Hi Simpson

Another West London girl! Just come back from Ruislip Lido! It was lovely, did an hours walk and then finished of with a Ploughmans at the pub. Maybe you could join us some time. I have met a few mums through netmums who meet up.

Thanks again for tips - sounds identical with the stiffening and screaming etc! Don't know how she is still putting on 5oz a week!
At least she sleeps through!

susiemj · 23/06/2008 16:30

Perapera - just for the record - have tried my DD, who is suddenly sleeping badly, with bits and bobs of food but she's not really interested. It certaily hasn't made her sleep more.

Feel very unprepared for tonight's ordeal. I don't know what my strategy is going to be. I think I'll go bonkers if she's in bed with me again.

Mixedmama - I don't think you're advice came through on my thread. ? ?

MrsBakerGirl · 23/06/2008 17:02

Hi Perapera

I would def recommend blackout blinds! My seven year old had them and he slept through from 10 weeks.

I have twins born January (obvious with the thread) and my DD is in her own room with blackouts and she has slept through from around 12 weeks. My DS is still in with me and wakes from 4am and we don't have blackouts. OMG he is so moving in with his sister as soon as DH can dismantle the cot.

Simpson - do you look at the local hillingdon site. joined some Hillingdon mumsnetters for a night out last week and we are planning another one soon. look out for the thread!

susiemj · 23/06/2008 17:24

p.s. thanks for suggestions simpson.

nicky6 · 23/06/2008 18:01

bakergirl vand a is the victoria and albert museum south kensington we are meeting tomorrow in the cafe at 11 and i reckon people will be away by 2 ish as have other lo to pick up so if that fits in with the other stuff you are doing you are welcome

may not be on again tonight so see the guys for the meet up tomorrow

simpson · 23/06/2008 18:08

MrsBakersGirl - that is uncanny we are going to Ruislip Lido tomorrow!! My DS does not go to playgroup on tuesdays so if weather good going to dig on "beach" and take the small train etc. Will definately check out local site.

Susiemj - good luck tonight hope things improve.

Perapera - I have black out blinds in both Dcs rooms. Ds slept through from 5 mths and DD has been sleeping through for about 2 weeks now. Worth their money in gold. Only problem is when we go on holiday. When DS was small we went to France and ended up sticking black bags to window in desparation!!

Well DD in bed already as she does not sleep much in the day and DS playing out in garden with kids from next door boys aged 4 + 5. I envisage melt down when it comes to bath time as he gets SO overtired playing with them.

gingeme · 23/06/2008 18:54

Hi ladies. Will catch up later. Just wanted to know if the meet up is still happening tommorrow and is it definately 11 am?
Thanks x

perapera · 23/06/2008 19:51

thanks everyone - I have hung the biggest darkest blanket over our windows. She seems to have gone to sleep remarkably quickly so maybe they are already working! But the evenings are not usually the problem, it is the 4.30-5 am slot that I am interested in... We'll see what happens tomorrow morning!

lilyloo · 23/06/2008 20:00

Hoping we all get a good night tonight , if only there was a fool proof manual

MrsBakerGirl · 23/06/2008 21:02

Good luck perapera!

Let us know how it goes!

justkeepswimming · 23/06/2008 21:15

too tired to catch up properly and off to bed any minute.

gingeme - yes 11 it is. i will aim for then, should be able to leave here before 10 as long as nursery drop off goes ok....

gingeme · 23/06/2008 21:16

Anyone? Please?

gingeme · 23/06/2008 21:17

Ah thankyou . See you tommorrow then.

AngeChica · 23/06/2008 21:18

Hi new ladies.

Posted on feeding thread re DS vomiting and this easy digest formula I have tried today. Was told I should go back to exclusive breastfeeding and 5 months is too young to wean.

Think I'll just stay on this thread in future...

Anyway DS has been far less sicky today. He didn't seem to like it at first but is now taking it without protest.

Definitely think LOs are more wakeful when it's light so early. I have a blackout blind in DS's room and have even gaffer taped around the edge of it!

hugs to you Susie. Are you going to put the moses basket inside the cot for a few days?

madmouse · 23/06/2008 21:19

Hi all

I am still alive

the move went very well and nathan coped admirably. Majority of boxes unpacked and what remains is mostly books.

So all went smoothly except ruddy broadband provider effed things up and so we are stuck on dialup for the forseeable future hope you are still around when this is sorted grrrr. I am rather attached to 24/7 internet.

hope you are all well

LuckySalem · 23/06/2008 21:58

Ange - I hate the way that MN is sometimes - everyone is too busy telling you your doing something wrong rather than helping your question.

Had abit better of a night last night. DP didn't come to bed till 4:30 which was when DD woke up so it is him.

We've rented Saw4 which we're gonna be watching tonight. I'm soooo scared! lol

barristermum · 23/06/2008 21:58

Hi girls, sorry it's been so long and really really sorry but trial still ongoing so won't be able to come tomorrow - jury are just taking FOREVER! Have a lovely time and will try and come in the future so gingeme can cuddle her surrogate daughter who is such a giggly happy little girl.

No real time for personals but sorry for excema, UTIs and sleep problems for little one, sorry for rows with dhs colleagues at work and lack of sleep for mums, welcome Mrs Baker - my next door neighbour had twins 2 and a half weeks after me and has never really slept since so maximum respect to you, and for whoever asked about going back to work, I am back full time and dd very chilled and relaxed about it all and loves her childminder to bits. I hated it at first but am starting to feel normal again. Never enough hours in the day and shattered by end of week and have to tank up on cuddles at the weekend but it's working at the mo'.
love y'all. xxx

lilyloo · 23/06/2008 22:03

So glad move went well mm , are we going to be here where else will we be think we cold man this thread 24 hours

Ange (yawn) didn't you know that glad to hear he taking it a little better !

Bmum so glad work is going so well and dd is happy, i think sometimes the thought of oing back is worse than actually doing it !

Lucky you have some odd taste in dvd's i would have recurring nightmares for weeks although may help me get into dd's body clock

simpson · 23/06/2008 22:06

Evening all,

Madmouse - hope you get your broadband sorted soon! Glad move went ok, just the fun of unpacking now!!

Angechica - hope sick has stopped. DD was in hosp a couple of mths ago with sickness and they said if it keeps happening dilute milk ie 5 oz water 3 scoops. Re weaning you know your baby fgs ignore them!!

Gingeme - hope you are ok?

JKS - hope you get a good nights sleep and you too Susie.

Perapera - good luck tonight hope it makes all the difference.

Nicky6 - enjoy meet up. Am going to try and make next one.

Mrs BakersGirl - let me know when Hillingdon meet up definately interested!

nicky6 · 23/06/2008 22:06

yes meet up definitely on 11 am see you there.

am pleased i have never been on any other thread than this one - where everyone is nice and not judgmental - lucky us eh.

sorry not to see you barrister mum maybe over the summer when the courts are a bit quieter. i have just accepted a case for jan 09 and have to go to court on wednesday - i think will be weird just going back for one day - like pretending to be a barrister for the day

night all

LuckySalem · 23/06/2008 22:08

Lilly - Not my idea. DP's I've told him if we watch this I want to watch both look who's talkings tomorrow!! lol

simpson · 23/06/2008 22:09

Sorry X post Lucky, Nicky, barristermum.

Lucky - let me know what saw4 is like am desperate to see it my brother says its the worst one yet!!

lilyloo · 23/06/2008 22:16

Is there another 3 before ?

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 23/06/2008 22:21

Yeh they are really sick films. I don't really like them cos its soo gorey but DP insists we watch them. So I make sure I get something in return and this time it was "look who's talking" woohoo

simpson · 23/06/2008 22:23

God I must be really sick then I love them!! Lots of blood etc! Got Saw out when DS was 2 days old and he slept through it in his moses basket - bad mummy!!
