hello everyone - I hope you are all ok

Inzi - welcome back, loved your story, esp the idea of frightening children as a pink sick covered monster!
Mine - i too like to escape to the supermarket
Muppet - lol at your story
Hello to everyone else who I haven't had a chance to mention.

Met up with a few different mums here this week - so much easier to go to new groups if you can go with someone you know!

Tomorrow I am starting a free three-week first aid course for parents, organised by our local adult learning service. They also have a free creche for DS, which is really handy, hopefully he will enjoy it and i will learn something useful on the course...

HEEEEELLLLLLOOOOOOO INZI! Great to have you back, been busy busy busy making and freezing puree's here. I am finding it very difficult trying to hold off until he's 6 months old, it's taking all my strength, on the other hand Dylan doesn't really seem that fussed at all, he watches us eat but not sure how he'll react when he finally gets some food. Gotta go for now cause off to bed, hope everyone is doing ok, Stefka and Choc - hope you both sleep better tonight. Hi to everyone else, catch ya soon

muppetgirl · 10/04/2008 07:18

Morning all

We bought a Stoke Tripp Trapp highchair yesterday. It's fab! We sat Henry at the table and gave him a jar and he ate the lot (I want to feed him my purees but he just won't have them !) He leans a little but that's because he still can't sti up on his own and he hates being on his front so this is the first time he's ever been anything but on his back. He loved the banana and peach mush. It was lovely to see!
We bought this highchair as friends 8 year old daughter still use it as it is also a chair. we might get one for Oliver if he likes it as once he was out of the highchair we put him on a seat booster thing and then he refused to sit on it as it was 'for babies mummy' he wouldn't even sit on a cushion so he always looked a little funny at the table!

I have a child free day -Yipee! but I have to spend it sorting out the spare room for the IL's who bring Ollie back tomorrow. It's full of childrens clothes as I have been using it as a dumping ground

Have a great meet up the York lot! London lot

Mine · 10/04/2008 12:47

hey muppet
i'm around. Its strangely quiet on here with everyone gone to York!!
Anyway, where can we go for our london meet up...??

I know we've tried to get this off the ground a couple of times now, but there has to be somewhere suitable for everyone!!

Stefka · 10/04/2008 13:28

DH did one of the feeds last night so I could get some sleep so I feel much better today. Dareh had stopped waking at three at the start of the week but has taken it up again for some reason - ah well.

He just woke up - back later!

yourlonglostpal · 10/04/2008 13:36

Hi again everyone!!!!

Don't know where the time goes, I really don't!

Well, on the moving to Edinburgh front - dh's flight to the interview was cancelled last friday due to fog and he seemed strangely relieved. AFter which we talked about it and came to the conclusion that it wasn't the right job for him now - the money was truly terrible and it would have meant his being away from us until I could leave work without losing maternity pay. So, that little plan has gone. While thinking about it, I decided it would be a good plan to tell DD about the possibility of moving. Big mistake! Huge! - She cried (like wailing, not just crying) for the whole day. Oh dear. Anyway, current thinking is that we might move to rural Wales - dh would carry on free-lancing, and I might train as a teacher. At least then DD would still be Welsh and near her friends, if not as close as she is now.

I'm in dispute with my new boss about whether my old boss agreed that I could carry forward some untaken leave from before I stopped work. V about it. REally stressed too. It's the same guy who gets to decide whether I can go back part-time.

oh, hell, gotta go.

yourlonglostpal · 10/04/2008 13:37

OH, and it's Apricott btw...

muppetgirl · 10/04/2008 14:14

Hi MIne - where oh where oh were?
What's greenwich like? TLES seems keen to go there?

LLP - Like the new name, sorry to hear about Edingburgh but Rural Wales sound idyllic to me!

I have just tidied the spare room but the IL's had better not open the wardrobes

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/04/2008 14:34

Lol Muppet I LOVE Greenwich.

Have added a link about the area..

www.greenwich-guide.org.uk/greenwich.htm

There is the painted hall, the market, food places, river trip, ohh i am sad i just love it there.

but its not up to me.

Mine · 10/04/2008 14:36

LLP - loving the new name... wish i could think of something interesting for myself....!

Muppet - Greenwich is a beautiful part of central london, i always love going there, but for me its a difficult place to get to unless i take the train then 3 tube changes with a buggy....

We don;t necessarily have to meet in central'ish london. Maybe somewhere within M25 that we can drive to as most if not all of us drive don;t we....???

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/04/2008 15:38
Mine · 10/04/2008 17:29

no worries, we;ll find somewhere we can all get to.. might be easier of we knew where everyone was coming from....

i'm in the North London area.

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/04/2008 17:40

I am in South East London...(nobody wants to venture here it is frigging scarey) otherwise i would say as only few of us all come to mine lol

muppetgirl · 10/04/2008 18:17

I'm in Swindon so coming in from the M4/Chiswick side.

muppetgirl · 10/04/2008 18:24

funny thread about tickers x

Mine · 10/04/2008 18:24

sounds like meeting in central london will be easier for everybody.

how abt the Natural History Museum (i think this was suggested last time..)??

DH said he;d come with me as i'm scared of escalators on the tube and then bugger off around the museum!

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/04/2008 19:05

lol mine dpwill come as i scared of buses so they can keep eachother company

Mine · 10/04/2008 20:04

lol !!
I have an irrational fear that i'll accidently let go of the buggy and Eren will go tumbling down th metal stairs and crack his head open. Dramatic i know, but i can;t help it.
You should see me at shopping centres..... i take the long way around just to get to the lifts!
