Good luck with the competition Fury.

Have seen Casino Royale before, saw it at the cinema on New Year's Day while pregnant with DD. Then she gave me the DVD for Xmas, with a note saying it had sounded like such a good film she thought we ought to have a copy at home. We haven't got round to watching it yet though, and were looking forward to doing so tonight.

HellHathNoFury · 02/08/2008 21:06

Thanks

I am a bit shy about you seeing them! When I have chosen them I'll send you a link, atm I am trying to narrow it down from about 30 possibles!

The competition isn't until next month tho so no hurry.

Sorry to hear about Jamlet. We have had a similar day. I wish there was an 'opt-out' of parenting occasionally.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/08/2008 21:06

Have got drinks now though at least

Bumperlicious · 03/08/2008 09:16

Hello all

Fury what's the comp? Look forward to seeing your picks.

DD is going to be in some pictures in the baby led weaning book coming out in November!

I v tired as the farking neighbours woke me up clod hopping around on their wooden floors at 2am last night. You are not supposed to have wooden floors in our flat

Glad you are having a good time daisy.

Foxy, hope LO is doing ok. Has DH left yet?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 10:30

Morning

Think Jamlet must have had tummy ache last night, possibly a result of the cabbage in the coleslaw I made for tea? She had a massive (and very grunty and painful sounding ) poop this morning and seems much better for it anyway.

DH got a shock when I made him get up at 7.50 because I was going swimming. He'd forgotten about the plan you see. I went off first and had 30 lengths of the pool on my own, then at 9am when the family session started, he brought Jamlet along and handed her over to me and I had another half hour or so in the pool with her, while he watched/read the paper from the cafe area.

And you should have seen his face when I pointed out that now that we're no longer BF, there is no reason why he shouldn't get up first with her some mornings

Sputnik · 03/08/2008 12:02

Good point Jammy
Well done on the 30 lengths. I got up and exercised first thing today too, must be something in the air!

We got our frame pool thing finally sorted and coaxed Baby Sputnik in for the first time. He was not keen at all for the first few minutes then loved it and was most upset when we took him out.

Those of you that take your babies swimming, do you put arm bands on them and hold on to them, or do they swim independently or what exactly? Can they learn at this age or do you have to start them off small? ATM he is floating in an inflatable ring thing, but wondering if we should be more adventurous. DD is only this year getting happier about water, and I'm attempting to start to teach swimming, as I'd quite like to take her to swimming lessons from september, but she needs to boost her confidence a bit first.

Sputnik, I hold her by her tummy, so she is lying front down in the water, holding her head up. We walk up and down the pool like that for a while, interspersed with a more tradiational hold, like we weren't in the pool at all. Sometimes I'll float her on her back with her head resting on my tummy/chest/middle area, but she isn't as keen on that. She's now getting so she wiggles about a bit as we walk up and down. There's an instructor woman there who said what we do is fine. We also do a bit of dunking under which she doesn't mind

Seansgirlthesequel · 03/08/2008 13:44

Hey all! Sorry for being awol again. No idea whats going on as have not aven been lurking. hope everyone well and LOs too.

DS still not well - as I was saying to Jammy and Bumper he had his MMR 11 days ago now. And since wed pm he has been awful. He has had really high temp for three days, off his food, constantly whinging and crying - nothing will console him. he slept ok last night for the first time since wed and his temp better. But he is still funny about his food and really really arsey

Daisy - picked up on my google DD had some MMR reaction? How long did it last?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 14:13

Hi SG. Sorry to have missed you last week, hope DS is back on top form soon.

Jamlet finally gone for a nap. Shame she didn't go down a bit earlier as I want DH to take her with him to Waitrose in a bit, so I can have a luxurious soak in the bath and maybe even a wee snooze myself, unintterupted.

Seansgirlthesequel · 03/08/2008 15:27

Hi Jammy, hope you get your peace and quiet, you just need it sometimes don't you. I seriously need time off from both dcs - roll on tue when DM is having them ALL day!!

Glad to hear that you and Bumper and LOs had a good day friday, am really sorry not to have made it.

HellHathNoFury · 03/08/2008 15:34

Bumper, the competition is only an internal staff jobby. Nothing fancy.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 15:47

I feel like a new woman! 15 mins pre-bath preening, 30 min soak with a puzzle and deep conditioning hair treatment, 15 min post-bath pampering with a face mask, foot lotion and lots and lots of intensive body lotion. And not a peep to disturb my relaxation And d'ya know what? DH should be home soon with cake!

foxythesnowfox · 03/08/2008 15:49

nice one jammy!

right, i've gotten all my 'stuff' out and put it in the living room as I will have to sort it and I won't bear to be able to look at it.

problem is, I've lost the will to live and just keep looking at it and sighing. I had intended to ebay the lot, but really cannot be arsed.

help me

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 15:51

what sort of "stuff", Foxy?

NattyThomasAndEllen · 03/08/2008 15:59

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 16:18

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 16:23

LittleMissNorty · 03/08/2008 16:26
