I kill threads

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/03/2008 11:38

"She's a thread killeeerrrr"

Hey fury, I sent your bottles yesterday, so you should have them today or tomorrow. Jammy, if you are around I sent your seat yesterday too.

I would emmigrate tomorrow if I wouldn't miss my parents so much. I am sick of being poor and cold!

Hope everyone is well x

HellHathNoFury · 18/03/2008 11:41

Thanks Holly!

My parents have bought a house in the US and are planning to emigrate - away from me - so when I said I was likely going back to Aus I wasn't expecting any issues, how wrong I was!
'How can you leave me so far away and take DS etc etc'

But... she was the one that bought a house the other side of the Atlantic?!

foxythesnowman · 18/03/2008 11:41

hi fury. gotta go and do nursery run.

bye fury

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/03/2008 11:44

I'm lurking (meant to be working, but system is running slow so looking at MN while I wait - mt excuse anyway ). Thanks Holly!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/03/2008 11:45

Hey foxy!

My mum would be beside herself if I took the dcs away! I think she loves them more than us!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/03/2008 11:47

No probs jammy, I've just had feedback on ebay from something I sent yesterday, so you should get it today too.

justplainoldRia · 18/03/2008 11:47

sorry fury, I didn't mean it made me think of what you've told us of your life, it made me think of you because you have mentioned moving to Oz.
Sorry for any offence.

HellHathNoFury · 18/03/2008 11:48

Foxy my mum DEFINATELY loves DS more than me.
Can't say I blame her though

HellHathNoFury · 18/03/2008 11:51

Ria no offence taken!

TBH I was rather touched that someone actually remembered something about me!

Really don't feel like I am offended in any way, I am a happy (if tired) bunny!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/03/2008 11:54

I love that link ria! Sometimes I just feel like selling everything and taking off! I'd love to be a barefoot hippy with kids in tow!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/03/2008 12:02

I am resigned to the fact that I am now necessary baggage that comes with DD, as far as her grandparents are concerned But again, I can't blame them, she's WAAAAAY cuter than I am.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/03/2008 12:21

OK ladies, perhaps you can help me. We have friends coming over on Easter Sunday, and I have some choc eggs to do an Easter Egg hunt for their 2 boys. Hopefully it'll be nice enough that I can put them out in the garden, but I'm not sure how well hidden they need to be to mean it takes a little time, but not ages, for them to find them. I think they're about 5 and 3, maybe a little older? How good are children that age at searching for stuff? Hide them with a little bit of the egg shoeing (they are foil wrapped), or hide completely under the plants? I've also got to decide whether to hide the tiny eggs as well as the bigger ones, or just have a bowl of little eggs in the house. I guess a lot will depend on the weather - if the ground is wet it won't be a lot of fun searching for lots of tiny eggs (or maybe it will be to LOs?)

HellHathNoFury · 18/03/2008 12:32

Jammy - in my experience of an 8 month old, it could be the size of a grain of rice in a shag pile carpet and he'd find it.

I reckon you can err on the side of 'challenging'.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 12:42

jammy, hide them well and then the grown-ups can do "you're getting warmer/colder/red hot etc to help them find them.

We did this with DS when he was four and he found them no problems.

I love andie the postie just arrived with a huge pile of maternity clothes . but should I be upset that at 7 weeks, the jeans with the big jersey full belly panel on them feel very comfy and look OK

I think your body definately relaxes into it sooner the more pregnancies you have; well that's my excuse!

I wish someone else would get up the duff so I have someone to share this with

DD has been asleep all morning and is now shouting for food. Gotta go!

I am bored at work and sometimes flirt. Should I be ashamed? I don't wear a wedding ring either. I feel naughty.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 13:29

i know what you mean mhc....my abdominal muscle was badly split after DS and has never gone back again . I am trying to mitigate further damage by doing exercises now. I've just bought Davina McCall's DVD!

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 13:42

just because you'e on a diet fury, doesn't mean you can't drool over the cakes

FairyFay · 18/03/2008 13:49

Sorry I disappeared Fury, I suddenly remembered that I had to get to DD's 2 1/2 year check-up so had to whirlwind the DC's out of the house. DD is only 7 pounds heavier than DS and she is 21 months older

Fury, the move would only be temporary to start with because it would be a secondment within the company that DH works for. Could become permanent though. Tbh, I think it's highly unlikely we'll do it anytime soon as I'd miss my family too much.

Jammy, the Easter egg hunt sounds fine - can I come too

I don't think I've worn my wedding ring since PG with DS1. I sometimes wear my eternity ring if I feel the need to show I'm married (parents evening, church etc) but I usually on manage about five minutes before my finger starts panicking and swelling.

I wish I still had my comfy maternity trousers

justplainoldRia · 18/03/2008 14:55

so DH had 2 hours on the phone to the jobcentre this morning. (They must have found his file). He was given an appointment for next Tuesday, to apply for jobseekers and possibly discuss appealing (and to work out exactly what we're expected to live on while they process it). but they have just rung and rearranged for this Thursday. I hope that's a good sign

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/03/2008 15:44

Good luck for DH, Ria.
I'm waiting for my computer to do a big load of sums. It's currently on number 78 out of 256. I could be waiting a while.
Although it's slower working out of the office - more computer time required for accessing files and emails remotely - I think the lack of distractions sitting in someone else's office (no one to chat to etc) balance it out, even allowing for this MN time while calculations process. So I don't feel bad about doing it after all.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/03/2008 15:45

And thanks for hints about egg hunts We're having a real "Easter-ey" day: an egg hunt, a pub lunch, and a visit to the farm to see the lambs.
