Do really have a posting style?

I never really think I do, but I guess everyone does, but not everyone's is instantly recognisable. I am also one of those people who doesn't believe they have an accent!

lackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2008 14:50

have a good time andie.

We must get the tent out before the end of summer. I can foresee a lifetime of camping hols for us though as with three it'll be too fecking expensive to do anything else.

Am lurking around the nappy sale boards again.......tell me to stop it!

Oooops, MHC!!

Stop it Daisy [wags finger]

A year ago from now I was just coming to terms with being told I was 6cm dilated. It hardly seems any time away.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2008 17:21

I think all I need is a couple more wraps and I'm sorted. I'm going to do a thread in nappies though so feel free tom come along and tell me I have too much fluff!

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2008 17:23

oh, trace . It just seems never ending for you and chloe. I think it's always good to get a seciond opinion on these things though; as you say there is no point putting her through the trauma of an operation if things are going to catch up by themselves in time. Thinking of you all xx

how is the coealiac dx going for her and DS?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/06/2008 17:33

Trace Sorry to hear that Chloe might need an op. Hope you get through all of this soon so you can settle down and just enjoy her without all this worry.

The jamlet isn't too sure about her paddling pool. It was grey and miserable outside so after we'd been out to lunch (pizza express and she ate loads) we inflated it and (half) filled it with balls in the living room. She had a little play in it but wasn't sure. Duplo, and toy car have been a BIG success however. And she's been bum shuffling like mad today - more than ever before and helping herself to books off her bookshelf (well one particular book that she loves) and playing with her birthday cards. We have 3 mums and 4 babies coming tomorrow afternoon so plenty of clearing up to do tomorrow morning for us. And I've copped out and bought a cake. I was going to make one but they looked so good in the supermarket and I just couldn't be bothered .

justbeme · 13/06/2008 17:52

Happy Birthday Jamlet!

Sorry to hear about Chloe Trace - its never ending isnt it?

Im off tomorrow for 2 weeks - (staying in the UK so the weather better perk up!) I doubt I'll get online at all - hope everyone has lovely birthdays.

Have a good holiday jbm

I hope you're doing OK; thinking about you.xx

DS and I were doing some homework at the kitchen table and I cought something out of the corner of my eye. DD had climbed onto DSs wooden kiddy chair and was busy pulling stuff off the worktop. then she started "helping" sort out the recycling. Will get the photos on FB soon!

Our meeting with DSs teacher went well. Her main criticism was that he finds it hard to wait to take turns and is always shouting out in class....but only because she thinks he is v clever and knows the answers ! Also he takes too ling in the cloakroom and can be a bit of a distraction with the oither children. We had a good chat about him while he and DD played (she cried when we had to leave, bless her), and then talked to him. From his POV he said he was bored because he knows a lot of the stuff and doesn't want to do it as he's already done it in his head. Anyway, we came up with a joint strategy to help him get his work done, be a bit more considerate of the other children, get a shift on in the mornings and to do his homework. All in all a good meeting, we just need to work on setting him more realistic work targets.

Enjoy your holiday JBM. Hope you get to relax plenty.

buntinglicious · 13/06/2008 19:04

Trace, sorry to hear about the op. Hope things look up for you soon.

Jammy I really want to get DD a ball pool! Glad the Jamlet had a good day.

Daisy, sounds like a good meeting and a very sensible way of dealing with DS. DD sounds very advanced for her age, talking and climbing already!

JBM, have a good holiday, hope you are feeling better.

Daisy I've checked out that website, there are a couple of things that I would love but can't afford

buntinglicious · 13/06/2008 19:07

I bought one of these for DD today from Jojo, couldn't resist, even though it's her birthday next week. She keeps saying "boo, boo" (meaning moo!).

FrazzledFairyFay · 13/06/2008 19:28

for DD Trace, I don't blame you for wanting a 2nd opinion.

Have a lovely holiday JBM. My DH is off work next week so we're going to have an 'at home' holiday for a few days and then we're off to a wedding on Thursday/Friday - I'm desperate for the break. In fact Dh has booked me in here for a day on Wednesday, as a treat - I think I shall be asleep most of the day

DD is still driving me nuts - wetting herself and then denying it, refusing to do things, stropping and generally being a horror. I feel so hopeless about it at the moemnt - I just really hope that it is 'Terrible 2s' and doesn't last too long as I'm finding it really hard to cope with. We have DS's birthday picnic tomorrow and I just want her to behave .

lackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2008 20:10

fairy, have you got her something to distract her? a gift pack of colouring books/sticker books etc. I think with younger ones it definately helps if they get a little something as well so they don't feel totally left out. The spa looks grand. i soooo need something like that. Will ask for Christmas I think.

bumper, I can't believe some of the prices on there...and DH thought the metal one was a door handle . I might treat myself though......2nd trimester hormone surge has well and truly kicked in and DH less than enthusiastic

bumper, DDs fave toy is a cow that we got in Belgium...very cute as well...and also called MooMoo.

She is a little minx at the minute. She managed to climb on the sofa yesterday as well, but definately needs to work on her dismounting technique...she body surfs back onto the floor. I don't know where the words are coming from tbh...but she does try and repeat everything and can do a fair old impersonation of the cat purring as well.....maybe she is going to be the next great female impressionist

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 13/06/2008 20:17

thanks daisy - dh is taking her out to get some party stuff tomorrow so will suggest he gets her a couple of small things too. Her and DS are the only children and I'm sure the adults will make a fuss of her as well as DS, so hopefully it will be fine. I am finding it all very stressful tbh. There were tears tonight - mine not hers.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/06/2008 20:23

ikwym...DS practiacally unwrapped all of DDs pressies and takes things from her when she starts palying with something. He just can't seem to let her get on and do something by herself. He was even wrestling away the wnacky basket I made up for her, claiming it wasn't fair as he didn't have one to play with

Just try to stay calm, smile serenely and tell yourself "this too shall pass"

and do you have a reward chart thing going on? maybe try X no of dry days equals special treat? something that's about her and for her only?

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 13/06/2008 20:27

Thanks Daisy - DD unwrapped all of DS's pressies too - although he was totally disinterested so it didn't really matter . She does have a reward chart but it doesn't seem to work. It might be too big - ie too long to earn a reward. I might have to rethink that one.

I'm not very good at serenity
