Here's a laugh for anyone who is still awake......

Who filled her diesel car with £70 worth of PETROL - didn't realise - drove off for 1 mile and said car plop plopped to a stop right in the MIDDLE of a junction running on to the MOTORWAY - in the pissing rain - the far side of LIVERPOOL when she was already late for picking lo up at NURSERY and her dh was in a MEETING and was saying he might not be able to get to sais nursery before they CLOSED.

Yes it was me
Car is f*cked up and dead on my drive thanks to a very nice AA man who brought me all the way home (without taking the piss too much). Dh got lo with 15 mins to spare before nursery locked their doors - poor little bugger!

Do I win the 'biggest muppet' prize or what?

Thanks MHD - I'm ok - just
Haven't caught up on here yet - hope everything ok with you?

HellHathNoFury · 27/06/2008 09:02

DKMA...that SUCKS

And v expensive to fix!!

Seansgirlthesequel · 27/06/2008 09:52

Oooh DKMA! I bet a few choice words were muttered... hope you are ok, just a bit I expect.

What was in the air last night, tried to skim the convo but got a bit muddled and confused

Fury glad you're feeling a bit more chilled, DS is in 12-18, 1.5-2, 2-3. Its mainly t-shirts and tops he is in bigger sizes as he is really broad across his back, but 12-18 in trouseurs (and sometimes with turnups to stop him tripping)

Norty the 1-2 is only a phase like Foxy I regularly used to burst in to tears at tea time, desperate for DH to come home and 'rescue' me... but it is only a phase and your will be close together age wise - mine have a 4 year gap so demands are very different..... have used freecycle too its quite good, though I have never got anything off it just got rid of stuff...

DD did well at sports day - 3 races and she came 2nd in 2 so very proud! Even DS behaved and watched it all

Right, am off again to do more domestic crap and sort ebay stuff out, am determined to get rid of all my stuff this summer either on ebay or at car boot. I find it very time consuming though, hence my not being around much.

Am feeling am not going to make meet up in aug, but I'm sorry just can't cancel my holiday even for you guys

Seansgirlthesequel · 27/06/2008 10:05

And just on the freecyclething Norty - I don't know if all areas are the same or if MHC has found the same but I found you need to put it on the 'on offer' board first thing in the morning and be around all day to check messages as it goes quite fast usually and the four times I've used it people have wanted to come and pick up that same day.

Sputnik · 27/06/2008 10:09

Oh DKMA, that's shit.
But, at least your phone was working, and nobody smashed into you (I like to look on the bright side )

justRia · 27/06/2008 10:11

baggins deleted my post.

hope youare +all ok. (he is 9helping])

333hav-e a good weekend daisy!

hope youa re ok DKMA (DH did that once with a works van. last week when we bo00rrowe
d DF car he ran out of diesel on a pertol station forecourt)

reading yesterdays housework chat - When DS1 ws little I used to be like you fury, but am now in roughly the same place as daisy) It would be far easier to deal with if DM didn't live just round the corner.

I need to shift my arse today, need to catch up on yesterday and get ahead on tomorrow so we can do stuff with my sis, and DH is mass baking for school tomorrow (bet you I get to do most of it) and we have to shop for ingredients and I should try to get to the assembly this afternoon if I can. Hope DH gets some goodies from the farmers market this morning.

Hi and bye everyone. (for now, I'll be back as soon as I get bored - 10 mins or so?)

I tried to join freecycle and never go a message back from the local person.

Mornin
AA fella is here draining the tank
He needed the car off the road (too narrow for him to do it on) and moved onto the driveway which involved getting neighbours to help push it - thus me having to explain to my neighbours what a muppet I am
One of whome I had never meat before

Conversation went -

Me - oh hello - would you be able to help me and this aa fella move my car so he can fix it off the road?
neighbour - yes no problem, oh we haven't met before, my name is X.
me - oh yes, nice to meet you, my name is X

Neighbour - so whats up with your car?
me - ahh well I filled it with petrol and it's diesel , I'm not normally that stupid, honestly .
neighbour - Oh it's very common and easy to do (blah blah blah - being polite and really thinking MUPPET!)

I'm hoping today will be a better day

justRia · 27/06/2008 10:25

still here, I have just applied for a job for DH. He won't mind. He might have to practice making desserts for a couple of days to refresh his memory of course (ulterior motive?)

Looks like it's going to piss it down.

Baggins is grumpy. Last night there weree 6 big kids to play with. Now there's no-one.

Whew, just done a shitload of tidying and made myself a cup of tea. What's the betting the baby wakes up before I get to drink it?

Though why I want a cup of tea in 30° heat I don't really know.

Seansgirlthesequel · 27/06/2008 13:19

MHC that must be quite a trip for you. I am of you being rural, but then where I am most Brummies would consider being rural (am about 45 mins south of Bham) so its not so bad, I have fields opposite and school field behind. But have dreams of living by the sea, Devon or Cornwall would be fine by me, just so I could walk by the sea and have my kids at surf school..

Am stacked out with dance & theatre tomorrow morning and going out early evening so couldn't do Drayton Manor, but if you're passing by the door (no idea which direction you are coming) stop for a cuppa. Nearset motorway is M42 jct3.

Seansgirlthesequel · 27/06/2008 13:21

Hi Sputnik, No tea makes no sense, but I always drink it abroad. My Dgranny used say it would cool you down, why I am not sure....

Seansgirlthesequel · 27/06/2008 13:24

DH was talking about Italy for our hols next year, I have suggested staying where DMs do (he hasn't said yey or ney only Italy is a big place) so may be able to meet up with the DCs! Only thing is have to work out how the hell we afford 4 full air fayres!!

Seansgirlthesequel · 27/06/2008 13:24

Think Sputnik has gone off in space .... ah well the washing up needs sorting

I'm back!
If you flew from Bristol you could go Easyjet, which is pretty cheap if you book well in advance. Or bmi from Birmingham - don't know about their prices though. Anyway, would love to meet up. If you've never been to Rome then you shoud!

My order with VirginVie has been cancelled - it said the voucher wasn't valid as i hadn't won it . I did enter my details though and won a £10 voucher - I shall now wait to be swamped with even more junk mail

foxythesnowfox · 27/06/2008 19:30

ooh, I got that email too. Might enter the comp now you got lucky FF!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/06/2008 19:38

Oooh, I didn't get a cancellation email. Does that mean that for some reason they've allowed me to have it?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/06/2008 19:41

Had right old bickering session with DH ever since I got home at 4.45 I've been really tired and he's been a bit of a twunt. I walked out on bathtime when he splashed cold water down the inside back of my trousers - I'd just had enough.
