Happy Independence Day to me. I know you are so jealous because you guys don't have Independence Day. Gotta go to work but I don't mind, I'll get paid overtime for it so ha ha.

MKG · 04/07/2008 12:08

Benson don't worry, DH and I haven't gone out together since Mateo was born 3 years ago.

scootermum · 04/07/2008 13:41

Is it not independence day from us technically?Or do I have it mixed up? Humph. We're better off without you anyway

DH and I have a policy off having at least one night out together a month (either on our own as a couple or more often with friends) and at least a few weekends away (at least one of which must be a festival-two this year so we are very lucky).Plus we try t fit in nights where one or the other goes out with friends..(usually dh though as I am too bloody tired!
Our 'hectic' social life raises lots of caustic comments from dh's family but they never go out ever and only ever see each other and I cant think of anything worse..If I didnt get out and de stress from work and kids I would go mad I tell you!Plus you are only young once!
Our babysitting circle is one of the best things we got involved with-the only draw back being when everyone in the babysitting circle wants to go out together

I had to go and buy a mac in the end, plus some stout rubber boots as the weather forecast on the beeb said something about a small hurricane on its way to the South East.Fine weather for camping..my niece who is a first timer and who we are chaperoning will get a baptism of fire!
So will my sister who is having my two whislt we are tbere

Has anyone tried Fitflops?I have had mine on today and my legs are aching so they must be doing something

MKG · 04/07/2008 14:18

Oh Scoot you're just jealous cause you lost the war.

What are Fitflops?

Bensonbluebird · 04/07/2008 14:40

How does your baby sitting circle work Scoot?

I can see that a bin bag might be inadequate in a hurricane. Will be a baptism of mud for your neice!

Pinkjenny · 04/07/2008 15:05

Just signing off ladies as we go on holiday on Tuesday, and as we are going to a wedding tomorrow, I doubt I'll be on again.

No doubt I'll continue to text LG&T whilst I am away to avoid the inevitable panic over everything. Will miss you all, and raise a glass of Sangria to every one of you and the amazing support you offer me.

I'd be a crap mum if it wasn't for you lot, but L thinks I'm doing OK!

Love and kisses, Jenny.

xxxx

Lupins71 · 04/07/2008 15:32

PJ have a lovely holiday - hope you get some sleep on your own with dp

SCOOT at your day, gawd I would have been petrified if someone was trying to grab my bag, litle bastard. enjoy the festi - I love em' your cousin with ceratinly be in for a shock if thats the weather report

JAM how lovely little flutterings already

BBB until we moved there was no one to have the kids - since then we have only been out once together apart from brief shopping trips but mum i having them tomorrow so I can go out for my bday

MKG funnily enough I was thinking about your independance day - have a nice day at work, has your dh come round to the pg with a little more enthusiasm

LTG numpty numpty numpty it beggers belief that he can even think of letting his kids go short of food just so he has money for his wedding and holiday (sounds excactly like my dad until recently) Can dh get the bank to send you another card out?

Just been to collect dds new shoes - I cant believe that I have spent £80 on nothing pretty much, £30 to my mum to pay ebay fees, £20 dd's shoes (2 pairs in the sale), £10 lunch for kids and me (jacket spud) and a tea for mum, £15 on food and £5 on taxi WTF the bloody cost of living is going up soooo much - that used to last me all week, I didnt even get my cinnamon balls - seems to be the flavour this baby likes Oh well roll on October and my bloody inheritance arrives - so infuriating knowing it sat in a bank account somewhere and I cant do a bloody thing with it

Better go and tidy up a bit, dp home at 5ish, how the heck you manage when your dh goes on for weeks on end is a mystery LGT - you are an amazing woman, glad Phins cardiac results were ok, can you not leave the boys with anyone to make it easier?

MKG · 04/07/2008 15:57

Lupins--he's come around. He was happy don't get me wrong, he's just an idiot. But he's a man, so we can't expect much can we.

Lupins71 · 04/07/2008 17:46

Lol I understand completly, are you celebrating independance day at all, wen we were in florida it was a huge event - almost as big as xmas and thanksgiving, lots of parties and stuff going on.

Oh told my mum this morning, she was cool a bit excited and has been planning all day, altho she does realise that it is early days and may not yet come to anything

DP still not back he agreed to help out wit an extra job and it took alot longer than expected

largeginandtonic · 04/07/2008 17:55

Pink!!! Have a lovely holiday, i expect intermittent snaps of the gorgeous girl while she suns herself Relax and enjoy it, you really need this holiday.

Happy Independance day MKG Double time at work sounds good. Will the age gap between the next two be the same as Mateo and Cruz? How are you feeling. I knew you were pregnant, it was the tomatoes Are you drinking marinara sauce out the jar yet?

Scoot i cannot believe you have had such an unbelievably shite time recently. I hope the weather holds out and you have a great time at the festival, you are another person that needs a holiday. Although i think sun, sea and sand would be more the ticket than mud, wind and no hair products. Hope dh gave you a huge hug when you came in the door that night.

Lups that buggy you showed before looked fab! Such a shame it does not recline at the front, it looked so good for tackling all the walking you do. Will keep my eye out. Have a happy birthday tomorrow! What are you doing for it?

I have my nuchal fold scan tomorrow. Hoping mil and fil come down so i dont have to take all the dc. Fingers crossed, am a little paranoid since the Phin situation. Wish dh could be there too

I have overdone it today, work this morning, shop in Asda (god i hate it in there >) and then cleaned both the bahrooms. My back is crippled, i can barely move without wincing and stickig my bottom out >

Lupins71 · 04/07/2008 18:52

LGT would the nucal have shown anything wrong with Phin? And would you have acted on it? I think no is the answer to both, you has an amazing wonderful beautiful dd, I do understand about the worrying but try not to dwell to what could or may have been it is pointless and unhealthy, hope it really is ok tomorrow will be thinking of you - what time is it? My bday isnt till monday, I was chatting to my mum about buggies - I think se does it just to humour me! anyway so far I tink the powertrack is the way to go

largeginandtonic · 04/07/2008 19:52

The nuchal would have shown an increase in the fluid behind the baby's neck and i would have been advised to have further tests. I would have had the tests and it would have conclusively shown her to be a TS baby.

It meant she could have been treated from birth and we would have had some warning. No idea how much of a diference it would have made to her (mostly to her height as growth hormone could have been started at 3 as recommended) but to me i would have had years of certainty instead of years thinking i was crazy as i just knew there was something not quite right.

I take the same approach with anything, i like to be prepared. I am sure tomorrow will be ok but...

I think i am off the powertrack now, i need a car seat to fit on it and a carrycot. The only ones that are fitting the bill are the icandy and zoom. The bebeconfort twin club would but i have a friend who has it for her twins and it is a monster to steer. If the car seat could lay totally flat like a carrycot that would do but the jane matrix does not fit on the powertrack only the twin two and that is a beast like the bebconfort. Oh the dilema, i really dont want to mess it up. DH will implode

Lupins71 · 04/07/2008 20:02

I thought the matrix went with the powertracks?? mine did, it was a single 360 but deffo had a lie flat matrix car seat - in fact thinking about it I think its at my dads, I too dont like the look of the powertwin, I saw a mutsy 3wheeler today, would be totally impractical but it did look lovely. DP has already resigned himself to the fact that if all goes well then I will no doubt have to try at least 4 differant ones lol, Have you looked at the Icandy pear tandam? that looks nice but the rear seat looks quite restricted in its view, ooohhh dilemas dilemas! I can understand you wanting to be prepared, I didnt realise the nuchal would have indicated anything - fingers crossed for you

Themasterandmargaritas · 04/07/2008 20:39

Runs in drops tired head on the desk. Sniffs around for MrsJB and possible ciggie smoke.

Day 1 of the summer holidays - over. 59 left to go...

Scoot and Pink, have loads of fun you both deserve it.

LG&T, good luck my sweet for tomorrow, I am certain it will all be fine. don't do too much. Who needs clean bathrooms anyway? Dh isn't there and do the kids care?

Gotta love your work ethic my girl. Not to mention your sense of humour.

Talking of sense of humour, TYG where have you been the last few days? Don't be quiet, you can't be having the baby yet it isn't the full moon.

So today I have had at least one of three children velcroed to me at some part of the day, all bleedin day. And they want to talk, all the time. We get up, I try to solve an email crisis on my computer and they demand breakfast fgs, I have my boden sale list to hand with my 2 hour time difference advantage, no sale, not til 9am my time, when all 3 dc want to play outside, the plumber is plumbing away and then the landlady turns up, I have to get to the vets before 10.30 to process the PITA dog's licence because the Pound men are around, stop to get some groceries and pick up two little girls who are coming for lunch. I prepare lunch, the dog sneaks in and eats the prepared lunch. The chi-chi mother of the two children arrives for lunch. J wakes up, strops when he sees ice cream, eats ice cream before lunch, eats lunch. The sun is shining. The friends leave to go home and the world's largest storm erupts and it rains hard. And it rains. And J gets more and more stroppy. So we all make fairy cakes, J attached to my hip, the other two spooning cake mixture all over everywhere and me trying to stop the dog from getting in. No dh as he is in Mauritius . The dc have fairy cakes for supper. There is no water for their bath. I should have just let them stand outside in the rain. I can't imagine what tomorrow may bring.

Lupins71 · 04/07/2008 21:46

You all have my sympathies come the summer hols - I get it day in day out, how can children want to talk so much , generally most days end with my brain feeling like mush - and now the weekends and I have dp to contend with too - what did i do in a previous life

JamInMyWellies · 04/07/2008 21:50

SOH I know you are lurking, loving that you were the second post on the bumsex thread

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 04/07/2008 21:53

Oh Master You poor thing! Put the paddlng pool out with bubble bath in it for a bath tomorrow, they will love it.

Lups the powertwin may have fitted the matrix in the old style but i cant find out. The new one does not (played with it in the shop) shame as the car seat looked lovely and would have been perfect as a carrycot.

The icandy looked great, small chassis too. It did look a bit cramped though. Dunno...

Am off to see TYG later in the month and will play with her zoom while there. Am hoping the little chap has popped out so i can squidge him too

Master i had to clean the bathrooms we have the student still. She is great though, no complaints at all. Anything you give her is covered in ketchup and that pre mushed parmesan in a tub, we watch her in a amazement. DH said there is no way her mother lets her do that at home I am indluging her, she aint mine

MKG · 05/07/2008 03:23

Hi all I just got home (10pm here) and first of all work was crazy because it's been raining all day and the fireworks were cancelled and no one did their BBQs so they went shopping. So anyway I come home and the front door is open, Mateo answers the door (Bed time is 7pm) and the house was destroyed. DH was passed out on the couch.

Poor dh he had such a rough day at work. He said the restaurant was so busy and left an hour late. He works so hard, I didn't curse him out like usual. I just put a blanket on him and let him sleep.

I'm feeling pretty good, nausea has gone away, no marinara sauce yet, but I did have a hot dog smothered with ketchup today .

LG&T there will be the same age difference between this baby and Cruz that there was between Cruz and Mateo. I don't mind, I think it is a perfect age gap.

fourlittlefeet · 05/07/2008 10:38

Hi all, just popping in to say hello! Scan is on weds, so hopefully will be back properly after that.

Those of you working at desks, really thought this desk massage technique really relaxing, as is the nice swedish lady

AprilMeadow · 05/07/2008 17:22

Hello ladies

Hope all went well with your scan LG&T.

FLF, you must be so excited to see beany on Wednesday.

Forgot to wish you happy 4th July yesterday MKG. Hope you had a good day.

Just been to Guilfest today to see my friend perform in the Rock Choir. Weather was fantastic and i am quite burnt! Only stayed a few hours as the kids were getting tired. Dh is away this weekend at the Silverstone Grand Prix. I think i will be taking the kiddos to the local Army Show tomorrow if the weather is good enough.

MrsJB hows life as a non smoker? Give us a shout when you are free for a natter xx

largeginandtonic · 05/07/2008 17:23

I have been scanned! The sonographer was lovely, she took loads of pics and was so thorough. The baby looks very healthy and is low risk so far, bloods have been sent off. She also had a go at sexing the baby... and do you know what she saw no willy!!!! She sexed her own daughter at 12 weeks. We will wait till the 20 week scan before thinking anything (i remember MKG) the baby was very compliant and she spent quite a while there having a look. We were the only ones there!

I am a bit mil was beaming though

MKG thank goodness the boys were ok. Is dh well rested now? Ketchup (bleurgh)

MKG · 05/07/2008 17:46

LG&T --Yay! for the good scan. Don't tell Phin yet, she'll be heartbroken if it turns out to be a boy.

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/07/2008 18:05

at LG&T. We keep our fingers crossed.

PMSL at MKG's household chaos. Sounds like home to me. Hope dh has recovered today.
