Lmao Muppet...
I have had a few but rockchick and blondie have been there as long as i can remember....my dad used to call me maisymae. Piggy was another...not much of a compliment but it was cos i could eat n eat n not gain anything....adnuav is another....

jeez the names i could have been called lol

Dalrymps · 01/04/2008 13:28

muppet - no, saffy isn't a compliment, you're a lot more attractive than her!

muppetgirl · 01/04/2008 15:23

My dad called me pickle...

muppetgirl · 01/04/2008 15:25

Dal - I think it was the hair that did it! I used to wear glasses for reading.

alicet · 01/04/2008 20:37

Muppet hope you're surviving with no food - I would be going mad and can certainly understand you thinking the table leg looked tasty!!!

Mine congrats on the weight loss!!!

LES thanks for all the invitations on facebook... Just trying to catch up with blasts from the pasts at the mo then will try and check some of them out!!

Dal I am hopeless at thinking up interesting names as you can tell... Nice one on the purees - I have been making some too and Adam is really doing well. Also discovered the little tubes of 'Ellas kitchen' organic purees - they are fab for feeding out and about as you just need to squirt a bit out of the tube onto a spoon. Wish they had existed when Sam was little!

Anyway off to go and list some stuff on ebay... Have had a lovely day with Choc and Rebecca at the last baby massage - gutted as there are some really lovely mums and los there. Still hope I'll be able to keep in touch with some of them!

Nellie - so glad it went well; was thinking of you and Madeleine!

Anyasmum and Floria, sounds like you had fun!

Ejt, sorry to hear Mairwen hasn't been well but sounds like the baptism was a lovely occasion.

Well, the York picnic could be more like a windfest unless the weather improves. Fingers crossed, eh? How is everyone doing? I'm doing okay, just feeling sleepy at the mo (as per usual). In fact too tired to write more so more tomorrow!!!

alicet · 01/04/2008 20:38

cross posted Choc - hope this means that R settled a bit better tonight? x

hi ladies

just plunging back in -

Muppet why you not eating? If medical procedure invovled, hope it goes well for you.

Hi Inzi, missed you!!!!

I've never really had a nickname, which makes me feel somehow deficient. My A level english teacher used to call me Drip arrived at thus - Perry A - Perrier - Drip. Astounding! He thought it was clever. I thought it was annoying

No big news here - Huw has been chomping (well, as close to chomping as one with no discernible teeth can get) on avocado, roast butternut squash, banana and pear. All v exciting! And, dh has an interview for that job in Edinburgh !!!!! Am spending days feeling tummytinglingly excited at prospect, imagining self living glamorous city lifestyle surrounded by lovely Scottish accents. Searching for suitable accommodation already. Needless to say, we won't be able to afford the sort of place I'm picturing, but hey, I'm enjoying it for the moment. Cannot believe how badly paid publishing is, but at least if dh gets this job we'll have a steady (if paltry) income without me going back to work straight away. dd might take some convincing, but there is the rather big draw of her father and gorgeous little brother living in Glasgow. Still, between my imagined future north of the border and now lies dh's interview so best not get too carried away just yet!!!

did I see mention of Facebook? - there are some pics of me on dh's page (a nipple is on, think floppy post-baby tummy is too, both featuring in pictures of baby of course), but I don't have page of my own.

Night all

A xxxxxx

Hi Apricott I had a Barium Enema yesterday and you have to have your, ahem, 'tank' empty so I had to take laxatives on Monday and then eat nothing Monday then a sandwhich an hour before the app on tues (2.30, was champing at the bit to eat!)

It just proves that I can't go on a diet as all I want to do when I can't eat is EAT and eat lots

Would love to live in Edinburgh, my auntie lives in Roxbrough which is about 30 mins away from edinburgh in a huanted old police station. I motorbiked up to Scotland (I fell asleep on the back of the bike , it was 6 hrs and very boring on the motorway....) with an old boyfriend and we went to see Nessie but, alas, she was feeling a little she. (Despite me shouting at the loch side 'come on Nessie if you think you're hard enough' my policeman boyfriend was very by me)

Would love to live in Scotland....sigh......

Well, we had fish and chips last night and it was the best fish and chips in the world! Don't have much planned today just pootle about tidying I think. Catch up with you all later (Inzi I MISSED YOU TOO X)

too tired to even write any more, sorry hope you all have a nice rest of the week, sorry for those i missed out xx

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/04/2008 11:30

Hi peeps,
I know i don't get on here as much as i used to, i have finally got myself a new hobby...card making and selling very cheap as well .

Still having probs with ds1's school had blazong row with head teacher last night and told him he needed to admit bullyin happened in his school, ds1 has also been on report since January because at the end of the school day he loses focus....he is 9 ffs, i lose focus and the end of the day and dunno whether i am coming or going.....read through the book last night and although i have been telling the school for over a yr now that there is a lot of bullying towards my son the class teacher insists HE has to be careful of how he acts and what he says....errr he is 9 isn;t this a time for him to be a child. apparently he made a comment to a child 3 weeks ago and the week after the child attacked him for it resulting in me keeping him off of school. The comment was apparently derigative (sp) and had a racial overtone which the school are concerned about.....he is meant to have said.......now wait for it.......
"YOU BOUGHT YOUR SHOES IN AFRICA"
first there were no witnesses to this, secondly how is this racist? if i say one of you on here bought your shoes in italy is this racist as well???????

Sorry am soooo wound up by it.....

I should be available for meet on friday but will have to admit i am a wuss as i will have dp with me and ds1 as well as ds2 lol. I just can't do public transport alone sorry if this is a prob please just tell me.

Vaun xx

frangipan · 02/04/2008 12:04

hi I have DS aged 6 and 8 years, DD is Ruby Rose Ann born 28/10/07, she is 14lb 3oz, on 2 meals a day and enjoying them but somehow putting on less weight than when ebf!

muppet girl-you are so lucky, the Rubster still wakes around 1/2am and 5/6 am I don't mind though really, she's such a happy baby I forget she's here sometimes, she's sotting on my lap watching me mn at the mo

frangipan · 02/04/2008 12:05

sorry, sitting....

alicet · 02/04/2008 14:15

Apricott pmsl at the thought of you aspiring to swanky city living you can't afford! Dh and I pour over house hunter every week and drool over houses that are at least twice what we can afford and then have a little sulk! Very spoilt of us really - our house is perfectly nie if not our dream and it will be fab if we finally get round to extending... Good luck to your dh!

Muppet hope you have been enjoying filling your face with scran since the indignities of your barium enema... Hope you get your results back soon... have fun at natural history museum - would love to come but a little far for me...

Welcome frangipan! I have ds1 Sam who was 2 in Feb and Adam who was born 6 months ago today (2nd Oct for anyone whose baby brain would mean they couldn't work that out at the mo !!!) My Adam's sleep patterns are sadly much more similar to Ruby's than Henry's ( and muppet!) but occasionally he surprises us!

LES having a go about that comment about shoes and Africa is totally ridiculous. It's just political correctness gone mad but is unfortunately a bit rife at the mo. Drives me mad too!

J2O hope you get some good rest at your mum's...

Hello and hugs to the rest of you esp Inzi - you have been missed honey! We are off to the dentist this pm - oh the glamour - and probably a cup of coffee or 6...

Have finally finished booking ollie's birthday party today. I had to pay £6.50 per head foe 20 children, okay and then a £20 'booking fee' so really it's £7.50 per head then

Still, he's very excited, all is done apart from the cake. (Cue space cake search again tee hee x)

Alice -yep stuffing central here and I am so tired you would not believe.

J20 -have a good time at your mum's -and a rest?

EJT - do you fancy meeting up again in the next couple of months as I am desperate for you to show me how to do rounds!!! I hope I am going to finish the sampler for the Christening (It's taking bloody ages as I can really only do it after the kids are in bed but my eyes aren't what they used to be...) It would be great to crotchet some booties for H x

Mine · 02/04/2008 16:16

hi everyone, esp frangipan.
Muppett, i'd love to but i have my cousin and her 3 month old twin girls coming for lunch (well fod for us, SMA for them!) on friday.
You sound vert organise for Ollie's birthday! What have you got planned for him then...??

Love the dream house in scotland idea..... i'd love to live in cambridge, but can;t afford a dog right now let alone a new house!!

right must get dinner on as sister coming round later and expecting 3 course meal......

muppetgirl · 02/04/2008 17:08

Hi Mine, yes, I admit it I am an anally organised ex teacher

Ollie is bouncing Henry in his chair and they are both having great fun ?it?s lovely to see the relationship between them. I will look back on these days when they are kicking two shades of brick dust out of each other

Dh just phoned top say he?ll be late home ?great as he worked all evening last night but hey, his earnings pay the bills so I can?t really complain. Another evening of cross stitching that bloomin? sampler!!! I?ll take photos of it when I?m done so you can see it x

LisaLessLumpy · 02/04/2008 18:17

Hi Muppet, when's Ollies b'day? Sam has now decided he wants a rocket cake for his b'day in June too I also need to design some rocket theme invitations too as I can't find any anywhere. So if you need a copy let me know
