POTC - can I offer something like a hug but not obvously - manly pat on the back perhaps? Of course you should take J - funerals are part of family life. Babies are part of family life. You've made very sensible and careful arrangements and anyone who doesn't lik it - including your dad - should just get over it!

Got to go read a document for work - ugh! Back tomorrow.

Eddas · 08/07/2008 21:55

POTC, grief is a funny thing, there's no right or wrong way to deal with it, just your way. Hope it all goes as well as it can at the funeral. I don't think anybody with adult children remembers the hassle of childcare issues or what it's like having young children

Eddas · 08/07/2008 21:59

Can i just say,

i am crap with keeping up and remembering evryone's posts, i don't me to be, i am just crap

I keep meaning to say,

MJ, I am so pleased you had you're operation and are recovering well

Yes, I have been drinking a little V&C

Oh and my sister is crap at ringing/texting/msning and all contact with anyone

PillockOfTheCommunity · 08/07/2008 22:01

you are so not crap Eddas.
and we are so having a night out sometime very soon!

Eddas · 08/07/2008 22:03

aw thanks potc when are you free? I cando a friday, which is best for you isnt' it?

I am currentlt supposed to be arranging nights out with You, my aunt, and my school friends, but i just forget all about texting sorry

PillockOfTheCommunity · 08/07/2008 22:14

I am free most Friday's, or depending on whether twunt gets his act together and realises that of course I am right, and drinking whilst in charge of your 1yr old and with his mother in another part of the country is a very bad idea, I may be free the weekend of August 8/9 or whatever the Thursday/Friday/Saturday are!

but don't hold your breath .....

I've also got a few future plans under my hat, but they're having to stay firmly hidden away for time being, and I'll work them around you

AngeG · 08/07/2008 22:21

Thanks for the dress choices GM . I looked a that Next one last night!

Hello Eddas and NL

Eddas I am much like you, really crap at keeping up, I do read everything but forget

geordieminx · 09/07/2008 07:38

Morning ladies.

Glorious weather here for most of yesterday and today hopefully... feeling very for Luce et family who are on their jollies -there is a severe weather warning down that way at the moment.

Had a grand day yesterday, went shopping and got some lovely things for Charlie and I. He was so good bless him, they have a temporary indoor beach at the shopping centre, he wasnt sure at first but soon got stuck in.

Bit of a stress yesterday morning - spent 50 minutes looking for my car keys - Charlie had hidden them.... they were caught up in the wires of the television....

Meeting another MN'er for the first time this morning, then going to see another nursery.

Hope one of those dresses is ok Ange, you are such a fussy bugger

morning just a quick one before i go back to the house to start again, feeling very snowed under atm, everytime i go to the house i feel like ive done loads but it still looks like there is so much more to do, so it feels like im not getting anywhere, kids have been good though while we are there, although katy did have fun when she stuck her hands in the paint yesterday then smeared it all over the floor.lol. so not used to the early starts as i was in bed at 7 last night and only just woke up, i think i feel better for it. anyway im off ill try at catch up with you all properly tonight hope your all ok? have a good day. xxxxx

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/07/2008 08:35

Morning ladies

Very tired here, and a busy day ahead. Not around tonight so you'll have to cope without me

I realised last night I do have some fab friends. I chatted the funeral worries through with Ange, and another friend of mine rang and let me cry and rant and stress before getting me talking calmly about it all and coming up with alternative opinions (although if we hadn't been on the phone until 3am I might not be so tired now!). M's dad rang and I cried at him too, but then he said he'd come round and comfort me if I wanted him to (and he didn't mean a hug!) so he swiftly got told where to go! Love him to bits, but he really is a classic example of only being able to think with his $@%@!

Will try and get on during the day, but if not, no chatting too much, I won't ever catch up!

xx

Eddas · 09/07/2008 08:38

POTC, you speak so highly of him I'm guessing here, but is it likely that you won't know about that weekend until very near the time I am free most friday evenings

Ange, glad i'm not alone in my crappiness That's the thing, i read the thread but don't remember a thing

Gm, hope you enjoy the meetup. I'm not sure dd or ds have ever hidden my car keys, yet i'd have been sooooooooo stressed!

Lexilex, house decorating takes forever. We moved in here in July 06 and have just about finished, apart from the kitchen, but that's far too expensive! Oh and new carpets, but again they cost too much!

DS did the biggest most explosive poo this morning, it was disgusting!!!!!

DD had her pre-school 'sports day' yesterday. They are the funniest things ever. We even had a streaker

Eddas · 09/07/2008 08:40

pmsl poc, that's so kind of him to try and 'help' you out

Am glad you have such good friends to talk to. I have realised that friends, in many ways, are more important than family

oooggs · 09/07/2008 08:55

morning - very crap night - they know daddy isn't here and I feel shit

sol - not a private school just a normal primary - but it is Church of England

ange - he wasn't 'wearing' uniform just trying it on so I knew which size to buy (he will grow into it )

Bramshott · 09/07/2008 09:55

Have been to choose my books from the mobile library van (proper local me!) and now off to do some work. Don't ask me about dresses, I have no fashion sense these days which makes me a bit . GM is great on that sort of thing though!

Whilst also digging around on Facebook yesterday, I was gratified to realise that the girl who was the most beautiful in our year at school has not worn well and looks old and wrinkly these days .

Eddas · 09/07/2008 10:03

oooggs sorry you had a bad night. When is dh back? lol at he'll grow into his unifrom dd's will be the same

On the subject of school uniform, dd isn't go to school until Jan, but all the uniform is out to buy now, my friend says there isn't much about at christmas, so I'd like to get it now, but don't have a list from the school. Do you think i'll look too PFB/OTT mum if I phone and ask for a list now? Ourparents evening won't be til Nov otherwise. I could ask dd's best friends mum I suppose

Bramshott, pmsl at 'the girl who was the most beautiful in our year at school has not worn well and looks old and wrinkly these days'

CaptainDippy · 09/07/2008 10:04

I think it is nice that your DS will be wearing a shirt and tie oooggs The secondary school mine will be going to eventually still wear blazers!! (Not private )

Oh POTC - so glad you were able to talk stuff through rationally with friends @ M's dad ..... deary me!! Nothing more to add .... feel a bit pathetic

I can hardly breathe. I threw up in the middle of a pre-school committee meeting last night Need to go to dr again.

mammyjo · 09/07/2008 10:17

Oh CD, hope you feel better soon, you really are having a rough time of it lately

Bramshott, your comment made me laugh! Isn't it great when the gorgeous ones don't stay that way (Not great for them I guess but that's just unlucky!).

POTC, glad you talked things through last night. Lol at the "comfort" you were offered! Men are on their own, they really are. Hope you can sort things out with your dad

Oooggs, Ds only wears polo shirts and sweatshirts to school with trousers. No ties here, which is just as well as I don't think he would be impressed! I can't believe that ds will be going into Year 1 in September Where is my life going?!
Sorry you feel crap again too. Hope your dh isn't away for much longer xxx

Dooby, hope M is ok today. Poor little man.

SOL and Ange, you both made me laugh with talk of your exes!!

Eddas, lol at the streaker Ds's sports day is this Friday, but the forecast is grim. It is absolutely pouring down here atm too. Where is the ruddy summer?!
And you are not crap either!

That's all I can remember now, back later xx

CaptainDippy · 09/07/2008 10:17

I've ordered jumpers / book bag / PE bag from the school, which I'll be picking up thurs; but apart from that, I haven't bought anything yet Everyone else seems so much more organised!!

Doobydoo · 09/07/2008 10:19

Right will do best I can.You are doing rught thing POTC.Dp,s mum didn't want ds1 at his dads funeral but he went and all was fine. When my grandma died ds1 was baby and we had similar arrangements to yours.Whoever said it is all part of family life is right!
at the beautiful girl at school looking all wrinkly that is fab
School reunion happening next year at my last school in uk[when we shall be 4o!]Will only go if I look faboolous...so won't be going
Ahhh good luck to all of you with your lo's starting school. In away I feel similar with ds1.Though he is 9 he hasn't been to school for yonks.
M's bump looks hideous but he seems ok.Just don't want him to bash it by falling over.
Total crap post missed loads out sorry.Have a good day all.xx

Doobydoo · 09/07/2008 10:19

Dippy

elkiedee · 09/07/2008 10:21

POTC, what a cheeky offer.

CD, sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon.

I feel awful this morning. My bosses' boss now knows, she caught me catnapping and trying to feel less sick in the kitchen yesterday, and she said "I know what's up, you're having another baby aren't you? You're going to be busy!"

Eddas · 09/07/2008 10:25

oh cd, make sure you do go back to the doctor {{{hugs}}}} really hope you feel better very soon.

Dooby, hope M is ok, poor little thing

MJ, the streaker was sooo funny our outdoor sports day was cancelled but they had a make do indoor one instead. But most of the parents missed out as they can't fit them in the hall.

I remember wearing a shirt and tie at primary school. Don't think it's common anymore. One of the local villages makes the boys wear shorts all year round poor little things!

I haven't a clue what dd will be wearing. I think it's green and grey trousers. I assume white shirts. I think it's common for the youngest to wear polo shirts as it's easier for them to dress themselves. I can't wait to be able to buy dd a pinifore(sp?) i used to love wearing mine. Aw they're all gonna look so cute [soppy]

CaptainDippy · 09/07/2008 10:26

I want the summer back
