fury...

fruit shoots... i must admit, ellen has had a couple when alternatives were not avalible (or acceptable to her as all her friends had one)

am i a bad parent?

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/08/2008 21:18

My DD has the occasional fruitshoot and DS has the occasional apple juice - I personally see no problem with them, tbh - as long as they aren't their main drink.

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/08/2008 21:19

Oh dear, MMR and fruitshoots..... are we are straying too far into controversial territory?

HellHathNoFury · 01/08/2008 21:21

Natty....yes.

Don't you know they are poison in a pretty coloured bottle?
Bad mother.

lol

But seriously.... who really cares? I'm rubbish at remembering to take out water bottles etc with me. I'd rather buy DS a fruit shoot than a coke. Or bacardi breezer, which is what my SIL (a childminder) opts for.

We all just do our best.

What else can we cover? BF/FF anyone?

HellHathNoFury · 01/08/2008 21:27

oops, my playing killed the thread. I was only kidding peeps.

NattyThomasAndEllen · 01/08/2008 21:28

fury causing debates this evening lmao...
i really didnt realise fruit shoots were so contraveral..

what about happy meals?

HellHathNoFury · 01/08/2008 21:31

Apparently they are evil. I don't see what can be so bad, personally. I eat crisps and drink the occasional coke (full fat, no less) and I'm not dead yet.

When I read the paper every day, I can't help but think there are better things to worry about.

justbeme · 01/08/2008 21:32

Evening!
I always think of Mumsnet when I see a child drinking a fruitshoot!! (although I bought my 13yr old one the other week!!)

Foxy - so very sorry to hear about E. What were the symptoms??

So what train line is near Wandsworth?? (and where the hell is Wandsworth!!)

HellHathNoFury · 01/08/2008 21:34

evening JBM!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/08/2008 21:35

Natty, I only said it had to be a long glass of something - you could have a long glass of water, milk, vimto, or fruitshoots!

I'm off to my bed. Got a session gardening planned tomorrow so want to be fit and raring to go!

NattyThomasAndEllen · 01/08/2008 21:37

did i hear something about a meetup last week?

HellHathNoFury · 01/08/2008 21:42

Apparently there is a meetup on the 21st Aug

justbeme · 01/08/2008 21:44

Wandsworth it may be Natty - hence my questions!!

NattyThomasAndEllen · 01/08/2008 21:55

where the bloody hells that?

DKMA · 01/08/2008 22:12

You are all very bad mummys and should beat yourselves with big sticks!

justbeme · 01/08/2008 22:24

Hi DKMA!! Try telling my DP not to buy a bag of penny sweets for Lo every friday!!! and whatever he's got, he'll let her (and the dog!!) have some!! I feel bad enough giving her a couple of crips every now and then!!

Im off to spend some time with DP and grab another glass of vino - had a lovely Chinese earlier so am stuffed!! See, we try and start our babies off with a healthy diet and then they'll end up with a crap diet like ours!!

x

hi there

suntanned and relaxed (an more than a little knackered from all the walking I've been doing) after a week on the coast, and now helping my big sis to move house...be hijacking her pooter and letting her run round after DD

just popping in and out and looks like no-one is around anyway....never mind.

Foxy, i hope DD is on the mend and sorry to hear she's been in hospital . Hope you are OK as well.

sputnik, i hope DS's rib is OK and that the osteo can do something with it.

PoP......won't make it to Craigtoun tomorrow as we are doing the ashes thing then (thanks to it being moving day for my sis today (into a beootiful rented flat with a fab garden) and then we are off home on Monday, but the DCs and I will have a few hours to spend in Livingston whilst DH is at a meeting so were thinking of Almond Valley Farm if you are available and can get there! Probably not at this short notice, but definately next time we are up here we'll get something together.

if a choice between dehydration and fruit shoot, then the fruit shoot wins

MMR...I think there are some children who react but that the risk of serious illness from the disease is much greater than the risk of a reaction to the triple jab, so I'll always opt for the triple. but tis an emotive subject (like so many on here) and each to their own. We all do what we feel is the best for our DCs given our own personal circumstances

catch y'all on Tuesday.

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/08/2008 20:33

It's quiet tonight - these RLs have got to stop!

Storminanecup is MotherHurdicure in her new disguise

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/08/2008 20:42

As tonight's RL has involved the jamlet howling for about and hour and a half I would quite happily have it stop. Especially as the plan for tonight was some cocktails and watching Casino Royale.

HellHathNoFury · 02/08/2008 20:48

I am lurking this evening. I am doing some work on the mac, trying to choose some pics for a competition.

Sputnik · 02/08/2008 21:02

Can we see the pics Fury? I would be happy to give my opinion.

After 3 nights of Being impossible to put to sleep, Baby Sputnik fell asleep over his dinner. He'll probably wake up ravenous in the night though.
