lilyloo - I have the Tchibo (sp) highchair it is brilliant!! Lasted DS for ages as you just lower the seat and take the strap out of the front. Have you rung the head office they will let you know. They will also deliver I think. My local branch had them in stock about 4 wks ago.

lilyloo · 20/06/2008 21:33

Thanks Simpson i just think it looks sturdier than the ikea one ? Will give them a ring tom !

just come on to say TURKEY won in a nail biting game. Wooo hoooo. Trying to get DH to take me to newington green where i know the turks are celbrating but he is being boring. boo hoo

mixedmama · 20/06/2008 22:59

Ediz has been on 4 feeds for ages, mianly cos i just cant fit anymore into the day but they are 9 oz each so i suppose he is still getting the same amount.

Just read thru your messgaes so nice you were all thinking of my boys in red.

justkeepswimming · 21/06/2008 10:20

well done turkey!!
(i told dh last night we were supporting turkey for you MM but he was unconvinced about the turkey being in europe or not question )
well done anyway, may even watch the next game for longer than ten mins!
was in bed by penalty time.

ds2 up once last night for a big feed & a chat so spoke too soon about sleeping through...

off to see fire engines in a mo, once ds2 wakes from his nap (1.5hrs so far!)
buying fireman sam stuff on ebay, and watching our sky+ episodes on endless repeat....he is taking over our lives

frag - hope you had a better night? wish we could go to a baby cinema thingie.

ange - he is such a good weight, don't worry! in theory he could go in a forward facing seat now! tho it's to do with head control and body strength too. just think if he ever gets ill he will have a 'safety cushion' cos they can lose weight so quickly. silver lining

lilyloo - how's the blocked duct? they are painful ouch!

gingeme - how goes the redecorating???

back later...

Amani · 21/06/2008 10:44

thanks everyone,

rough night, same old story, going to see GP on Mon....

anyone doing anything nice today?

oh, dd2 just woke up got to go....

simpson · 21/06/2008 11:10

Hi all

DD was good last night slept 12 hrs straight. However we have had lots of screaming today. Have had to resort to calpol and putting her in the buggy and walking round block to get her to sleep.

We are supposed to be going out to kew gardens this afternoon. Lets hope she is better when she wakes up...

Fragolina · 21/06/2008 11:19

MM - woohoo for Turkey! Hope you celebrated even if you didn't go out Well done on making such an effort for your SIL (on your other thread), think its really sweet of you
Amani - fingers crossed for GP visit on Monday, hope they are helpful.
Lilyloo - thanks for sympathy re: sleeplessness. Was it a blocked duct after all?
JKS - enjoy the fire engines Hope the sun is shining where you are, as its pouring down here.
Nicky6 - what time do you do your dream feed?
Ange - Our feeds are: 7:30, 11:30, 2:30, 6:30, 10:00 (sometimes) and then one more in the night. No idea on quantities though as still bfing. As long as your boy is a happy healthy baby, try not to worry too much about the weight issue. LOL at your hubby reading about obscure sports on teletext.
Simpson - good morning

Had a MUCH better night last night! Tana had a bit of a scream at 1:30, but I ignored her and she went back to sleep til (drum roll please) 5am! And that was because she needed a nappy change...and I fed her too, and she still happily had her morning feed as well at 8:30. Fingers crossed we're turning a corner.

Have now packed her off with DH to have the car look at by the mechanic. Gave him a bottle as well in case she's hungry, and fingers crossed she doesn't need a feed til they get home, or that she takes th ebottle, otherwise, poor DH will be in for a bit of a nightmare.

That Tchibo high chair looks fab - does it come in different finishes though?

Fragolina · 21/06/2008 11:20

oops xpost simpson - wow on the 12 hours sleep! Hope your visit to kew gardens goes well

simpson · 21/06/2008 11:49

DD slept for 10 mins and the screaming starts again...

susiemj · 21/06/2008 13:10

HI

I tried to buy the Tchibo highchair but they never had it in stock. It's supposed to be fab. Ours is good. Baby likes it and it's easy to clean - although we haven't had to yet as she's not on solids.

ALTHOUGH we spontaneously gave her a bit of tomato this morning. We eat tomato on bread - Spanish style - every morning. I gave her a lttle bit of toast to see what she would do with it but she didn't think much of it. But her eyes were transfixed - as usual - on the tomato so DH dipped his finger in and gave it to her and she loved it. She even took a little bit on a spoon and kept asking for more. I know she's not strictly supposed to have it but it felt a very nice and natural way for her to start. Tried her on a piece of apple and she hated it This is going to be fun!

sorry no personals. I'm supposed to be renewing our life insurance

simpson · 21/06/2008 17:40

fragolina - think that is the only colour the tchibo highchair comes in. I can't beleive how much the price has gone up. I bought ours just over 2 yrs ago and I am sure it was £20.

Kew Gardens good DS loved the creepers & climbers room and also the tree top walk. But DD has not been herself today think she has sore tummy and she screamed the place down so we had to leave earlier than we wanted to. Lets hope we are not in for a bad night.

Also put the dishwasher on before we left with DDs bottles in when we came back I noticed dishwasher stuck at beginning of cycle. No clean bottles. Grrr...

AngeChica · 21/06/2008 18:02

Pan con tomate, mmm mmm.

DS has a new party trick. He blows raspberries on his arm or ours and makes farty noises. I find it hilarious.

nicky6 · 21/06/2008 20:28

frag - we do dream feed at 11pm

is everyone still up for v and a 11am at the cafe - never been so hope i can find the cafe.

all fine otherwise. have nice weekend off for charlie photoshoot tomorrow

justkeepswimming · 21/06/2008 21:12

Amani - poor you ((hugs)), hope the gp can do SOMETHING...

Simpson - hope the screaming stops soon, teething? colic? overtired and geting disturbed by sibling? not tired at all from sleeping 12hrs at night ?
bad luck re dishwasher

Frag - no sun but at least it stopped raining long enough to wander around fire engines for half an hour
hope tana has got the message...did she like the mechanic
i find that the state of the nappy has a direct impact on sleep. the 2 times that H slept 13/13.5hrs his nappy was empty when he got up - how did he not wee all that time? (and he wasn't ill)

susie - we are like you with food - gave H some pepper at lunchtime, he loved it! and he even managed to pick it up himself and get it in his mouth think we will get high chair out of shed tomorrow and see how well he sits in it. as the BLW site says, baby will let you know when they are ready, the 6 month thing just coordinates with current guidelines and with making life easier by not having to cut out certain foods (like wheat). think if we stick to safe foods before 6 mo we'll just let him have a go. not like he's actually EATING any of it anyway
gawd, life insurance, must ask dh what we've got sorted...

nicky - think it is def you, me & gingeme up for tues, poss barristermum? is your mum coming? i've never been there either, can't be too tricky to find the cafe tho?
have fun at the photoshoot, hope you get some lovely pics.
a photographer friend of mine has offered to do some of the boys to expand her thingie - mind gone blank - folder? file? you know what i mean right?
she normally does still shots of furniture/clothes/etc. so kids might be a challenge

well fire engines went really well, ds1 was a bit nervous at the beginning, think he thought he was being naughty getting in it! then he relaxed and loved it.
have another open day at a bigger station in 4 weeks, already looking forward to it

did some baking & card making today, plus took boys to the seafront (dh cycled with ds1 on the back) to play on some ride-ons, esp a fireman sam one that plays the theme tune sounds like a mad activity but he loved it! we only put money in at the end for us to see if he liked it but tbh he was happy enough just sitting in it!

right, wine & frost & home-baked cakes, yum

simpson · 21/06/2008 21:23

Jks - think it was colic. She is such a happy, smiley little thing usually. I had to change her bum in the baby changing at kew gdns and she screamed so loudly you would think I had poured boiling hot water on her!! My ears hurt. As I walked back to the table in cafe you could see everyone staring think I was torturing her!! It was time to get out!!

Also although good at night she will not sleep for more than 15/20 mins in day so I think she was tired too. Poor DS was busy playing and was whisked home quickly - cue temper tantrum from him!! Why is it so stressful going out with two!?!

LuckySalem · 22/06/2008 08:53

Having a bad day today so sorry to not include personals for anyone.

DD has gone back to waking through the night and i'm sure its cos DP is off on holiday and she's not used to having him there.
I tried the old trick I had when she first did it and tried ignoring her (told DP what I was doing first) and he gave her about 30 seconds before going over, picking her up and throwing her in the air, playing etc.
Then he fell asleep and left me to deal with her and try to get her back to sleep. Which took me another hour. She has then woken up at 5:30 this morning and wouldn't go back to sleep but he's snoring his head off upstairs! Ill be glad when he's back at work.

simpson · 22/06/2008 11:11

Sorry about lack of sleep Lucky. Hope things improve soon.

Going to my mothers for pleasing roast dinner today. Roast lamb and all the trimmings - Yum!

justkeepswimming · 22/06/2008 21:03

simpson - how was dd today?
it's so rare to get the 2 of them in sync with each other, when it works it's so fab, but it doesn't happen often does it?!

Lucky - sorry to hear about your bad day it is often harder when other halves are around cos they mess up your routine
tho they mean well, i think...

had a good day here, got high chair out of shed for ds2, sat him up for lunch & tea and let him have a go with pepper, cucumber & rice cakes - so we have officially started BLW, only 5 mo but he is so ready so let's just see how we go...

went to a farm with a steam train this afternoon, went on it twice, ds1 would have been on more if we let him! think even ds2 liked the sensation.

also got an old fridge-freezer out of the shed, cleaned it up and is almost ready for ebay, just unfortunately we seem to have lost a shelf for the fridge bit, do you think anyone will buy it now??? might try for 5 days then freecycle it anyway. it is NOT going back in the shed! part of larger plan to clear out/sort out black hole the shed!

everybody v quiet atm, enjoying the sunshine? (was predicted rain all weekend but lovely today).
yey, wimbledon starts tomorrow

AngeChica · 22/06/2008 21:09

It was grey and v windy up here. I had a blitz on the house. We have decided to take it off the market. 2 viewings in 6 months and we're in negative equity now . We might look into extending and getting a new kitchen instead as we may be stuck here for a few years I reckon.

Looking forward to Wimbledon too, yeah!
