March 2007: Babies no longer: the road to Toddlerdom

MrLSG · 01/05/2008 22:50

MrsLSG suggested it, so her it is...

I've observed that calling Toby a baby isn't really accurate anymore, he (as one of the younger March babies - actually being born in April) is now toddlering (or is that staggering?), hence the title of the thread.

Sorry if Dad's aren't allowed around here: But Toby just loved joining in garden football with his big brother and dad earlier tonight.

OP posts:

Catweazle Hasan is the same-into everything and trashing constantly! and he loves to be carried around on my hip. It's hard to do anything.
He loves it when we have visitors or go places.
He and ds2 have been playing a great game out in the garden where they roll around like puppies, (ds2 isn't much bigger than Hasan) that occupies him for a good while.

Diva it is totally normal for your dd to be down after a camp, when I used to go on camps we were warned about the post camp depression. But in the context of your general unhappiness about where you are it gets lumped into more stress for you.

I had such a lovely day with my old friend yesterday, she's amazing, though I think I'm moaning about dh too much.
There are huge ongoing conflicts for me with him that have no answer. oh well.

kittywise · 28/07/2008 10:22

catweazle our sky card has been very firmly sellotaped to the box for years now!!
Reading your posts about your little monkeys I'm amazed to be saying that Ronnie isn't a naughty little imp.
He has a moan when I'm sitting down and he wants to suck but the rest of the time he wonders rounds, pushing prams and scooters and trucks and I often find him quietly sitting looking through his teletubby books.
I guess it's because there are so many other children about. I think he is more demanding when the others are at school/preschool.
Perhaps this is finally pay back for 15 months of non stop screaming wink]. He slept until 8.30 this morning!!

divastrop · 28/07/2008 20:18

my sky card has been taped into the slot since ds2 started crawling also.i find that is one small advantage of a small age gap-the house is pretty much already baby proofed once the lo is mobile.

Elsie has yet another cold and was up screaming half the night.my mum is coming up tomorrow to take the older 2.she is supposed to be babysitting but theres little point with Elsie like she is.

i am worried sick about dh,he is really down and cant be bothered even going on the computer.i dont know what to do i cant really cope with all this.

SuperSillyus · 30/07/2008 09:14

ooh I'm tired today...I would love another 40 winks.

Diva how's things?

It is chucking down here. I don't mind. The children are all playing nicely up the house. As usual I haven't heard from dh. sigh.

SuperSillyus · 30/07/2008 11:38

any ideas?

kittywise · 30/07/2008 14:37

I like guy. He does lots of meditation and healing work

kittywise · 30/07/2008 14:39

sorry rosy that was meant to be your other thread, will try again. I'm trying to get used to my new laptop and Ronnie made me empty a cup of tea all over the computer key board so now it's gone bonkers mad

SuperSillyus · 30/07/2008 15:35

Ah it's fine here. thanks Kitty looks good.

catweazle · 30/07/2008 19:21

We got a Sun holiday! Weekend in Duinrell Holland in September

On the grr side, my 2 younger DSs are giving me Attitude bigtime. If one more boy speaks to me like I'm a piece of sh*t so help me I'm going to lamp him

DS2, not taking his medication for ADHD because he "doesn't need it" (Yeah right) screamed at me on the phone because I asked him to put a sheet out on the line to dry. He has to do everything

DS3 has given me attitude because I asked him to take a quiche out of the oven.

Hardly strenuous tasks, either of these.

kittywise · 30/07/2008 21:07

grrr for you catweazle, give a timely clip round the ear.
Have just spent 79.50 in poncey Boden sale on items that me and kids don't need.
Well I never go out so it's my going out money!

kittywise · 30/07/2008 21:08

congrats on holiday btw sounds fab

divastrop · 31/07/2008 11:46

catweazle-for you.i came close to smacking ds1 a couple of times before he buggered off to his nans yesterday.

things are ok here.dont want to say too much as its dh's business but things are going to improve big time.

i have bad pmt though and the kids are doing my head in.i feel frustrated and want to scream.

SuperSillyus · 01/08/2008 07:10

Sounds promising Diva.

Hasan is getting more and more funny and mischievous. He keeps climbing on the table now, I had to move all the chairs away. And he keeps wrestling the other children, and me...no one is too big for him to tackle!

My lovely sister is coming over from scotland this evening so we are all very excited.

hoping for some break from the rain.

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 11:16

Catweazle - oooh Holland sonds good. We are waiting for our letter to tell us which Sun hol we have got this time. We've opted for 5 destinations which are all within 2 hrs of London, so we can drive up after school and thn return on the Sunday night (as opposed o sticking around to Monday morning) - we've gone for same time period as you tough - a weekend in eptember (or Oct half term which we won't get anyway 'cos everyone else will have gone for same week blah blah)

We're off to seaside in two weeks for a Carry on Camping tpe hol with 3 other MN familiesd!! [rin]

Kitty - what did you buy??

Diva - snap - very PMT here too - at least it will pass eventually eh? Do you get tearful too? I get very or very

Silly -hope the rain has stopped. Is it your older or younger sister?

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 11:17

useless keyboard!

SuperSillyus · 01/08/2008 11:25

Itsmyparty, they are both younger but one of them seems older because she is very clever and sensible. So it's my youngest sis, who is very very silly and funny and disguises her sensibleness. I am the eldest but least sensible, responsible or mature

This morning I left Hasan's nappy off and he pooed and I stood in it. (just to illustrate my point)

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 11:56

Eeeek! Was it still warm, Silly?

bethoo · 01/08/2008 12:18

cant keep up with you all!
hope you are all well. wish i could get to the beach, dp saying he will take us but then he claims poverty and i am refusing to pay out anymore petrol money as i never see it again and he gives buggar all for ds. it is not a two way money giving relationship!
Hayden has long curly blonde hair, like a little surfer dude!
30 weeks now so not long before i encounter sleepless nights again! am i prepared? hell no!

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 12:32

Cateazle when did you receive your Sun confirmation letter?

Hi Bethoo - how is the PG going (apart from not being prepard)? Hayden sounds a dish!!

bethoo · 01/08/2008 13:00

pregnancy is going relatively easy i must admit. nto so stressed out as i was with the first! getting old hat at this now apart from few uncomfortable nights everything appears to be going smoothly. have nto been diagnosed with anything like last time so fingers crossed. cant believe how fast it is going.
will have to put some updated piccies of ds on profile. he is so adorable.

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 13:51

Bethho he is a dish!!! Those big baby eyes!

catweazle · 01/08/2008 17:13

Got confirmation on Wednesday. Didn't post it until last week because I started collecting the vouchers late. It's the first time we've done it and I amazed it was so quick. We got 1st choice of park and second choice of dates (wanted Mon 22 Sep to Fri 26)

SuperSillyus · 01/08/2008 17:48

gorgeous pictures Bethoo, I thought you were blonde! Great that the pregnancy is going smoothly.

itsmyparty, I had my sandals on so I didn't know and walked it around the place first....(sigh)

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 19:15

catweazle - we sent ours off on the first possible date (collected from day 1) and have herd nowt

divastrop · 01/08/2008 21:16

i want a holiday!

rosy-mt dd2 keeps taking her nappy off and pooing on the floor.she will sit on the potty but gets bored and wanders off .there have been a few near misses where Elsie has nearly got to the turd before me

bethoo-i will have a look at your pics in a mo.are you still with (d)p then?

Elsie has blonde curly hair now also.and dd2 is a proper little girl with her hair in a bob.they grow up so fast.
