Hi everyone, sorry I was missing for a while, went to pils on way home and ended up eating tea there. Thanks for asking about Dylan.
The doctor said Dylan has a slight temperature (37.9) and as he has been vomiting it could be a urinary infection so I have to take a urine sample in tomorrow morning to be tested before she can prescribe any antibiotics. She said if the urine is clear then it will just be a viral infection and it will just pass on it's own. She said in the meantime to give him calpol 3x a day which the other doc on monday told me not to cause 'he only had a bit of a temp' this makes me a bit as he could have been a lot more comfortable all week if i'd given him the calpol but felt I shouldn't as the other doc said I shouldn't. Anyway he's had some tonight and I think he's a bit cooler and happier now.

He had babyrice with peach and pear for breakfast and has drunk 18oz of milk today (his usual amount), he wasn't interested in dinner or tea though. He seems warm and tired today, not as much energy as usual and seems a bit fed up although hasn't been crying, just not his usual self. He had diarrhoea when we got back from the docs which he hasn't had so far so now i'm wondering if it is just a viral infection after all...
Gonna take the urine in in the morning anyway though. He has only been a tiny bit sick at 8pm tonight, just a burps worth really so thats good.

Floria - wow at Alex, seriously, he is a genius and has definatley been here before! Sorry the sleep has been disturbed, hopefully this PHASE will pass quickly.

Hi to everyone as usual, been a bit quiet round here lately, maybe it's just me who doesn't get out enough!

Chat soon x

Mine · 08/08/2008 21:46

FT - WOW at Alex!! He is moving on leaps and bounds. I cant believe he's doing so much and not even a year old!! Go Alex!

Muppett - i love those kind of questions! What did you tell him??
Congrats to Henry for learning to clap.. you know he'll just keep clapping at EVERYTHING now don't you!

Dalrymps · 08/08/2008 21:49

Muppet - x posted, what a sad question for ollie to ask , well done on him playing tennis though!

Mine · 08/08/2008 21:51

x.post Dal- don;t you just hate it when you get 2 completely different instructions from GP's? I get that from HVs and it drives me nuts.
Well, its good news that he's slowly starting to feel better and not vomiting as often as before. You're doing brilliantly by just giving him some TLC.

Mummys ALWAYS know what to do, and babies ALWAYS turn to you when they are feeling a bit crap.

muppetgirl · 08/08/2008 22:11

Hi Mine + Dal

Dal - glad you've seen the dr and are hoping it is just a viral infection but if it is a urine infection then at least Dylan can have some ab's xxx

Mine - We have had death and dying since we saw a hedgehog that had died the other day. Ollie said 'we'll just take him to the hospital and he'll be fine won?t he mummy?' I then had to explain that no, this hedgehog had died and that meant he wasn't coming back. He's obviously been thinking and has now linked death with Daddy for some reason. He even asked me to 'promise Daddy won?t die' which I said it was really unlikely to happen so he should try not to worry about it. He then went on to ask 'where was I if I wasn't at yours and Daddy's wedding? I can't wait for school to start so someone else can deal with the questions!!!

Mine · 08/08/2008 22:30

muppet - good explanation!! I guess all children go through a phase of being inquisitive about all things like death, birth, sex, affection....... have you had the 'where do babies come from?' question yet?!!!

I have a 6 year old cousin, a very cute and inquisitive little madam, who thinks kissing boys = babies !!

I love it!

muppetgirl · 08/08/2008 22:39

Not so much where do they come from, he knows they grow in mumy's tummy but he's asking 'but where was I?' He can remember a time before Henry but can't imagine a time before him!

Dalrymps · 08/08/2008 22:39

Mine - yeah I am secretly enjoying the extra cuddles i'm getting but feel sad at the same time he's poorly... Hope you're feeling ok today and have managed to get out of the house at some point.
Good answers Muppet, we've got all this to come I guess

muppetgirl · 09/08/2008 08:04

Okay, I asked Ollie a question today and he's still having a good think... He doesn't like me saying I love him as he says I always say it so I asked him how he would know that I loved him if I didn't say it? He's still thinking about that one!

Dalrymps · 09/08/2008 08:10

Aww muppet thats so sweet wonder what he'll come up with?

muppetgirl · 09/08/2008 08:12

...he's said

ehem...

'You tidy my room and make my bed'

I love him xxxx

LisaLessLumpy · 09/08/2008 08:12

Lol - Good one

Ben had another go at crawling forward this morning, he did two knees forward and then went a whole lot more backwards then he cries because he gets further away from something he wants and gets all frustrated

muppetgirl · 09/08/2008 08:12

GO BEN!

Dalrymps · 09/08/2008 09:02

Muppet - Good answer
LLL - Sounds like Ben is on a mission now and isn't gonna stop till he gets what he wants woo hoo Ben
I've just spent an hour and a half waiting for Dylan to wee for his sample but... nothing. It's too late to drop it in today now, had to be by 8.30am. Oh well, will hae to take it in on mon now.
On a more positive note he wolfed his breakfast down and was opening his mouth for more, either he's feeling a bit better or the calpol is helping

Mine · 09/08/2008 09:24

guys... dumb question here..... how do i link another thread here so you guys can click on it??

I see people doing it to threads and other website as a link but i can;t work out how its done!!!
I feel soo blonde!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 09/08/2008 09:31

Dal - glad things are a bit better with Dylan. Can't imagine trying to get a baby to wee at a certain time!

FT - they edited that round and even cut some of the answers out - we obviously came up with too many for the length of the show! I did actually give an answer for that last one (Richard II) but he then said it was out of time. But I wouldn't have won anyway, I was struggling and the other guy wasn't hesitating. And they were much the better team - we were amazed we'd won the first show to be honest! Hope Alex settles down for you soon - but what a lovely welcome for your dh.

Muppet - can't believe you're so energetic! I'm exhausted just reading it! And oh crumbs at Ollie's questions - I'm dreading that phase! lol at the 'tidy my room' comment.

LLL - poor Ben, it's so frustrating when they do that.

Anya's pulling herself to stand all the time now. The only problem is she has no idea how to get back down again - she's supposed to just do it in reverse so go back to kneeling, but if I try and do that with her she shrieks at me. Eventually I have to pick her up and lie/sit her down or she just lets herself fall over. She's very good at cruising too - although she gets confused when she reaches a corner - so walking isn't far away . Considering she's not supposed to be pulling to stand until she's over a year old, and was likely to take anything up to 2 years to walk, she's doing alarmingly well! (Very proud mummy!)

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 09/08/2008 09:34

x posted Mine. Have just tried putting an explanation but can't do it any better than the one to the right of your message box - where you've got the list of smilies there's a bit underneath that says how to do links.

Mine · 09/08/2008 09:42

thanks WWAJC !! I should have seen that one myself!!
Well done Anya!! She's proving all the Dr wrong!! You should be proud of her.

Muppet - i love Ollie's response! He;s growing up to be quite the little man.

Can you guys help me with this at all.... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2400/583372

i hope this works

Dalrymps · 09/08/2008 09:46

Mine you bring the thread up, copy the adress from the top by selecting it then right clicking and selecting copy. Then come on to this thread and type your message and where you want the link to be put before it and after it. If you just want it to show the address in between the marks then thats all you need to do, if you want it to say something like 'this thread' you would type [[ then the web address, then leave a space and write this thread then type the last two . Hope that makes sense.

WWAJC - yes trying to get him to wee was impossible, I tried opening his nappy to let the fresh air in and giving him water but nothing happened, oh well.
Go Anya on the crusing, Dylan can't even crawl on his knees yet! Although he canc omando crawl

Dalrymps · 09/08/2008 09:47

Oops, a little late with that explanation ... off to look at the thread

FloriaTosca · 10/08/2008 08:08

G'mornin'[cross/grumpy emoticon]
Warning I have only come on for a moan...please pass over this post if you want any news of interest...I'm just tired and cross and am writing to stop myself going and kicking Dh as he snores in bed.
It isnt anything important, just, my lay in morning is Saturday and what do you know Alex, though he didnt go to bed untill 10pm sleeps until 2am,bfs and goes straight back down, does the same at 5am and then miracle of miracles instead of his usual 6/6.30 doesnt wake until 8am!!!So Dh,having had an extra 90mins sleep gets up with him, but brings him back to me again an hour later screaming for bf because "he wouldnt eat his breakfast".
This morning, Dhs' lay in, Alex had gone down at 8.30pm, didnt wake until 3.30 (so of course I had been awake and worrying for an hour)Bfs but doesnt settle until 4.30, wakes again at 5.30 and Bfs, and wakes yet again at 6.30 with no intention of going back to sleep,(though I try everything until 7.00)...and just as I'm taking him out of the room Dh says "Do you want me to take him?", feeling it only fair I say "But it is your turn for a lay in", "After all that noise I dont think I could get back to sleep" he says, "In that case ok" says I with relief. "Oh" he says "I'll just give it a go and come out in a bit if I dont make it" and rolls over!!!! [anger]..so now you know why I want to kick him!!! Is that sort of mental cruelty grounds for divorce?

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 10/08/2008 09:34

Floria - Just go and kick him, you'll feel a lot better
Don't you have some VERY loud kitchen appliances you need to use?

FloriaTosca · 10/08/2008 10:21

Thanks Dal...good ideas! Sadly he's up now...with apparently no comprehension why I'm so cross (despite my snatching water from the lips of someone in the Sahara analogy)....but he is off work for the next 2 days and has promised me a lay in tomorrow...if I dont get it I think the Kenwood chef will be busy mixing and kneading bread and the juicer will be decimating carrots, I'll prepare breakfast with the cooker hood on full blast, the washer and dryer and dishwasher will all be very busy and Alex can play with his musical toys on Tuesday!!!!

OP posts:
FloriaTosca · 10/08/2008 10:22

...and I'll give the dog his squeaky toy back!!!!!

muppetgirl · 10/08/2008 10:38
