Hi everyone, back again.

Time to catch up a bit...

Stefka - Glad the appointment with the dietician even if it was a bit mentally tiring, i'm sure the sessions will help you. Hope your sore throat doesn't last too long, it's such a bumer being ill and not being able to rest when you're looking after the lo, sending (((get well vibes)))

J20 - Hope it went ok givingthe statement and wasn't too stressfull.

Floria - at your dh being insensitive, glad you gave him a telling, he deserved it!

Alice - glad you enjoyed your spontaneous day off . Hope you manage to decide whether to move or extend, I vote for extend but IMHO I think both will probably cause about the same amount of disruption but extending might involve less packing... can you tell I moved not long ago and don't want to do it again for a looooong time?!

Inzi - LOL at Jane growling, that reminds me, Dylan has started trying to do a cat impression now, very cute!

Well, off to chill for a bit, hi to everyone i've missed x

Stefka · 30/08/2008 11:18

Record sleep from Dareh last night!! He went from seven until five without a peep. Woke at five but went back to sleep after I popped in to give him a kiss until half six. Can't believe it!

Am wondering if it is ok for me to go down to two breast feeds a day as I need to try to get some work.

DH working all weekend so on my own the whole time. Going to try and keep busy with exciting tasks like the food shopping.

Dalrymps · 30/08/2008 11:35

Ooh thats great stefka, bet you feel refreshed after more sleep. Hope it continues!

I know! Where is everybody??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????

Hi inzi

muppetgirl · 31/08/2008 18:18

We're back!!!!

We had a FAB time and I would thoroughly recommend camping with boys and that is something I never thought I'd read myself saying

We arrived around lunch time on fri just in time to put the tent up. Ours is a huge tent so I was glad we were camping with friends so they could help dh. We went into Poole for the early evening and took the boys to the beach (5 boys in all Henry being the youngest, then 1 -18 months and Ollie and his 2 mates who are all 4) We had fish and chips by the sea whilst the boys paddled. Henry ate the fish and chips we did and was really happy watching the boys play. He slept absolutely fine in his travel cot in the tent all I did was to make sure it was darker than usual before putting him to bed but I kept pretty much to our usual routine and he went straight down and slept through till about 7am. We had a fire in the evening and the older boys toasted marshmallows.

The next day we went to Swanage on the park and ride which is a steam train! Ollie nearly wet himself with excitement it was like something out of Harry Potter. The council apparently subsidise it so there are less cars in the town. We spent the day at the beach with the boys burying themselves, swimming in the sea and eating ice creams. It was a fabulously hot day (I was in the shade yet still got red marks, I hate being fair!!!) Henry sat on the mat taking it all in. We bar-be-qued in the evening and had the fire again. Even the dogs were well behaved. I would definitely recommend Swanage and we'll definitely be back there next year sometime.

Absolutely knackered and will spend the next few days washing, it seems, everything we own but it was great. I've put some photos on facebook if you fancy a look.

Hope you all had a great weekend
xxx

Stefka · 31/08/2008 19:20

Sounds brilliant!!

My day was dull as dishwater. DH at work and I have the cold. Took Dareh for a walk and it pissed down and I got soaked.

Went to argos to buy a toaster.

That was it! How sad.

alicet · 31/08/2008 19:34

Muppet sounds like you had a fab weekend! Nice one! We have a tent too and really fancy camping with the boys but a bit too chicken to do it before Adam is a little older!

Stefka we went to soft play this am but other than that we did the walking with the boys getting pissed on too! Made a bit better with a coffee at the end of it!

Also been doing a bit of a sort out - gave some of our baby things to a mate who is expecting! Dh and I trying to decide the best way to go with the extension... Current fave is to get the house into a decent state (done bugger all to it since we have been putting off and off 'till we get the extension' and it really needs loads of work) over the next year so we don't go mad factoring in loads of storage and better use of space and then move once Sam has got into the school we want (we could go further out and get a new house which although I much prefer old houses both dh and I are too lazy to do the work needed). Or do part of the extension then we don't have so many worries about money which we would have by doing the whole lot....

Hello dal and inzi and everyone else!

Dalrymps · 31/08/2008 21:16

Muppet - Sounds like a fab time! I've actually never been camping, not sure why, just not had the oppertunity.

Stefka - We had a pretty boring day too today. Went in town and bought 2 birthday presents for Dylan then fed him dinner at pils, then came home and all fell asleep then went back to pils for tea.

Oh, and we got rained on too but whilst dashing from the house to car then car to house. Did it rain everywhere today?!

Alice - We're constantly having a sort out at the moment, be glad when we're done!

Well, i've got really bad PMT today (another sign i'm not preggers) and have kept reminding dh of this casue I have been biting his head off all day .

I also cried at a dvd I was watching, it's a free one from the NCT called 'mums the word', I saw it advertised in a baby mag I bought and rang up to get my free copy. It follws 2 mums and their stories from choosing where to give birth to giving birth, I love that kind of thing. There was a series called 'desperate midwives' a few years ago which I was addicted to!

Anyway, I creid cause it had an advertising feature about brittax car seats and there was a demonstration of a rear impact with a dummy in a car seat but I suddenly found myself imagining Dylan in that situation and burst out crying , dh had to give me a hug! Oh dear!

Hi to everyone else, hope you all had a lovely weekend, chat soon x

Stefka · 01/09/2008 08:45

I can't watch anything remotely to do with children suffering in anyway now without crying!

I think there may be a rough few weeks ahead for us. Firstly because DH recently went self employed after his friend said he had set up this subcontracting business and could get him work. A month on he's gone very quiet on us and I think he's not telling us something. This week DH has some work back at his old job and then nothing. I really don't know what we are going to do.

Secondly his brother is coming up. His brother is trouble. He's never been on the scene without causing a problem. I also hate the way he treats DH. He stole a lot of money from him which he never paid back and the last time he was up this way he didn't even bother to come to see the baby which really hurt DH. Needless to say I think there may be trouble ahead.

alicet · 01/09/2008 09:11

Dal can totally relate to crying about that sort of thing!

Stefka hope its not as bad as you say... I too would have a bad feeling about dh's friend who said he would give him work and has since vanished. Has your dh tried calling him? Hope his brother just wants to see his nephew finally and isn't out to cause trouble...

Meant to say that we have stopped Adam's late feed - last night (night 3) he went till 5am and then 7.30! Fingers crossed it continues!

Stefka · 01/09/2008 09:23

The friend is still around just being very evasive about the work. He says they haven't paid him so he's not going to work for them anymore but it doesn't add up. He's not telling us something. I don't trust him at all anyway.

Not seen brother in law for two years. I invited him up for DH's birthday. He asked me to book the train ticket and he would pay me back (ha ha - still waiting) and then arrived with some random girl and the two of them basically lived off us for the next few days. They didn't so much as buy DH a cup of coffee. Every meal, every ticket for anything they went to DH paid for. I was furious and DH felt horrible. I've no time for the guy but if he can come up and behave himself it will make DH happy so here's hoping.

Stefka · 01/09/2008 09:23

And DH just called to say he's had a car crash. Luckily no one was hurt - his van is bashed up but still working.

Dalrymps · 01/09/2008 09:35

Hi everyone,

Glad i'm not alone on the crying thing!

Stefka - Sorry things aren't going as smoothly as they should be. I hope this 'friend' doesn't let him down, although it sounds a bit dodgy, maybe best for dh not to put all his eggs in one basket for now? With regards to his brother, I hope he prooves you both wrong and behaves but i'd be on your guard if I were you, just because he's family you don't have to trust him.

Alicet - Thats good about the sleeping, hope it continues!

Well i'm tired this morning and it's nothing to do with Dylan!
I have an insainly itchy rash on my neck with starts at my jaw and is all over my chest aaarrrggghhh!

I don't know what is causing it, I do get excema but usually only on the inside of my elbows. I've had it for at least 3 weeks if not longer and it almost went away but now it's back again.

The only other time i've had it to this extent was just after I had Dylan so I don't know if it could be hormone related or maybe stress related? I don't really feel overly stressed though?!

Anyway, I was up until 2.45am scratching/trying not to scratch until I started crying (again) cause I just wanted to sleep and dh had to comfort me. I had to put a cold flannel on it and plaster it with sudo crem. I managed to sleep after that but i'm bloody sick of it

Decided enough is enough this morning so have made a docs appiontment this afternoon, I hope she can give me something that works!

Ok, thats enough moaning from me just had to get that out.

Hope all you ladies are having a nice morning, chat soon x

Dalrymps · 01/09/2008 09:37

Oh no Stefka! Glad your dh is ok and wasn't hurt. Do you know what happened?

Stefka · 01/09/2008 09:41

He ran into the back of someone - he doesn't know how it happened he said but he must have just not seen them. He stood on a slug this morning outside our house and is convinced that the day is now going to be bad!!! I am trying to stay positive for him to click him out of that mindset. He is hoping to put in a proposal to his old boss about some work and I think it is important he is positive for that. Poor boy - he's really stressed about the job/money situation.

Dalrymps · 01/09/2008 10:07

Oh dear, well glad he's ok. Is that a suspicious thing about standing on a slug and it being a bad day? Never heard of that one before . Well, it can only get better from here, hope this stressfull time passes soon.

Stefka · 01/09/2008 10:18

I don't think so! I think he just decided it was bad karma or something. I just hope he can get some work sorted out.

It's raining here again - Scotland is rubbish.

Dalrymps · 01/09/2008 10:23

Oh I see. I hope he can get some work too. We're the last town before scotland, usually rainy here too although we've got a rare burst of sun at the moment.

Oh god, my chest is itching again, off to put a cold flannel on it.

Back later, hope the rain stops x

alicet · 01/09/2008 13:33

It's rainy here in Newcastle too if that makes you both feel any better!

Stefka glad your dh wasn't hurt and agree with Dal abot him not relying too heavily on this friend and about keeping your guard up with bil. Maybe friend really isn;t getting paid and doesn't want to involve your dh in work he won't get money for either? Or maybe he's involved in something dodgy and wants to keep your dh out of it. So he might actually have your interests at heart... Or he might be an unreliable useless git! Or of course something in between

We've had a lovely am at a mate's house with her 2 boys who are the same ages as mine - not really seen much of her for ages so it was good to catch up. ALso saw another mate there too briefly - again its been a while so nice to see her too although didn't get to chat so much. Both boys now sleeping (Adam didn't sleep this am) so time for lunch, MN and chilling!

mama2one · 01/09/2008 14:32

hi, is this the right place for babes born in Oct 07?

alicet · 01/09/2008 14:51

Hello mama2one! Yes it's the right place! Welcome!

I have ds1 who is 2 and a half (Sam) and ds2 (Adam) who was born in Oct last year...

mama2one · 01/09/2008 14:59

I have ds Maddox born 31st oct. Just dealing with the transition of crawling/walking which seems to be keeping him from sleeping! He wants to be practising all day! Standing in his cot at nap time and screaming blue murder at nap time is one of his favourite passtimes right now! Highly infuriating!

LisaLessLumpy · 01/09/2008 16:53

Hi mama2one.

I have ds1 Sam who is 3 and Ben who was born on Oct 5th. He is being a nightmare with crawling/walking too, just wants to do it all the time and if you try and sit him in one place he screams blue murder. Also don't get me on the subject of nappy changing that has become a whole new nightmare

Stefka- sorry to hear your dh is having a rough time of it atm, can't be helping you either. Just remember we are here for you if you want to vent/need anything.

alicet - fingers crossed the sleeping through continues for you.

Dal - I hope you get your rash sorted soon, have you seen the doc yet?

Oh and it has been raining continuously in Derby since yesterday lunchtime I hope it stops by Saturday as my SiL is getting married

LisaLessLumpy · 01/09/2008 16:59

Oh and you will never believe what Ben did yesterday

He crawled/climbed up onto Sam's little blue armchair which the seat part is about a foot high and next to his toy box. He then climbed onto the toy box, and then stood up on the toy box next to the window which is 2 and a half foot off the floor I couldn't believe my eyes. Little monkey is going to give me some heart palpatations I can tell you.

Oh and now he is moving around so well Sam is becoming very frustrated with him as Ben breaks anything he has built and tries to take all his toys off him. I have already caught Sam in the nick of time looking like he was going to bite his arm He has also pushed him over a few times, so I need to keep a close eye on both of them.
