I have met Andie, Fairy, Daisy, Fury, Jammy, Foxy and Norty (did I miss anyone?).

Sorry if not making sense, a bit squiffy!

Feeling very excited as one of my best friends is due to give birth any min (she has had a sweep, haven't heard from her since yesterday - MV said it's big baby!) and two of my local friends are PG! It's a big deal for me as I am the first to have a baby. Worried they are all going to find it much easier than me though, and put me to shame . I happen to be someone who doesn't hide how I feel, consequently, they all think I am a bit bonkers highly strung.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/08/2008 08:11

Thanks for that thought Daisy . Don't think it is that though as I don't seem to correlate symptoms with eating bread etc. Mind I can't seem to correlate symptoms with eating anything in particular. Talking of symptoms, not good this morning so have decided I should work at home as I don't want to embaress myself on the bus or in the office. Just hope work don't mind.

andiem · 19/08/2008 08:18

morning all

Jammy my mum had a similar problem and it turned out to be a sort of colitis that was specific to women so it is definitely worth gettin it investigated she had a short course of steroids and it sorted it out hope you feel better soon

fairy yes i am still on for fri the salad thingy starts at 10 what time shall we meet?

holly sorry you didn't pass your test I failed mine th first time as I had failed to sign my driving licence they didn't even let me start

jbm congrats on your ring

bumper hope you and dh are enjoying th week together at least your friends will know what it is like soon i'm sure they won't do a better job than you

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2008 08:53

morning all. Had a much better night's sleep last night...yay, and things don't feel as sore this morning but am still going to see the doc and demand a physio referral.

jammy, I hope things are better for you soon. It might just be that your gut is inflamed after the D&V bug and is getting irritated and not settling. I'm sure it's something like that rather than something more sinister, but having been there, I don't envy you any investigations they will want to do (deep breath in and pucker up )

DS is being challenging this morning. Even his £1.50 (in small change) from the tooth fairy hasn't cheered him up. I am trying a zero tolerance approach today and he is being sent out of the room at the slightest provocation and I refuse to shout. I feel really guilty as he is bored rigid, but I'm limited in what we can do. I think we will go to soft play today and he can run himself ragged there while I hobble after DD sit and have a coffee.

Yes, having spent a few mornings in xray departments watching the barium examinations, I'm not looking forward to it - IF it comes to that [hopeful]

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2008 09:04

I never had a barium meal/enema thankfully....just a few digital exams and then a colonoscopy, but thankfully (yay for BUPA) was sedated for that.

It'll be fine jammy, I'm sure

DD has smashed her cheek again. she now has a lovely greeny blue black eye and a fresh blue bruise just below it. I'm sure I was getting funny looks yesterday

A wolesley hornet?

I was sedated for drainage of an ovarian cyst with the needle going in trans-vaginally. I was surprised how very sedated I was, can't remember a thing after they gave the sedative and was pretty dopey for the next 24 hours. I also remember being pretty scared. I was expecting this low-key procedure and even helped wheel my own bed in I was feeling so OK, then suddenly I had a BP cuff on one arm, and IV tube going in the other, an oxygen mask on, my legs akimbo and I was being doused in iodine all over my nether regions. Went from 0-very invasive in about a minute.

HellHathNoFury · 19/08/2008 10:40

Bumper, you forgot Zelda.

Yes me and DH don't row often but when we do they are snappy quick humdingers that last 15 minutes then all done. I hate rowing in front of DS though, makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Jammy I had a ruptured ovarian cyst, that was very very painful but having it drained sounds worse.

Def get yourself checked out at the GP, could be minor like IBS, best to find out.
I have IBS sometimes, it happens when I am stressed mostly, sometimes when I eat fatty food. It can be very painful and...'messy'

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2008 10:44

wolseley hornet
My Dad used to have one . Basically a mini with a boot.

My Dad wasn't sedated at the Vic when he had his colonoscopy Storm....but that was a few years ago mind.

Finally got to speak to a GP....no appointments available, only on the day ones but they were all gone, only on the day ones tomorrow, but as i explained to the receptioist, by the time I get through they are all gone. I blubbed and she finally conceded she could get the doc to call me. Same old same old with the GP though, "you're pregnant, tis normal" but I'm not sure legs giving way is normal . anyway she is going to refer me to the obstetric physios, although she is "sure there isn't a lot they can do" why the fuck do they exist as a service then? I'm also not convinced the pain at my hip is ligament pain as it feels totally different to the ligament pain I had before. but she has given me the green light to take co-codamol rather than just paracetomol so that'll help a bit.

Am off to hobble around the park with DS; he needs a good run.

Hey Stormy, I see you are an "Engineer", like me.

Anyone else done the personality test?

Then there is a thread about that and bf and childbirth

HellHathNoFury · 19/08/2008 12:34

apparently I am an 'Overseer'

I am an advocate but seem full of contradictions if my answers were anything to go by.

Daisy, ikwym - it is often impossible to say whether or not I would behave in any particular manner, as it depends on the surrounding circumstances.

But having said that, I read through the blurb and I think it's pretty accurate.

Doesn't mention anything about painfully low self-esteem though lol

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2008 12:52

I think part of my problem with it is how I used to react in situations is very different to how I react now, and I still hanker after that strong, assertive, go getting me and haven't quite embraced the quivering, indecisive, anxious, muddled wreck that I am now

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 19/08/2008 12:59

lol Daisy

I know who I am. I know what I am like. Interesting to be a 'type' though.

Now if I could find an injection to inject the motivated, weight loss, energetic personality type into me I'd be just fine.

So now instead of saying, 'see her, she's a right old bitch' I can say 'Damn ESTJ's' (or whatever).

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2008 13:05

lol

Don't worry Stormy, I take "bugger off" as a term of endearment
I would only use it affectionatly myself.

Daisy, the reason you "haven't quite embraced the quivering, indecisive, anxious, muddled wreck" is that she isn't you.

Fury, we are doing quite well (well I assume I am, haven't reweighed myself yet) on the Bouti Sheikers thread. You are welcome to join if you like, also Foxy and anyone else currently losing weight. I have been using Fitday for the last week or so and it's really working for me, you can track exactly what you eat and do. You have been at it for a long time too, you're bound to lose motivation from tme to time, but look at the long term picture, how much you've lost this year etc.
