March 2007: Babies no longer: the road to Toddlerdom

1000 replies

MrLSG · 01/05/2008 22:50

MrsLSG suggested it, so her it is...

I've observed that calling Toby a baby isn't really accurate anymore, he (as one of the younger March babies - actually being born in April) is now toddlering (or is that staggering?), hence the title of the thread.

Sorry if Dad's aren't allowed around here: But Toby just loved joining in garden football with his big brother and dad earlier tonight.

evenhope · 02/07/2008 18:39

Lovely pics bella. How old is your big girl? She's grown so much since we saw her!

Divastrop · 02/07/2008 20:33

beautiful girls bella

i mst stick some pics up somewhere,i deleted all mine off facebook when xp sent me a message.

well,Elsie hasnt exploded sine this morning, and dd2 puked earlier but i think that was down to coughing.i am ok now apart from snotty.

am still fed up with the back street crap.yesterday it all kicked off again over a fecking tennis ball the 'girls' were claiming was their friends even though it was dd1's.

Roselily · 03/07/2008 09:01

Kiwi the pictures are lovely. Looks like alot of fun.

Kitty I went in waterstones and they didn't have journey of souls so I bought the next one for now...destiny of souls and have started reading it. I am finding it really interesting, loads to think about!

Have subtly changed my name for the end of dr who. This weekend is a dr who weekend and I refuse to miss it!

Hasan now says 'my' and is learning to fight over stuff with ds2

fitfox · 04/07/2008 16:55

Oooops this dropped of my threads!!

kittywise · 04/07/2008 19:32

It's about to drop off mine

fitfox · 04/07/2008 20:44

Hi - sorry I haven't been on - RL getting in the way of MN!!!

The tought of stopping BF sends me into a panic - I love the rythm it adds to our ay and the quiet moments it ives me with Monti-chubs. I don't even really mind when he wakes me at night as its ouspecial time together

Rosy - I know, I know - DT is regenerating into a new Dr Who

I think the partnership of DT and Catherine Tate has been ahigh point in Dr Who history!

Divastrop · 04/07/2008 20:46

well post more often then

i had to sleep on the sofa last night while Elsie wandered around as she wouldnt sleep.she was screaming for 2 hours.i reckon canines are cutting

dd2 puked again last night and still has the trots.

the plus side to this is when i see weeny cute babies i have no thoughts of 'i want another one',i just think 'ah well,it could be worse,i could still have bottles and a whole set of teeth to contend with'.

Elsie is almost at the age ds2 was when i got pregnant with dd2.feck,its like i was pregnant for 5.6 years solid

Piffle · 04/07/2008 20:51

hi all sorry diva to hear kids are so grim healthwise.
am homicidal mentalist Finn cutting eye teeth, well teeth 13/14 ( is he early) grotty shitbag of a child...
but has abiding cuteness which preserves his life...
still breastfeeding
hooooooooray

Divastrop · 04/07/2008 21:14

piffle-Elsie has 10 teeth and another 2 back ones on the way through(and the fecking pointy things that hurt the most grrrr),i thought she was late teething as ds2 had 16 by 1 year.

was it whiskey or brandy they used in the olden days?

Piffle · 04/07/2008 22:38

ah feck and there was me swigging the booze... Not knowing I could have conked Finn out with it.
I've resorted to medised. I'm so not coping.
more kids
never
read my lips
never

Piffle · 04/07/2008 22:39

Finn got his first molars at 12 mths no previous majors with teething
making up for it nor yes sirree

Roselily · 05/07/2008 09:00

This morning I am stepping over the three different kinds of wool that are woven around chairlegs, radiators and all over the stuff on the floor.

I just want to read, write, garden and eat, oh and sleep. I don't want to cook, clean or tidy. Is that too much to ask? sigh.

I love the holidays but I have little structure without school. I never know what day it is and no one is dressed all morning here at the moment.

The weather is a bit awful which isn't much fun for the children.

Hasan has been getting loads of big teeth too. He won't keep his mouth open long enough for me to count them though.

fitfox · 05/07/2008 11:37

Hiya- you are right Diva - I should deffo get on here more often (and you too Kitty!)

Piffle - glad Finn is still BF )

Rosy - I turn into WaynettaSlob every Saturday and during school holdays. The only reason I am dressed now (...so arly) is that I had to drop DD off at a party at 11am. The next 3 weeks are an endless round of children's parties - I wish someone grown up would invite me to a party!!!
Did I tell you DD has learnt the word "Vagina"???

DS1

Divastrop · 05/07/2008 20:43

ah,bless, foxy, shes a MNer in the making coming out with a cross between vagina and fanjo

i have had the day from hell, argument with dh this morning over ds2 being a little sod again and dh reckons he needs a smacked arse, then this afternoon i had this bunch of chavs(lead by a gobby 12 year old boy)giving me shit in the park, calling me names etc.i just want to curl up and die now,i dont like this world

fitfox · 06/07/2008 13:32

Oh that's sounds horrible Diva!

I hate that "we've just had the row from hell" feeling. ,

I hope today improves for you

kittywise · 06/07/2008 13:55

diva, have you had any more thoughts about moving to a different area?

If it's any consolation (d)p and I had a real hum dinger of a row this morning.

Divastrop · 06/07/2008 15:53

we talked about it again but i have huge arguments with myself about smacking as on the one hand i know it did me no harm as a child but on the other i feel it is morally wrong and that i should be giving him more attention etc etc.

anyhoo,i am still thinking about moving,i just dont know where to.i need a sign or something

catweazle · 06/07/2008 18:10

Still very quiet on here. Hope you are all out doing fun stuff.

Tis e'enhope here. I have changed my name because a RL friend has just emailed me to say she's just worked out my MN name after another thread. While she knows about anything I'm likely to post anyway and I don't have a problem with her knowing I realise I've probably given out far too much personal info over the different threads, and if she can work it out then probably others can as well.

Ok it's daft because this MN ID is linked to facebook anyway but I would feel better changing. This name was only supposed to provide an anonymous start to the pgcy that is DD anyway

frecklyfox · 06/07/2008 20:36

Catweazle - IKWYM

Anyone use to watch Catweazle then?

Divastrop · 06/07/2008 21:26

i vaguely remember that, kind of hazy memories of a man with whiskers

my baby is officially a toddler.after taking the odd step over the past 2 weeks she decided yesterday that its a good way to get around and now walks everywhere.she is almost as tall as dd2

let the fighting begin....

Divastrop · 06/07/2008 21:28

maybe we should start a new thread every couple of hundred posts like the other PN clubs seem to?this thread got quite busy at the start, maybe its a technical issue?

frecklyfox · 06/07/2008 21:55

Diva - Yes its wierdly quiet on here isn't it?

Piffle · 06/07/2008 21:56

diva are you ok poppet? Things must be tough with the local shit with those kids and your dd? Hope dh and you are ok?
sorry I know I'm shit at keeping in touch.
currently have head up own arse obsessing about having mental unprotected sex once this month when convinced was safe, ovulated 3 days later.
am terrified frankly.
Finn ok... Cute cheeky funny child. Sings row row row your boat now quite well, usually at bedtime using sides of cot as oars and sending cot 3 inches either way with effort
am handing him tennis racquet as he can hit tennis ball hung from washing line with saucepan lid with deadly accuracy...
he can also now ride his wheely bug, great news for him, bad news for my toes.
He is also able to open internal doors
feck fck feck

Catweazle bit freaky the rl thingy?

Divastrop · 06/07/2008 22:09

piffle-i am ok i think i did the right thing yesterday wrt that chav boy as i went and found out where he lived and told his parents, his dad went and got him and made him apologise.

from the look of a thread ive just read,ds2 is just being a 5 year old boy.i showed said thread to dh....he said 'see?theres no dicipline anymore'.

so Finn is going to be a sporting genius from the sounds of it
