Well?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:08

Medised makes DS hyper if he's not actually properly ill! We did give calpol AND nurofen though

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:08

You're only stalking if you never post

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:11

Oops, better keep posting then . Actually, think this might be my record of number of posts in one day!
Calpol and Nurofen is sometimes the only option. If it helps them sleep...

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:12

I feel like a drug pusher. But better us all rested than strung out and tired.

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:14

Hear hear!

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:16

don't you feel like social services are going to swoop cos of the black eye? I keep getting funny looks from people!

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:20

I know! I feel like I have to keep explaining to everyone how it happened. Probably makes me sound even more dodgy!

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:21

hahaha, I don't even KNOW how DS got his, so I am a bona fide bad parent!

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:21

Just heard baby pumpkinhead waking up so I'd better get him up and get going. Meeting a friend in town today and going to be late now (typical). Have a good day everyone x

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:22

byeee!

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:23

I'm sure you could come up with an interesting story! Anyway, better run. See you later.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/03/2008 10:35

Morning everyone.

Just popping in quickly as I'm just off to the post office. Fury, I have your bottles, so if you email me your address now I'll post them to you today.

Glad other people's dcs have bruises! My dd fell out of her cot this morning and has a massive egg shaped bump on her forehead and my ds has a huge scratch down his face and a bruise on his cheek! I have tonsilitis again and was going to go to the dr this morning, but I am too scared in case she reports me to SS!!

Hope everyone is well and has had good weekends x

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 11:07

Hi Holly,
Email sent!
I can't believe you have tonsilitis again. Good grief, you need an antibiotic IV.

Sputnik · 17/03/2008 11:37

Still the thread of sickness then. Your poor DD LMN, she has really been through the mill.

I felt really guily this morning as I had to literally drag DD into pre-school. She's a little bit coldy still but nothing serious, and I had a chiropodist appointment. I wished I hadn't taken her now but felt like I had to stick to my guns, or she'd make a fuss every day over going in. Anyway, cue massive guilt.

LittleMissNorty · 17/03/2008 12:16

Aw Sputnik - don't beat yourself up about it - I'm like that now with DD and nursery....but mainly cos I have to pay my £38 whether she goes or not

Well DD can't have any more ABs, so has come home with a ventolin inhaler, cough medicine, carry on with calpol / neurofen and chest x-ray to be done ....she is still happy in herself though....she's just gone down for a sleep, so I'm going to do the same

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/03/2008 12:53

Another poorly LO here
She went into nursery and they said they could give the eye drops, so all was well. but at about 11.20 they rang me to say she was unwell and had a rash all over her tummy. I picked her up and we are now home waiting for our appointment with the GP at 3 this afternoon. I've checked her temperature and it is slightly up, so I've taken off a layer, but haven't given Calpol yet as since we got home she seems to have perked up a bit - she's sitting playing reasonably happily as long as I stay in sight, but gets very upset if I dare leave the room.

Phone call to GP was "interesting" though. I got put through to the duty doctor.
Me: My 9month daughter has been sent out from nursery, she is unwell and has a rash over her tummy.
Doc: What have you given her?
Me: Nothing yet. I have only just picked her up from nursery.
Doc: What is her temperature?
Me: I don't know, I haven't been able to check as i have only just picked her up from nursery. We are still in the car outside.
Doc: And where is that?
Me: XXX
Doc: XXX! (like it's the most ridiculous place to be ever) So you can't get here in 10 minutes then? I have an appointment available in 10 minutes.
Me: No, I can't make that. Are there any appointments later?
Doc: I can do 3pm
Me: OK
Doc: You're prepared to let your ill daughter wait until 3pm? (Like I'm really negligent)
Me: Well if that's all there is, then I'll have to
Doc: And you can't get here in 10 minutes?

Grrrrrrrrr

And he recommended giving her piriton, so we went to the pharmacy on the way home and got told she's too young, it's for 12 months +

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/03/2008 12:56

Hugs to everyone else with poorly LOs, and get well soon wishes for the LOs themselves of course.

justplainoldRia · 17/03/2008 13:07

poor DD jammy.
Some of these doctors may well be highly qualified in the curing of illness, but some are a bit short on common sense.

I'm just having a brief sit-down while baggins has a play on the floor and empties the DVD cabinet (DH has supposedly been sorting out, probably since before christmas, so he's "helping daddy"). Baggins has been such a good boy playing in his cot this morning while I did tedious cleaning of drawers and moving of clothing in the boys rooms. I haven't started on the TARDIS yet, no-one can go to bed yet either as there are clothes and spare duvets on all the beds until I finish the wardrobs and bed drawers.

Typically DH has some work today (I am not in any way complaining that he's working BTW, the more the better) it's just typical that because there's loads of stuff to do at home (not least cook tea and look after the boys while I get on) he's busy. If there was nothing to do but sit on his bum and have a snooze he would be here!

good luck at the DRs jammy.

Who was going skiing today? Have a good time.

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 13:14

Jammy that sounds awful. Do let us know what happens when you see him though. Also the GP is daft, honeslty, if DD was that ill you'd go to A&E and not wait for an appt anyway!

LittleMissNorty · 17/03/2008 13:32

Poor DD Jammy....useless bloody GP...hope you get on ok later. x

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/03/2008 13:40

Thanks guys. She doesn't seem too bad now in herself (is napping on my lap at the moment ) but still has this fine rash all over her tummy and top of thighs.

No teeth yet here either Bumper, though there has been plenty of drooling, endless chewing, and red cheeks for months!

FairyFay · 17/03/2008 13:41

Poor jamlet and baby-Norty. . I hope they get better soon.

Sputnik · 17/03/2008 13:43

Hope DD is ok Jammy.

justplainoldRia · 17/03/2008 13:48

it is so cold today.
I had turned the pc off, but have made a cup of tea to warm me up.

DS2 is being super-demanding today.

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 14:09

I am so tired I thought I looked ok but colleagues are asking me if I am ok!

I am... just not firing on all cylinders!

DH is out with the lads tonight. Lucky man, I get to fill in nursery forms.
