Oh no Flame - Well, you'd have thought the employer would consider who actually works the hardest and not who has been there longest so fingers crossed for you.

EachPeachPearMum · 03/06/2008 20:07

strange- the Clive I know has a lot of stress and depression... I'm sure its not the same one though
Hope DH is safe Flame.

Jas- poor you for having to deal with that! Hope she is feeling better soon. I used to have bunkbeds when I was young, but I don't remember ever vomiting from them thank goodness.

mustrunmore · 03/06/2008 21:47

Will h get any redundancy pay? Obv its a sign that you shouod move yp here and he can work with dh

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/06/2008 21:52

It probably isn't as hard as you think to lay Clive off flame. Have seen it done before.

Bleurgh for bunk bed vomit.

Bought first clothes for new baby today .

EachPeachPearMum · 03/06/2008 22:03

Aw -were they reeeeelly teeny?

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/06/2008 22:07

Not as teeny as they could have been. Figured I'd skip 'newborn' and go straight for 0-3 (up to 12lbs), as I'm not expecting a small baby .

EachPeachPearMum · 03/06/2008 22:37

Yeah- but I bet they seemed teeny after holding dd's clothes!

I picked up a newb a few weeks ago, and couldn't believe the difference in weight! and size, and wrinkledness....rofl

Jas · 04/06/2008 07:56

Aww - new baby clothes. I still remember buying socks for dd1. Teeny-tiny
I skipped newborn for all mine, too and the dds were out of 0-3 months after about 6 weeks, so not really teeny tiny at all

DD2 seems better, but isn't allowed back to school today. I may go and see how much party food I can get from Iceland today. Legoland may have to be postponed as dp has finally got some work this week,so if they want him at the weekend he can't say no. I haven't mentioned it to dd1 yet as he's working in a private house so I'm hoping they don't want him on Sat.

I finally sorted out my computer/tax return problem and now have an idea just what is in store wrt tax bills this/next year.

Flame - Keep going with calm until you know for definite. If dh is `a reliable hard worker they aren't going to want to get rid of him

Chloe at the lack of checks fr childcare over 8 yrs.I had no idea. (Never use childcare anyway tbh, but still interesting and surprising) I hope the course goes ok.How long is it?

mrm - We are beyond broke and out the other side. No petrol money for non essentials, so I can't come to you for at least two weeks, and then it depends if/when/how much dp gets paid

Flamesparrow · 04/06/2008 09:02

Quick update - the letter has come home, it looks like they will be deciding based on "core skills". DH has worked there the longest, plus went on some training thing in Jan that gave him summat the others can't do. C is probably the most lacking in skills due to all of the sick leave, so we're thinking it is a way to nudge him out.

The one thing I can say for it all is that C is the only one without children.

Sounds like a sensible way to make a decisin. I hope the pressure is off youa little.

Chloe55 · 04/06/2008 10:25

Sounds like it should be ok for you then Flame.

Awww CSWS, have you gone for blue/beige/white/other? I bet you spent ages in the baby girl section aswell though didn't you? I know I did when I was pg with ds and I never even wanted a girl!!

Absolutely convinced AF will arrive today (only 3 weeks late ), went to bed with constant period pains last night and this blasted headache will not let up. Weird thing is mum came round last night and told me she was late by 2 weeks (she is never late), she is sure she isn't pg but I wonder whether she might be going through the menopause (although it does tend to happen in our 60's in our family and she is only 50) just thought it was odd we were both doing odd things!

mustrunmore · 04/06/2008 14:05

God, I really am the only person in the world to not go all gooey over little clothes, arent I? I'm very happy for people, other people. But just so so glad its not me!!

Good news... got a cal lthis morning... ds1 has got a place at his 1st choice school after all Apparently lots of people diidnt get their paperwork in on time so lost their places. Idiots!

Jas · 04/06/2008 14:09

Good for you though!

I wouldn't go as far as to say I went gooey, just amazed that real people can fit into things that small!

EachPeachPearMum · 04/06/2008 14:50

Yay! mrm- that is excellent news!

Flamesparrow · 04/06/2008 20:27

'nother quick update (really will catch up soon)

Job seems safe - he asked to transfer back to silicone so as to not need redundancies, and they looked panicked and said they would discuss it if it happened

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 04/06/2008 21:52

Thats great news Flame!
what is silicone???

Jas · 04/06/2008 22:06

I'm guessing another department in his work....he makes prosthetic limbs doesn't he?

I should really be cleaning, but can't be bothered to do anything today. My memory has packed up, and I'm forgetting everything. I got 1/2 way round Tescos today before I noticed I was wearing my slippers still

I got my new nappy today. It is spotty and lovely I'm guessing the ad has run out, Flame. Do you get much new business from it now?

EachPeachPearMum · 04/06/2008 23:10

He makes prosthetic limbs?
wow- between your and mrm's dh you could make a whole set of people!

Sorry flame- thats a pretty cool job...

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 07:38

Blue and white Chloe, but I love brown too so would have happily bought that if they'd had it!

Yay for job flame, and double yay for school mrm! That's the one where he's at now isn't it, or is it the church one on the way to that?

Did your period show up as you suspected Chloe?

Did I mention that TicTac is hoping to join us on our Warwick trip btw ladies? Chloe - you didn't respond re that - are you up for it?

mrm - we've been clearing out the loft, and I have a load of stuff for either car boot or ebay or freecycle. I need an expert to go through it all and tell me what to do with it. When can you come up?!

Chloe55 · 05/06/2008 08:09

Well I think AF may have shown up!! Went to bathroom a few minutes ago and there is a tiny streak of blood so fingers crossed!!! Still got this bloomin headache though

Won't be making the meet-up unfortunately, have absolutely no money at the mo

Good news on your dh's job Flame.

at you still wearing your slippers Jas!

mustrunmore · 05/06/2008 09:08

chloe!

csws; I'm flattered that i'm a junk expert Althou I suspect your will all be pricelss antiques Can come whenever I guess, apart from nursery days.

EachPeachPearMum · 05/06/2008 09:56

mrm- are you an orange person?

Chloe55 · 05/06/2008 17:21

period hasn't fully started - just had a couple of brown streaks (sorry if tmi), any ideas ladies?

EachPeachPearMum · 05/06/2008 22:31

erm... implantation bleed????

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 22:44

Nah, not from sex that long ago I wouldn't say. I usually get 1-3 days of brown gunk pre AF arriving, so it's prob on its way.

Can assure you that there are no antiques hidden in our attic! A couple of stereos and a VHS player yes, but that's about as exciting as it gets.

Guess you'll have to junk sort after our holidays now, as only 9 days til we go!
