Now paint your face blue, and stick your tongue out at the world - end especially the half-wit-mid-life-crisis-lacking-common-sense-PMT-suffering-eejits we otherwise call men.

eandh, ratbunny, susie, UD - this one's for you

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ladytophamhatt · 10/06/2008 13:38

Dhart, we have a Harry James, Lewis Henry, James Finley and then George Frasier.

Boys names are really hard to choose IMO.

laughalot · 10/06/2008 14:05

Lth I so love all those names

SmoothandWilkie · 10/06/2008 17:53

DH - I LOVE the names Seth and Leo (not biblical but still gorgeous IMO)

Lizz - am so jealous you've been away - tell us about your hols

Where'd Shimmer go?

C'mon people - we need to get VINO's sweepstake off the ground. £2 to enter, guess the weight, nearest one wins all the other £2's.

THE GREAT BABY VINO SWEEPSTAKE
Wilkie 8lb 3oz
EandH 8lb 8oz
Laughalot 7lb 10oz
LTH 8lb 11oz

SmoothandWilkie · 10/06/2008 17:54

Oh and J been puking all day he has just slept and puked. Poor baby

theSuburbanDryad · 10/06/2008 18:17

Poor J, Wilkie. Has he picked up a bug from somewhere? There was a D&V bug going round Z's nursery and I think Z was the only one who didn't pick it up (didn't stop them from phoning me and getting me to pick him up though and miss an afternoon of work! grr)

LTH - boy's names are difficult to choose. I bet you were cursing the fact that you gave ds1 two names, cause it meant you had to give all the others 2 names as well!

I love Seth as well - i think it is biblical in origin isn't it?

theSuburbanDryad · 10/06/2008 18:20

Oh yes, and I wanted to ask you lot about this, although maybe i'll post it in the nursery section as well.

But whenever I get Z home from nursery he heads straight for his cup of juice (that's been lying there all day ) and necks most of it! He used to come in and want to nurse straight away, which i put down to wanting a cuddle more than anything else, but now i'm wondering if he's very thirsty and whether he's getting enough to drink at nursery? Do you think I should mention it to them on Friday or would I come across as being hostile - given that i've already complained about him having a dirty nappy for too long and giving him bum rash! They probably hate me already - I'm the complaining PITA mum!!

Dragonhart · 10/06/2008 19:11

LTH- I love George and Henry. DH vetoed Henry but I htink maybe I could work on him for George. I do like Leo too Wilkie but I think mostly because of having a lecturer at Uni who I fancied was was really good!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. TBH, I feel so big that I am beginning to think that I wont make it to Aug. Or if I do my entire stomach will be an network of stretch marks that have got bigger every time!

Luke's first day at preschool went well, I think. When we got there, he ran off to play with a castle with men then breifly said goodbye to me. Went home and had a good time with Ruth. Realised just how little attention she gets really. Poor second born, I know that feeling well! Then when I picked him up, they said that he only cried when they had to put all the toys away . Mind you when we got home he said that he looked everywhere for me and couldnt find me and felt sad afew times so hopefully tom will be ok too. Think he really enjoyed the morning tho.

How are we paying you Wilkie? Paypal? If so is it your normal email address?

Dragonhart · 10/06/2008 19:12

Oh and Urban, I would say something about it. Wont do any harm. Mind you Ruth always drinks more at home than when we are out.

wonderwomanakaeandh · 10/06/2008 19:27

DH - glad preschool went well (sorry meant to wish you luck this morning but didnt remember )

UD - I'd mention it

Wilkie - poor J and what is your pp addy? ANy update on house move?

Ellie being a pita tonight, put H to bed at 6 and she went straight down, E wanted to go up at 6.15 then decided at 7 to throw a huge tantrum and wake H up, H back asleep and E crying in her room because shes been told off

Dragonhart · 10/06/2008 19:49

Wilkie- Sorry, I missed your post. Hope he is feeling a little better now.

Shimmer · 10/06/2008 20:02

UD Freddie's always REALLY thirsty after nursery as well. I reckon he probably doesn't have as much to drink there as at home, but I know he at least drinks with meals, so he's probably alright. No harm saying something though, if you feel if might help.

I like the name Leo too DH. Or Henry. Freddie was almost Gabriel, which I love too. I can't imagine F being called Gabriel now.... how funny, i reckon even at this age he would have been completely different if we'd called him that... is that silly?

So I am now completely obsessed with engagement rings. I haven't got one yet. DP didn't propose with one, which was kind of dissapointing and also quite a relief cos now i get to choose it myself. I've been to loads of different places over the last few days and am just as baffled as ever... DP and I are going baby-free shopping on Saturday so I am determind to get one then. We don't have a big budget, and I keep finding stuff i like about 3x as much as we said we'd spend

DP proposed on my birthday last Friday. We went to Paris for 2 days on our own and had a lovely time. We left Thursday morning and so had most of the day and the evening there Thursday. We had a really nice meal out Thursday night and I kind of thought that if he was going to do it (which I DID NOT think he was) it would be then. But he didn't, and I really was not expecting it at all on Friday morning. But actually it was perfect because it was my birthday and we woke up quite late (for us!) and he gave me cards from him and one F had coloured in! and then asked me right after that, while we were still in bed. And I burst out crying and then said "Okay"! It took AGES for it to sink in and I still can't believe it really... We've been talking bout where and when we want to get married, but havent decided on anything definite. There's so many choices.

Ahhhhh F has only been asleep for an hour and he's woken up 3 times already, and now I can hear he's awake again. It's boiling here and he's very sweaty, also he has a bit of a cough which is keeping him awake. Might have to get the Capol out....

Reggiee · 10/06/2008 21:01

Shimmer - CONGRATULATIONS!!! Am sooo pleased for you. Hurrah! A new wedding to look forward to!

Dragon - glad today went well. Rachel is a fab name - although I noticed you'd gone for the wrong spelling . Why are boys names so much more difficult? Am enjoying the name selections from everyone.

UD I'd mention it to nursery to be honest. Is water / juice freely available?

Wilkie - how's J now? Is he any better?

Vino - not long now. Can't believe you've hit the old not sleeping thing. PITA. So hope you give birth on a week day so I can come over 5 mins later (just what you want eh?).

Eah - how was E tonight? Did she settle down quickly?

2H - think I have your email somewhere. Will email you shortly about next week (next week where did that come from?). Kat - don't think I have your details anywhere.

Had a great weekend. All over body massage (whilst wearing a nice black paper thong), lounge by the pool, good company, drinking wine on the terrace, big bedrooms, big beds....

ladytophamhatt · 10/06/2008 21:39

Hello again.

UD, could it be that drinks are only avaikable to meal times? When I collect my friends little boy from nursery there aren't any drinks around, they are all on teh shelf out of reach or little fingers/snotty noses.
They offer them as and when but they aren't (or don't seem to be) left for them to help themselves.

Maybe ask if they could offer it more often if its the same at Z'z place.

FAB news on teh engagement shimmer. Do we all need to go hat shopping??

Nothing much to report here, at least I dodn't think there is....I don't know my head from my arse since we got teh chickens so my days have gone by in a blurrrrrrrr.

Reggiee · 10/06/2008 22:37

LTH have I missed something...chickens....??

theSuburbanDryad · 10/06/2008 22:42

She's been banging on about i for ages on MSN Reggie.

Reggiee · 10/06/2008 22:56

I really need to reload MSN onto my laptop then...but I'd never step away....

So anyway, chickens......??

SmoothandWilkie · 11/06/2008 07:23

UD - J is always thirsty too - they only offer water with meals I think and then milk for a snack - neither of which he drinks but they refuse to offer him cordial which is what I give him. Bit annoying but I suppose they can't have one rule for one and one for another. At the end of the day he is YOUR child and if you are not happy then you say something. Don't be worried about it. I always mention if I'm not happy with something but TBH apart from losing J they have been very very good. He moves nursery in August nearer to our new house.

...our new house, hopeful completion 27th June 2.5 weeks away - ahhhhhhhhhh!!

I have Thrush - again - so pissed off with it. HAve taken the Canestan Once tablet twice. Mybe they should rename it...

Loosh - if you are about I want to ask you about the Migraine Clinic, my new tabs aren't working and the incessant headaches are driving me INSANE.

DH - yes, paypal to my [email protected] address please just copy and paste the other predictions please and add your own at the bottom. What about Lucas for a boy?

EAH - did your mobile start working again?

J fine this morning, is currently running round the lounge doing chicken impressions to Barney. e has also had two chocolate biscuits and two cups of cordial

ladytophamhatt · 11/06/2008 07:57

I have not been banging on about them....UD has been begging for info on my chooks.
How many, what colour, what names, any eggs...blah blah blah blah....

Shes a woman obsessed

Anyway we have 8, we had our 1st egg on monday morning and it was V V V exciting.
Ds3 had it for lunch....although it wasn't much of a lunch concidering it was only about as big as a ping pong ball
Some have names but I can only rememeber them if I see them, Ican't rememeber my childrens names most of the time so adding another 8 to the mix is rather testing.
I won't bore you with the names unless you really wanttto know them.....
Anyway, Its great fun and highly entertaining

Wilkie, I get recurrent thrush. Sometimes its to do with diet. I can't rememebr the particular things that make it keep coming back but I read it on here so it'll be on the achives if you search.
Also (and I can't quite believe I'm about to say this) but if we have some good hard loving vigorous sex that always causes it. Its not that DH is passing to me its because its quite hard and fast so a few days later I end up with a itchy quim.

So chamge your diet and get the KY out, that might help.

Right, I need to get dresssed and wake ds3+4 up. All this nice weather means they're all in teh garden til about 8:30pm so never wake up early...great for week ends but abit tricky on school days.

TTFN..

xxx

wonderwomanakaeandh · 11/06/2008 08:24

Grrr shite night E went to sleep around 7.45 but H awake till 10.30 (I even took her for a drive but she was waving through the window )she slept for an hour then was awake form 11.30 till 1am. And surprise surprise theywere up at 6.20 still!!

H day off today so we have struck a deal (had a few 'words' last night over the fact that I was dealing with H whilst he watched friggin footie) I am taking E to school and then going into town with Eddas and Hattie, so he gets morning to himself and then this afternoon he has to take them out from 1pm to 3.30pm so I get some peace (have loads of stuff to list on ebay)

Wilkie - phone working apart from 1 key, neither of mine will drink water or milk either

LTH - exciting that you got your 1st egg (did ds1&2 moan because ds3 ate it)

Rgee - at black paper thong I remember wearing one of those when I had my spray tan done for my wedding (oh my god cant beleive its nearly 5 years)

Vin- hope you got some sleep last night

You will all piss yourself laughing because I have now decided to sell my Quinny freestyler (lovely pushchair and H sits in it upright and comfy but to big) and my mclaren and get another buggy possibly a zia or zapp

ladytophamhatt · 11/06/2008 09:16

EandH, ds4 only ever sleeps in our freestyle here.
It is a lovely pram but way to big to use anywhere excpet off roading. Occaisionally he sleeps on the sofa but very rarely TBH. I'm not sure what I'll do with it if he decided the sofa is his fav place to sleep now.

I love it and can't bare to part with it.....

As for the egg, they didn't moan because he ate it before they got home from school so it was too bad . We've had one everyday since, getting a titchy bit bigger each time.
Funny thing is though, now that the eggs are coming from my own chickens the thought of eating them makes me feel abit .
An egg is a chickens period after all. Shes laying it because it hasn't been fertilised by Mr chicken just like our monthly AF.

Poor things having aperiod every day but do you see why I'm abit Ewwwwwwwwww about it??

Gross eh??

theSuburbanDryad · 11/06/2008 09:19

lol @ "Mr Chicken"

you mean...

cock?

laughalot · 11/06/2008 10:15

Hellllllllooo I never get chance to post im always busy with crap. We are all ok and looking forward to next friday when we go on out holidays.

Eah sorry about the bad night.

Wilkie sorry to hear about j I hate vomit yuck.

Lth lol at you and your hard core sex and chickens .

Urban l will only dring juice not much water and occasionally milk. I would have a word.

Rgee come on then who will win apprentice ?

Right got to go need a poo

theSuburbanDryad · 11/06/2008 10:19

I know that Z will drink water quite happily - he gets juice at home, but they don't give milk to drink at nursery (except formula for some of them, but Z doesn't like it ) He will drink cow's milk, but only through a straw, and only when it's ice cold (or chocolate flavoured!!)

I think they do only get drinks at meal/snack times but i'm worried that when it's hot it's not enough and i'd be happier if he had access to water all day as he does have a tendency to rush about and get all sweaty!

He was up at 5am this morning and has now crashed out on the sofa. Little bugger angel. I was planning on going to see some friends in Northampton today but i don't know if i can be arsed now...!

Lizzzombie · 11/06/2008 13:17

Ah Shimmer, that all sounded very romantic. Where are you going shopping on Saturday? Hatton Garden up near Holborn-ish has some great ring shops - all prices covered!
DP's best mate got engaged to his long time (9years + baby) girlfriend last week. He got down on one knee on the beach and presented her with a heart shaped 'pretend' ring until they go shopping! I think thats sooooo romantic!

Just about to start ironing the mammoth pile of ironing which our holiday produced.
We had a lovely time. I can recommend Alvor in Portugal as a lovely little town. Lots of touristy shops and Irish bars on one side, but lots of lovely fish restaurants on the other.
The hotel "Clubbe Alvorferrias" was a really nice family orientated place. Clean, accessible etc. The apartment was bigger than our entire house! The food was nice. The pool was good. There was a little area for DJ to play in, full of little Tykes plastic toys. There was a kids club which seemed really well organised (3+ years though).
Only drawback was it was a 20 min walk to the beach, which was HUGE and sandy. Great if you are just grownups. But with a small person. No way! At 10.30am it was too hot even to walk on the sand.
Its a really nice part of Portugal though, and there is lots to do. Except we were skint and knackered so did absolutely nothing. Which was the objective of the holiday really!
Oh, and they had Ceebeebies, which was very helpful too!

Right. Off to tackle ironing.

LTH - Am permanent Tuesday and Thursday mornings at work now. So anytime you are in town pop in and say hello!

Wilkie - My sister suffered from the same problem as you. She did a very extrame diet, and cut out all sugars from her diet for about a month and it really hit it on the head. She turned properly evil for a while, but I think it worked. Possibly called the anti-candida diet? Something like that?

Lizzzombie · 11/06/2008 13:19

Suburban - (loving the new name btw)
DJ is the same with drink after nursery. They also keep them up high. I guess so they can't drink each others. On some occassions I've picked him up and his drink has still been practically full, and his chugged it down fully on the way home.
