at magic medicine

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2008 19:34

Em has been walking more today as well, but she still does the mad, head-down for battering ram purposes, speedy crawl when she desperately wants to get somewhere fast, and she has also realised that she can use props to help her get to higher shelves

more blardy shoes needed soon

my gran had a magic formula for everything as well...but it was a teaspoon of brandy . you got some no matter what was wrong, or how old you were.

LittleMissNorty · 20/07/2008 19:39

haven't got any shoes for DD yet....will have to soon though I spose..

Your lasange sounds lovely Daisy....my toad in the hole smells pretty good as well

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2008 19:42

it was norty

I've never made a spinachy type filling before so wasn't sure what to do, so I just made it up and thankfully it turned out nice....and so healthy as well.....apart from the huge knob of butter and the single cream and the cheese

Izzybel · 20/07/2008 19:43

Daisy, that's true about her maybe getting confused. It's a good suggestion about 'dog sharing' I was going to suggest that I looked after the dog when she's away and things like that.
DP just can't be bothered with her. He finds things like constant dog hairs annoying and she's quite a needy dog and will paw at you until you stroke her.

Jammy, lol at the 'magic' Nivea cream! It reminded me of the time, when I was little, when I fell off a chair at my Grandma's house and bumped my head. My sister ran to get me some 'magic' cream and giggled the whole time she was rubbing it on my forehead... I later found out that the 'magic cream' was butter!

HellHathNoFury · 20/07/2008 19:44

Izzy... I have found myself in your shoes many times, it's AWFUL, I really feel for you. To keep our dog I fork out £200 per month to have him walked while I am at work, but it's a massive expense and I can't pretend I don't resent it.

You must be devastated, I honestly feel for you.

HellHathNoFury · 20/07/2008 19:45

Izzy I have a spaniel too. Heartbreaking isn't it

Izzybel · 20/07/2008 19:50

Is yours an English Cocker Fury? They are such lovely dogs. She gets so many compliments when I'm out with her, although they can be a little naughty at times!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2008 19:52

I hope you get something sorted izzy...and give your DP a big kick from me for not realising she is a treasured part of the family

My DH makes noises about the cat occasionally, when she sicks up on the carpet or scratches the wallpaper. I either just ignore him, or play the sympathy card as looking after her was a request from my dear old mum. He knows he is stuck with her for that very reason alone. He does feed her though and i think he likes her curled up next to him on the sofa; he'd never admit it though!

LittleMissNorty · 20/07/2008 19:52

Just caught up with your pics on FB - GORGEOUS

Izzy...you on FB?

Izzybel · 20/07/2008 20:18

Thanks for all your kind messages everyone!

Right, I'm going to stop being so self-absorbed now! Geez, I'm sick of the sound of my own moaning!

On a lighter note... Guess what I found in my Tescos Shepherds pie at tea time! A bloody stone! I thought my tooth had fallen out!

Norty, no not on FB. I'm a bit paranoid about FB as I hear nasty stories about people getting harassed and things like that. Also, I don't dare put pics of myself on the internet as I would scare everyone away!

foxythesnowfox · 20/07/2008 20:59

aw, sorry about your dog Izzy

Izzybel · 20/07/2008 21:06

Thanks Foxy! How are you?

Right I'm off to bed! I'm knackered. Goodnight xx

foxythesnowfox · 20/07/2008 21:13

Night Izzy

Just found a 20% off Debenhams code on HotUKDeals (yes, I browse these websites!) for use 24 - 29 July - use code PD1P

Sputnik · 20/07/2008 22:35

Just been having a quick look on facebook, lovely photos Foxy and Daisy, I must put some up too.
I liked your living room floor pic too Daisy, it is reassuringly like our house. We even have that same round tub of about a million wooden blocks, which I seem to spend my entire life picking up

Sputnik · 20/07/2008 22:36

I like loking at pics of other people's living rooms actually. The messier the better!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2008 22:47

I was just giving you the opportunity to admire our 1950's retro chic decor

one day this room will get decorated and have a carpet that doesn't look like the after effects of a 1960's acid party.

Sputnik · 20/07/2008 22:50

I very tactfully refrained from mentioning the carpet
Oh well, I'd wait til potty training is out of the way

Sputnik · 20/07/2008 22:57

Your garden looks nice though [sputnik catches up with last 6 months of everyone's photos on FB]

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2008 23:04

thanks Sputnik......but that was a brief snapshot in time.....it is back to looking like a jungle again after all the rainy weather we've had.

right am off to bed.

I'm going to the Durham MN BFing picnic tomorrow so need a good night's sleep.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/07/2008 06:55
