muppetgirl · 06/08/2008 22:03

Thanks everyone! I did notice that he sounds very wheezy when he's on his tummy -anyone have this? (I ask as I can count on 2 hands the number of times he's been on his tummy so it's not something that's usual for us) He's a pretty hefty chap and he's always been chesty, in fact he's never not had something lurking on his chest but he seems to struggle for breath when on his chest. Am going to phone the HV tomorrow to ask for advice as I'm typing this it really doesn't sound right does it?

London meet up -NH Museum is great for me Sept is probably better as Ollie will be at school and I can get dh to work from home so he can collect him from school.
xx

Mine · 06/08/2008 22:20

I'd definitely ask the HV abt it Muppet.
It'll be nothing i'm sure, but it costs nothing to ask and getting seen to if needed.

Re london meet up - i can do ear;y sept as i go back to work on the 15th of sept

Dalrymps · 07/08/2008 09:53

Morning ladies,

Muppet - I agree with mine, the wheezyness is probably nothing but best to get it checked out

Mine - I know exactly what you mean about everything taking so much energy out of you, sometimes I just feel so lethargic and have hardly done anything! I think I need to exercise more cause I think i'm getting tired cause i'm not doing enough with my body if that makes sense?!
Funny you should mention walking in the rain cause I was so desperate to leave the house yesterday that thats exactly what I did. Unfortunatley I didn't think through my choice of footware and wore my (fake) crocs and got soaking wet feet , I went down to pils for a bit.

Alice - whats happening with the terrible twos? I'm sure you're coping brilliantly whatever the little monkey is doing.

Dylan is still not well , I thought he was getting better cause he hadn't been sick again, he still had a bit of a temperature but I thought it would just linger a bit then go away. Anyway, for 3 days now he's basically just eaten his breakfast (babyrice/cereal with fruit)and not much else all day apart from the odd spoon here and there. Yesterday evening he still didn't want his tea but even though he was off his food he had been acting happy and jolly all day so we just thought he was being a bit fussy. We were at pils and he wouldn't take it from us so mil had a go and managed to coax him in to eating some banana custard by letting him suck it off a biscotti and then he took the whole pot. After that he drank 3oz milk.
Anyway, when we got home he had another 4oz of milk as we were about to put him to bed, then as I sat him up he was really sick again , emptied his stomach and covered himself and me. We changed him and offered him the last oz of milk just to get the taste of sick out of his mouth and he drank that fine and went to bed.
I'm wondering when this is going to end? It seems that any time we get him to take a decent amount of food he's sick, seems to be drinking his milk ok though but i'm worried he'll lose weight and hasn't got a lot of reserve to loose.
Today i'm just going to offer him milk and see if he will take a bit more than normal and then see how he is.

Anyone else had anything like this? been like this since mon evening (i think).

Hope everyone is having a nice morning anyway, hi to everyone I have missed

J2O · 07/08/2008 10:12

muppet-def wont do any harm to get checked out

Dal-Shannon is being similar, she hasn't been sick again, but she's refusing most of her bottles, not really interested in food, and generally not herself, hopefully they have both got a bug, bit weird that they've both got the same type of thing at the same time though.

we went for the scan yesterday, Shannon was terrified and clung to me when we went in the room, and screamed as it was done, the woman said i will get a letter for an appointment for the specialist, i asked what would happen if it was clear, and she kind of hesitated, then said i will prob get an appointment anyway to get the results, she gave me the impression that she had seen something on the scan i really hope i'm just being paranoid.

I hardly got any sleep last night, and ended up bring Shannon in with me at about 6a, i was layed on her blanket which she wasn't very impressed about, i turned away for a few seconds and when i looked back, she had hidden her blanket behind her back, wrapped round her and just grinned at me as if to say 'Ha ha, its mine!' she was also playing the game of hiding her dummy in her blanket, and i had to find it.
ooh and shes started giving kisses, which is really cute, although not too sure about the tongue getting shoved in my mouth lol

hope everyone is well today

FloriaTosca · 07/08/2008 18:05

Just a quickie to say I'm watching battle of the brains and WWAJC you look very glamorous!

OP posts:
FloriaTosca · 07/08/2008 18:30

WWAJC!!!! You kept that quiet! Not on just once but you are going to be on again!!!!And well done you!!! Looking great and not putting a foot wrong either!

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 07/08/2008 18:37

Wow WWAJC I agree with floria, very glamorous indeed! Your team won also, WELL DONE!!! I would not have known the snooker question!

LisaLessLumpy · 07/08/2008 18:53

Bugger I missed it Someone remind me earlier for next week

FloriaTosca · 07/08/2008 19:08

J20; What a sweetie Shannon is (even if the kisses are with tongues!)I dearly hope you are wrong about the scan (poor little darling being so scared too!)and I hope the bug clears off quickly...I'm glad that it doesnt seem to be depressing her spirits as well as her appetite.

Dal; Poor Dylan, just as you start to get some weight on him this hits....no wonder you sound so concerned...I'm sure it is like J20 said, just a bug...but I know how you feel, its the last thing you want. FWIW I think you are doing the right thing offering him milk, little and often...it is packed full of calories and vitamins, will keep him hydrated and hopefully it will stay down until whatever it is is out of his system. incidentally there has been a lot of gastritis amongst the los at the groups Alex goes to...so far it seem to have given him a miss (FT runs round madly trying to find some wood to touch superstitiously). I dearly hope he is better soon too.

Muppet;as everyone else says, getting him checked out wont do any harm.

Alice; the terrible 2s? I hope it is just a flash in the pan, the result of so much excitement and activity over the past few weeks and over with before it truly starts.

York meet up looks like Alice,J20,Dal and me...we know LLL can't make it this time...WWAJC are you comin'? choc is still at pils isnt she? anyone else?

OP posts:
J2O · 07/08/2008 19:39

damn i missed it! what channel was it on? can you get it on the net?
Shannon has had quite bad diohrea(grr sp) for the past few days too, i'm wondering if its because i had to change her milk as Farleys no longer do the milk i was using, and there new one is apparantly different anyway, and nearly twice as much! that may also explain why she wont drink much of her bottles.

J2O · 07/08/2008 19:42

ft-she is very cute when she does it, also her 'high 5' and waving goodbye are funny, isn't it great when more of the personality appear, she's also frightened when we go near busy roads, bless her.
just out of interest, what formulae does everyone use?

oh and any comments
herewould be helpful please

Dalrymps · 07/08/2008 20:22

Floria - thanks for the sympathies, yeah it just seems one thing after another with his feeding, just wish we could get food and milk in to him and he would gain weight normally for a while. Hopefully he will be over it soon and we can get on with building him up a bit. He's had more milk than usual today as i've been trying to keep his calorie intake the same but without the food, hope it works, am relieved he'll at least take the milk!

Dalrymps · 07/08/2008 20:59

He's just been sick again , totally randomly, was just sat on dh's knee and started throwing up. All he's had is milk. Hope it stops soon.

FloriaTosca · 07/08/2008 21:54

Dal;It is a good sign that he is taking the milk ....but sorry that he has been sick again ....at least he kept down most of his feeds so he has had the necessary calories and hydration ...personally I'd go to the GP tomorrow if he hasn't improved, just to set you mind at rest.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 07/08/2008 22:19

Have finally come out from behind the sofa. Floria, we had a very good make-up lady who put lots and lots on me - it's needed for the camera. LLL, next one is TOMORROW, not next week (it's on daily). J2O - BBC2 6pm. You might be able to see it on iPlayer.

Anya went to a petting farm today with dh - trip organised by Surestart. She loved it, but it was really crowded with kids so she didn't get to see many animals. DH got really quite annoyed at the other parents who wouldn't give Anya a chance to stroke a rabbit before their kids all piled in - think Anya found it a bit overwhelming. But the weather was nice and there was a little train which Anya went on, which she loved - she giggled all the way round. All in all they had a good time.

Her tooth is through properly now - so eating/sleeping are pretty much back to normal.

J2O - hope Shannon's results are ok, try not to worry. Lol at the kisses. Anya sort of does that - if I try to rub noses with her she pouts and sticks her tongue out. Very bizarre!

Dal - poor Dylan, how's he feeling now?

Lisa - poor Sam with his wasp sting. Very jealous about Ben's trouble-free teeth. And woohoo for crawling.

Muppet - lol at Henry ordering Ollie round. He's pretty much got life sorted hasn't he? Well done at his rolling. Not sure about the wheezing, not had that.

Choc - have a good trip, hope Rebecca enjoys it.

Can't do 1 Sep - we're away in Derbyshire that weekend (near LLL I think!) - not back until Monday pm. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works - but if everyone else can make it, don't rearrange it on my account, I'll catch up with the next one.

Dalrymps · 07/08/2008 22:19

Yeah thats what mil said, he did see a doc when it started on mon evening but not since. He's still got a slight temperature too. As you say, it's good he's taking the milk, he drank another 4oz after he was sick before we put him to bed so that's good.

muppetgirl · 08/08/2008 08:33

Dal - how long has it been since he started being sick? I ask as if I were you I would take him to the drs When Henry had this a couple of weeks ago he has fat reserves that got him through but I feel you're going to worry about Dylan even more as he doesn't have these reserves. Henry was happy and chirpy mainly with a few bouts of just grumpiness which is unlike him, how is Dylan? Does he seem lathargic or listless at all?
Henry's lasted just over 10 days which is exactly when the HV said to take him to the drs if it went beyond that. He's eaten everything and more since then though

wwajc -are going to catch you on iplayer
x

love to all, need to go as running later and everything's a mess!

Dalrymps · 08/08/2008 08:46

Muppet he hasn't been sick since last night, it's weird, he only seems to be sick in the evening , he's been sick 3 times in total (mon, wed, thurs) but seems to empty his stomach when he is sick.
I've made an appointment with the doc for 2.20pm this afternoon.

He seems really quite jolly, even when he's been sick he doesn't cry and he's back to smiling and making silly noises again straight away. I would say the only difference in him is possibly slightly less energy that normal but only aboout 10% less.

I phoned nhs direct this morning too but they just said to keep him cool and give him plenty fluids which i'm already doing so not much more help really.

Off to see if he'll eat some babyrice, back soon x

Mine · 08/08/2008 15:25

Any joy at the doctors Dal...??

crochetdiva · 08/08/2008 18:20

Just checking in with you all ... hope you got some answers at the doc, Dal!

FloriaTosca · 08/08/2008 18:56

Popped in to see how Dylan is...Dal?

WWAJC; that was no fair!!!!!!You went first, answered just as many play titles, and just because you took a little longer to remember the next one you lose, I think that was just not right!...Well done you and all your team, shame about the result.

Well my only whinge is that Alex (for the first time..as he has always gone down at 8pm without fail)just wouldn't go to bed on the last 2 nights...like Inzis Jane he seems to have develloped cot phobia...we have had lovely (all smiles and kisses) but tiring 2/3 extra hours up playing followed by bad nights (I think he is having nightmares)and his nap schedule is all over the place again so it looks like it will be another 10/11pm bed time for him...ho hum..."it is a stage, it will pass"....On the plus side Dh got a wonderful welcome home from Alex, who on seeing him at the door, ran down the room squealing with delight shouting "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!"....(what happened to "mu-mee!"????? he hasn't said that again for a month!!!)

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 08/08/2008 21:31

Hi all

Floria - Alex is so advanced! I am still celebrating Henry learning to clap today Still Oliver makes up for it with his 'Mummy, will Daddy die?' that I had today

WWAJC - are still going to iplayer you x

Dal -how's Dylan?

Well Dareen my chappie slaughtered me today as he made me do the stairs with a 20lb rucksac on my back after lifting weights, press up, having Ollie on my shoulders and standing up/sitting down with him on my shoulders 50 times!!! The sweat was running off me!!
Feel really good for it though he mentioned that I should be doing 5k in 23/24 mins next year for the race for life so I'm really looking forward to that and also doing 10k races around about Jan.
Ollie wanted to play tennis so we did for an hour which was lovely. He wanted to play 'big boy tennis' which meant me lowering the net and hitting the ball to him with my tennis raquet 'not feeing it to me mummy' He managed to hit it to me I returned then he hit, I returned and then he missed. was very chuffed with him!

Was going to legoland tomorrow but it's going to rain like billiyo so not now.

xx
