thanks for that mhc

holly, is this too gaudy? I think you'd prolly get away with it!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/06/2008 21:46

Wow sputnik, that is a great site! There are some really funky things on there...and thanks MHC, I'd forgotton about ASOS. I used to get stuff from there all the time.

That is really interesting about the let down and stress. I love to know these things, you never know when they may come in handy!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/06/2008 21:49

No, not too gaudy at all, but prob the wrong colour for me. I tend to look a bit washed out in yellowy things because I'm so pale!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/06/2008 21:53

Yay!! I'm done working for the week

Don't know how I'm going to cope next week - I'm doing a full week at work, because they've got me on some course. But it's a year since I did full time. And I'll miss DD too But I won't have to do my evening stints

Love some of those dresses btw, specially that pink floral £100. But wouldn't suit me though.

Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend then jammy to charge your batteries for next week!

I love this one, I know I said no black and white, but it is gorgeous! It is the right price and they have my size and even dp just walked in and said "Nice frock"! However, I don't know how appropriate it is to wear white to a wedding! I could colour it up a bit, I have some bright pink shoes and pashmina and my mum has a pink fascinator I could borrow. Not sure. I doubt the bride will be wearing white as they have been living together for a few years, so it may be ok!

Hi all. Thanks again for bday wishes. Baggins had a lovely time and a great tea party and waved nicely when the GPs got up to go. He didn't even get annoyed that DS2 nicked his presents to play with. He is getting loads of stuff out of the "vault" too so I don't feel so crap about his lack of prezzies. I am a bit though. I need a good kick. This time last year I was catching a suppoedly dead spider that had been under the bed opposite for 24 hours and trying to chuck it out of the window above my bed in the maternity ward - but found out I couldn't climb up to do because of post labour stiffness.

Sorry for Sputnik and baby sputnik, and for you and the MS Norty (massive congratulations BTW, didn't mention it before because I wasn't sure if I'd skim-read wrong. If you believe the old-wifey crap you might get a DS this time? IME it's not true, the MS just gets worse the more PGs you have...I haven't drunk coffee since before DS2 was born, all comes from working in a coffee shop when PG with DS1 and a restaurant with DS2)

Hi natty, hope it all works out ok.

jammy I'm sorry I can't sponsor you just now

I haven't looked at the pretty frocks because I would cry. I need a top I can wear with pink trousers for the christening, unless I have a financial miracle and can get a nice new outfit that won't make me look like a whale. I do still have my matalan vouchers from xmas...

FWIW I think there could be some truth in the nut thepry holly. Exposure is how immunisations work isn' it?

Phew long post.

justRia · 19/06/2008 22:17

what is a fascinator?

justRia · 19/06/2008 22:19

Hi bumoper and DKMA too. and anyone I missed.

while I have been awol DS1 has started to start sentences with "IIRC" and it makes me think of you guys every time.

He has been cast as one of Maid Marians ladies in waiting in the end of year play. He is mighty pissed off. I have Monty Python aspirations for his part

I think I see. a bit stylish and classy? I don't know what a bilibo is either. Not sure what planet I'm on

I think size 22 should be ok as I'm not so fat from the waist up. apart from my arms so sleeves are essential, elbow length? According to Trinny and Susannah I need a v-neck as I have a BOGOF chest. I had spotted a ;ovely tunic in matalan, but I didn;t lose any weight and it doesn't go with pink (pale). Of course I will be religiously trawling the charity shops so may end up with something not pink (hopefully). Sorry, am tired and babbling.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/06/2008 22:27

Glad you have had a good day ria, don't be about the pressies, we haven't got ds's yet and it is on monday! He is only going to get a garage and some cars from us, we have far too many toys.

Yes MHC, it was my fave show! I have a few episodes on video! I am now singing some of the songs in my head!

lackaDAISYcal · 19/06/2008 22:27

fascinators

glad the birhtday went well Ria. What colour pink and we'll see what we can do!

holly, I think you'd get away with it as it's not all white, but some people at the wedding might be a bit about it...but you get that whatever you wear!

I passed by similar frocks on my travels through the cyber shopping mall, but rejected them as not part of the brief

justRia · 19/06/2008 22:27

I used to watch that MHC, though Tony Robinson can only do one kind of character it seems. Even his schools history programmes are similar (used to watch them with preschool DS1, that is why he is so clever and eccentric I think)

justRia · 19/06/2008 22:29

I am gutted that DSs play doesn't have the weetabix song in it.

lackaDAISYcal · 19/06/2008 22:31

i used to love that mhc....sings "marian...why dontcha....marry him.." tony "baldrick" robinson was in it!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/06/2008 22:32

Sorry daisy, I am a difficult client! I'm going to try and go to town tomorrow and see if they have it in Oasis. Don't know if I can face it on my own, but really need to get into Clarks before the weekend shoppers buy all the shoes . Why don't fecking Clarks have an online shop?

I remeber getting home from school and watching it! I still remember all the words!

I saw Tony Robinson in a cafe in Trafalgar Square once. I nearly wet myself with excitment, but out of sight of him!! He is very cool!
