Happy Father's day everyone! Dh got a card and some massage vouchers from Tana. Ok, OK, I'll confess, they were doing a buy one/get one free offer at the salon, so I bought two massages and got 4...gave 3 to DH and kept one for me . Figure we both need to relax a bit with this teething business

Another nightmare day with crying Fingers crossed for sleep tonight.

Glad you had a better day today lilyloo, Susiemj, so sweet of your DH (so when's your birthday then?), Madmouse - its a rule of life, there are never enough boxes when you;re trying to move, and somehow your belongings multiply themselves as well . Gingeme, hope the lo's cold is improving. JKS, thanks for thwe job congrsts and glad to know I'm not the only one to whom my boss' comments make no sense! Simpson - well done on cooking!

Fragolina · 15/06/2008 21:04

'scuse the typos. No glasses or contact lenses today (too tired for lenses and have destroyed my glasses)...and still haven't learnt my lesson even though I smacked into the glass patio doors face first this afternoon as I thought they were open. Very embarassing (witnessed by DH). And painful. Bless DH for not laughing and being very sympathetic.

nicky6 · 15/06/2008 21:06

all well here nice fatehrs day although poor dh ended up doing garden adn doing bbq tonight.

also been bombarded with people all day which was not our plan.

off to my mums for trip tomorrow. charlie loved swimming and actually we had quite a good nights sleep a little squawk at 4 and 6 but put herself back to sleep without me going in and slept til 8.30 well thats when i woke up and went in

Housemum · 15/06/2008 23:53

Ouch Fragolina - tip for anyone else who wears glasses, get some from glassesdirect.com - I just bought a funky new pair of black/red frames for £18 plus £4 postage - I figured that if they get wrecked I won't be upset as much as if she wrecks a £100+ pair! I've reduced my outgoings on contact lenses as eyes are just too tired to want to wear them at the mo so I was building up a stockpile of disposables - no w only get a pack every 2 months

simpson · 16/06/2008 11:33

Hi all!!

Frag - ouch hope you are not in pain today!

JKS - sorry to hear you missed fire engine. We have an open day at the school I want DS to go to next week and there is a police dog display. Last yr got there too late so must do better this year!!

Hope all the bad sleepers were better last night.

Forgot to mention in middle of roast dinner yesterday DD was on my lap and she grabbed a bit of leek and rammed it in her mouth!! Her face was a picture when she tasted it!! She would not let go of it for ages though, took me ages to prise it out of her hands!! All soggy!!

Sorry not to do personals to everyone but memory shot to pieces & have to go get DS from playgroup. Chat later...

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 13:00

Aftenoon everyone Frag loved the idea of your dh fathers day pressie

Yeah only up once after i fed dd at 11 last night feel almost human (said in a whisper)!

Simpson dd had some broccoli yesterday and sucked it then spat it out, think i m just going to give her the odd bit of veg when we have dinner to start with see how she goes!

Hi everyone. haven't much time to catch up, trying to sort house after a week of DH living alone in it, as DS, dog and I were staying down at parents last week. Journey home yesterday was gruelling. DS did a huge poo in the service station and it ran down his leg and all over my lap!

Have started to tentatively wean DS, he's sleeping happily in cot now, pogged on baby rice . Slight worry his weight gain will be even more astronomical once on solids!

SIL is expecting baby in Sept & they know it's a girl so have some rather flash hand me downs for DS from my nephew. They're actually too designer-ish for my taste because I don't like splashy labels. DS won't care at this age though!

Was round at bro's house and SIL's bro asked me when I was due! . A bit despondent about that but I guess I do actually still look about 5 months pregnant. I blame the CS. Been to buy lots of salads and weight watchers foods today ... the mummy tummy has to go (down, a bit, if I'm lucky).

Hope all well. PS Alek still not sleeping through either.

Will catch up in a minute... but woo hoo Turkey are thru to the Euro 2008 quarter finals, in a staggering comeback. Just had to share my joy that my huge flag that covers my whole bedroom window is not hanging out in vain.

mixedmama · 16/06/2008 14:23

Ok I sort of caught up...

JKS - the nursery only do morning / afternoon and full day which is rubbish as i will finish between 1 and 1.30. But they can keep DC until 2 which is when the pm shift starts, so that works out ok.

Frag - congrats

Naetha · 16/06/2008 14:28

hello all

Ange don't worry - you're not the only one that's had a "when is it due" comment! The guy who comes to mow our lawn's wife has just had a baby boy, and I gave them some of Ben's old babygros (they were going to put him in pink stuff left over from their DD for the first three months!). Today he said I'd be wanting it back soon! Really must shift my tummy! It's even worse since my boobs have shrivelled up as well - I never minded as long as my boobs stuck out more than my stomach, but it's the other way around now!

I've had a bit of a funny day with Ben today - we're having our bathroom done at the moment, and the builder is making an absolute racket! However Ben has slept better during the day today than he has done for months! IT usually takes him about an hour to go to sleep, and he;ll sleep for about 45 minutes at the most. Today he's fallen asleep in 10 minutes, and then slept for over an hour and a half both times!! I'm gobsmacked because it's so noisey! I might have to make a sound recording of the builder and play it when Ben's having trouble sleeping!

Last few days has been quite tough - DH has had to work a load of overtime. He didn't get home until half past one on Friday night (well Saturday morning) then had to work all day saturday as well. The longer it's been since Ben's seen his daddy as well, the harder work he gets - thankfully we had a lovely Sunday Lee offered to look after Ben while I went shopping to get stuff for our new bathroom, and absolutely put me to shame by doing loads of tidying up as well! I felt a bit guilty, but definitely made it up to him .

Also very jealous because DH has been invited by a mutual friend of ours to go on a motorbiking holiday in the Scottish highlands for a week in August. Ooh I'd love that!

Anyway, I'd better wake Ben up - it's been over two hours now!

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 16:29

MM i caught the end of that match and it was very good

Naetha get a white noise cd, ds used to be such a nightmare but he would always go off when the hoover was on!

Hi all

Angechica - don't worry i look 5 mths pg & did not even have CS!!

Mixed mama - well done turkey, however if Holland win the Euro we win £100 DH did bet before contest kicked off so we are cheering for them!!

Nicky 6 - hope you enjoyed your trip

Susie - we had total meltdown for bath today as well. But luckily DD calmed down enough to take 8oz little piggy!!

Gingeme - hope snot fest is passing!!

Housemum - may pass your glasses tip onto brother as he is always moaning about cost!!

Naetha - i feel for you my DH has been doing a LOT of o/t lately esp. late shift so I am alone with DCs till 11pm.

Lilyloo - Hope tonight is good sleepwise too!

Am off for nice bath and then going to watch a tv programme about kids who don't eat @ 9.00. see you all later.

gingeme · 16/06/2008 20:11

Evening ladies.
Lo still snotty and I think hes having a growth spurt or something as he waking twice again at night and draining two 8 oz bottles. As for his 'food' hes just loving it
Had a big spring clean in my big boys room today. Chucked loads of broken toys away and Im putting some toys on Freecycle.
Going to paint their room tommorrow.
Going to my parents at the weekend and bringing the bunk beds back so my boys have got big proper beds though were keeping them as single beds for a while.Going to buy some new curtains for their room too as their black out blinds are getting a bit shabby now.
Decorating our hall next week when we come back so busy busy busy.
George is making some lovely sounds now. Realy cooing and blowing. Its so sweet listening to him. He was realy giggling at his big brother this afternoon. They were playing pee po together
Well not much else to report.
Soryy I didn't do any personals but am glad your all ok.

fillybuster · 16/06/2008 20:35

Hi all,

Tamara is going through a whingey/clingey phase at the moment which is driving me mad...she bursts into tears at being put down on playmat/sat in chair/in ring etc but the moment I pick her up she is all smiles and gurgles. I've tried leaving her to cry but she'll just keep going ...this too shall pass...!!

Naetha - have you tried having a few soft toys in the cot for Ben to play with? Tamara is very attached to her enormous tiget and elephant (both about the same size as her) which lie on either side of her....we regularly walk in to find her sleeping with one of them right on top of her! She'll also lie and chat to them before falling asleep, which is cute

Frag - amazing news on the job, well done! Maybe your boss was just saying that because he has worked with you its harder for you in an interview than for an outsider as you can't get away with bullshit...? Very impressed with Tana's timing - ds did something like that when I took him into the office at around 4 months, its why I've been holding off taking Tamara in!!

Madmouse - glad the move went well - hope you settle in soon. And you may think you have more storage than you can possibly use but I absolutely guarantee that you will expand to fill it ...that's the number one rule!

My weight loss simply isn't happening...I shifted 6lbs and was feeling really pleased with myself (still had over a stone to go, but it was a good start), then put it all back on again Really really annoyed with myself. Anyway, have now completely stopped bfing and my lumpy boobs have finally reverted to normal, so am now going to start dieting and working out properly. Trouble is, its soooo hard not to have 1/2/3 glasses of wine in the evenings after a long day with 2 dcs....but I know I mustnt. Have invested in some good gin and low cal tonic in the hope that will help !!!!

OK, off to find some food for dinner - thats the other problem...by the time I actually get around to eating I'm craving carbs and eat all the wrong things Ah well, I've changed gyms and got a new training programme today, so hopefully I'll be inspired to start working out more often...

simpson · 16/06/2008 21:00

Filly - DD doing EXACTLY the same thing! Cannot put her down for 1 min have also tried leaving her to cry but gave up. She will lie on mat or in chair only if i am next to her showing undivided attention. Also liking my wine when DCs are in bed!! Have been good though and haven't had any since Sat. Bloody hard though.

However my MIL is coming over from Ireland on thurs and she is the MIL from HELL.So booze may be back on the cards! Already have a bet with my RL friends how many times in one day she will say "Poor wee DD is hungry give her a mashed up rusk in her bottle" I reckon at least 6 a day!!

Amani · 16/06/2008 21:25

LuckySalem · 16/06/2008 21:28

Hi all,
Sorry not been too talkative but the salem family are all suffering from a cold. Well...... I got a cold, DP got manflu and aaliyah just has a snuffle (it must be cos she's got a newer immune system)

She too has become clingy, I thought it was cos she was ill but as soon as I pick her up she's absolutely fine and due to my cold this is not coming over well with me at the moment and I'm losing my temper alot quicker (luckily I'm managing to just bite my tongue)
She's also started blowing raspberries in earnest - mostly when I'm giving her her food so she manages to spray me with whatever I was feeding her at that moment! lol

Hope everyone else is ok and sorry for not being personal but i'm sooo tired I just can't.

LuckySalem · 16/06/2008 21:29

I'm still up for a meet in birmingham. I need to do it afer July though in order to raise some money cos i'm spending my savings on a 3 day trip to see some friends in Eastbourne on 13th July.

AngeChica · 16/06/2008 21:30

Go Turkey, Mixedmama! Although I like to keep a weather eye out for La Espana.

So when do the boobs shrivel up? I am still BF Alek a little bit at night, though I really don't know how much he is getting out of it! I haven't had a period yet either .

Have packed away a load of his 3-6 clothes tonight. He wasn't in that size for 5 minutes.

Mmm, gin and tonic!

LuckySalem · 16/06/2008 21:33

Oh was going to ask about that actually Ange. Is anyone else who's no longer bfing still leaky? My boobs are doing my head in.
