But firstly - Congrats Maewest! Such wonderful news, so happy for you and DH and Dom,
And welcome to all newbies, and hi to Pav and Jeanie good to see you back.
We have had a week in Fuerta Ventura with all of Dh's family for MIL's 60th. We had a good time, all got on really well, but it was no holiday in terms of relaxation - villa was all tiles and steps, pool was artic, unbeleivably windy - but spent most days on the beach which the boys totally loved. Do a few things different next time, kids club for starters!! Four hour flight each way with two smalls was no picnic either, Spin I do not know how you flew to Oz. I would have drugged them and then rugged myself. fact.
Rigt what's next, who's still reading? Work is a bit dire to be honest. Have no line manager, no support, no structure and have had no training. Have been handed 8 accounts from someone who has left, plus all my own stuff, and have no idea what I am doing. Will stick it out for a few more months and see if things improve, but mildy panicking. No regrets about going back to work but it's very different to where I was before, and the guy who hired me has gone so I feel like lots of assumptions are being made about my experinece and capabilities....
Toby has been a little star with his patch. Wearing it 6 hours a day no problems at all. Amazing what chocolate and a promise of looking at the birdies out the window can achieve. He is absolutely dreamily adorable at the moment. SO cute and SO sweet, and SO affectionate. He is not a tantrummer, he can have a crying fit with the best of them but it's easily ignorable and usually cos he is tired...Harry and he slept together in single beds pushed together on holiday, he didn't fall out once, and both slept through till 7am every night like little gorgies.
Spex are a bit of a different story - I picked them up the day before hols, but they didn't fit right particularly when he was wearing the patch, so they kept falling off. Had them refitted today and they are much better, he wore them all afternoon no problem.
Toby's speech is now really really good - "Toby do curtains Mummy, I'll do it, I'll get it, Toby go Swimming, Toby's turn, please Mumy, No thankyou, pardon, sorry" etc. Unreal. So proud! I could eat him.
Harry is a total live wire, but also being a right character at the moment, coming out with hilarious statements, determined to be so independent, has to do EVEYTHING himself, get dressed, get into the bath, open the car door/front door, goes mad if you help him. I try to step back and let him, but when you are in a hurry it's hard....he gets very over excited when we have friends over, and his behaviour can be hard to manage, as it manifests in leaping off furniture, and punching and throwing. Get so sick of the sound of my own voice sometimes.....
Went to an ace birthday party this afternoon - they had Smartie Artie kids entertainer and he was superb. Had the attention of 15 3 and under kids for 3 hours, all through tea and before and after, they were all totally rapt! Harry and Toby adored, it, both dancing, laughing their heads off! It was ace. I didn't think H ate much, but managed to get an insider view of what he did consume as most of it came back u p in the car on the way home. Deep joy.
Dh and I are good, getting on really well, lots of loving, lots of talking. All good on that front.
have so many pix to show you, including Toby's first haircut, holiday shots etc, but need to wrestle with photobox, it doesn't want to play at the moment, is there a better one I should use?
Love to all.
