hiya knickers, my bro and sil live in Royston, we're going down to see them in july if you're around and it's not too far from you we could meet up for a coffee or something?

tasha-great news about the job interview-will be thinking of you

conker-can you send me your email again please, sorry i'm a nightmare i know. My mob no is 07967653718

lizziemum-hope you're feeling a bit better, so sorry to hear about your grandad

Callum took a few more steps today it's so lovely but at the same time i'm losing my baby and he's becomng more toddler!

Gill-i know what you mean about the sleep, Callums is bad at getting to sleep at the moment at night and for his naps! He's started whingeing more which is so incredibly unlike him, maybe where he's still a bit poorly?!

OMG knickers 22wks time flys!

well interview went well took nearly 2 hours so dp wasnt happy. the police check takes 6 wks so cant start till then. she said i had the jjob though. not sure i want it now think id rather work in a care home than all over the place IYKWIM.

got lo a new walker today and hes about 7inches away from the ground(short ass) lol

Meandmyjoe · 13/06/2008 19:28

Aww bless your lo tasha! How's his weight doing now? Hope you're OK. Congratulations on the job! At leat you have 6 weeks to make up your mind... or will they then be awkward and charge you for the police check if you decide not to take it?

Anyway, had a crappy day today. Joseph has been a whingey, grumpy, tantrum throwing little sod today . I wonder if his teeth are troubling him again as he woke up in the night too. DH was on nights and I was too tired so just put him in bed with me.

Ahh well, blimey knickers your pg seems to be going soooo fast. Mine seemed to last years!

Right off to eat!

loler · 13/06/2008 23:28

conker - I'm still Bfing and have found that I'm leaking a bit too. Think it's as some days he'll take loads and others he only has a feed before bed. body obviously doesn't know what's happenong !

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 14/06/2008 13:12

Lizzie, sorry to hear about your grandad, sending positive vibes your way.

Tasha, well done on getting the job, whether you choose to take it or not! Must be a boost to your confidence either way.

Knickers, glad it's going quickly for you! I felt like I was pregnant for years, and I only knew for 6 or 7 months. Have you got everything you need? I suppose with it being so quick you haven't got rid of anything yet! lol @ little knickers copying you! James copies waving, smacking things, and is starting to copy barking noises when we read a book with dogs in.

Joe, they all have days like that, I hate it. It probably is teething. James has two teeth, the rest of his gums feel fairly soft, but he often has teething symptoms so I don't know what's going on.

Littleboyblue has he managed to pull himself up to standing yet?

Pink, glad you enjoyed your holiday, did you get a tan? I'm still sunburnt, peeling now, it looks delightful.

helibee how's callum feeling now? and how are you? hope your migraines are easing off.

loler, congrats on all the babies! Bet you're feeling really broody now!

Gill, still no teeth? Sorry Alex is hating bedtime, James hates having his teeth brushed, and I don't know how to do it without making him hate it even more. I've got terrible teeth because I hated brushing them as a child, it'd be just my luck if he's inherited that trait from me.

Conker, how was the house viewing? I haven't breastfed for 6 months but I noticed in the shower that I still have milk even now? only a drop but still, I was quite weirded out, why's it still there? when does it stop?

Hope everyone's doing ok anyway x

James

Have you tried these silcone toothbrush rather then a toothbrush.

They scan Granddad on friday and we should know on monday.

Meandmyjoe · 14/06/2008 18:56

I second the silicone toothbrush idea. i have one for joe and he loves it. He's a bit wierd though and actually enjoys having his teeth brushed . Have you tried just giving him a baby toothbrush to hold and explore, he may start chewing and chomping on it which is a good start and gets him used to it.

Hope all goes well with your Grandad's scan Lizzie.

Glad I'm not the only one with milky boobs! I stopped breastfeeding around 7 months ago but last month noticed they were STILL producing milk. Only a teeny, tiny bit but I thought it would have stopped by then. It seems to have gone now though so not sure how long it takes really.

Anyway, I've had a lovely day out trying on bridesmaid dresses with my bestfriend for her wedding. It was so much fun being all girly for a change! The last time I had a dress on was 2 years ago at my wedding! It was fun and dh had a nice day with Joseph and had some time alone with him which doesn't happen often (in fact it's only the third time I've been anywhere without Joseph since he was born )

Hope you're all OK, think I'm off for an early night soon cos I'm completely knackered!

My2Weegirls · 14/06/2008 20:18

hey all

knickers - 22 weeks already! time is flying by.

lizzie - what type of scan was it? hope he's doing ok?

james - those toothbrushes are ok as long as your lo (or not so lo in my case) doesn't bite! dd2 likes nothing more than to grab my hand and chomp down hard on any finger she can get. i think it's more the reaction that she likes as she then kills herslef laughing .

her latest trick - is to show me whatever she's holding - as if she's going to pass it over, but if i try and take she pulls it away laughing .

meandmyjoe - glad you enjoyed you time - make sure you don't leave it so long for your next lot of 'me time'!

tasha - well done on getting the job! very pleased for you. hope you had a wee glass of wine to celebrate

helibee - callums doing really well with his walking.

i think dd2 has a molar coming through soon - i think i can see 4 round raised bits, the top bits of the tooth when i get her to say aaaaah.

she's starting to do all the copying too - she can make her tongue go clip clop like a horse's hooves, if you make a kiss sound she does it back (though when she's giving kisses she opens her mouth and stick her tongue out - lovely .

lizziemun · 14/06/2008 21:00

It is a full body scan. But mainly centred around his stomach, liver, kidney and prostrate.

On a brighter note Lexie is trying to walk. She keep balancing and then seeing something she wants reaches for it and then falling flat on her face and laughing because she forgets to move her feet .

Oh and she had her 8mth check at 9mth last week she passed, and they have also helped me with Lizzie and are going to ask the SALT team to ring me about her speach. As she is getting frustrated when we can not understand her. She has trouble pronauncing (sp) the harder sounds. So hopefully i can some advice on how to help.

And at 9mths dh has changed his first nappy for Lexie and she poo'd all over him .

This time next week we will holiday in Devon and DH will see how hard it is looking after 2 children .

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 15/06/2008 15:31

How are you doing today, Lizzie?

Just bought one of those silicone toothbrushes off ebay thanks for the recommendations folks!

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend! x

lizziemun · 15/06/2008 20:13

I'm much better James just playing wait and see IYKWIM.

Although i have a very busy week as i have to clean and tidy the house from top to bottom, change all the beds get the washing and ironing up to date. Friday I have to Lizzie to her new 'big' school . Then i have to pack for our holiday next saturday along with all sorting all the bits for to take for the kids .

So when we get back the house is tidy as i can not stand coming home to a mess. But at least it well keep my mind busy and not thinking/stewing to much on grandad.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 15/06/2008 22:54

Yeah sometimes it's best to stay busy. Where are you off on holiday? You probably told us already somewhere on the thread but I'm too tired to search. Aaw I love seeing tiny kiddies in their brand new school uniforms, I'm sure she'll love it!

Well, who spoilt their oh's today then? My dp guessed what his bloody present was last night (the snapfish cup thingy) so I thought I'd surprise him with a lovely cooked breakfast or maybe pancakes in the shape of the letters D A D - had all these lovely ideas but he got up before me and decided to watch the Scrapheap Challenge marathon all morning! Anyway I ended up buying him some whisky and a cigar so he was happy.

lizziemun · 15/06/2008 23:01

Were going here. Only for a week, but it will be nice. DH cousin works there and we haven't seen her for 18mths so that a be nice.

Let DH have a lie in and got him some Whisky. But Lizzie took a picture she drew upto him a 7am as they don't make father day cards at pre-school.

dh didnt get a lie in but thats cause we were at my grandparents in the Borders and had to get back to Glasgow for Dh's job by 9am, so not my fault.

Ds gave him a CD he wanted by BareNaked Ladies - dont know if anyone else is a fan but they brought out a CD for children cause they reckon there are more children of band members now than band members themselves.

dh and i got a trip to the cinema yesterday while purplerabbit looked after ds. was great - went to see Sex and the City but was fun just sitting still for 2 hours and knowing we didnt have to jump up and deal with a crying baby at any time. couldnt believe the cost though. £16.25 for the two of us . I remember when it was £4 for a ticket or less for students, and that was only a few years ago.

hope that your grandad gets good results lizzimum and that you have a lovely holiday - would love to plan something but need to know if we are moving first.

will catch up on other posts later.

Hersetta · 16/06/2008 12:56

Hello all.

We're back from hols. We had a great time - especially Caitlin. She absolutely loved the beach although she did try to eat most of it! She loved people watching and her aim of the entire holiday was to stare at people until them smiled at her and then would beem back at them. On our last night two people from the pub we went in every night gave her a fluffy toy which was very nice of them. I'll try to upload a couple of pics later on.

Am running on fuel today as our flight was delayed last night so didn't get home until 10.45 and crawled into bed at 12.30. Up again at 6.15 and last night Caitlin decided to call for her dummy 4 times despite sleeping beautifully on holiday so am cream crackered now. She done this when we've gone away before and usually it only lasts a couple of days so hopefully she'll be back to sleeping through in a day or so.

She grew another tooth on holiday - her 4th and again it's another bottom one. Tops ones are close but no sign of them breaking through yet. Well done to all the standing and walking babies - Caitlin still hasn't mastered crawling. She gets up easily onto all fours, rocks back and forth a lot and then moves her hands forward. However she hasn't yet learnt to bring her knees forward as well so when her hands get too far in front of her she just collapses onto her tummy and gets very frustrated.

Have spent the morning sifting through my emails (and reading Mumsnet!) and now have to get on and do something proper. Chat later.

Hersetta · 16/06/2008 13:20

I've uploaded a few pics to my profile page if you want to peak at them.

tasha22 · 16/06/2008 14:01

hey havent got time to post but im sorting the house here and came across a book one of you might want, ill post for free as would rather it went to someone than dumping it. 40,001 best baby names. back later

tasha22 · 16/06/2008 14:22

oh and the baby whisperer free to good home

conkertree · 16/06/2008 15:00

i'd like to read the baby whisperer if its going spare please tasha. given how bad a sleeper ds is, i'll try most things once.

hersetta - glad you enjoyed your holiday - teeth are funny things - the top ones seems to change their face more than the bottom ones i think - makes them seem more grown up.

waiting to hear whether our offer on a house is being accepted so am very nervous - not really expecting it to be, but if not, we'll have to walk away from this one and find something else as cant go any higher.

tasha22 · 16/06/2008 15:50

k. email me your address and ill post it tomorrow. [email protected]

Meandmyjoe · 16/06/2008 15:57

Good luck with the house conker, it's such a nerve wracking time. We sold our old house last year and we ended up buying this one and moving when Joseph was 6 weeks old! Total nightmare as he was a terribly unsettled newborn and I couldn't put him down! Hope it all goes much smoother for you.

I have the baby whisperer book too but found it didn't really work for us. DS has always been great at night except for when teething but I could never get the naps timed right and he only used to nap for 30 mins at a time which threw the rest of the routine out the window. It's only since he can crawl that he naps really, really well. Really good book though, Joe was just awkward and didn't fit with any of her personality descriptions listed.

Pleased to report that now he is fully mobile he is soooooo much happier. Has barely whinged all day except for nappy changes .

Hersetta, glad you all enjoyed the holiday. Hope Caitlin's sleep settles down again soon!

Anyway, had a lovely relaxing weekend. DH loved his mug from Joseph so thanks again for the link James. I can't believe your dp guessed what you'd got him. How the hell did he guess??

Anyway, better go.

Take care all. x

My2Weegirls · 16/06/2008 20:16

hersetta - she's gorgeous and so grown up looking. i love the photo with the hat on (the one on the grass)

lizziemum - how did the results go?

conker - fingers crossed about the offer. have you sold yours? i think the last time i saw a film at the pictures was 'lost in translation' at the cameo in edinburgh - so that must have been about 4 years ago. of the 2 hour sit down you got

i've also got one of the baby whisperer books that i don't use - baby whisperer solves all your problems - if anyone wants it?

dd2 has 4 new bumps and bruises and ascratches. all from 1.5hours at a non baby prrof house yesterday - and they are all on her face.

meandmyjoe - glad joe's back to being a happy baby for you

my childminder is on 3 weeks holiday just now - 2 of the other cm's are looking after both dds. so as well as trying to get organised to get out in the mornings this week i've got 2 drop offs to do (and 2 pick ups at night). i was a bit worried if dd2 would be ok going to someone different however, when i dropped her off - she was off crawling away from me and i had to go and find her to give her a kiss. cm said the only time she cried was when the strawberries were finished .

well i'm of the search the website of the holiday house we've got next week to see what i need to start packing....can't wait for my hols
