Gill, hope your lo feels better soon! Did they not offer any medication for the cough then? Poor little boy, I feel so sorry when babies get ill, even with coughs or colds cos they just don't understand why they feel so crap. I get really emotional when ds is ill!

Hellibee, it's so funny, whenever ds is crawling after me and whinging or waking up in the night, I often think how the hell people cope with separation anxiety and teething when they have twins or more. I actually find it quite a reassurring thought cos people DO cope with them so it kind of makes me realise I CAN do it! IYKWIM?!

James, hope the outcome of the pg test is what you want. Keep us updated!!! I so admire anyone who has more than one child. However, me and dh HAVE decided that we don't want ds to be an only child and one day (not now!!!!) will try for another, maybe in a couple of years.

Well, I don't want to speak too soon but Joseph has slept through again for 3 nights out of 4 now so things are looking up. After a month of hellish nights, things are hopefully calming down. He's still not sleeping for the 13 hours that he used to but now gets about 11 hours which is still really really good and I feel a lot brighter and less fuzzy!

Oh knickers, I must remember next time dh gets up at the crack of dawn with Joseph, I will lie in til noon!

Hi, just a quick message just to say hello and I hope everyone's doing ok- we have no tv signal today so no cbeebies. eek! Think we'll get ready and go out for a bit shortly before he gets really bored.

I'm beyond pissed off with dp today, I reminded him last night that the binmen were coming today and he said "oh, I've already put the bin out, don't worry" - binmen just left and I noticed they didn't come anywhere near our house, just went to check and the bin is at our back gate! and what's more, he did that a fortnight ago too so by the next collection we will have 6 weeks worth of rubbish going maggoty in the bin, and a months worth in binbags in the back yard. The yard which we were supposed to be getting a babyswing for this evening- perhaps he thinks it'll be fine to let James play out amongst a load of rubbish, eh. I'm going to make dp take all the bags to the tip tonight, I'm so annoyed!

Yesterday was A Bad Day, I was so down, I don't know what's wrong with me, it's like pmt but my period has just finished, maybe I'm just a moody cow! felt too down to go and see the childminder so might go today. Hope everyone's ok, sorry about the migraines helibee, had one myself last night, they're horrible.

I'm back, lo is asleep on my lap so I have 5 mins peace. I've just discovered a bump on his head above the temple, smaller than a 5p piece but red and raised, I don't even know how he did it, he's constantly pulling up on things then slipping or even letting go. Yesterday he fell and bruised his cheekbone on a toy, I'm a bit worried to take him to the childminders with bumps and bruises all over him! She might assume the worst!

Oh knickers don't say that- I'm desperate to test and I have a test in the bathroom, but apparently there's no point as it wouldn't show up yet if I was. grr!

Yeah we love freecycle too, I've got rid of a bathseat, a bath ring, a motorised swing, and a clothes rail recently, it's great and saves so much time fannying with ebay! Speaking of ebay though I finally got a toy cylinder hoover for James last night so I'm really, really hoping he'll recognise what it is and play with it as he plays so nicely, quietly and contentedly with our real one.

Ds seems a bit better today although still won't go to sleep on his own without screaming. The doctor said he just has a virus and there is nothing they can prescribe for that meandmyjoe. He's such a happy baby normally that it's really hard when he's like this.

He's learned a new trick - when we tell him to dance he bends his knees and wiggles his bum

Helibee - Hope the medication does the trick. I used to get migraines all the time. It must be really difficult having to cope with them and the kids. I only tend to get them these days if I've been out in the sun too long or if I can't take Anadin Xtra. I can picture Callum's bottom lip. How cute!

Meandmyjoe - I've always found that sleeping well happens in phases. Illness normally disrupts it and then you find yourself having to go through sleep training again (IME anyway). Dd would only sleep 10 hours a night at this age.

Hope you're feeling better today James.

Glad everything's fine with the pg knickers.

GillL · 06/06/2008 12:42

I wouldn't worry about it James. Kids are always covered in bruises especially when they start climbing and walking. She probably won't even notice.

How long before you can do the test?

lizziemun · 06/06/2008 12:43

James any cm won't think the worst, toddlers are always covered in lumps and bruises.

If Lizzie doesn't have at least one new bruise a week i worry . So far this week she has slip on my mum wooden bridge in her garden and brused her coxex (sp), walked into the closed back door then into a door frames and then she fell out the front door this and she has been walking for years.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 06/06/2008 13:06

Hope you're right, I'm going to call her shortly and see if we can pop over. I hate seeing him coverd in bruises but I suppose they're all part of having a boisterous boy. Ouch, poor lizzies coccyx, that must have really hurt.

Gill aaw the dancing thing is so cute! James holds onto the sofa and bounces on his feet when songs come on, he love smusic especially the new springtime song on cbeebies. He was practising squatting all yesterday holding onto the sofa, it was funny, like ballet practise!

I don't think I can test til my next period is late (think that's how it works) so about this time in july. I know I'll cave before then though, I've already been and looked at the box once today. Just wanna knoooowww, mainly so I can have some of the lovely cider dp tres sympathetically bought last night.

OP posts:
lizziemun · 06/06/2008 13:15

I know this is a stupid question by why can't you test when this period is due.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 06/06/2008 14:39

Cos we did it a few days before period was due, and I asked on mn and they said it wouldn't make any difference whether I got the period or not, it's whether I got the next one, and could only test after that one was late. So roll on july 3rd-ish.

James is helping me type, joy.

Hey everyone, sorry havent been about recently. hope everyone is well. i havent had a chance to read back yet. lo has 5 teeth 3 on top and 2 on bottom. he has another chest infection but so far not disturbing. he can definatly move at some speed now though not on his knees yet. em.... think thats about it here. ill catch up with you all later, my boys are killing eachother out the back

tasha22 · 06/06/2008 17:10

that was supposed to be not disturbing his feeds. and he weighed 12lb14oz last week

tasha22 · 06/06/2008 18:32

oh and ds1 got glasses he looks so cute nightmare trying to keep them on though. ive had a quick skim and congrats to TT! and james i think you can test 2 weeks after conception back soon lo crying

My2Weegirls · 06/06/2008 20:40

hi all

tashsa - nice to hear from you how are you? - that's good news about your lo's weight. hope the chest infection clears up very soon.

james - i think i'd go with the not pg, since you've had a period. but do the test anyway. how did it go at the childminders? my 2 love theirs. in fact dd2 doesn't even notice i'm going and i've got to get a kiss from her before i hand her over (she opens her mouth and sticks her tongue out to give soggy kisses ). and dd1 she's off playing and i have to shout her back to get a kiss off her.

helibee - hope you are feeling better. i've got migraleve for my migraines - but i take it you'll be on stronger stuff? fridays are good days for us - always looking for something to tire/entertain the little tykes with! though the next 4 or so we've something organised including our holiday , going to take them to the highland show on the 20th - dd1 will love seeing all the animals and dd2 will just shout at everyone. so maybe mid july-ish time??

lizziemum - poor lexie's cocyx!

gill - how's ds?

knickers - glad all went well with the scan.

dd1 was bouncing on her mr bounce trampoline today and dd2 was holding on at the side bouncing up and down on her knees laughing and giggling - it was really funny. we then gave her shot with dd1 doing gentle bounces and me supporting dd2 and the grin was incredible . my neighbour said that i need to get a bigger one for dd1 and give dd2 the smaller one.

conker - how's the chickens? there was an article in the herald today about where to buy them and how to keep them etc.

hope everyone has a good weekend.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/06/2008 01:07

My2weegirls we've been thinking about getting a little trampoline for J as he holds onto things and bounces. The childminder was lovely, she seemed friendy and professional even though she had a migraine poor thing, her house was oh-my-god GORGEOUS I was from asking her to mind me!

Huge stunning house with very large play area, huge garden with loads of toys, swings slides, playhouses, ride-ons etc, cctv, security gates- it was impressive. I'll definitely be going with her if/when I find a job. I've applied for a few tonight but to say I'm apprehensive is an understatement.

I'm also a bit scared of how it works. We're running out of money fast, and I'm scared I won't have enough money to get him started at the childminders, iyswim- does anyone know when you start getting the childcare vouchers? is it instant or do you have to pay for the childminder yourself for a few weeks until they "kick in"? because I can't afford to do that. Just hoping I can afford this months council tax, nevermind anything else. So fed up of being skint!

Tasha, glad you're ok hon, give lo a squeeze from me. Would something like this help ds1 to keep his glasses on?

helibee · 07/06/2008 01:41

James, if you've had your period then you're not pregnant-as your period comes 14 days after ovulation, so if you had unprotected sex a few days before AF came you'll be safe!

Glad all went well at the childminders, she sounds lovely!!

my2weegirls-yep mid july sounds great, maybe wee could convince conker to come too! I want to take Callum over to the Luss Highland games

i'll catch up tomorrow, off to bed

tasha-good to see you back x x x

GillL · 07/06/2008 06:59

Morning all. What were you doing up so late helibee? How's your head?

Off to my sister's in Derby for the weekend this morning. I've done most of the packing. I'd forgotten how much you have to pack for babies! I've already emptied the medicine cabinet. Dh is staying at home. He doesn't like bil and he'll only be boed and miserable. He's looking forward to his boys weekend but is moaning he won't get a lay in as he's going to an air show tomorrow

Ds is so much better, still coughing though. For the first time in a week he went to sleep on his own and slept all night I really needed that for my long drive today.

Glad you liked the cm James. Her place sounds lovely. Wis my mum's garden was child friendly but she doesn't like being outdoors anyway so they wouldn't get much time out there. Not sure how the voucher system works. It didn't work out for me to get them as I pay mum very little and the first childminder I used would only take cash. Sorry to hear money is so tight.

Hi tasha. Hope you're well. Nice to have you back. Glad ds3's weight is going up.

lizziemun · 07/06/2008 07:33

Tasha

Glad to hear from you again, i hope you ok as you cen be. Good that lo is gaining weight now and he got so many teeth, ok not but [jealous] as Lexie has struggled to cut 2 teeth in the last 4/5mths .

GillL

Have a nice weekend at your sisters, your probaly have more of a rest then you get at home if your sister is anything like mine.

I hope Ds feeling better soon. Silly question but could it be hayfever which is causing his cough.

James

I'm not sure when childcare vouchers kick in. But it a catch 22 isn't you can't afford to work but can't afford not to .

And on a final note TOKENTOTTY will you pleeease come back and tell us more about your pg, thankyou .

tasha22 · 07/06/2008 21:03

my2weegirls-my lo uses me as a trampline lol we had a wee one with surround and ended up dumping it because it took up a lot of room in the gardden and they prefered their ride along toys and next doors cat used it as a scratch post

james- wow! childminder sounds a dream. do you not get a grant for starting back to work now? ill google it in a sec for ya.

gill- have a lovely weekend. good to hear your ds is getting better. they catch everything thats going dont they?

i had the strangest phone call from my ex (ds1 dad) last night. i havent spoken to or seen him in nearly 3 years although he sees ds1 as ex's mum picks him up on a saturday but he phoned and said '' mum was saying that [dp] was wanting to adoped [ds1]'' i said no ive never even considered it and he said ''well i just wanted to let you know that its ok with me'' ok so my dp is a great dad and ex is a crap father to him anyway but i still feel bad for ds1 bacause ex is just giving up. i was talkking to ex's mum today (we get on really well) but she didnt know anything about it and said shes having to keep on at ex to see him. she thinks i should stop contact as its not fair on ds1.

on a lighter note went up to my nans for a bq today and the weather was great. hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

lackaDAISYcal · 07/06/2008 21:05
