Well?

OP posts:

Foxy - I meant to add to the chorus of "men! PAH!" earlier, but got wrapped up in my little world with a vomiting baby. Sorry.

Speaking of which, IF she shows no further signs of V or D overnight, would it be bad of me to assume it was just due to overeating and NOT tell nursery? I have to get their opinion tomorrow on her eye and see if they'll take her with that infection, and I don't want to make it even worse by admitting to a vomitting incident. Of course, if I think it is because of a bug I will keep her away and not risk spreading it further.

Sputnik · 16/03/2008 21:16

Sorry, can't help you either, Tallulah.

We had a better night last night, and a very lazy day at a friend's house, gorging on homemade pasta

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/03/2008 21:20

Fairy - the jamlets room is still just plain yellow (courtesy of my Dad ). I have bought a wallpaper border though with animals on to add a bit of interest though. Was hoping to get it up today, but didn't quite happen.

FairyFay · 16/03/2008 21:20

Jammy, my opinion would be that if she has no more D or V then it isn't something you need to tell nursery as she probably just over-ate or something went down the wrong way.

Sputnik, that sounds like the perfect way to spend a Sunday

FairyFay · 16/03/2008 21:21

I bought DS a ceiling mobile when I was 6 months pg, and it still hasnt been put up

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/03/2008 21:24

Your day sounds good Sputnik ()

Thanks Fairy, I was strongly thinking of not telling nursery, but thought I'd better sound out opinion in case i was being very slack

Sputnik · 16/03/2008 21:30

I wouldn't tell them unless she showed further symptoms Jammy.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/03/2008 21:32

Well folks, I am off to bed. night all.

FairyFay · 16/03/2008 21:33

Me too, n'night

justplainoldRia · 16/03/2008 21:41

Thanks for your kind words. I only do these things cos I have a garage full of crap I never throw away in case it might be useful, and it's a cheaper option than borders (that we are so crap at we can't get them to stick) and other stuff.

justplainoldRia · 16/03/2008 21:42

Think I will go too, I'm seriously tired.

TALLULAHBELLE · 16/03/2008 21:58

Thanks Fairy - good advice.

What a rubbish night! Not surprising really as she effectively went to bed without any tea, but lots of waking and not very much going back to sleep Ended up bringing her into bed with me from abut 4.30 so we got some sleep at least.

No more sickness and her eye is looking much better, so hopeful that she can go to nursery and I can go to work in DH's office

Ria, you are making me worried about trying my border in the jamlet's room now. But at least I picked it up for £1 in the clearance bin at Focus so not much lost if it doesn't work

EasterBunnylicious · 17/03/2008 08:32

Morning, jammy sorry you didn't get much sleep. Another bad night here, DD woke up at 12 and refused to go to sleep till 2am. Fortunately DH had volunteered to have DD in the living room while he slept on the sofa so I didn't hear any of it!

She's in with me tonight though. I think part of the problem is that she is still in her crib! I know, bad mummy, but we have only just made room for a cot, I picked up the cot from a friend last night, and yesterday hauled ass all the way to the nearby city to mothercare where they had assured me they had the mattress I wanted in stock and they farking didn't - tossers! DH said she was a bit scrunched up, bless her, so he is going to stay on the sofa and DD and I are going to have the bed. Waiting for a mattress to come from kiddicare on wednesday. So that'll be another few sleepless nights while she gets used to the cot.

The other reason she is so miserable is that she is finally cutting a tooth (is she the last?), not quite come through but it's definitely there on the surface. A bit of pre-emptive calpol tonight do you think?

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 09:03

I'm with you on the pre-emptive calpol Bumper. I gave mine some Medised last night as I think he's teething again, and he slept SO much better than the night before. Have to say I do feel a bit guilty about giving it sometimes as I'm never 100% sure that he is teething. He's already got 6 teeth.

Jammy - sorry to hear you had a bad night too, but glad to hear the jamlets eye is better. You have got me thinking about decorating our nursery. I've not done anything to it yet. Other than fill it with a baby!

LittleMissNorty · 17/03/2008 09:10

Morning ladies

I agree with the pre-emptive calpol as well - I have recently discovered how good medised is as well...

Jammy when my DD is like yours, she always goes into nursery....if they need me they'll ring, and 9/10 times she's fine...hope she gets on ok.

Well another Monday morning and yet another GP appointment ...she was a bit out of sorts yesterday and by bed-time, her temperature was 39.6 ...so have been up and down all night giving her calpol / neurofen and back to GPs as one ear is 2 degrees hotter than the other. She's already had 2 lots of antibiotics in the last three weeks ....so much for not allowing my child to be exposed to antibiotics willy nilly!

Short week this week yay....although I am now going to see MIL on Friday

LittleMissNorty · 17/03/2008 09:11

Blimey Bumper, don't know how your LO fits in a crib....mine is in the large size sleeping bags and takes up a fair amount of the cot!

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 09:27

By the sounds of it - you've got a big boy like mine Norty! Is yours very active too? Just wondered if that is related to size.

EasterBunnylicious · 17/03/2008 09:37

She's a tiddler!

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 09:52

Hi Bumper - you may have already thought of this, but we were worried about transfering from the crib to the cot too. So we rolled up 3 bath towels and put them at the top and sides of the cot to kind of fill the space a bit so it didn't feel so big. I think it did make it easier. Only problem is they are still there so we never have any towels for us!

LittleMissNorty · 17/03/2008 09:54

My DD is pretty active but not huge - think she's about 19lb. Think size definitely relates to strength - don't know about activity levels. DD isn't crawling properly yet - just tummy crawling - she doesn't have the strength to keep herself on her hands and knees for long (although its coming)....no chance of her standing up against anything yet thankfully

HellHathNoFury · 17/03/2008 10:00

Morning all

DS is 24lbs and walking (with help).
Crawling as fast as greased lightning and more often than not has bruises (currently a black eye) from climbing over things he shouldn't.

He is teething very bad. We had 2 hours sleep last night. I hope work aren't expecting anything productive.

Norty sorry to hear about DD - poor girl has really been through the mill.
Pumpkin good to see you back, stop lurking

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:02

It won't be long Norty! Mine went really quickly from crawling to now wanting to stand up at any opportunity. Really freaked me out one night when I went into his nursery (it was v dark) and found him standing against the rails. I was feeling my way for him and 'found' his head really high up! Quite a shock

Pumpkinhead · 17/03/2008 10:06

Hi Fury - mine has a black eye too. He pulled a stool on top of him . Sorry to hear you didn't get much sleep. Have you tried giving Medised? God, I feel like a dealer! Get yourself a big coffee quick.

Will try and lurk less and post more. Sometimes feel like I'm stalking you all
