Happy Birthday to Sophie for tomorrow - I can't believe our babies are starting to turn 2 already!!

Impy - I am supporting Spain tonight but only because I think a Spain v Germany final will be much better to watch (but then I would want Germany to win so a Chelsea player can lift the trophy )

This thread certainly seems to have gone quiet recently - I wonder where everyone has gone?

Hi to everyone else

GERMANY???!!!!! [Impy splutters into her camomile tea] Are u completely off your rocker CB?!!! They always win! (And I'm expecting them to this year as well) But wouldn't it be lovely to have someone new win? We've not won since 1964 - about same as England!

ImpyChica · 26/06/2008 21:09

And anyway, you've got to agree that Spain has the best-looking team this year anyway - and I don't usually go for Spanish men!

PixelHerder · 26/06/2008 21:34

Hi All!

Not been on for a bit too, not got headspace for much except packing boxes (not a great model of multitasking, me!). Well - we?re here in the sunny IOW, just! Emma has been good with the move so far bless her, a bit clingier than usual with lots of stroppy demands for her dummy/Pingu etc, but has slept fine at night. She was a total angel when we were packing to go, just plonked her in front of the telly and she let us get on with it for hours on end

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Sophie for tomorrow!!! Don?t bother with the pressies first thing HC is my advice, the Sophster won?t know the difference and you?ll enjoy the experience a whole lot more with a glass of BH in your hand Thanks for the ttc and the play house links btw ? they are both on the list of things to get my head round asap

Hope the boys are better soon Bloss ? bleurgh to sicky pasta bake sounds like it was deftly handled though.

Beadmum ? So glad you?re happy in your new home and that Charlotte has settled in. Thanks for the good wishes

Your cheering has worked Impy!! Go España!!

So much catching up to do ? I?m not going to do it all at once or it would fill pages so big hi to everyone and will be back on tomorrow xxx

kbaby · 26/06/2008 22:01

Bloss- yep most defo lucky that I wasnt there as I wouldve been running round like a headless chicken getting the calpol and themometer out, while prob puking into the pasta myself.

I must preview my messages, the keyboard on this laptop is odd and misses out letters, so apologies if none of my previous posts have made sense.

Youve not helped me with my quotes sorry! I was hoping for a more definete front runner.

A quick question, how long are your lo's napping for during the days?
DS sleeps from 1.30 -3.30 each afternoon but this week has been crying a lot at bedtime and not settling and then when he does go quiet he lays there singing. Tonight he wouldnt go to sleep until 9.30pm Its made me think that he may need a shorter nap. What do you think?

Pixel - lovely to hear from you and glad you have settled in your new home - Isle of Wight sounds like an idyllic place to live

Kbaby - when he is at home, Josh has about 90 minutes nap - I put him in his cot at 1 where he plays for a little bit and then goes to sleep and I always wake him up at 2.30 because otherwise I would struggle to get him to bed at night. However, at nursery, he goes to sleep just after 1 and can sleep for anything upto 2+ hours - still seems to go to bed ok though because I think he burns off more energy at nursery.

Impy - lol, I said to DH I can't believe I would ever see the day that I would be supporting Germany but it is purely because of Michael Ballack! However, Torres has to be the least Spanish-looking person I have ever seen They looked fantastic last night and will probably wipe the floor with Germany tbh.

Right should go and do some work

pixel - glad to hear you have settled into your new home

hc - happy birthday to sophie for today, have a lovely time on sunday and fingers crossed for sunny weather

kbaby - unfortunately for me the daytime nap is gone here, charlotte was starting to cry a lot when i put her down but as she can last the day decided it wasnt worth all the hassle. She will sometimes fall asleep in the buggy or car if we are out though. When she had a daytime nap she used to chatter for over an hour at bedtime but seems to go more or less to sleep straight away now.

Have lovely weekends ladies xx

Wallace · 27/06/2008 15:43

happy Birthday Sophie xxxxx

HumphreysCorner · 27/06/2008 20:06

Emma has been really jealous of Sophie and her presents-wasn't quite sure how to handle it. It is Em's birthday in 3 weeks but she wanted a scooter the same as Sophie's but bigger-now!. The ironic thing is that I bought this scooter for Emma last birthday and she flatly refused it so had to buy something else. Will take some pics tomorrow.

Evening all

HC - hope the bbq went well today although I suspect you are now sat in a corner somewhere surrounded by empty BH bottles

I am after some advice about Josh's birthday present - we want to buy him some kind of workbench and I have found this one - do you think it would be ok for a 2-year old?

HumphreysCorner · 28/06/2008 22:25

Lol ceebee-am just drinking the last bit of the 2nd bottle, hic! Will post more tomorrow. I think that is a perfect work bench.

anyone else's weekends follow a pattern?

When Dh isn't working on a Saturday, we step around each other while I adjust to him being under my feet there row a bit because he says something rude (omigod why didn't you catch him you were right there? when Toby falls backwards off bottom step and bangs his head WTF? ) then it gets progressively better as we finally make it out to do whatever family thing we have organised, then better still as it moves into evening and the kids go to bed/we have a few drinks etc. Then back to bad again Sunday morning while he nurses his inevitable hangover and I go out alone with the kids to give him some time to recover to do some gardening. Then better again as he feels back to normal and we go out again to do something fun. And round we go again....the joys of family life.

Awake 5.15am this morning. H gets up, goes back to sleep I lie awake then Toby wakes up. I am tired today.

Right, off to do stuff. Have lovely Sundays. Hope your head is ok HC!

Bloss- The same here, yesterday by about 12pm I shouted to DH that 'i have to get out of this house before I strangle someone'

Friday night was fun. DS bounced off dd's bed on to the corner of her bookcase and cut his head quite bad so I had to keep him up for a bit to make sure he was ok and stuff, he eventually went to bed at 10pm. DH went out on the piss and came in at 2am making so much noise that he woke DS up, so I spent 15 mins back and forth trying to get him back to sleep, at which point the cat heard him crying and was meowing at his window which woke him back up. I called the cat in but he ran off. Then 10 mins later I hear him meowing again so I tried ignoring him but it just got louder and louder, I opened our bedroom window to call him in and could see him outide DD's window. I go into her room and could see that he had tried to climb in through her open window and got stuck so he had his paw caught in her window. At this point DD and DS are now wide awake in the comotion. I couldnt get him out so eventually managed to wake DH from his drunken slumber who had to climb out on the roof and get the cat out that way. Then because everyone was so awake no one would go back to sleep apart from DH of course! which meant I had to sort the kids out, eventually after lots of shouting about being tired and 'do you know what time it is' they both went back to sleep at 5am.
I was shattered yesterday. Dh was lucky there were no sharp implements in or bedroom because im sure he wouldve had it.

On another note. HC glad yesterday went ok for you.

As promised here are some pics taken yesterday. Sophie's 2nd Birthday

Makes me smile when I look at Roshi's bike which is the same size that Emma has and Sophie's tiny trike.

Hope the pics work as the internet has been so slow for me today so has taken about 4 hours to upload.

Lovely photos

TheGoddessBlossom · 29/06/2008 20:50

gorge photos. Love that one of the two of them sitting on the floor KZ, and the beach, the beach, the beach!

HC the girls look gorgeous, and you look teeny!

Sitting here waiting to get ill from thawed prawns. Posted a "should we eat this?" thread in Food, and ate it before reading all the replies which basically concurred NO! Whoops. DH will kill me if he gets ill as he didn't want to eat it.

KBaby your night from hell sounds like hell. Am I allowed to say it made me laugh too, or will you kill me with a sharp implement?
