New thread!

conkertree · 11/06/2008 12:57

and yes tt came on and told us she was pg but havent really heard from her since - we are all waiting to hear more about it. saw her name on an ante natal thread though - cant remember if it was due in december or january.

loler · 11/06/2008 13:01

Still not heard - she's been on the delivery ward since 2pm yesterday.

Am very pleased for TT. Hope she lets everyone know the details!

Really enjoying my family at the moment - spend lots of time outside and am loving the summer!

How are the kilts going?

conkertree · 11/06/2008 14:34

great - sounds like things are going well - we're loving the summer too as we got chickens and ds loves watching them when we let them roam around the garden - think they will need protection when he's up on his feet though.

kilts are going slowly but steadily - ds used to go to sleep at 7pm every night but is getting a bit later and less predictable despite keeping bedtime routines going, so am getting less chance to work on them in the evenings, but getting there and am not in a great rush to have the whole business up and running, at least till we have a second dc.

conkertree · 11/06/2008 14:34

great about enjoying the family - not your dsis - hope she has it very soon.

helibee · 11/06/2008 14:56

hiya, Callum has been running a fever of 39.5 - 40.2 since sun night, thank goodness he's over the worst now as it was clingy amplified by a zillion!!!

James-Callum loves garlic bread and garlic chicken kievs which was all i ate in pregnancy (although i'm surprised he got the taste of anything as i never kept ANYTHING down foe the whole 9 months ). Sorry about your work James, thats frustrating about the money.

conker-Callum eats big people pasta too, he's never been fussed by baby sized food!!! we were talking about meeting up in July some time-do you work on a fri?

littleboyblue-Callum eats the sofa all the time, you can always tell where he's been as there are slobbery patches on the arms of all the sofas where he walks along and has a quick chew on the way

tasha-my brother lives near sheffield and we go and see them quite a lot (actually knickers i think they live right near you)

loler · 11/06/2008 17:05

She finally had Emilia Rose at 1ish. Had a call from good friends DH to say she was in hospital having their baby just after. Not sure I can take the stress.

Plus DS1 has chosen today to decide to not wear nappies. Have spent all day mopping up puddles!

H - glad to see he's on the mend - just like all at this age put it down to teething!

morning folks. how are you today lizziemum? feeling any happier?

congrats to your sister loler - agree thats it a lovely name. are you going to see her today? always amazes me how much ours have grown when you see new borns. they are so teeny.

hope callum is feeling better helibee - mmm garlic bread - must try ds on that cause i certianly ate lots of garlic when pregnant. come to think of it, he does really like mushrooms and i put them in everything except possibly ice cream so it might be to do with eating in pregnancy.

conkertree · 12/06/2008 09:31

sorry pink keep forgetting to say hello - your holiday sounds great. i love it when people really want to get involved with your baby and play with them. gives you a chance to sip something tasty too.

i love how having a baby makes you more approachable to others as well - was in a shopping centre on tues and we spoke to loads of people at lunchtime on one of the benches cause of ds - sure if i'd been there myself, not one person would have spoken.

GillL · 12/06/2008 09:44

Morning all. I'm baby free today. Having a nice day at home with dd. We might go swimming.

Went out shopping with mum yesterday and to waste some time we went in a charity shop to look at kids clothes. I came across some Grobags for £1 each and they were good as new! I couldn't believe they were selling them so cheap. Ds won't care that they're pink with butterflies

Hi loler. Good to hear from you. What were you saying about the summer

Glad Callum is over the worst of his temp helibee. Ds had a high temp two weekends in a row. Still no sign of teeth though Is Alex going to be the last one to get a tooth?

Ds really hates bed time now. He starts crying as soon as I open the bedroom door. Last night he got himself into a right state after I left the room. I remember this was about the time we started having trouble with dd's sleep. We're not going to let him get us into the same situation though (sitting with him til he falls asleep). Anyone else's dc doing the same thing?

GillL · 12/06/2008 09:47

Sorry I meant to say I'm glad you had a good holiday pink.

Conker - ds always attracts a lot of attention when we're out. I put it down to his winning smile. He's always staring and grinning at people.

lizziemun · 12/06/2008 10:01

Sorry to post and run last night. I'm a little bit better but still tearful.

Mum rang last night to say my grandad has been taken back into hospital.

In the last month he has been in hospital for a week on IV AB's then he was sent home, then after a week his doctor and social services then transferred him to a respite care and they have concerns as he is a sleep for 20 hours and day and has yet another infection and it touch and go as they don't know what is wrong with him they have sent him back to hospital.

Anyway enough of my woo's.

conkertree · 12/06/2008 14:13

sorry to hear about your grandad lizziemum - are you able to go and visit him? its especially horrible not knowing what's going on.

seems very quiet here today - i am very bored at work. had a little browse of some other threads but nothing i can get involved in much - interested in the fostering threads but not for a few years till we've had all our own children.

very very bored. want to be at home with ds . ah well - dh and I both off with him tomorrow so a run, swim, look at a house then go to my grandparents. all my family is going so should be good.

conkertree · 12/06/2008 14:17

gill - ds has never been great at sleeping partly cause he is so itchy all the time, but with new creams its getting better. he definately seems to be getting worse at settling himself at the start of the night though.

used to be easy to put him down at 7 and you were almost guaranteed three hours before the next wake up but last night it took 40 mins to settle him. trying to just sing to him and keep his hands away from his face to stop him scratching and it does eventually work, but am hoping he learns to do it quicker before too long.

tasha22 · 12/06/2008 14:43

lizzie- sorry to hear about your grandad. hopefully they figure out whats wrong.

conker i was thinking of fostering when i only had ds1 but thought id leave it for a few years too but think ill wait till all mine have left home now lol.

well no talkting or babbling much here yet. i was trying to teach lo to say hiya and he does the mouth movement but no word yet. actually all your lo's sound like my ds2 lol.

loler- great news about your sis and congrats on you being an Aunt. hows mum and baby doing?

well looks like ill have plenty of friens if and when i go to sheffield

and OMG i have a job interview tomorrow!! i havent worked in over 4 years!

sorry if i missed anyone out im a bit rushed here back later xx

conkertree · 12/06/2008 14:53

hi tasha - good luck with the interview - whats the job? look forward to hearing how you get on.

again sorry to hog the boards today and i realise that everyone else is too busy to post that much, but as i said before i am boooorrreedd so spending far too much time thinking about new babies and getting clucky.

have resorted to spying on the antenatal threads for a bit of interest - ah remember the days when we were all just about start maternity leave etc etc.

just wondered whether anyone else was still bfeeding and if so, whether you are still leaking? i stopped wearing breast pads a few months ago as the flow seemed to be regulated and i never leaked but just in the last few weeks, i've started leaking again - dont know why.

lizziemun · 12/06/2008 14:57

Conker

Unfortunley i have no way of seeing him untill the weekend as i have no car and DH has to go in to work hopefully he won't be struck in traffic like all week(not been home before 7.30pm bl**dy drivers on the M1).

We think that he has just had enough (he is 85 next week). He had a stroke 12yrs ago and is paralsised domn his left side and he misses my nana who died 3yrs ago.

Tasha

Good luck tomorrow with your interveiw.

My2Weegirls · 12/06/2008 15:27

Hi all
I?m waiting on people turning up for a meeting and didn?t want to start anything new) so may have to stop half way through this post? will come back later though.

Lizzie ? sorry to hear about your granddad ? at least he?s in the right place to get any medical care that he might need.

Conker ? how are all the chickens and the eggs?

Tasha ? fingers crossed for tomorrow. What?s the job?

oh - they've turned up at reception, someones away to get ehm for me - be back later...

tasha22 · 12/06/2008 19:43

the job hasnt got any waw factor or anything. its a care assistant, i have experience as thats what i was doing before i fell pg with ds1 plus im doing my health and social care course. it will look good when i apply for uni. bit worried about how the boys will take it as ds2+3 are never away from me and ds2 is a very clingy mummies boy who has recently started acting like a baby by crawling and climbing up my leg to stand.

conker hope your home and not bored anymore

My2Weegirls · 12/06/2008 19:59

tasha - care assistant is a good job, and worthwhile to the people you're helping so it does have a wow factor . my dd1 is doing the baby acting too - think she see's what happens when dd2 does things and thinks that will happen to her e.g. cry, get picked up and cuddled etc.

conker - enjoy your day tomorrow with dh and ds. did you put an offer in on a house (or am i making that up?)

helibee - i could maybe do a monday as well (might be easier if i just have DD2 with me depending where we meet etc - dd1 could go to the childminder). hope you are feeling better.

james - that clip is brilliant - once i said thank goodness i didn't have quadrulpets or twins - how the hell do these women cope!?

gill - a pound for growbags - i must go trawl the charity shops - that's brilliant!

Meandmyjoe · 12/06/2008 21:22

Congrats to you and your sis loler. Hope mummy and baby are well.

Tasha, good news about the job interview. How's ds3 doing now?

Lizzie- hope you are doing OK.

Gill, how was your baby free day? Hope your ds is settling better at night. Joseph went through a phase last month of screaming at bedtime. I'm afraid I couldn't leave him and just held his hand until he dozed off. It lasted about a month and also coinsided with lots of night wakings. I really think it was just separation anxiety and teething. He seems fine again now and sleeps through again. He still screams at nap time though so have to rock him or feed him to sleep in the day but not at night . Think he's frightened he may miss something interesting!

Anyway, hope you are all well. We are also loving summer and Joe loves being out in the garden.

He has started pulling up on furniture all the time now and even lets go and stands there looking rather proud of himself, til he plops back down on his bottom. I think he'll be a lot happier when he can walk and talk. He never shuts up babbling/ shouting/ grunting/ screeching! He is VERY LOUD!

Anyway, off to enjoy a rather nice looking glass of wine
