Ow - hope your boobs get better soon Princess. I know what you mean about not being able to pick up DCs when they're so engorged. Give yourself a pat on the bacl for keeping it going for so long and REALLY hope that you get a good rest tomorrow and plenty of chocolate, wine, cheese, whatever!

beansprout · 24/05/2008 12:04

Gill, how is Malcolm today?

leesmum · 24/05/2008 20:54

Hi everyone

Sarah, Rosie is just beautiful and looks very contented, how has Harry been with her? And i thought my twin and i were alike! your sister is the spit of you. Glad your job is going ok and it's not disrupting things at home too much.

Egg your two are beautiful also, your DD appears to look like your DS1, am i right? How is your DD's feeding going? you have my sympathies it must be very frustrating for you at times. If its any consolation when me and sis were born she was 1lb bigger than me but on all baby pictures i looked HUGE next to her, and mum said that whilst i fed well my sis always messed about, and she was fed up with peoples comments about how different we were in size.xx

Beany my Ds1 is also being very testing at the moment, sometimes i wonder if we have spoilt him a bit too much At least he is caring and loving towards his brother (for the time being)

Yes Giles Brandreth is a prick! And where was your hubby in Manchester? He could have popped in for a brew and babysat for a couple of hours

Gill how is malcolm now? And yes like a few others my Ds1 also rolled off the bed and ended up with an egg sized bump don't worry about it they're stronger than you think. Wow thats fab that you're getting 12 hour stretches well done!! and enjoy your wine xx

Princess how are your ()() today? I hope you get a well deserved rest. The way you have perservered with BF has been amazing, i'm sure you must be a bit relieved to be getting some answers. Take care xxx

Rozzy you really do have your hand full, but you seem very organised, i suppose you have to be with 3 lads!

Haylstones, wow teeth already! Nice to hear from you again. xx

I am watching eurovision at the moment but i'm putting the boxing on in a bit, i'm not paying for it, we get free sport from a website called "My P2P" all you have to do is download sopcast and you get all the pay-per view stuff for free! Sometimes the picture isn't 100% but what do you want for nowt???

leesmum · 24/05/2008 20:58

Here's the website if anyone's interested www.myp2p.eu/

cosima · 24/05/2008 21:06

hi everybody. Princess Llama - you poor thing, that all sounds terrible. hope things get better.

Rozzy - teething? I think mine might be aswell, although isn't it a bit early?

Tyaca - where are you moving to?

My lo has had diarrhea for two weeks, but he doesn't seem to mind.

GOD, just looked up from my computer to see those pirates on Eurovision. Fascinating!!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 24/05/2008 21:32

Hi eveyone- PL sorry you have had a rough time- enjoy your chocolate and sleep you desrve it !!!xxxx

Leesmum- Rosie is gorge-but then i am biast!!lol Harry has been great with her, really loves to sing to her- sometimes he is like a performing monkey jigging around and singing his heart out(his fave song at the minute is Hey Mickeyits been on in the car and he knows it word for word!!!)she giggles at him- its so cute to see i must get it on video camera!!!! He loves to help- obviously when the tv is not on though but i must admit on the whole he is fab!!! DD is very laid back and its a good thing i must admit!!

My Sis Emily Is known to Harry as Auntie ED as her initials are ED heehee=we made a joke once and it stuck- we get lots of funny looks when out shopping and harry calls Auntie Ed as they must think she is a man!!!! and yes we are so alike she was 20 yesterday and the baby of the family xxx

EGG How are you today? Has Rebecca fed any more for you and DH?

Hi to everyone else, hope all well,

OP posts:
beansprout · 24/05/2008 21:34

I sing "Hey Mickey" a lot to ds2, except I change it to "Hey Titchy" as that's what we call him.

Thanks for letting me share.

tyaca · 25/05/2008 23:09

evening all. watching this week's apprentice for the third time this week. and as ever working out just how i would do the task! obvs loads better than these muppets.

princess, i hope you;ve had a good block of rest. bring on the dairy binges, and the attentive care of your dh ... reckon he;ll have a good couple of years of work-related celebrations ahead, so best for him not to blow all his passes from you in one go

leesmum - i had to laugh at your use of angry face emoticions when talking norks. tempted to hang around the feeding threads just to use it myself...

cosima - nice to hear from you. we're moving to south croydon or as i like to call it... the surrey//kent borders . moving into my DH's school. really excited about it - a sentiment which would have shocked a pre-dd me

we were at the school today for a muslim christening. really nice, funny to be at one of these kind of events and be one of the people with kids .... and also to suddenley realise all the others with kids arent that old - dammit i think they may even be my peers!

cause of the do, for the second day in a row dd really lost out on sleep cause of stuff we were doing in the day. and for the second day in a row, we've had a really bad couple of hours trying to get her to sleep. feel a bit tougher to it, as know she;s just insanely tired and that cuddling, calming, etc doesnt work and she has to GO TO SLEEP. and that means we have to sit the tears out. i guess you guys prob know all this stuff already but leavung her for twenty min felt hard but good when she finally slept. dont know how she'll do tonight, but last night she was so tired she slept for 12 hours... am crossing both fingers and toes ...

leesmum · 26/05/2008 13:44

Is everyone enjoying their Bank Holiday?

Beany your little man is gorgeous, who's he like?

I keep meaning to put more pics on my profile but everything seems to take forever to get done in our house at the moment.

Well my hard work has paid off...i have lost 3 pounds!!! i suppose that makes up for no loss in the previous weeks. The money that Dp gave me is burning a hole in my pocket as i am desperate for some new clothes but dont want to get any yet while i'm still losing weight.

Tyaca it sounds like you had a nice day yesterday, and it's lovely when you start going out as a "family" isn't it?

Princess how are you? xxx

Hi everyone. Unfortunately dh doesn't get public holidays so is working today. Nursery still open though and mum on a day off so she came round for a few hours which helped. Just as well as ds1 and ds2 are being little s**ts at the moment and are driving me mad! On the plus side ds3 is back to only being up once in the night again.

I've lost 2lbs this week so I've updated my details. Still not really watching what I'm eating but I have done 24 miles on the treadmill this week so that at least seems to be doing the trick.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunny day - ds1 and ds2 came home filthy from nursery after playing in the digging pit and have just spent a long time washing their toys in the now redundant baby bath in the back garden - I've threatened to hose them down before putting them in the bath tonight but they're not keen.

Egg · 26/05/2008 16:13

Hello all sorry not been around for a couple of days. Things have improved since we switched DD back to Aptamil, although she only seems to be ok on cartons which is proving very expensive, but we are just pleased she is eating! DS2 being a PITA mind you, but hey...

Thanks everyone for worrying about us. Princess how are you doing now? I also wondered about reflux and / or intolerance but as she seems ok again now (still eats a lot less than DS2 but don't mind as long as she is eating..) I figure she has just been going through a bad patch. I really hope you are feeling a bit better now, you somehow seem to sound like you are coping despite everything that is sent to try you.

DS1 threw up in his bed last night . Poor lad. I heard him cry really briefly but he went back to sleep so I never went in, and when he got up at 8am he said "sick here" and pointed at his bed. It was everywhere. All over his toys, his Blankie and in his hair...

Weigh in this morning was v successful. I REACHED MY TARGET WEIGHT, and in fact am 1lb lighter than the target. Don't think it is permanent tho as I have rediscovered chocolate as of yesterday and now keep eating it again (had been very good at giving it up for a while).

Rozzy am and that your nursery is open on bank holiday Monday. As the DTs only go one day a week I am bit gutted that we are missing a lot of Mondays at the mo but still paying a bloody fortune for them.

Jays, keep meaning to ask (and maybe I already did) but what buggy do you have?

Beany, Titch is gorgeous, so nice to finally see him. And now you need a pic of you, and a pic of DS1. I sometimes also have days where I am real cow to poor DS1, I am trying so so hard not to be as I know it makes him behave worse, and turns into a viscious circle, but when I have had little sleep and am struggling with the horror twins, it is easy to snap at him for a minor misdemeanour! His favourite "games" at the moment are throwing balls around and jumping on the sofa, both of which are a bit dangerous but he loves them... Oh, and he has turned into a tennis ball thief. Every time we walk past the tennis courts which are a couple of mins from our house he legs it and nabs a ball (he always manages to find one that has come under or over the fence). We now have 9 tennis balls . I keep telling him not to but he is very persistent. Must return them one day soon!

Egg · 26/05/2008 16:14

Rozzy???????????? Did you say it is sunny with you???? It has rained continuously and persistently all day (and all night) here. Absolutely p**sing down.

rozzyraspberry · 26/05/2008 16:19

Egg - it's been lovely here for days!! So not like scottish weather! The nursery my boys go to is a pre-school free nursery. It's open all of this week but closed next Monday for some strange local holiday. Bank holidays are a bit strange up here - lots of local holidays taken instead of the national ones. Glad your dd is eating a bit better. I suppose it makes sense that she would be eating less than her brother as she's so much smaller. Well done for reaching your target weight.

Beany - just seen the piccy of ds2 - he's lovely!

Bessie123 · 26/05/2008 21:14

Hi all. You've posted so much - I must come onto this site more often so I can keep up properly.

Tyaca - I let dd sleep whenever she wants, for as long as she wants, and I never wake her unless I have to (eg if we have to go out). I don't know if this is helpful for you, but my routine is:
give her a bath at about 6.30-ish then feed her with the same music playing every night and then put her to bed. I put her in her cot before she is actually asleep, so she gets used to settling herself. Between 11 and 12 I give her a dream feed of formula because it's heavier than breast milk and I want her to sleep as long as poss and then she usually wakes up between 5 and 6 am. I have noticed that if dd sleeps quite a lot during the day, she often sleeps better at night. Or perhaps I'm imagining it.

Oh, and dd only started sleeping through after we put her in her own room at night. She always woke up at about 3.00am before that.

I've managed to put on 2lbs - how did that happen??? I have just joined a gym though, so if I can ever find anyone to look after dd during the day, I could try to burn off all the lbs and lbs of baby fat.

Catch you all soon. xx

Bessie123 · 26/05/2008 21:15

Egg - good to hear dd is starting to eat again

beansprout · 27/05/2008 07:38

Yawn - ds2 was up 4 times last night. Am knackered and dh is off to Scotland for the day so I am doing both ends of the day by myself. Groan. Am supposed to be meeting some friends from work for lunch but my ego doesn't want to turn up looking like poo on a stick.

Egg- sorry to hear about ds1. Is he ok now? Ds1 has done that too. Not sure if their capacity to sleep in their own vomit is really stoic or just gross!! And well done on reaching your target weight!!

I have also lost a flukey pound so am v happy with that. Have revised my target weight to what I originally wanted it to be, but didn't think I could do!

Rozzy - am impressed with all those miles on the treadmill!!

Leesmum - would like to claim credit for ds2 but general consensus is that both boys look like dh. Am reliably informed that boys tend to look like their mums as they get older!

Egg · 27/05/2008 07:49

Yawn also...I am with you Beany .

DS1 threw up again at 10:30pm. Took over an hour to get him back to bed by the time we got Blankie washed and DS1 bathed. Then I couldn't sleep for worrying he would be sick again and we had run out of bedcovers.

Finally dropped off when DS1 suddenly starting coughing lots at 12:3am so thought he had been sick again and went to check him. He hadn't but then lay awake again for ages.

Finally dropped off when DH's mobile rang at 1:30am (he was on call and had to do 10 mins on computer from home).

Then DD woke up wanting to feed at 2:30am (she normally makes it to 4am). Fed her, got her back to bed by about 3am.

Then DS1 woke up crying at 4am. Went in, he had lost his Blankie (it was about 2cm from him). Settled him back to sleep.

Then DS2 woke up at 4:45am wanting to feed (he normally makes it to 5:30/6am). Got him settled back in the cot by 5:30am.

Then DD woke at 6:25am wanting to feed again. Whilst I am pleased she is feeding, this did not please me. Normally would not feed again til much later. Fed her, got back to bed about 6:50am.

DS2 woke up at 7am ready to start the day. Whooping and shouting. When I finally gave in and went to look at him he was grinning from ear to ear and I couldn't find it in my heart to be cross, but I am BLOODY TIRED.

Oh, DH left for work at 6:30am. He wont be back now til after all three DCs go to bed. Although thankfully he has not gone to Scotland.

And my sister and three children are due to come today for two nights.

Have made a bucket of coffee.

beansprout · 27/05/2008 09:35

Oh Egg, that just sounds like a form of torture tbh. I really feel for you. Is your sister more of a help or a hinderance? I find that some people create twice the work as I am doing my usual, plus running a catering service but others (my lovely parents) just muck in and it's easy to have them here. Either way - buckets of coffee all round!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 27/05/2008 10:02

oh Egg and beany sorry you have both had long nights, i hope you mangage to keep going all day witht he coffee!!!!!

We are all ok- glad its stopped raining finally it was awful here yesterday!!!!

Oh and DH was offered a job on Saturday- Woohoo!!! Its £1-50 more an hour and he will be his own boss setting up the servicing etc as at the mo they have a self employed guy who they pay to do the work but have decided they need it all done in house now- he is so excited he is like at child at xmas!!!!! (he is also very smug as this is the job his manager did in his last one!!!!!)

We are just waitning for them to tell the guy who does the work then we can have start dates etc- its a huge relief!!!!

Off to play at brewsters today with some friends, so will catch up later- unless i get the chance before we leave!!!

OP posts:
Egg · 27/05/2008 10:59

Yay that's great news Sarah. Well done to your DH for finding something so quickly.

DS1 threw up again when he had his milk and is being quite high maintenance but think he is ok. Am not feeling too bad. Beany my sis is more of a help than a hindrance. She will probably cook tonight or at least do part of it, and sometimes feeds a baby. The main help though is that DS1's cousins ADORE him and he idolises them, so he will be happy. If he is well enough she will take all four children to the park / swings and I can stay here with the babies.
