Morning all. Sorry I went awol last night. Was just too tired. Didn't have a good night either. Jamlet woke about 11, and was really upset. I think she's teething as she was all drool yesterday and I think that was the problem. After about an hour we gave her calpol and she went straight down after that - wish we'd done it sooner But she woke at 3 and I just gave her a feed as I couldn't be doing with trying to settle her otherwise.

She's very excited this morning as the living room bin isn't in it's usual spot so she has access to a whole new corner! She can finally get at the books on Mummy's bookcase! Might go swimming this morning, depending on how she is and then this afternoon it's the Teddy Bears' Picnic at the local library.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/06/2008 07:09

And I felt so old looking at your chat on old tv progs - I didn't know half of them!

And Jamlet is in nursery all next week. She normally just goes Mon/Tues when I'm at work, but thankfully they had space to take her all week. Of course it's costing us an extra £111, so I hope work honour my request to be paid for the extra hours I'll be working, rather than giving me time off in lieu, which is normally the preferred option.

Morning all,

Daisy and other potential testers I had this email from Jessica at midnight last night-

Dear mothers, parents, mums, dear all!

I had an e-mail from a lady today who didn?t like being referred to as Dear ?mum? in inverted commas. Consequently I feel a bit sensitive about how to address a lot of people anonymously without causing offense. She also thought my tone was bossy a rude, so I must apologise for that too.

My next groups of testers I need are for the following:

NURSERY PRODUCTS (e.g gro-bags, cradles etc. often aimed at babies under I year)

TRAVEL PRODUCTS (various items)

BREASTFEEDING PRODUCTS (e.g breast pumps, breastfeeding tops, nipple creams etc.)

BABY BOTTLES (with newborn teats and often aimed at relieving colic)

You were too late for some of the other products you replied for so I thought I let you have the first chance to respond to this one before I send it out to more testers tomorrow afternoon.

Can you please indicate which group of products you would most like to test? If more than one please state your order of preference.

Bottles and Breastfeeding Products will only need to be tested by you. However, for Travel and Nursery Products you will need to have 3 or friends to test them with you.

Best regards

Jessica Milln

Mother & Baby Awards Coordinator

PMSL at someone emailing her to tell her she was bossy! I bet they didn't get to test anything!!

So it looks like I was too late for double pushchairs, even though I emailed within 4 minutes of the email arriving! Some people were obviously very quick off the mark!.

Got my peer supporter group this morning, I'll let you know if I get told to steer clear of nuts or drink milk again!!

Hope everyone has a good day,

Peace out xx

I must have watched a fair bit of telly as a child. I particularly remember The Flumps, Bod, Bagpuss, the Clangers, Hong Kong Phooey, Itsy & Bitsy, Pipkins, Captain Pugwash, Jackanory, and Banana Splits. Oh and I loved Swish of the Curtain!

LittleMissNorty · 20/06/2008 09:02

Got the same e-mail Holly

Oh well....perhaps next year!

Glad Birthday party well well Ria ...and thanks for your congratulations - I didn't realise you didn't know (it was the reason my gall bladder operation got cancelled!)

Happy birthday to Bumper's DD

Morning!

I didn't get that email so fingers crossed I can do some testing! Hope you guys get to test something. What a mean email for someone to send her though.

We've had a lovely morning. DD got her horse. She liked walking along with it, but only when I was keeping her steady, she's a bit of a wet blanket, she liked being pushed around though. A friend bought her some fairy wings and a fairy skirt which I am making her wear all day .

Jammy, I worked 4 days this week as I was on a course (had to do an exam yesterday!) and am full time next week to make up for the time off I had covering DH. It wasn't too bad this week, I'm sure you will be fine.

Sorry I missed all the theme tune chat, I love theme tunes and was a real TV addict as a child. Didn't do me any harm either! I managed to get 2 degrees, and my knowledge of 90's theme tunes is second to none

lackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2008 09:31

i got that e-mail too, but it says "some of the other products" so I'm still holding out a little bit of hope

Have replied for travel products in the vain hope of something, but AAAAAARRRRRRRSSSSSEEEEEE. If I'd bothered to heve my email set up properly on this new pooter, I would've got the fecking emails sooner so my own stoopid fault I suppose.

I have half a list of email addresses/names remember....I might start stalking them all until whoever has them gives me a twin buggy....maniacal .

only kidding of course

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY BUMPER!!!!
Love your horse

justRia · 20/06/2008 09:56

happy birthday baby bumper, have a great day. Am of fairy wings but I suppose baggins might get the odd chance in the nativity when he's bigger?

i love bagpuss. i bought the video for me ds1 when he was little. we have a toad musical box for baggins.

Did your DH get work sorted bumper?

My DH is not working again (but has to be on JSA instead of incapacity benefit because he got signed off for the same medical problem they have dismissed so we would get practically no money) He does occasional hours at a hotel about 20 minutes away, and his DEA (I think that's her title) has advised him to get a "proper" part time job, the tax credit top up should make it manageable. They are currently not interested in helping him re-train. So he is doing an adult literacy course as he didn't take English O-level under his own steam. In two weeks it will be a whole year since this ridiculous situation started (and his ex-boos is still spreading rumours etc)

justRia · 20/06/2008 09:58

I want a bacon and egg butty. And we have none.

annobal · 20/06/2008 10:32

Hello!

Ria, hope you have your bacon butty now.

And Happy Birthdya baby bumper

Bumperlicious · 20/06/2008 10:45

Hi annobal! How's it going? Settled in yet? How are the Ds's setting in?

annobal · 20/06/2008 10:51

Hi Bumper! How is baby bumper? What are you doing today?

We're all doing fine - boys settling in well. DS1 loves kindy and have finally found somewhere for DS2 as he is going out of his mind and wants friends his own age ().

We've finally finished as much as we're going to do on the house for the time being and move in next week. Really looking forward to that as we really need our space back. Dps have been great but think they might need their space back too..

We've just found out that DS1 has a hearing problem and will probably need hearing aids - was only picked up at pre-school screening so was a bit of a shock for us all.

justRia · 20/06/2008 10:58

Hi annobal, good to hear you're doing ok. SOrry about DS1 but it's good they picked it up and I believe they really do thrive once they are diagnosed and "treated". Good luck with the move into the house.

Jammy, wasn't ignoring you, those tops are lovely. I really like the pink evans one. I think it would go better with me and Dsiss' communal "funeral trousers"!

Baggins is a bit outo f sorts today - too much excitement last night I think.

andiem · 20/06/2008 11:33

Hi Andie. Wow, you sound very busy. What are you planning for tomorrow? DS3's isn't for a few of weeks so have a while to plan something. TBH it has kind of crept up on me. I like the idea of the number 1 biscuits.

Sorry about DH Ria - can't believe it is still going on . Hope Baggins is better.

Sputnik · 20/06/2008 12:07

Happy Birthday Baby Bumper
